Summoner Spells Back to Top

Teleport is AMAZING for team fights. Teams wanting to get dragon but can't due to pressure? Teleport down and help them secure objectives. Teleport is used for the more objective side of the game. I strongly prefer it. It also gives you the advantage of being able to roam. For example if bot lane has over extended and your bot have the bottom bushes warded, teleport down and claim yourself a nice healthy double kill.

Ignite is used simply just to crush your laning enemy. I strongly prefer using this against people like counters. For example akali, Riven, Darius etc etc. The reason i like to use it vs counters is so that if i 1v1 them to death for first blood or first kill via top lane, ignite will strongly benefit you as it does damage over time. More than they could account for. Ignite is good for fighting, take it vs Counters, or if you seriously want to crush lane. But remember you want have as much pressure on the game as you would teleport.

Flash, not ghost. Why? Flash can be used to dodge so many things, For example, J4 comes flying in with his E,Q and you enemy laner is on like 50hp from your battle, you can flash over J4''s E,Q and kill him, followed by you running into a bush for the increased movement speed. Flash is also useful to dodge skill shots, to create epic plays and to save you from other people making plays. Always take flash.

The only real reason you get spear second instead of heal is because you can actually kill the majority of the people who you are laning against at level 2. You simply do this by hitting your spear. Turn into cougar form then W and Q them, followed by a switch into human form and poke followed by spear...etc etc...

Maxing Q rather than E is quite risky...but so worth it. You're burst damage is just incredible with Max Spear comparing to a max heal. Max heal if you want to be auto attacking more frequently, faster but you'll be missing out on so much burst.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Take Cloth Armor when you're vsn people who counter you in lane/ do a lot of damage.. For example Pantheon, Riven.
    And obviously...a ward...

Core Items

Trinity Force with Void Staff is a deadly combo, you can pretty much one hit people.
Iceborn gauntlet is good, many people don't know whether or not to go Gauntlet, or Tri-Force. Gaunter gives you CC, with the AOE slow, as well as 30 Ability Power, 10% CDR and 60 armor. It also has great wave clear aswell as being able to kite enemy champions. Void staff goes extremely well with this item, leaving your enemy speechless.
Okay so some people might be thinking that i'm crazy, and that why would you even build this, ( the sheen passive doesn't stack ). But hear me out...Tri-Force gives you 30 Ability Power, combine that with the Iceborn and the void staff, you get 130 Ability Power. Not only that but your void staff ignores 35% of the enemy's magic resist, this will literally make you hit like you have a Deathcap. What makes this even more deadly is the fact that you have that much AP, with the AOE slow from the Gauntlet, If you're still not intrigued...go try it out, you'll understand what i mean...When people ask why you built Tri & Gauntlet, just say "Hey, i 1 hit you didn't i" Literally...
Okay so Merc Treads are more or less if the enemy team has a lot of CC, for example Veigar Stun, Morgana's Bind, WHICH STILL LASTS FOR EVER !! Ninja Tabi is if your laning enemy is doing damage to you, but i don't see how they can when Nidalee win's 80%+ of most of the champions that play at top, that and having Gauntlet gives your armor. But if you need it, get it. Sorcs Boots are amazing. Once you have either Iceborn and Voidstaff or TriForce and Voidstaff, Hell ever TriForce, Iceborn, Voidstaff, Sorcs Boots will literally annihilate them. Think of Rumble, with Haunting Guise and Sorcs boots with 50% heat...yeah, that much damage but instantly, it's pretty rediculous

Situational Items

Now ofcorse the tanky items. Why randuins over sunfire? The fact that it slows down enemy attack speed, aswell as the passive slowing enemies down just makes it easier for you to spear, pounce E, Q them. Spirit visage is nice for the CDR, i mean c'mon, who doesn't love some CDR. I usually only get Banshee's when they have a Morgana, a Thresh or a Blitzcrank who lands every grab/hook/bind known to mankind...seriously thats annoying. But Banshee's should make that easier for you.
I guess blade of the ruined king is still good, but i don't really know, considering Nidalee's AA got nerfed, this seems kind of pointless, not doing much AA damage n'all. However, if you are laning against a Vladimir, Irelia or Aatrox, your probably gonna wanna grab yourself one of these, so you can keep up with how much hp they're getting back ( using heal 24/7 is not a good idea )
Ravenous Hydra literally makes your burst Twice as entertaining, Giving you the lifesteal and the AOE Damage is fantastic, Especially in teamfights.

VS

Akali

Hard

Try and kill this bitch as much as you can before she hits 6...Literally as soon as she hits 6, she will dominate you. Best advice would be try and freeze the lane as much as you possibly can, that way she has to come to you and you can deal damage.

VS

Darius

Medium

You spear him, you go all in, try to put all damage on him in which you can. You try and run away, he pulls you back. Flings his axe about and ults you...Again, wait for the jungler to come to help you.

VS

Fiora

Hard

She can block your Q damage from cougar, which is a lot of burst, then she can turn around Q Q you and ult, and most likely win, Best advice would be to wait till you have Gauntlet and voidstaff before you go in...Ninja Tabi would be recommended for this lane, for sure.

VS

Irelia

Hard

She can all in you levels 4+ And if she's maxing her E first, well your gonna but stood there like a clueless kitty. She applies damage leaving you not being able to even return any back because she stuns you. Ninja Tabi is recommended for this lane. As well as asking your jungler to come and help you shut her down. Don't ever think you can take her at level 6. Unless your jungler has been nice to you and gave you 2/3 kills. Irelia makes you think you can beat her 1v1 with low hp, but as soon as she ults, dat hp return...You're going to be left face palming yourself. Also she gets a power spike once she gets tri-force, be careful, very hard lane.

VS

Pantheon

Hard

He can pretty much negate all of your damage from you Q when you have a mark on him, this makes it hard and leaving you to auto attack him, in cougar form ( when you go in on him ) just to get the damage off, but by then he's left you on half if not less hp. Best advice would just be to wait till he over extends and get your jungler to gank you.

VS

Riven

Hard

She'll push lane harder than you, get level 2 faster than you, then go in on you, leaving you on like 10% hp, forcing you to back and losing a tonne of xp. As well as her getting 6, she has the power to just all in you, and if you dont have flash...gg. Just wait for the jungler to come, get 1 or 2 kills on her, just to make sure you're ahead and you should be fine. But never ever underestimate riven's damage output. Even if your 1 or 2 kills ahead...

Matchups & Some Tips Back to Top

That's pretty much the only people you're gonna struggle against in lane...But with practice you should be fine. Bruiser Nidalee is a hard champion/play style to master. Even i have not mastered it. But i'd thought i would make this guide to show you what i've got so far. There are other laners who can go even, Renekton, J4 etc. But you should dominate them once you get your core items, so if you're scared of them, just wait till you get you core items and you should be able to apply some damage.

Another thing is to use your heal when you're taking down towers. If you have tri you're going to be wanting to take down towers / split pushing. If you've went iceborn then you're gonna be wanting to clear waves of minions and proxy. ( As you haven't got extra AD ). If you've listened to my Tri-Force with Iceborn, then you can wave clear. Anyone who comes up to try and stop you, Chuck a spear in their ass and kill them. Then take the tower! If you've went for Tri-Force with Blade of the ruined king, this is literally the ultimate split pushing machine. Combining the damage in which Nidalee will have, and using the heal for attack speed, you'll be taking down towers like there's no tomorrow.

Thanks for reading the guide, i hope it helped you in many ways, obviously if i find out new things or if you have any questions about the build or lane ups, Leave a question and i'll reply whenever i can. Be sure to add what you think works on nidalee! Masteries, Runes etc etc. As i said i'm still learning so i'm open to all of your opinions / playstyle.
