4.pngHeads up, flash op. If you haven't heard, I guess you need to play a bit before looking for guides (jk :3)
  1. Flash is a good gap closer and retreating ss(summoner spell). It's a must for every build now that revive is removed. (QwQ Rito why?)
  2. Morgana can engage a teamfight with her 4.png Flash + soulshackles.png Soul Shackle (R) + 3157.png Zhonya for a really good distraction+damage+cc.
  3. This thing will save your arse a lot, why am I still talking about Flash?

3.pngMy normal get-to-go secondary ss is Exhaust.
  1. This ss serves well to hit your darkbindingmissile.png Dark Binding (Q)
  2. It forces your enemies for a more difficult-to-escape from your soulshackles.png Soul Shackle(R)'s stun
  3. Allows your Marksman Carry to get the kill.
  4. It can also save your arse a lot. I made a lot of escapes thanks to this ss.
  5. Also you can make a tower kill an enemy with this if they're dumb enough ;)
14.pngNow I don't recommend a Support character to get ignite at all. Current meta suggests that Supports get ignite when Marksmans get Heal. I'm against this because ignite will steal the kill from your carry (means less gold for your carry). Most of the time your carry is closer to target anyway, especially with carries that have gap closers such as 67.png <- This chick. (damn I hate her)
  1. Pros can be a kill secure, and it can make a kill trade when you're alone under a tower (you shouldn't be alone with Morgana as she has only her darkbindingmissile.png Dark Binding(Q) for escaping tactics).
7.pngAs I've said, current meta is against it, but I find it quite the arse saviour. I think Marksman gets Ignite and Support gets Heal is what it should be like. Works like a charm usually.
  1. You can save your carry's arse, and your arse, and your whole team's arse when in a teamfight (tf). Why the f*ck not?
  2. Getting two of these isn't efficient, don't. It halves if you use two of them.
  3. 30% movement speed(ms) is something you need more than your carry. Marksmans usually have items that will give them a small ms that is enough for them. With Morgy, you need the ms to run away.
6.png21.pngNow I don't really recommend these because;
  1. Morgana has her blackshield.png Black Shield (E), with good reflexes, you don't get slowed, rooted, stunned or whatever the cc they hit. + A huge magic shield, nice right? So 21.png Barrier is out of the way.
  2. Ghost can be useful with your soulshackles.png  Binding Shackle (R) but the other sses yielded better results. You get enough ms from Heal if you get it anyway.

Masteries Back to Top

Cunning is mandatory. 25.png Morgy has high cost spells and relatively mediocre cooldowns (cd), you're a harassing/damage support, your job is to create opportunities for your carry to get kills or zone out your opponents as much as you can.


It's up to player to go with ferocity build or resolve build, but when you're playing 25.png Morgy, you need to play as a mage, that means no damage taken (harass/trade exceptional) and max. damage/cc dealt. So Ferocity build is more recommended than Resolve build.

Let's get down to tactics,
Thunderlord is bloody op. Now with only placing your tormentedsoil.png W well, you can trigger it. Since we gonna be having AP mostly, it'll deal a really nice damage. If enemy escapes from your tormentedsoil.png W, but you deal 2 damage from your tormentedsoil.png W already, you can just trade a basic attack for it to trigger. Guaranteed beneficial trade.

Intelligence is really nice, allows you to create more opportunities, more chance to escape and more zoning. S+.

Bandit, a Support must. 'nuff said.

Meditation is mandatory on 25.png Morgy, especially with mana pot's removal, it's recommended to nearly all mana heroes with cunning build.

Secret Stash, now, this is the least important one, but we're going out with our refill, it's wonderful. It saved me from many ignites and trades. Still, not too important, not too shabby.

Wanderer, duh, more ms, the better. Though don't forget this is out of combat so it's useless in chases, escapes or in fight.

Sorcery, we have no quarrel with attack speed(as) and bonus damage to our spells is always nice.

Expose Weakness, is a brilliant support mastery. It'll make your carry deal more damage, since the engaging phase starts when you hit your darkbindingmissile.png Q, which is a damage to enemy champion.

Natural Talent. As much as I like Vampirism and it goes well with Morgy's morganapassive.png passive, NT is more beneficial. More the AP, more the damage, and more damage means more life leeched. Also makes it more beneficial to trade the basic attack for thunderlord to activate and thunderlord gets bonus from additional attack damage (ad) which this mastery counts as.

Oppressor. Your job isn't to kill. Also your darkbindingmissile.png Q is a root and 3116.png Rylai we're gonna get is gonna make all spells a cc, so free bonus damage ^.^, goes well with thunderlord later on too!

Now don't look at the W I've maxed second. We're gonna explain it.

First skill is ALWAYS your darkbindingmissile.png Q. 99% it'll save your arse on a level 1 invade or wooden division tactics. Really rarely your blackshield.png E first can save your teammate in said situations.

Normally, there will always be one cc or poking skill your enemy will use. Whether it be support or marksman. So 2nd level point goes to blackshield.png E mostly. If enemy has no poking or cc skills, and no excess ap damage, for early harassing and zoning, also for thunderlord, tormentedsoil.png W for level two is a better choice.

(Said below doesn't include your soulshackles.png R, soulshackles.png R is always to be levelled up when possible)

Always max out your darkbindingmissile.png Q first. More rooting time, more damage. Con is more mana cost but it's well worth, 80 isn't even a lot of cost compared to what it deals.


Second skill to max out depends on your matching. If you have an enemy champion that deals lots of magic damage, max blackshield.png E first. + levelling your blackshield.png E first makes it's cd to be shorter. But again, you're not aiming for protection, important thing is harassing, zoning and dealing damage. Whether cd be 23 or 15, you're gonna use it max twice in a combat (hardly seen the second one).

You might want to max tormentedsoil.png W first if you don't have a mage as a support against you. But be careful when using tormentedsoil.png W, it's cost goes from 70 to 130 mana and it will make you run out of mana if you don't use it intelligently. Good Morgy player will sustain her mana after the first return.

Whatever remains last is up to you, but damn it feels good when you hit 18 and max out. Let's carry on with items.

Starting Items

    Perfect cost and perfect starter.
    Always carry one or two with you.
    You should be able to buy these items on your first recall. At least a Pink Ward and Frostfang completed. Frostfang is priority.

Core Items

    I'll explain why EotW instead of FQC below. EotW -> Zhonya -> Rylai order. Must have items.
    As soon as you get your EotW, get the Oracle. If you are below 9 when you get it (which you should be normally), get the sweep.
    This is my usual get-to-go. Lastly I sell Corrupting Potion and get a situational item.

Situational Items

    For excessive damage, against a fragile team. These items serve well.
    Void Staff for high MR. Liandry is for lots of high hp opponents. Morellonomicon for heal/spell wamp/life steal sustain.
    Chalice of Harmony got a huge nerf but the other two are interesting. They don't look that benefitting for Morgana. Currently not recommended.
2031.png Refill is op as a starting item. 150 cost = 3 hp pots, relatively you're giving up on 2009.png biscuits but you don't have to spend gold on 2003.png health pots when you return. Sweet right?

3303.png Spellthief is a must for 25.png Morgy. Hallelujah, it's raining gold! It stacks well with Bandit mastery too.

3157.png Zhonya is a must for 25.png Moegana. Especially to use your soulshackles.png R beneficially, and useful in a tf. Usual initiating combo is 4.png Flash -> soulshackles.png R -> 3157.png Zhonya. 3157.png Zhonya gives 10% CDR too!

3116.png Rylai goes well with tormentedsoil.png W and soulshackles.png R, it will make your team get better positioning and it will create an opportunity. Also will slow down people trying to escape with tormentedsoil.png W. AP bonus is again one of the highest. Health it gives is required for the mid/late game too.

Now, why 2301.png EotW instead of 3092.png FQC?
I've tried lots of games with 3092.png FQC and 2301.png EotW, 3340.png Warding Totem by itself is never enough. 2045.png Ruby Sightstone takes up an item slot. With 2301.png EotW, you'll get the hp you need for the early game AND you can ward easily.

Cons is that you lose the ghosts, give up on 25AP 3092.png FQC gives and 300HP 2045.png Ruby Sightstone gives, but later on with 3116.png Rylai we have quite the HP, and the free item slot we can quadruple the AP we're trading. 90 sec cd is really long for ghosts too.

3056.png Ohmwrecker is a great item! Seriously this thing is dope whenever you're under an enemy tower. This item is also good when you're supressed under your tower because it gives you good ms (to dodge enemy initiations) and health regen to keep you up on your feets. It's a great replacement for Frozen Heart after patch 6.9 changes.

3158.png Ionia boots are a lot better than +15 Magic Pen. you're gonna get. 10% cdr is great. Git good.

If you have too tanky enemies against you, 3151.png Liandry and 3135.png Void Staff are quite good. For heals and hp sustains, such as Life Steal/Spell Wamp and 36.png <- these kinda scientists, you need 3165.png Morellonomicon. Just hit them once when they're below 35% and gg.

Last item usually goes with more AP, but this is League, it's always situational, right?

You can't milk those. Stay away from him. His headbutt.png W is way too fast to react with your darkbindingmissile.png Q and Alistar will throw you away if you try to soulshackles.png ult him. His triumphantroar.png E will annoy you because you will miss a lot of kills because of it. And you will die because of his pulverize.png Q if you get tangled with him while he has a carry with him. 

Best way to counter him is casting blackshield.png E as you see him closing up on you to headbutt.png headbutt. It will negate his headbutt.png W and his pulverize.png Q. Then you use your darkbindingmissile.png Q and safely escape.

Easy

Slow vs Root? Root wins. 3 sec root is more than enough for you to get away. Just be careful about his asheR.png ult.

Bard

Now I haven't had many chances to play against a 432.png Bard, but this guy deals tons of damage with a short burst, then is close to useless. Damage can be an auto attack but the damage comes from the meeps and is registered magic. Can be negated with blackshield.png E but I don't recommend it. Keep your blackshield.png E for his bardQ.png Q, as it will stun or slow otherwise. Your blackshield.png E will also counter his bardR.png ult, but for only one person. Sadly you can't escape from your allied Bard's bardR.png ult, but you shouldn't be in the same team when you're playing Support Morgana.

Just time your blackshield.png E right to negate his grab and you win. Pretty easy right?

Brand

Hard

Nevertheless, against a good Brand player, you will lose. No mobility enough to escape from his flames. And your blackshield.png E will never be enough to absorb even half of the damage. Good thing is, if you can survive enough for a second blackshield.png E, you won't die from his passive. Also since brand needs to be relatively close, you can outrange him. Be careful about his ult or you will kill your own carry. It prioritises champions if ablaze. But good thing is, your blackshield.png E will block his brandwildfire.png ult if you time it correctly and it won't spread anywhere.

Early play, negate his brandblaze.png stun with your blackshield.png E, but if you're not ablaze, don't waste your shield. Position well so he won't hit you with his brandfissure.png W and be careful for his brandconflagration.png E because it's normally casted first.

Expecting to see him less on the support role thanks to 6.9 update. His supportive abilities got nerfed and middle laner abilities balanced.

Braum

It looks like a his braumE.png E is a counter for Morgy's darkbindingmissile.png Q but root still does effect him. It's a good tactic to bait if his carry is on low hp.

His braumR.png ult, passive and his braumQ.png Q will be negated by your blackshield.png E, you can also use your soulshackles.png ult to open a vision for your marksman to shoot down enemy marksman.

Caitlyn

Hard

She outranges you. She will escape from your darkbindingmissile.png Q with her caitlynentrapment.png E, and you can't negate any of her skills except her caitlynyordletrap.png W. Which is hardly useful. Be really careful playing against her and force her to use her caitlynentrapment.png E before you shoot your darkbindingmissile.png Q. soulshackles.png ult and W, then darkbindingmissile.png Q to win.

Corki

Hard

His carpetbomb.png W counters your darkbindingmissile.png Q. But you have the advantage on his missilebarrage.png ult because you can negate the damage with your blackshield.png E. Same goes for his phosphorusbomb.png Q, but against a Marksman Corki, don't waste your blackshield.png E on his phosphorusbomb.png Q. Stay out of range and you can beat him.

Hard

Keep your blackshield.png E for his dravendoubleshot.png E. It will be negated. Be careful about his positioning and dodge his ult. Rather than mechanics, better zoning and positioning will make you victorious.

Ezreal deals magic damage mostly. Use your blackshield.png E for protection against big damages such as his ezrealtrueshotbarrage.png ult, or if he's playing AP Ezreal (damn that still exists? And no Siv HD, please don't.) keep it for his ezrealessenceflux.png W. Zone Ezreal out, make his support stay on low health and it's an easy win if your adc plays good. Use your darkbindingmissile.png Q for the support because ezreal will counter it with his ezrealarcaneshift.png E.

Graves is pretty buff in this patch. Be careful. You can outzone him, but his gravesmove.png E counters your darkbindingmissile.png Q. Play well, be patient. Use your blackshield.png E for his gravessmokegrenade.png W, zone him out, don't give him cs and you win.

Easy

Her howlinggale.png Q and her reapthewhirlwind.png ult are negated by your blackshield.png E. Pretty much easy win with good timing.

Jhin is a really slow character. No mobility. Makes him an easy to root character. Poke him with tormentedsoil.png W, then darkbindingmissile.png Q to win. Your blackshield.png E negates his jhinE.png E's slow and damage, jhinW.png W's root and jhinR.png ult's slow.

Jinx

Medium

As much as it looks easy, Jinx is a really mobile champion. You will have hard time hitting the darkbindingmissile.png Qs. You can negate her jinxE.png E's root and jinxW.png W's slow with your blackshield.png E. 4.png Flash -> soulshackles.png Ult to win.

Kalista

Hard

Pain in the arse, what can I say. A hard counter. Stay the hell away from her. A good Kalista player will make a Morgana COMPLETELY useless. It's really difficult to adjust your blackshield.png E against her kalistaW.png W, since it's a passive. Just good luck, focus on Support and when it dies, engage 429.png <- to this bastard.

Whoever plays better will win. Time your blackshield.png E right and stay the hell away from her skillshots. You can outrange her.

Kog'Maw

New Kog'Maw deals ridiculous damage when he activates his kogmawbioarcanebarrage.png W. Keep your blackshield.png E to block his additional magic damage from the kogmawbioarcanebarrage.png W. Or when escaping, use your blackshield.png E to block his kogmawvoidooze.png E. He can't outrange you that much, but you need to dodge his kogmawlivingartillery.png ult. Careful play and support focus will give you victory.

Skillshotfest! Time your blackshield.png E to not get stunned and you can win if your carry focuses right. Mostly it's better to leave Leona alone since her damage output is really low.

His lucianE.png E will counter your darkbindingmissile.png Q. But the distance is short. Poke him with tormentedsoil.png W + AA till he uses his 4.png flash. Then 4.png Flash + soulshackles.png ult to win. Be careful about his passive. Keep your blackshield.png E for his W, but W is an easy to dodge skill, bear that in mind.

Hard

You may think you outrange 99.png <- this crazy girl when darkbindingmissile.png your Q and luxlightbinding.png her Q is compared but Lux's E will outrange Morgana. Also when down to one minions, Lux has the advantage. She can hide and you can not.

Your darkbindingmissile.png root is longer, but her luxprismaticwave.png shield is better. It'll give AD protection as well.

You need to be on guard for that nasty luxmalicecannon.png ultimate of her too. Damn thing is like a PTRS-41.

Maokai

Easy

Root? Negated. Slow? Negated. maokaisapling2.png sapling poke? Negated. It's pretty much like this. Make his maokaidrain3.png ult useless when he faceplanks you with your darkbindingmissile.png Q. When his maokaidrain3.png ult explodes, use your soulshackles.png ult to win. But most Maokai builds are tanky, so focus enemy carry first.

Miss Fortune

Easy
21.png This chick isn't as hot as she used to be, she got nerfed hard. Her missfortunebullettime.png ult is literally useless when she builds ad marksman. Outrange her with your tormentedsoil.png W, negate her missfortunescattershot.png E with your blackshield.png E and stay the hell away from her missfortunericochetshot.png Q's range and you win.

Now this shouldn't be a surprise but whoever plays better wins :D When playing against enemy Morgy with this beautifully crafted Moegana, use your blackshield.png E to negate her darkbindingmissile.png Q, make her use her blackshield.png E and then hop in and soulshackles.png ult. whoever casts ult first usually wins. It looks pretty stupid when you match up like this. But you can't in draft anyway.

Easy

Nami's Q is useless because you have your blackshield.png E. Her ult is also countered by your blackshield.png E. Nami got nerfed and now her namiW.png W will deal less damage on jumps the more AP she has. Her namiE.png E slows down so be careful when escaping, you may want to use your blackshield.png E on that. Nami's namiR.png ult is pretty predictable so just dodge it.

Nautilus

Stay the hell away from me. This champ needs nerf! Negate his nautilusgrandline.png ult with your blackshield.png E, stay the hell away from him and outzone him. Naut is pretty slow and too big, it's easy to darkbindingmissile.png Q him, but also makes it harder to hit enemy carry with your darkbindingmissile.png Q. You can negate his nautilusanchordrag.png Q's effects with your blackshield.png E but he still will come for you. Be careful, that thing is fast and wide. Only method to get away from it is 4.png flash or outzoning.

Quinn

Hard

Quinn is pretty OP right now. Just be careful overall. She's mobile and you probably can't hit her with your darkbindingmissile.png Q. Negate her blind with your blackshield.png E, don't give her a chance to quinnR.png R by using your darkbindingmissile.png Q when she does, and when your darkbindingmissile.png Q hits, soulshackles.png ult her for a chance of kill.

Sivir

Hard

A good sivir is dangerous. Sivir is a really good champ. Her spellshield.png E makes your darkbindingmissile.png Q and tormentedsoil.png W and soulshackles.png ult useless. And don't poke her with your tormentedsoil.png W or you'll just give her bonus mana. Dodge her spiralblade.png Q, don't stay near minions to avoid her ricochet.png W poking and try to harass her sup.

Sona

Medium

Not really any counter going on. Keep your blackshield.png E to block her sonacrescendo.png ult or fatal damage. Sona is not mobile so poke her as much as you can to make her waste mana. When she's out of mana, engage and win.

Soraka

Medium

Soraka is an interesting champion now. Sustained gameplay will win you the game. Conserve your mana but poke once in a while with tormentedsoil.png W to gain gold and make her use her hp. Definitely get morellonomicon when playing against her. She's not mobile and dodge her starcall.png Q to win. When engaging, be careful about her infuse.png E. You can turn into a pumpkin because of it. And never engage when she has her wish.png ult up. Just sustain damage till she uses it.

Thresh

Easy

Morgy is a Thresh counter. But not a too hard one. A good playing Thresh will win against a bad Morgana.

Your blackshield.png E will deny the Thresh's threshQ.png Q's pull, so you don't get staggered and pulled towards him when he does. But he can still teleport to you. Your E will negate Thresh's threshE.png E both damage and sway and slow, including the passive since it gives bonus magic damage. You also negate Thresh's threshR.png R, both damage and slow.

Tristana

Easy

Slowly poke her with tormentedsoil.png W, when her health is low enough, initiate with 4.png flash and soulshackles.png ult. Only difference is that tris will try to knock you back so put your blackshield.png E up right when it's time. Insta kill for your carry when she gets stunned.

Keep in mind that while 18.png Tristana seems to be at really high altitude when she casts her rocketjump.png W, League calculates this skill like a dash. You can root her with 25.png Morgy's darkbindingmissile.png Q.

Twisted Fate

Easy

Tf is a useless champ, come on, everybody knows that.

Vayne

Hard

Vayne is your hard counter. NEVER pick Morgy as support if you're playing against Vayne.

Your darkbindingmissile.png Q will be countered by her vaynetumble.png Q, you will get stunned and you will die. A lot. Her invisibility is also gonna make you not use your Q.

Vel'Koz

Medium

Expecting to see 161.png Vel'koz more on the support role with update 6.9. Not enough matches to say anything certain but avoiding his velkozQ.png Q with your blackshield.png E and dodging his velkozW.png W pretty much renders him useless now that his velkozR.png R doesn't give velkozpassive.png passive stacks. Still need to be careful because his new velkozR.png R when his velkozpassive.png passive deconstructs is dangerous. Not neglectable with 25.png Morgy's blackshield.png E because it deals True Damage when deconstructed.

Volibear

Easy

Voli's volibeare.png E, volibearq.png Q gets countered with your blackshield.png E and you can easily hit your darkbindingmissile.png Q when he's chasing you. Pretty much easy matchup. Pick 14.png when playing against him. When he's near 30% health, ignite him and he won't regen much with his passive. Easy enough.

Zilean

Medium

Pretty much who plays better will win. Your soulshackles.png ult will counter his chronoshift.png ult if you can slay him down before stun ends. Be careful about timebomb.png his Q, bombs, like 143.png Zyra, too much damage.

Like 143.png Zyra, maxing blackshield.png E first is recommended.

VS

Zyra

Medium

Normally I'd say it's easy to play against Zyra but it's not. Morgana isn't too mobile and will take too much damage even with her blackshield.png E. Even if you escape the first zyraE.png E of Zyra, you'll get zyraR.png R'd. With the seeds attacking you, your soulshackles.png R isn't as useful either.
I'm definitely recommending maxing blackshield.png E second when playing against Zyra.

I've been playing League of Legends partially since beta. My friend achieved a beta account and we played together on that. Later on I opened myself an EuNE account, haven't played much on it then switched to Turkey server for better ping. Worst decision I've ever made in League of Legends.

Played with alternative accounts on EuW, played once on NA, too much lag. I got invited to a Turkey esports team once as a support player. My skills got rusty since I've dropped playing around the end of 3rd season. Now I'm back and ready to roll. I have a good mid player friend, LF a good adc, then I'll start playing ranked again. Back when League was pretty new, I only played Normal PvP so I never really got a good rank.

Second season I mained mid, with Malzahar and Lux. Harsh nerf to Malzahar made me switch to Lux, then back to support again. Now never swaying from support.

Trying to get used to top lane as a secondary role. LF good players, I play for fun ^.^ don't expect me to tryhard. Will play custom, ai and draft pick. (I don't do ARAM or Blind, please no.)
