Summoner Spells Back to Top

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

With rylai's being the previous core item, I personally like taking stormraiders to compensate. This is personal preference and Thunderlords is most likely better. I take greenfathers over dangerous game, mostly for clearspeed but also because it's more fun (Again, dangerous game is likely better)

tl;dr Thunderlords>Stormraiders but stormraiders more fun

Traps generally got nerfed, used to be better to start them but now it is not as good. Try to max range spear level 1 to get ~300 damage off spear and properly kite and use q as auto reset for maximum efficiency.  Other than that, standard Q max then E then W with points in R whenever possible.

Side note: If you're in a higher elo game and practiced on nidalee, you can get a leash on raptors first camp and start W with proper kiting, much harder to do overall, just requires proper kiting.

[STARTING ITEMS]

Refillable potion2031.pngis always better than 3 potions2003.png unless you are a low sustain jungler who is fine after their first clear (Rengar, Kha'zix, maybe Rek'sai)

[DARK SEAL]1082.png

Unless you feed first blood and already know it's gonna be a bad game, you want dark seal. It's a low-cost item that makes your refillable even stronger, while giving up to 45 ap. Few reasons not to pick it up at some point before finishing runic echoes.

[WHICH SMITE]1402.png1414.png1410.png

Tracker's Knife1410.png is overall best in most situations. You should constantly be in the enemy's jungle so placing some wards while you're there will be highly beneficial as long as you have map awareness. If you honestly never look at your map, Skirmisher's Sabre1414.png is most likely better. (I go red smite, blue smite sucks imo)

[BOOTS] 1001.png

Cdr boots3158.png are best in the majority of match-ups. Buy them soon after completing your Runic Echoes. On the rare occasion you are against a heavy cc team, buy merc treads3111.png, and if you are against 3 or more auto attack reliant champions go Ninja Tabi3047.png. (Sorc shoes3020.png are an option too, high damage)

[THE REST OF YOUR ITEMS]

The remainder of what you build is mostly up to you, and how the game is going. I highly recommend Iceborn3025.png into Liandry's3151.png  soon after your Runic Echoes1410.png, followed by Zhonyas 3157.pngor Abyssal3001.png(Not both, build either depending on game). Your remaining item slot is mostly up to you. Void Staff3135.png is needed if the enemy team has any magic resist, and the last item is up to you between (Don't sell dark seal1082.png until you can buy something else significant in your 6th item slot like blasting wand1026.png or more) Go void earlier if the enemy is stacking mr

Dodging his burst is key, maintain vision against him and don't get caught in the jungle.

Skill matchup, just be better than the enemy :D

Rengar's just busted overall, there's a chance you can outgank him early though.

Instructions Towards Success On Nidalee Back to Top

1. Do not try to go for fancy spears on ganks, look for guaranteed easy spears in order to get your mark. The cool max range spears can come later on when you have almost unlimited mana and high amounts of ap.

2. Counter jungle. Make your enemy feel as though he has nothing to farm, keep an eye on where he is. If he ganks top, counter jungle his bot side jungle, vice versa for him ganking bot. Denying your enemy jungler will provide you with a huge amount of pressure throughout the map, and set the enemy jungler behind.

3. Gank on power spikes. Red buff, completed items, level 6, etc... are all major power spikes on Nidalee and should be the points at which you look for ganks. Don't try to do some random level 5 gank with no buffs and only your hunter's talisman.

4. Gank lanes that have CC. Your spears are easier to hit if the enemy is slowed, snared, or stunned. A landed spear is often a burned enemy flash or a kill.

5. Farm. Don't play completely around ganks, you clear fast, abuse that. Gank only when lanes are pushed up, they have no summoners and/or on a powerspike.

6. AUTO ATTACK. If you run into a fight with the enemy jungler early on and you have red buff, kite and auto attack. You don't instantly have to go into melee range, you can abuse your range and go in when the enemy is low. Same applies for ganks. Abuse the red buff.

7. Use your leap pretty much every time it's up, that's a big reason as to why Nidalee is strong, you get around the map fast.

8. Understand you're often outscaled by other junglers. Get your lanes ahead and win early game, you have no cc, you fall off.

Follow these general steps and climbing on Nidalee should be relatively easy. Keep in mind it may take a few games to get used to her. Despite common belief, Nidalee is one of the hardest junglers to pull off at the moment. Thanks for taking the time to read my guide, hope it helps! For any specific questions, leave it in the comments and I'll try to get back to you.

Information Regarding Most Recent Patch [7.3] Back to Top

Nidalee was recently buffed, noticeable improvement but not overpowered. I generally like the state of Nidalee right now with Rengar and Kha'zix being nerfed, those are two major counters. With those champions being nerfed Nidalee is in a pretty good spot right now if played properly.

Visual assistance Back to Top

I aim to release a youtube video at some point in the near future to show efficient early clear, but I'm generally lazy. For specific questions you can add my account NídaIee (Copy paste it) But I will delete you soon after. If you're patient you can comment on this thread and I should get back to you within a day or two.
