Summoner Spells Back to Top

180.png

4.png12.png 'The one and only'

Pretty much the standard choice for 90% of toplaners nowayad, Nasus makes no exeption.

12.png Is usefull early on, if you are getting too bullied, later on for flanks and even for splitpushing.
4.png Come on you know what flash does right?
179.png

6.png 'It's not bad but...'

But flash teleport is so essential that ghost is getting outclassed, with the amount of kiting in the current states of the game (items/champion's dashes/cc's) ghost has slowly become a subpar choice.

6.png The only time i could actually think of taking ghost if the enemy team has really low mobility and 0 dashes. Then it becomes relevant and usefull.

New Runes Back to Top

180.png

Grasp%20of%20the%20Undying.png?width=64 Grasp Of The Undying

Pretty much mandatory and it's the strongest rune on Nasus by far.

179.png
Perseverance.png?width=32 Unflinching

Since nasus has mobility issues and it's really countered by slows, cc i feel like this point is the best suited for him.

179.png

Conditioning.png?width=32 Conditioning

As nasus you will really start to group later in the game. This is the option out of the other 3.

179.png

Second%20Wind.png?width=32 vs Overgrowth.png?width=32

Usually i do prefer Second%20Wind.png?width=32 since Nasus has a really hard time in most of the lanematchups early on. If you are facing some easier matchup Overgrowth.png?width=32 is way better.

179.png

Precision vs Inspiration

Overheal.png?width=32Legend%20Tenacity.png?width=32 Are more teamfight oriented. Nasus makes good use of both this runes

Magical%20Footwear.png?width=32Cosmic%20Insight.png?width=32 This is simple a valuable choice. Boost for free after 10 mins (also with 10 more mov speed) and reduced cooldowns. Always a good pickup in any situation.

nasuse.png over nasusq.png Pros & Cons

I feel like this is the most discussed. Some people max nasuse.png first, other people put early 3 points on nasuse.png before maxing nasusq.png and some other people straight up max nasusq.png first. As always, i will give you some tips on what's the purpose of nasuse.png & nasusq.png.

nasusq.png Q

  • Gives you the abilities to reach higher stacks sooner.
  • Is less mana dependent.
  • Is a good trading tool vs melees.

nasuse.png E

  • Gives you way better waveclear.
  • Maxing it first or even just putting more points early (3/4) is really beneficial vs ranged matchup (17.png 85.png 133.png) since they will deny you the ability to cs freely.

That's pretty much it, choose your path considering your enemy laner and your playstyle.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Core Items

Example of a good lategame build

Situational Items

    Other viable items
    Items that i won't recommend
180.png

1054.png Best staring item

At the moment i feel like Dshield is the best starting items, it gives you the sustain to hold the lane against pretty much anyone.

1056.png Viable if..

If you are planning on maxing nasuse.png or getting some early points on it could be a viable choice. It gives you a bit more damage and also mana regen that nasus needs if he want to spam nasuse.pngs.

179.png

3078.png vs 3025.png 'Sheen Dilemma'

3025.png In my opinion is really situational, it's still viable

vs

3078.png Gives nasus an insane powerspike so it's to prefer in the current meta

179.png

3065.png Core Item

The best Magic Resist item for Nasus. It has cdr the best stat on nasus plus a juicy passive that will amplify the effectivness of your passive. A core/mustbuy item

179.png

Good items

3053.png Gives you more base ad, so more damage and a pretty usefull shields that scales well with the resistances of your ult
3075.png After the recent changes this item ramped up and became always a must for any tanky fighter, it just helps so much having hp/armor/a free grevious wounds
3800.png Serves the purpose of catching up people. Gives you a lot of mobility. Usually a good buy

179.png

Viable items

3083.png Synergizes well with your ult that gives you resistance. The passive is huge but nasus has an inbuilt sustain on his passive so most of the time it can result not as usefull
3140.png If you are getting eaten alive by those cc's this is a worth buy
3143.png Pretty strong against multiple crit champions team comp (e.g. 157.png - 51.png)
3194.png Pretty good vs dot champions or champion that spam the same ability multiple times (e.g. 17.png 50.png 69.png)
3742.png If you feel like you need more armor instead of 3800.png you can go with this item

179.png

Noob traps/Not recommended

3068.png Interesting item but... it messes up pretty bad your cs/stacks
3074.png or 3748.png Same as above
3512.png Used to be pretty good now it's not so great. It can serve the purpose of defending your base if you have 2 or more inhibs down tho

VS

Aatrox

Medium
You should always respect him especially early on.
  • 266.png Is stronger than you pre 6.
  • aatroxq.png Be really carefull about it
  • nasusw.png Can fuck up Aatrox really bad
  • aatroxe.png Depend if it maxes it or not you have to be really carefull trying to dodge as many as possible
After you get your core items and some stacks he will have not a single chance to 1v1 you.

VS

Camille

Medium

I feel like this matchup is in your favour if you consider some things:

  • 164.png Is stronger than you pre 6, even after 6 you still have to be carefull.
  • 164.png Short trade potential is great vs you. Don't get poked too much and eventually give up some cs if you have to
  • camillew.png Try to dodge as many as possible and when not possible try to not get hit by the edge of it.
Like most of the matchup after you get to build your core items and some nasusq.png stacks she will have no chance.

VS

Cho'Gath

Medium

This should be a pretty easy matchup but chogath with a silence feralscream.png and a knockup rupture.png can be pretty annoying.

  • You should be able to sustain his feralscream.pngrupture.png poke
  • You NEED to ward around, always be aware if a gank is coming
  • Don't use nasusr.png too late or you will regret it because his feast.png damage is pretty much instant
After the first back this lane should become a farm fest since you both have inbuilt sustain on your kits.

VS

Darius

Hard

Darius can be a pain to deal with, his passive makes him a pretty scary duelist for you. You will outscale him eventually but it will take time and well.. pain.

  • Let him push early on and cs under tower, that's the best way to not die.
  • Be carefull on the range of his dariusaxegrabcone.png
  • If trading try to not get hit by the edge of his dariuscleave.png
  • Don't ever try to trade with him early on, focus on farm.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Easy

This matchup is a farm fest

  • Dodge as many infectedcleavermissilecast.png as possibile
And that's pretty much it.

VS

Fiora

Medium

Early on fiora is stronger than you. Your goal is to survive early on and sustain as much as you can.

  • Reset vitals if you are able to
  • Don't nasusw.png when she fioraw.png
  • Be really carefull when she pops fiorar.png on you. If you are not sure about fighting her just nasusw.png her and walk away.
You will probably have to match her splipush later on but you should be okay doing so.

VS

Gangplank

Easy

This matchup is pretty easy as long as you don't die/get too much poked early on

  • He is stronger than you early on. Try not to get poked too much by his gangplankqwrapper.png
  • Always consider his gangplankw.png when diving, trading with him
  • Try to use your nasusw.png when his gangplankw.png in on cd
After your core items he should not be able to even come near you.

VS

Garen

Medium

Garen is a pain early on, he can pretty much always outtrade you.

  • Let him push
  • garenq.png is a lot of damage also it will be followed by garene.png so try to make him waste it on minions, if he do so you can actually farm
After the first back he will still be unkillable for you but you will be able to match him. So keep farming your stack and eventually you will outscale him

VS

Gnar

Hard

Gnar is a pain in the ass. I would suggest you to not pick Nasus into him but well if you have to play this lane..

  • nasuse.png Max is actually not bad at all in this matchup
  • He can kite you forever with gnarq.png and his gnarw.png movement speed
  • Give up minions and farm what you can
After you get to the midgame you should be able to sustain his damage, unless you fed him kills early on.

VS

Gragas

Medium

Gragas has some good base damages. Play the lane carefully.

  • Be carefull about his cc's gragase.png gragasr.png
  • Gragas is pretty good at setting up ganks
  • A good thing about graggy is all his abilities are AOE that means he will naturally push the lane into your tower.
After getting spirit visage this lane should be way easier.

VS

Heimerdinger

Hard

Just... well... fuck this, dodge.

  • Actually maxing nasuse.png and maybe getting some AP 1056.png 1082.png might help
  • You can stack his heimerdingerq.png with your nasusq.png... Yeah pretty usefull right? <.<

VS

Irelia

Medium

Irelia has a better early and has a good transition into midgame.

  • Don't fight her early on
  • nasusw.png her ireliahitenstyle.png and you will be fine
  • Be aware, his damage at 6 is pretty high and it can catch you offguard
Stack and outscale her

VS

Jax

Easy

Jax has a weak early game aswell and you basically counter his kit with your nasusw.png.

You can match him pretty well since you still scale better than him.

VS

Jayce

Hard

Like every ranged matchup fuck it.

  • Don't feed, that's pretty much the first thing you HAVE TO DO
  • Ping roams since eventually if you play safe he will try to roam
  • Dodge as many jaycetotheskies.png (ranged form) as possible
You will still outscale him and you will still be able to face him later on. Your task is really to farm as much as possible and to not feed.

VS

Kayle

Hard

Thank god pretty much no one play kayle top.

  • Ask for your jungler help, she has no dashes and she's pretty squishy early on
  • She will push you out with her judicatorrighteousfury.png and that's good

VS

Kennen

Medium

The 'easier' of the 'ranged matchups'.

  • Dodge has many kennenshurikenhurlmissile1.png as possible
  • Try to make him waste his empowered auto kennenbringthelight.png on creeps
  • Farm and build Magic resist
After a while you will almost be able to ignore him

VS

Kled

Medium

You might have some problems early on. Kled is heavily reliant on his kledw.png so if you late him waste it on minions you should be fine.

  • Farm as much as possible
  • Build armor
Lategame you will be way stronger than him.

VS

Malphite

Easy

Farm fest.

  • Be aware of ganks, after level 6 malphite ufslash.png is a pretty good setup
  • After his 6 try to contest his pushing power, not letting him roam for free
In midgame and after building some magic resist you should be able to almost ignore him

VS

Maokai

Medium

Farm fest. Maokai has an excellent kit to set up ganks for his jungler. So be really aware of that. (that's also why i classified this matchup as medium)

VS

Pantheon

Medium

Hard matchup early on that get's way easier as the time passes

  • Leave cs if you have to
  • Be really carefull about his roam with his pantheonrjump.png
  • Try to not take too many pantheonq.png to the face (easier said than done)
As the time passes you get stronger and stronger and he will be no longer able to face you.

VS

Poppy

Easy

You just have to be carefull about some things.

  • Dont get near walls. poppye.png Can fuck you pretty bad
  • poppyr.png Could be used also to setup ganks
  • poppyq.png Is a lot of damage, try to never take the second part of the damage
Eventually she will never be able to kill you but if she's not that bad you won''t be able to kill her aswell.

VS

Quinn

Hard

Fuck quinn, if possible i would suggest you to dodge.

There's nothing you can do until later in the game (which most of the time you will still be so behind that it won't matter)

Try to farm as much as possible and ask for help.

VS

Renekton

Medium

The two brothers facing each other.

  • 58.png Is hands down way stronger than you early game
  • Don't try to trade with him early on let him push and control the lane while stacking
After some items he won't be a problem anymore and you will be able to 1v1 him with ease.

VS

Riven

Medium

Never Never Never underestimate a Riven.

She has way better levels 1-5 and she has also an edge at level 6.

Farm and stack untill you get enough levels/farm/stack/armor to match her.

After a certain points she won't be able to deal with you anymore.

VS

Rumble

Hard

Depends on Rumble skill and ability.

  • rumbleflamethrower.pngrumblegrenade.png are soooo annoying to deal with
  • rumblecarpetbomb.png is also annoying since you have no dashes beside your 4.png to get out of it
Before you get atleast a double mr item he will be an hard lane opponent.

VS

Shen

Easy

Farm fest.

  • If he uses shenr.png most of the time it's worth to fast push the lane with nasuse.png and even nasusr.png and fast take his tower.
  • Don't trade inside his shenw.png. You will lose it
After a while shen will not be able to hold you anymore. At that point you are free to ignore him.

VS

Singed

Easy

Depends on how he plays.

  • If he play proxy singed just build some armor to tank the creeps and enjoy your freestack
  • If he play a normal lane build some mr instead and sustain his damage

VS

Swain

Hard

He has the perfect kit to kite you around.

Depend on how he play it could be a pain or slightly less of a pain.

Eventuallty  you will be able to hold him after some magic resist items.

VS

Teemo

Hard

You can't really do much

  • Cs and stack as much as you can
  • Build mr real fast
  • Ask for your jungler help

VS

Trundle

Hard

Trundle is actually a better dualist than you. Is early game is  also superior

  • trundlepain.png Is literally the count of your nasusr.png so don't fight when you are getting ulted
  • If his trundlepain.png is on cd and you have enough stacks you can kill him
  • He is immobile so asking your jungler help might lead to some kills
The lanematchup itself isn't that hard to play but eventually he will counter your trought the game.

VS

Tryndamere

Easy

Be really carefull about his crit early in the game.

After a while he won't be able to do anything to you and you will almost ignore him.

VS

Vladimir

Medium

He is annoying but you can actually hold him since his early game isn't that good.

  • Sustain most of his damage by lifestealing on minions
  • Build a fast spirit visage
  • Do not understimate his all in potential
After a while you will be able to actually match while he probably won't be able to stop you from pushing.

VS

Wukong

Medium

Be really carefull early game. If he gets a kill on you things could go badly really fast

VS

Yasuo

Easy

Just respect his early game, respect his damage and farm and stack, after a while he will become a juicy freekill.

VS

Yorick

Medium

Farm farm farm farm, you can also stack on his gouls.

After a while you will become an unkillable machine and he won't be able to match you.

  • yorickr.png Be really carefull about it. If needed just back off from fighting him
  • yorickw.png Remember to auto it 2 times to break it. Nasus has no way of escaping it otherwhise
  • yoricke.png Sending you all the gouls it's a good amount of damage, don't underestimate it

Read before going into matchups ! Back to Top

180.png

General mindset for laning phase

Nasus has a very weak lanephase, before 6 he has pretty much no presence. If you are forced to lose minions do so without being to worried about it. Generally after 6 and after the first back, nasus starts to get scared and he starts to be able to deal with other laners.

179.png

Stacking nasusq.png early on

There's a general missconception about Nasus. Nasus stack potential is way higher as the time passes since his nasusq.png will get lower cooldown and you will start building cdr items. Said so it's really not a big deal if you use nasusq.png to trade and control the lane early on.

179.png

Stacking nasusq.png vs Farming

Another missconception is that stacking nasusq.png is even more important than farming minions. That's simply not true. So even when playing as Nasus prioritize farming correctly WHILE stacking your nasusq.png
Aim at ~300 stacks ~20 mins. Also in the lategame most of the time is better to push a wave out to create pressure instead of farming minions one by one with nasusq.png.

127.jpg

Abilities explanations Back to Top

180.png

nasuspassive.png Passive

NASUS PASSIVE.png

  • Pretty much self explanatory. Nasus gains lifesteal.
  • 10/15/20% lifesteal at levels 1/7/13

179.png

nasusq.png Q

NASUS Q.png

  • Your bread and butter spell and the reason nasus is actually a monster lategame
  • It can be used to reset auto attack timers
  • Tower also grants stacks so if you have the possibility always choose to lasthit it
179.png

nasusw.png W

NASUS W.png

  • Your only catchup skill.
  • Pretty usefull to escaping a gank.
  • Can completely neutralize an adc later in the game
179.png

nasuse.png E

NASUS E.png

  • Deals a good amount of damage if maxed
  • If maxed it can be a good waveclear
  • It reduces the enemy armor, so placing it in a good spot is crucial
179.png

nasusr.png R

NASUS R.png

  • The skill that makes you almost unkillable 1v1
  • Gives you hp/resistances/50% reduced cd on your Q
  • Given all those benefits you have to use this as first
  • You can turn ganks pretty easily if you have it up
127.jpg

Nasus role and tips Back to Top

180.png

Nasus Role

Nasus is a hybrid between a fighter and a tank. You will build him tank and you will essentially be a giant rock while still dishing out some good damages.
Your role is to survive the early game as good as you can while translating into mid/lategame becoming a true monster.

179.png

Tips

  • nasusq.png is an auto attack cancel, you can auto and nasusq.png right after to save time cancelling your first auto
  • nasuse.png is usually overlooked, try to place it in the best spot possible as it helps shredding armored champions
  • nasusr.png Gives you resistances, flash hp aswell as reducing your nasusq.png cooldowns. So use it as first when you want to fight someone
  • nasusw.png Is a catchup tool as well as an escape tool, slow the annoying targets and they will never catch up to you, ever.
127.jpg

Pro & Cons, Why would i play Nasus Back to Top

180.png

Pros

  • Great Lategame
  • One of the best 1v1 champion in the game
  • 'Infinite' scaling
  • Can kill towers REALLY quick
  • Somehow satisfing to press nasusq.png
  • Inbuilt sustain
  • Deals a lot of damage while building tank items
179.png

Cons

  • One of the worst early game
  • Can be kited to death
  • Not so great teamfights
  • Realiant on nasusq.png stacks
  • No dashes/escapes
179.png

Why would you play Nasus?

If you are a pretty chill dude that loves doing your business and likes to farm Nasus might be the champion for you.
If you are searching for a champion with strong lanephase and strong game presence early/midgame do not even attempt to play it.

127.jpg

HIGHEST WINRATEO NASUS SETUP/BUILD (PATCH 7.24) Back to Top

180.png

So the following setup for Nasus has a ridicoulous winrateo over the normal nasus builds with grasp. It's honestly just beyond broken ATM and i suggest you to try this out before it will get nerfed (because i'm pretty sure it will). If you don't believe me go check out winrateos/game played on sites like op.gg or champion.gg

179.png

- RUNES -

nasus.png

So basically page is based on gold gaining and scaling. Klepto is incredibly strong on nasus and so is the inspiration tree.

179.png

- Item Build -

3301.png Ancient coin

Rav are you drunk? No i'm not.

3301.png This item gives you more gold income. It keeps generating gold trought the game and also it forgives you for missing cs. This build works because it gives you a lot of golds early on so it reduce the early part of the game where nasus struggles.

This item also updates in 3069.png which gives you armor and a great speed boost that always helps.

You can upgrade ancient coin as a first second or third item.

179.png

- How to play with Klepto -

This is the most frequent question. I'll give you a simple answer. If you can harrass your enemy with your q without missing CS go for it. If getting a Q off means missing on or more lasthit do not go for it. Also don't stress too much stacking your Q early game. You will have time to stack it later on with more cdr/q ranks.

179.png

- When to not pick this build -

Basically vs ranged with heavy harrass potential 85.png 133.png and so on. You wont be able to utilize your Kleptomancy.png?width=32.

About me and my other guides ! Back to Top

I started to play lol early in the days (half of the season 1), finished bronze (s1) gold (s2) diamond (every other season) i didn't really try to get higher since i think it would require me too much time.

I like to create guides and contents so expect some other guides coming soon, i don't have any stream or social media.

I appriciate you taking the time to read untill here ! Have a good day and thank you !
