Summoner Spells Back to Top

11.png For obvious reasons, you're a jungler. You need this to contest buffs and make your jungle clear faster. You also get some more objective control thanks to your smite.


4.png I personaly like this one more then 6.png just for the reason that 6.png can almost be fully negated by a snare or a stun. 

6.png If you REALY like this summoner, then take it! NO ONE will stop you from taking it! It is the BEST chase summoner in the game!

12.png Only pick this IF you know what you are doing!
You might be thinking: Why in the world would a jungler without any form of jumping or escaping go 12.png? And my answer is: Experience. If you know what you are doing and you can just walk away from basicly anyone that can kill you if you just wither them, then this is a very good option. It helps you gank on both sides of the map and this let's you control objectives aswell.

First of. There are MULTIPLE masterypages that work for nasus such as these couple ones that i've used in the past ( drag and drop in a diffrent tab cause the pictures are to large for the site :/ ) :

None of these are worse or better then the other one, they are just diffrent playstyles for diffrent people


Ferocity:
Tier 1: Fury or Sorcery

To be completely honest, i don't know if siphoningstrikenew.png counts as an actual spell and does get the extra 2% from Sorcery. If you know/feel like it does, go ahead and pick Sorcery, otherwise pick Fury for a bit of a faster clear. You can go either one and be fine eitherway.

Tier 2: Double Edged Sword or Feast

Seriously recommend to take Double Edged Sword over Feast. The 3% extra damage that you do greatly outscale the 20 hp that you will get from Feast.

Tier 3: Vamperism or Natural Talent

Again, you can go either one. The bit of extra damage that you get from Natural talent is realy nice but basicly recommend in the lategame. But the same can be said for the spellvamp and lifesteal that you get from Vamperism.

Tier 4: Bounty Hunter or Oppressor

IF you are agressive enough that you kill everyone on the enemy team atleast once in the early-mid game, the definatly go for Bounty Hunter. Otherwise go for Oppressor. Wither is a LONG slow ( impaired movement ) and thus lets you deal an extra 2.5% damage to that target.



Cunning:
Tier 1: Wanderer or Savagery

Wanderer basicly does like nothing for your clear and basicly only works when you are running back from the fountain. The 5 bonus damage to minions and monsters are a huge increase in earlygame clear because of your E.

Tier 2: Runis Affinity or Secret Stash or Assassin

This one is clear i hope. Longer buffs = awesome. You're a jungler and you worked for those buffs. You want them to last a bit longer.

Tier 3: Merciless or Meditation

You're not using alot of mana when ur jungling and when ur sieging you shouldn't spam your E either so mana shouldn't be a problem. That 5% extra damage to low enemies is realy nice when 1v1ing someone

Tier 4: Bandit or Dangerous game

You're not a support allright. You're a jungler that barely autoattacks a champion at all unless you are ganking. After ganking you are usualy low or you burned a flash and didn't take any damage. If you kill them you've lost atleast some hp so the 5% missing hp after a kill/assist is a nice small bonus.

Tier 5: Precision or Inteligence

The magic penetration isn't all that usefull but that extra cooldown reduction tho! SWEET!

Tier 6: Stormraider's Surge or Thunderlord's Decree or Windspeaker's Blessing

I hope this one is clear aswell. You aren't going to oneshot someone anytime soon and you are a tank so running away is not realy your thing. You aren't healing or shielding anyone unless you go locket so that one is useless aswell. The only option here in Thunderlord's and that's the best option of them all.

When you start of your jungle, start with your E ( Spirit Fire ). This ability let's you do the MOST damage lvl 1. After that, you can start by doing what a 75_64.png does best: STACKING. You can choose if you max E ( Spirit Fire ) or Q ( Siphoning Strike ). If you choose to max E, then your clear is alot faster but you get less stacks. If you choose to max Q then you get alot more stacks since the cooldown gets lower each level, but your clear is slower. The choice is yours!


I recently started to go and max Q on nasus since with my new runes, my clear is already realy fast so this only slows it down a little bit. This way you can clear a bit slower in the jungle but get alot more stacks on your Q and do more damage in teamfights.

To be honest. If you know that you don't need to gank a lane for a littlewhile after you clear your both buffs ( or enemy buffs if you like to invade ), you can get another point in Q for a better clear and more stacks.

Starting Items

    Standard start for a jungler. pick pots or refillable potion depending on your earlygame clear strength. If that's ok even on other champions, the refillable potion will save you 150g in the earlygame. otherwise, pick the regular pots

    After first pack Priority list of items: Jungle item, all of them work out but blue is the weakest cause you already have a slow in your wither. Hunter's potion: This will help you sustain in the jungle alot more. tier 1 boots: helps with clearspeed and ganking efficiency
    Try to pick up a pink ward from time to time. It helps out getting control of objectives such as dragon and rift harald in the earlygame and baron later on. Also, always stick with the yellow trinket for as long as possible and eventualy upgrade to either blue trinket ( if getting vision is a problem ) OR red trinket ( if your team if ahead and you want to deny enemy vision and if your team has enough warding strength )
    When ready, upgrade to cinderhulk or warrior depending on what your game is like.

Core Items

    This is an example that has been working for me over a longer period of time and feels like the strongest ones at the moment.
    If you go warrior, you shouldn't go tri force. You lose 500 HP by going warrior so you might want that extra bit of armor from iceborn gauntlet to keep your tankyness sortof equal.
    These are some other good tank items.

Situational Items

    !These items are VERY situational! Last Whisper is ONLY when you are REALY AHEAD or the enemy is stacking armour like crazy and it's already realy late into the game. Frozen Hearth is for earlier in the game and you know that you use ALOT of mana, then you can replace Randuin's Omen with this item. At last Iceborn Gauntlet, this item is just a personal preference. If you like this item, replace Trinity Force with this one.
    If you want to troll a bit cause you are either winning REALY hard or you are losing like crazy, you can grab some of these items. REMEMBER, these items ARE NOT recomended at all, these are just to have more fun.

Early on you'll probably lose this, mainly cause 266_64.png has higher damage and a passive. Later on in the game you can 1v1 him more easily but it's still a HUGE challenge.

He's stronger than before and if he goes damage, don't even think about killing this guy. Even tho he has no tankyness and you should be able to win, he outheals you in every single way. Well, if he has 3124.png and it's stacked? Just flash/ghost away cause ur never gonna win that one. jaxcounterstrike.png blocks siphoningstrikenew.png and when it's done, it stuns you.

54_64.png is DAMN tanky, even when he is jungle. Would reccomend to counter jungle him alot early game. Fighting isn't reccomended but not impossible.

pantheonpassive.png block an auto attack ( and also blocks siphoningstrikenew.png ) every time he uses 4 abilities or auto attacks. Also, pantheon_leapbash.png stuns you and gives him a free auto attack or 2, that gives him a 100 hp advantage if you are fighting 1v1.
Don't fight him unless you have to or if you are ahead.

Another adc jungler that basicly is a free kill nowadays for a 75.png unless she ults into you. Then you have to run.

This is a realy hard matchup. Try to counterjungle a little but DO NOT to fight him. His taunt will kill you. Literaly.

Again, he has a 'jump' ( reksaiE.png ) to get away and he has some fast CC to stall out a fight long enough for someone to come and help him out. He also does a surprising amount of damage for a tanky jungler...

Hard, but definitely not impossible, try not to fight him in an area where there are alot bushes, that's basicly in the river at dragon. Ow yes, i almost forgot, DO NOT let him ult on you before level 11. You'll just die.

113_64.png is probably one of the worst junglers in this meta. Haven't seen her in like 8 months and had forgotten that she even existed. She's another tank that just slows you like 20.png.

This is just a pest. He mindfucks you and is just a pure troll champion. Just like, try to kill him if you get the chance but make sure that it's not the clone, you will look stupid.

Wukong has armour reduction build into his kit, this way you CAN'T fight him at all.

Counterjungling isn't even an option anymore. Just farm your own jungle and gank more than him.

Well, another healing vs healing matchup i see. He has some hard CC tho. Knockup ( xenzhaocombotarget.png ) and a knockback if he plays it correctly ( xenzhaoparry.png ). If that wasn't enough, he has a jump ( xenzhaosweep.png ) to get away from you if he wants to.

154_64.png has been nerfed quite a bit, you can 1v1 him but this is only to pop his passive. just leave and come back in a minute or 2.

Matchups - More info Back to Top

Even though you see alot of Hard and Medium matchups.

This is only because those junglers are strong if you chose to fight them.
You can just sit back and farm you own jungle and gank your lanes if you want to.

For example:
23.png vs 75.png
I'm fairly certain that 23.png wins this one most of the time.
But if you are ganking lanes, this is diffrent!


If he ganks a lane first and you countergank him.

He has either used his ult to gank the lane first and survive for you to countergank him OR he has failed his gank in the first place.

If you gank a lane first and he counterganks you.

Then you either made the enemy flash, back, low or dead to start off with and you end up with a 2v1 situation ( 3v2 3v1 2v2 or 2v1 if botlane gank ) and you have the advantage. If he still engages, you wither him cause he'll be going for the laner most likely cause he's easier to kill then a tank 75.png. Then you just wither him and try to kill him. If the laner if ranged, 23.png will have to ult ( R - undyingrage.png ) fairly fast and his countergank failed.

As you can see the matchup GREATLY differs from each situation and the matchups above are mainly just a general opinion of the matchup.

Why is Nasus jungle good? Back to Top

I'll explain this realy short. Everyone knows toplane 75_64.png is better than jungle 75_64.png. BUT if you are toplane against a ranged burst/poke champion such as 85_64.png126_64.png, ... Then you'll have a realy bad time early on. However, when you are jungle 75_64.png, you can pretty much freefarm. Also, every jungle camp has a big monster: a large monster or a large creep gives 6 stacks instead of 3. This way you'll get more stacks from lane then from jungle, but you get more assured farm from the jungle then from lane. Also with the S4 changes, the jungle will get more or equal gold then toplane from just farm.


HOW TO GET STRONG!

The best way to let a jungle 75_64.png get strong is to let every single lane just FARM AND PLAY SAFE. This way 75_64.png can farm peacefully and get some easy and good ganks. This isn't reccomended since you are probably going to play this is SOLOQ BUT you can always ask your lanes to play safer to get your own jungle going and carry the game.

I've recently found out that 75_64.png is almost as strong in the jungle then in toplane. In fact, I like jungle 75_64.png more then toplane. This is maybe because in toplane, you get a little more pressure on the 1v1 earlygame and to me, if you need a gank in toplane and you'll be a tank. You are losing lane. THIS IS MY VISION OF TOPLANE!

What do you need to do in the earlygame?


We all know 75_64.png has an INSANE lategame. But what do we do in the earlygame?
We stack and farm.


But how do we stack?


This is just your personal feeling. I personaly like to just see how much damage my auto attack does and then i just watch and time to use my Q to last hit. It gets better with practice. After a little while, u can just farm without looking at your screen. This gives you time to look over the map and REMEMBER WARD spots like toplane bush, dragon wards, ect... Also this gives you time to look at all the timers and allows you to prepare for the next 'objective'.


What do you build if behind?


If you are behind, just stick to your plan but think abouth what you buy. If you are against an AP heavy champion build some MR, if ur against an AD champion, build armor. This seems normal. If you don't have any invades from the enemy jungler/team, then just go whatever you want but still keep in the back of your mind that you will have to face your enemies sometime in the game.


What do you build if ahead?


If you are ahead and can kill ur opponents, delay ur 3057_32.png. You will get a later power spike, but you will have an unexpected powerspike as i like to call it. Also, rush some CDR in items like 3067_32.png or 3024_32.png for better and more stacking. If you can't kill ur opponents but you realy want to, you can go for a early 3057_32.png but this isn't reccomended by myself. My friends think this is a good choice cause u get dominance over the whole map, but it eats abouth a 30 stacks each 5 minutes. This isn't alot, but your main goal is to get stacks and dominate lategame as hard as possible.

What if a gank goes wrong? Back to Top

If you gank a lane and you mess up something or the lane wasn't ready to get ganked. Leave a ward in their bushes if they didn't have one already.

Also, don't forget to go and help them out again if you realy messed up. They will get back into the game and you can go and focus on other lanes after that.

These are the wards that you can place on blue side:

NOTE: If you do not have a pink ward but you have good vision but just not in that bush, go ahead and pop your trinket there! It's a temporary solution for that place and you can go back and grab a pink to put it there and solve the problem that way.

Why don't I go full tank 75_64.png?


Well, if you have 1200 stacks on your Q, then you normaly would think that you do atleast 1200 damage or not? well, when the enemy's buy alot of armor against you, then you do ALOT less damage if you don't have any penetration at all. So i give up 1 item ( most of the times it's an armor item, but try to avoid getting 350+ armor ) to get some penetration. This is not recommended or needed on 75_64.png, but then your not just a tank and you haven't been sitting in the jungle stacking for nothing.

3078_32.png and 3025_32.png:
Why would you pick a 3078_32.png over a 3025_32.png. My answer is: 10% crit chance you get from 3078_32.png VS 30% slow you get from 3025_32.png. I personaly prefer the 30% slow more then the 10% crit chance simply because lately i've been going 3267_32.png instead of any other boots. This means the extra movement speed from 3078_32.png and 3267_32.png isn't that great compared to the movement speed increase from 3267_32.png + the 30% slow from 3025_32.png. Also the slow let's your team catch up with the enemy while you can stick to then and kep on slowing them with auto's and withers.


3065_32.png and 3102_32.png:
Personaly, I don't like 3102_32.png, unless in some extreme circumstances. Also, 3065_32.png gives 20% selfhealing, lifesteal, spell vamp and health regen. This makes the passive from 75_64.png not give 20% lifesteal at lvl 18, but 22%. This isn't a whole lot, but the health regen also get's buffed a bunch. e.g. It's realy late into the game, and you think a 3083_32.png would be a good item to use. then the item doesn't just give 1% of max hp/sec, but it gives 1.2%. Again, this isn't alot of diffrence, but in the end it all sums up to extra sustain in teamfights. But if the enemy team has some HARD CC ( 89_64.png25_64.png, ect. ) you might want to get a 3102_32.png just for safety :)


3143.png and 3110_32.png:
Again, if you use alot of mana in the jungle or before you go into teamfights, then buy 3110_32.png since it gives 400 Mana AND more armour then 3143.png. BUT 3143.png is better when the opponents have alot of mixed damage since it gives 500 HP extra. I also buy 3143.png when my champion doesn't use any mana at all like 266_64.png154_64.png102_64.png, ...


3143.png and 3742.png

Honestly, 3742.png is alot stronger then 3143.png simply because 3742.png gives either movement speed or damage. The stats are a little bit worse, but the other bonusses it gives are alot stronger.


Why do I make a seperate topic over these items?
It's just because people like some items over other items, even tho the items they pick might be worse. This is just to tell the diffrence between 3078_32.png and 3025_32.png3065_32.png and 3102_32.png3143.png and 3110_32.png3143.png and 3742.png

02/02/2016  IT HAS BEEN AGES AND I'M BACK! I had honestly forgotten that i even had this and i'll try to make up for it as soon as possible with a fully updated guide! Patch 6.2 update is here and it still needs improving but here's the itembuild and masteries for now. Will update more later on! Also, thanks for the 222.2k views!

03/02/2016  Well, the matchups have been updated and there is some more explenation on what the matchup difficulty actualy means for me. Also some more item updates and a new section to Item selection on 3143.png and 3742.png. More updates soon ( i hope, no guarantees )
05/02/2016  Added a summoner spell ( 12.png ) and also, apparently this is the only jungle specific Nasus jungle guide on lolking anymore. Anyways, I'm going to try and make a video on how to clear your jungle in the earlygame because i've seen a couple of people struggle alot to clear their jungle and gank without backing.

06/02/2016  Added another section to the guide and saw that i can't type at all... Apperently i spell 'wrong ' as 'whrong' and i spell 'viewing' as 'vieuwing' and loads more. MY BAD!
