Summoner Spells Back to Top

Summoner Spells

blue_line.png

4.png I recommend that you always take Flash on Nocturne. Flash is a very good Summoner Spell and it can be used in a variety of ways. Flash is a very reliable Summoner Spell that can be used to engage and disengage. It can also be used to Flash over dragon and baron pit to try and steal objectives!
blue_line.png
11.png Smite is the second Summoner Spell that you need to take on Nocturne. Because you're the Jungler, you need to take Smite to secure objectives such as Dragon or Baron. It is important to smite these buffs before the enemy Jungler. You can also use Smite to clear jungle camps and gain health back.

New Runes Back to Top

Nocturne Rune Breakdown

blue_line.png
For 56.png Nocturne I recommend taking Domination as your main Rune Tree. The first Rune you want to take is Electrocute.png?width=32 Electrocute. This Rune is incredibly strong on 56.png Nocturne because his kit and overall playstyle goes hand in hand with Electrocute.png?width=32 Electrocute. He can easily proc the extra damage from Electrocute as he can usually get off 3 stacks from his Auto attacks and abilities. Your second Rune should be Sudden%20Impact.png?width=32 Sudden Impact. 56.png Nocturne's nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate is considered a Dash, used in conjunction with your other Runes. You will be able to do insane amounts of damage whenever you cast and use your nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate. The next Rune you want to take is Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=32 Eyeball Collection, I believe this is rather self-explanatory- but this Rune is good and gives you extra damage throughout the game. Your final Rune should be Relentless%20Hunter.png?width=32 Relentless Hunter. This Rune will allow you to move around the map quicker with the bonus movement speed.
blue_line.png
56.png Nocturne has A-L-O-T of freedom with your second Rune tree. For this guide, I recommend taking Sorcery as the second tree. The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32 The Ultimate Hat is a very good Rune to take because it reduces the cooldown on your ultimate each time you use it. Because 56.png Nocturne relies so heavily on his nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate throughout the game, every little bit of Cooldown Reduction should be abused. 56.png Nocturne's main goal is to surprise, kill and destroy the enemies. Having a lower cooldown on your nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate will allow you to do so. The next and final Rune is Transcendence.png?width=32 Transcendence. The extra cooldown reduction is needed especially for the mid-game. This will reduce the cooldown on all your abilities.

Ability Rundown

blue_line.png

Nocturne's Passive is Umbra Blade

Screenshot_1.png

Nocturne's basic attacks periodically become enhanced. They sometimes deal extra damage to a target and all surrounding targets. He will deal extra AD physical damage and heal himself from each unit hit. Basic attacks reduce the cooldown on his passive.
blue_line.png

Nocturne's Q is Duskbringer

Screenshot_2.png

Nocturne sends a shadow blade in a line in front of him. It leaves a nocturneduskbringer.png Dusk Trail on its path dealing damage to enemies it passes through and hit. Enemies that pass through it leave another Dusk Trail behind them for 5 seconds.
If Nocturne walks on the Dusk Trail he gains bonus 1001.png movement speed and bonus attack damage.

dot-pattern.pngTips and Tricks dot-pattern.png
Your nocturneduskbringer.png Q is very good as it can be used to engage or disengage. It can help you get into team fights and get away if you use it and walk over it. Your nocturneduskbringer.png  Q does lots of damage, and I recommend maxing it first. During the early Jungle clears, try to get your nocturneduskbringer.png Q on as many monsters as possible. Remember to follow up and gain the  extra 1001.png movement speed by running on the Trail
blue_line.png

Nocturne's W is Shroud of Darkness

Screenshot_3.png

Passive: Nocturne gains bonus attack speed.
Active: Nocturne gains a sivire.png spell shield that lasts up to 1.5 seconds. Nocturne can block damage and any crowd control whilst this is active. For example,53.png Blitzcrank's rocketgrab.png Q, 412.png Thresh threshq.png Q, 98.png Shen shene.png E and any damaging ability. It acts as a 15.png Sivir sivire.png E.

dot-pattern.pngTips and Tricks dot-pattern.png
Your nocturneshroudofdarkness.png W is very versatile and it can be used in many different ways. The number one thing to remember about using this ability is not to waste it. When you go in for a trade or a gank, make sure to use this sivire.png spell shield on a damaging ability or a crowd control ability. It is important to use it on abilities that can stun you or knock you away when ganking- such as the one's I've listed above.
blue_line.png

Nocturne's E is Unspeakable Horror

1231s.png

Passive: Nocturne gains bonus 1001.png movement speed when moving towards fleeing targets.

Active: Nocturne focuses a target dealing damage and tethers on to them. After 2 seconds, if the enemy hasn't broken the tether between the two, the enemy will flee a short distance and be slowed.

dot-pattern.pngTips and Tricks dot-pattern.png
Whenever ganking a lane, you want to use your nocturneunspeakablehorror.png E and get on to the enemy. You should aim your nocturneduskbringer.png Q and follow directly on to them. An example combo would be nocturneunspeakablehorror.png E followed by nocturneduskbringer.png Q and auto attacks. The teather will not break if the enemy becomes immune or invisible such as3157.png  Zhonyas or 8.png Vladamir's  vladimirsanguinepool.png Pool. Your nocturneunspeakablehorror.png E will be your main source of Crowd Control so you must not waste it. Try to stay in teather range, and be prepared to use your nocturneshroudofdarkness.png W if the enemy has any form of CC.
blue_line.png

Nocturne's Ultimate is ParanoiaScreenshot_5.png

Nocturne applies nearsight to all enemy champions for 4 seconds. While nocturneparanoia.png Paranoia is active, he can activate it again and dash towards a target champion.

dot-pattern.png Tips and Tricks dot-pattern.png
Your nocturneparanoia.png ultimate is crucial for ganking. Make sure to only use it if you are in range of the enemy. It is important to always be in range when ulting. I do not wish to state how many times I've messed this nocturneparanoia.png ultimate up because I wasn't in range. Because you're taking Sorcery in your secondary Rune tree and taking The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32 The Ultimate Hat and Transcendence.png?width=32 Transcendence, you should use your nocturneparanoia.png  ultimate whenever you can.
blue_line.png

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

This is the best start for Nocturne. These items are good because they give him the sustain and the damage he needs to clear the early Jungle camps.

Core Items

Your first item is going to be your upgraded Jungle item. You want to pick up a Stalker's Blade or Skirmisher's Sabre. I personally prefer to get Stalker's Blade.
Your first major item is going to be your upgraded Jungle item. You can choose to take either Warrior or Bloodrazor. I prefer to take Bloodrazor on Stalker's Blade.
Your second item is going to be boots. You should get either Ninja Tabi or Mercury Treads. I do not recommend getting any other boots on Nocturne as no others are reliable.
Your third item should be Duskblade of Draktharr. It is a very good item as it gives AD, Leathality and Cooldown reduction. This item will allow you to snowball quickly.
For your fourth item, I recommend taking Youmuu's Ghostblade. Alternativly, you can buy a Maw of Malmortius if you're against fed AP team.
The 5th item is going to be Dead Man's Plate. Nocturne is quiet squishy and he will need some defensive items- especially in the later stages of the game.
Your final item should be Guardian Angel. This item gives you AD and defensive stats. We are using this item for the bonus damage and the passive. The passive is really strong and can turn team fights. It can also allow you to be reborn.
Example Full build 1: This is the main build that I have been running lately on Nocturne. It provides lots of damage and gives me defensive stats to survive in the later stage team fights. It also gives me oppertunities to snowball.
Example Build 2: This is a different kind of build but is still really strong. This build should be taken when you're against an enemy team that has lots of AP power. You will need MR to stay alive against their poke and damage.

Situational Items

Strong defensive it's if you're against heavy AP Team.
Strong defensive it's if you're against heavy AD Team.
Alternvative AD items that you could buy.

Nocturne Item Breakdown and Suggestions

blue_line.png

Before I go through the item breakdown and suggestions. The stuff that I suggest is from other guides, statistics and from my own personal experience. The item build that I use mainly is the one suggested in example 1 above.
I have had a lot of fun writing this guide and trying new things and items on Nocturne.

blue_line.png

For starting items you always want to start 1041.png Hunter's Machete and 2031.png Refillable Potion followed by your 3340.pngYellow Trinket. This is the standard start for 56.png Nocturne and I recommend always taking it. You want to always take the camp that you can receive a leash from. If you're blue side, then take Red buff first with a leash and if you're Blue side then take Blue buff with a leash. On your first back, you want around 650 gold- this is the minimum to get your first Jungle item upgraded. Your first item to be upgraded should be that. You want to get either 3706.png Stalker's Blade or 3715.png Skirmisher's Sabre. I personally prefer to take 3706.png Stalker's as it gives my 11.png smite another active and will allow me to deal extra damage to enemies during trades. It's rather personal experience and preference and I think that the 3706.png Blue Smite is a good one to take. With that said your first major item is going to be that one fully upgraded. Again, this is personal preference so take which you wish. Your first item is going to be Enchanted 1416.png Bloodrazor or 1400.png Warrior. Both of these items have their pros and their cons.

Both are really good to buy and work well on him. 1400.png Warrior provides early CDR which will allow you to Ult more often- it will also cap your CDR if you purchase this item. Alternatively, 1416.pngBloodrazor will give you attack speed which will allow you to take objectives quickly and attack more in trades. Like I said, both work so take your pick. Here are some recent games where I took each one of them.

example1a.pngexample1b.png
blue_line.png
Your second item should be 1001.png Boots. I recommend taking either 3111.png Mercury Treads or 3047.png Ninja Tabi. I would not recommend getting any other boots for two main reasons. The first being that they will fall of in the late game. Not literally, but in game, any other boots will eventually fall off and any bonuses you get from them will be practically useless. The second is that these boots are really strong and provide defensive stats. 56.png Nocturne doesn't have the greatest defensive capability, so having some defensive boots early will surely help him out in team fights and trades.  Your next item should be 3147.png Duskblade of Draktharr. This item is quiet good on him because it give 56.png Nocturne bonus attack damage and early cooldown reduction. I think i've plastered enough about how good cooldown reduction is and how you need to abuse it. Taking this item third is a great way to snowball quickly and efficently. You will also max CDR with this item. Your 4th item should be either 3142.png Youmuu's Ghostblade alternativly you can go 3156.png Maw of Malmortius. I would recommend going 3142.png Youmuu's if you have snowballed your game and are against a balanced team. If the enemy is heavily dependent on thier AP carry or they have multiple AP champions then you should get 3156.png Maw of Malmortius instead.

Your final two items is going to be 3742.png Dead Mans Plate followed by 3026.png Guardian Angel. 3742.png Dead Mans gives you defensive items that will allow you to stay alive for longer in team fights. They will also allow you to sustain for longer and overall be more of a threat and for longer. 3026.png Guardians angel gives you damage and some defensive stats too, but we are buying it mostly for its passive.

VS

Amumu

Easy

This is a good matchup for you. The general gist of this matchup is to power farm and try to counter Jungle if you see him on the other side of the map. Beware of his ultimate, use your W when he uses it. Amumu will be power farming, so you should try to take away whatever you can.

VS

Cho'Gath

Hard

This is a medium matchup however I am rating it hard because of how frustrating it can be. Cho'gath is very strong because of his early sustain and CC. Try your best to farm what you can and try to do objectives such as Dragon or rift herald when he is on the other side of the map when he cannot eat it.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Easy

This is an easy matchup for you as Dr.Mundo is useless early. He doesn't have the greatest of sustain thanks to his Kit and overall damage from the jungle monsters. You should try to invade him early and fight him when he is low. You can use your W on his Q.

VS

Elise

Medium

This is a decent matchup for you. Remember to use your W to block her cocoon. You win trades as long as you dodge her E or spell shield it. She doesn't have the strongest clear so try to invade. She will also gank alot so try to counter gank or steal the enemies camps on the other side of the map.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Easy

This is a good matchup because of Fiddlesticks' kit. Try your best to farm and fight him 1v1. Watch before you go in and waste his silence. If you go in and he uses his silence or his fear, use your W to counter it.

VS

Gragas

Easy

This is a decent matchup because the enemy is a tank. They will be ganking often so try your best to counter Jungle and invade them. Use your W to block their CC.

VS

Kayn

Hard

This is a hard matchup for you because the enemy champion has very good 1v1 potentual and can easily fight you. They are also AD and are prone to invading early. Try your best to avoid fighting them unless they are low or miss one of their abilities. As the enemy is really good at ganking early, try your best to counter Jungle them and steal their camps.

VS

Kha'Zix

VS

Malphite

Easy

This is a decent matchup because the enemy is a tank. Malphite is rather useless early so try to fight him. When he ults use your W.

VS

Master Yi

Hard

This is a hard matchup for you because the enemy champion has very good 1v1 potentual and can easily fight you. They are also AD and are prone to invading early. Try your best to avoid fighting them unless they are low. As the enemy is really good at ganking early, try your best to counter Jungle them and steal their camps.

VS

Poppy

Easy

This is generally a good matchup. Beware of your positioning near walls with her E and be careful thanks to her W. Her W can stop your ultimate.

VS

Rammus

Medium

This is a Medium matchup because Rammus has one ability that can completely take you out of the fight. This is frustrating but can be worked around. Make sure to use your spell shield just before they use it on you.

VS

Sejuani

Hard

Sejuani is a toughy for our Nocturne because of her kit and she has high amounts of CC. She will try to gank a lot so try to counter gank or steal the enemies camps on the other side of the map. Use your W on the enemies CC abilities and try your best to power farm.

VS

Shyvana

Easy

The enemy is very good at 1v1 oppertunities. Do not fight them unless they are low. Back off if you're low, they can catchup on you and easily kill them. Respect thier damage.

VS

Skarner

Medium

This is a Medium matchup because the enemy has one ability that can completely take you out of the fight. This is frustrating but can be worked around. Make sure to use your spell shield just before they use it on you. Practice makes perfect in countering Skarner's ultimate so practice makes perfect!

VS

Trundle

Medium

Trundle is a tough one, it can go either way. Trundle will also gank alot so try to counter gank or steal the enemies camps on the other side of the map. You can use your spellshield on his Q.

VS

Udyr

Easy

The enemy is very good at 1v1 oppertunities. Do not fight them unless they are low. Back off if you're low, they can catchup on you and easily kill them. Respect thier damage.

VS

Volibear

Easy

This is a good matchup for Nocturne however the enemy does have the health and defensive advantage. He can easily kill you, so try your best to avoid fighting him while he is healthy. You can try to fight him if he is low in the Jungle. If he goes to gank a lane try to counter gank or steal the enemies camps on the other side of the map.

VS

Warwick

Medium

The enemy is very good at 1v1 oppertunities. Do not fight them unless they are low. Back off if you're low, they can catchup on you and easily kill them. Respect thier damage.

VS

Xin Zhao

Medium

This is a medium matchup for you because the enemy champion has very good 1v1 potentual and can easily fight you. They are also AD and are prone to invading early. Try your best to avoid fighting them unless they are low or miss one of their abilities. As the enemy is really good at ganking early, try your best to counter Jungle them and steal their camps.

VS

Zac

Easy

This is a good matchup for Nocturne however the enemy does have the health and defensive advantage. He can easily kill you, so try your best to avoid fighting him while he is healthy. You can try to fight him if he is low in the Jungle. Zac will also gank alot so try to counter gank or steal the enemies camps on the other side of the map. Use your W on the enemies CC ability (his E).

How to Counter Jungle Back to Top

How to Counter Jungle

blue_line.png

Counter jungling is one of the fundamentals of learning to become a good jungler. Counter jungling can be hard to do but once you master the art you will know the signals of when you can counter jungle. It will become much easier and you can abuse your knowledge to win games by putting the enemy jungler behind and becoming strong yourself.

Yesterday we discussed to prevent counter jungling and today we will tell you how to do it. If you did not read yesterday’s guide I suggest reading that before this one however some of the information will be covered in both.

Vision

If you have vision of where the enemy jungler is and you can invade on the opposite side of his jungle. You can take away his camps knowing that he is on the opposite side of the map. They will not be able to get to you in time. Vision will help aid in this by knowing where he is and when. You can tell in the early stages of the game what camps he has done by looking at his CS amount . You should then estimate where he has been and where he is going next. After you have deciphered if it is worth going in to counter jungle him you should then act on it immediately. Hesitating will lessen your chances of a successful counter jungle attempt. Even if your counter jungle is unsuccessful leaving vision will help your lanes play around for the next few minutes.

Minimap awareness

Following on from vision knowing where the enemy jungler is by his ganking patterns will help you counter jungle him. If you see that the enemy jungler is topside ganking your top lane, you should play around it and either pressure bottom lane, midlane or counter jungle his bottom side camps. The way of doing this is very much the same as vision above.

Taking away buffs

In previous seasons, jungling was much harder and knowing jungle timers were way different to it is now. If you hold down the tab button you can see timers of Dragon, Baron or The Buffs. Knowing when the enemy jungle camps are up will allow you to contest them and being prepared is one way of doing that.

Knowing that the enemy jungle camp is coming up will allow you to take it away or at least fight over it, if you see that the enemy jungler is on the opposite side of the map and their buff is coming up in 10 seconds you could try to sneak it away from them. Taking away buffs from your enemies is one way of not only putting your enemy jungler behind but also putting the mid laner behind or even their ADC.

Once you have mastered the art of counter jungling and jungling in general. You will be able to find new ways to counter jungle and ways of abusing your strengths and putting the enemy jungle behind.

Please Note: This was taken from another guide written by myself on the 24th of September 2017. You can find it here: https://medium.com/@PicklePantsLoL/how-to-counter-jungle-successfully-day-24-30-fc7f67e221ec

How to Prevent Counter Jungling Back to Top

How to Prevent Counter Jungling

blue_line.png

If you are a jungle player you’ve probably had your fair share of counter jungling in the past. In some games it is almost impossible to farm because you have been so heavily out jungled. Games like this are rather frustrating to play and are almost always hard to come back from. There are some ways to prevent counter jungling in League of Legends and here are some ideas that you can take forward into your future games to help prevent counter jungling.

Ganking Lanes

Showing yourself on the map when ganking lanes is one way of being counter jungle. When ganking Lanes, you need to be quick and efficient with your pathing and performance. Time is a valuable resource in League of Legends, and wasting it is something you should not do. While you are on the map you will be spotted. The enemy jungler will have enough time to know where you are and you can take objectives away from you. For example, if you are helping your top planer out the enemy jungler can invade your bottom side to either provide vision or take jungle camps away from you.

You can improve on this by not showing yourself for too long while ganking, and making sure that you have taken all your jungle whenever possible.

Provide Vision

Providing vision as the jungler is a very important. Everybody must do it to successfully show and spot the enemy. Pink ward’s in river bushes are one way to show where the enemy jungle is. This will prevent counter jungling because you can see them entering your jungle which will allow your team to collapse on them. If you know that the jungle is entering an empty side of the map, you should invade the opposite side of their jungle to try and steal their camps.

Vision is incredibly important for all Lanes. Spotting the enemy jungler when he is invading or passing through the river is a one way preventing invades or ganks.

Taking Camps

The most obvious way of preventing counter jungling is taking your buffs and camps whenever they are up. This will mean that the enemy will be wasting their time trying to take or steal buffs if they are not there. This will also put them behind as they have taken the time to come into our jungle. This also means that you could collapse on them while they are looking for your camps.

Once you improve in ranking and learn more about the game you will notice small signs to prevent counter jungling. It takes a lot of practice to become good at jungling so do not be discouraged when learning.

Please Note: This was taken from another guide written by myself on the 23rd of September 2017. You can find it here: https://medium.com/@PicklePantsLoL/how-to-prevent-counter-jungling-day-23-30-c097d49be3e5

Tips and Tricks Back to Top

Tips and Tricks

blue_line.png
  1. To make the most out of The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32 The Ultimate Hat, whenever your nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate is about to come up, move into a position where you can gank. Once it's up, go in and nocturneparanoia.png Ult the enemy. It's important to use your nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate as often as possible.
  2. When doing Jungle camps which has multiple monsters. Target your nocturneduskbringer.png Q to hit as many of the monsters as possible.
  3. If you have vision of the Dragon or Baron. If the enemy is doing it, you can use your nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate to get closer to it in attempts to steal.
  4. If you're in a pickle, you can use your nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate to scare enemies off in attempts to escape. You can also use it to attach on to another champion in aid of escaping such as the 40.png Support.
  5. Your nocturneshroudofdarkness.png W can block one Auto attack from the Dragon and Baron.
  6. You can stillfear enemies via your teather from your nocturneunspeakablehorror.png E. It does not break if the enemy goes untargetable. For example 8.png Vladamir vladimirsanguinepool.png W, 498.png Xayah xayahr.png Ultimate and 3157.png Zhonyas
  7. If you nocturneduskbringer.png Q an enemy who goes invisible, such as 29.png Twitch twitchhideinshadows.png Q or 62.png Wukong monkeykingdecoy.png W- your nocturneduskbringer.png Q will show where they go!

Pros and Cons Back to Top

Pros and Cons

blue_line.png

Pros:

  • Incredibly useful nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate. It can be used to gank from far away.
  • Scary nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate. Your nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate is rather scary, it will make enemies jump!
  • Global nocturneparanoia.pngUltimate. While the range of your nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate isn't the best, it near-sights all the enemies- forcing them to play safe.
  • Rather good clear thanks to nocturnepassive.png Passive, nocturneduskbringer.png Q and nocturneshroudofdarkness.png W Passive Speed increase.
  • Fun to play.
  • Strong Ganker after level 6.
  • Has lots of pressure thanks to yournocturneparanoia.png Ultimate.

Cons:

  • Can be Kited. As 56.png Nocturne is melee, he can easily by kited by a Good ADC.
  • High Risk- High reward. He is very risky to pick and he Needs to Snowball.
  • Takes some time to learn and master. 56.png Nocturne is not the easiest champion to learn and do well with.
  • Squishy. He is quiet squishy in the early game.
  • He isn't very strong until 56.png Nocturne's level 6.

blue_line.png

Early Game Back to Top

Early Game

blue_line.png
The early game for 56.png Nocturne is pretty simple and mainly consists of farming, ganking and counter ganking. 56.png Nocturne has a fairly good clear in the early game and can quite easily get level 3 healthy with some sort of leash. Nocturne isn't very strong until he has his nocturneparanoia.png ultimate, so ganking will be difficult however not impossible. It's better if you try to counter gank instead. Nocturne doesn't have the greatest time ganking early and this lays down to his kit. I recommend not trying to actively gank unless you can clear up the enemies and get easily kills (or from counter ganking.) Because your nocturneparanoia.png ultimate applies so much pressure, you want to hit level 6 as quickly as possible, this means you need to power farm and actively take camps. This will not only allow you to get level 6 quickly, but it will give you more experience, more gold and it will deny the enemy Jungle any camps if they choose to invade you.

56.png Nocturne has a good clear and can clear fast. If the enemy is an early ganker, try to counter Jungle some of their camps. Counter Jungling works great against these champions: 64.png Lee Sin, 60.png Elise, 78.png Poppy, 79.png Gragas, 32.png Amumu, 24.png Jax, 68.png Rumble and 57.png Maokai.
blue_line.png

Mid Game Back to Top

Mid Game

blue_line.png
The mid-game is where 56.png Nocturne really shines- or gets dark, I don't know really. Anyway, Nocturne is really good in the mid-game because of his nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate. Thanks to your runes ( The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32The Ultimate Hat and Transcendence.png?width=32Transcendence) you should be gaining lots of cooldown reduction and should use your nocturneparanoia.png ultimate to gank a lane as frequently as possible. You want to maximize the cooldown on your nocturneparanoia.png ultimate and be proactive with it. Because of the range, you should be as close to the enemy as possible when using it.  56.png  Nocturne is a very strong champion, you want to snowball as hard as possible. Try your best to take as many kills as possible in the mid stages of the game if your allies wouldn't make use of them. However, if they are snowball champions too- then you may wish to give some of them over.

The mid game should be the best time of the game for you. Remember to abuse your nocturneparanoia.png ultimate cooldown and try to get as many kills as possible, gank when you can and be p-r-o-a-c-t-i-v-e!

Late Game/ Team Fighting Back to Top

Late Game

blue_line.png
The late game for 56.png Nocturne is not very strong and can be quiet hard to play if you didn't snowball. 56.png Nocturne has a few options in the later stages. The first is splitpushing. 56.png Nocturne has a good ranged nocturneparanoia.png ultimate at max rank. This can help you get to team fights quickly if need be. He also has rather good wave clear and 1v1 potential once he has items.

The second option is to team fight and this is the main thing that you will be doing. Once your team is in position, use your nocturneparanoia.png Ultimate and try to assassinate the enemy carry. You want to focus either the enemy ADC or enemy Mid. Once you go in, try to burst and kill the enemy, if you cannot assassinate the enemy, then back off once you've gone in. Try not to die!

If you didn't snowball, then you may have to change your focus from assassinator to a secondary support and peel for your carries.

Only go into team fight if your team is ready and able to follow up.
