This order is the one you wanna take if you plan to powerfarm because ennemies laners got some escape power such as Leblanc or anything with dash/heavy cc. This order means that you will be able to solo Drake once you got your level 5, by this time you should have been able to go to base once and to grab a pink ward, drop it into the Drake area and solo it, if you had to clear a ward just don't except if your laners are pushing ennemies into their own tower. Otherwise they will collapse onto you, and your team won't react fast enough. (be sure to drop a few wards into their jungle so that you will be able to see ennemies coming, you will be surprised if 5 people collapse on you because you didn't warded near areas.

But the way you're maxxing your spells is pretty much situational. If their ennemies got low escape/low cc (e.g. Rumble/Malphite) you should try to max E and to gank those lanes all the time, people get frustrated easily and Nunu is such a pain to escape when you got no dash. Since you're playing Nunu you will be able to get vision for your team and to clear vision from the ennemies. You want to avoid ennemies jungler to gank the lane you want to camp because you're not the greatest 2 versus 2 fighter. You might look for 2 versus 2 but then you should be the one counterganking and surprising the ennemies, if you want that to happen you gotta have a great timing, the easiest way to make it happen is to control vision. Don't forget to take 2 points into Q because it gives you a better jungle clear already, and you want to get camps between two ganks.

You can even max W second (after Q) if your ADC got pretty fed. I mean don't if you're doing well on your own, but if you're not having a great game max W and stick with your ADC the whole time. Nunu is a great peeler. Give your ADC attack speed and slow people that are trying to kill him with both E and R.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Pretty much always start with those items, you don't need more potions except if ennemy jungler is looking for inavdes (e.g. Nidalee or Shaco) then you might want to skip the ward and to get 3 cookies. Otherwise if you don't expect anyone to bother you just start with a ward and drop it somewhere it will help your team, probably somewhere in the river or deeper into ennemies jungler. (don't waste it near ennemies raptors they will just clear it right after, or eat raptors first)
If you expect ennemy midlaner to invade your jungle with ennemy jungler then take a pink ward and drop it as a defensive tool is one of the river's bushes. Don't keep it for Drake you will go to base at least one before you will be able to take it down, so get another pink for Drake when you reach this point.

Core Items

You want to get those items the first time you go to base, you might skip the ruby if you're too low on golds. You might take a different smite too depending on which spells you are planning to level first. If their team got low escape you might want to opt for Skirmisher's Sabre or Stalker's Blade, but it means that you will be a better ganker so if you're maxxing E than might be a better choice.
That's your core build. Once you got to this point you want to ward everything, your jungle, then river, then deeper into ennemies jungler. Never invade if you don't know where ennemies are, do it if you know that they won't collapse onto you, and don't expect your team to help, they won't.
Get this pretty much all the time. Don't get Locket if their team is full AD. If you get fed you should build Glory asap. It helps with engages. FH will pretty much always be useful since they will always have an ADC.

Situational Items

Get those items depending on ennemy team comp. Heavy AD ? Get omens or Thornmails, or both Heavy AP ? Get Banners it's so fucking annoying to deal with that big minion, if you're not tanky enough get SV/Banshees If their damage is split between AP and AD go for Warmogs.
If ennemy team got too much cc/magic damage.

You're Nunu, you wanna get aura items since you're not a huge factor, however since you are a great peeler and give such a great attack speed bonus to your ADC you want to keep him alive.

That's the easiest matchup for Nunu, really. If Lee Sin starts with his toplaner or even solo you want to look for a level 1 camp steal. You're Nunu, just walk in and Q + Smite the camp. There is no way he can get it. Be careful tho you gotta dodge Q and you might not want to invade if ennemies toplaner is helping and got cc such as Irelia's E or Gnar's Q. If he gets low HP and you got his level 1 camp, game is pretty much over, don't ever let him farm and ward his jungle asap. Just steals everything from him, and fight him if he's below 400 HP, otherwise just eat his minions and run.
Focus on countergank don't give him a way to comeback into the game, if your lanes are overextending walk there and avoid Lee Sin from taking kills.

How to play Nunu Back to Top

Nunu is an objectives focused champion which needs some time to scale up. He is a pretty poor ganker. There are multiple way to win the game but you might want to do solo drakes if your team is winning on its own. (e.g. if all your lanes are pushing into ennemies' towers just solo it after you dropped a few wards to make sure they won't collapse/tp and kill you, that would be terrible)

Early game :

As Nunu you can pretty much choose any jungle path and you can make it works. You want to identify where the strength of your team are.

Give camp to your botlane :
One of the best starter would be to smite camp (krugs or gromp) for your botlane, or even smite + Q if you feel like it, let ADC kill it and don't take experience, just solo your first buff instead (blue/red). But that means it will put you a little bit behind, you wanna do it if you feel like your bot might snowball ahead with an early level 2. (e.g. Kalista + Thresh w/ ignite, you definitely wanna give it to them, don't you ?)

Botlane leach :
You can still do the usual starter where your botlane will pull you but imho that's kinda a waste. I mean you should either let them take this camp or let them get more xp since you DON'T need help as Nunu.

Starting topside :
You can start there and get your camp solo, you don't want your top to help since he will probably want to take a camp too. And anyway it would give ennemies the information that you started top.  There's no need, it would just annoy you since they would know your jungle path.

Mid / Late Game :

Focus on vision control, that's the way to carry games as Nunu, you need to ward deep and to control ennemy jungler. You want to outfarm him, and you don't want to outplay him but to outsmart him. So ganking is a pretty poor option, you might just get surprised if it ends up being a 2 versus 2 or 3 versus 3, you are pretty weak in those spots (most of the time). So once you got some vision control just focus on counterganks, they don't expect you to gank that much your Nunu, and they don't expect you be a huge factor during small skirmishes, even if that's true the fact that you won't be there first but will show up later mean that they won't focus you, and you will just make it a pain for the ennemies to focus your friends. Just E the damage dealers, then R, they will be slowed forever and might end up dying.

You wanna get control around Nashor very early into the game, ennemies should respect the fact that you are Nunu and that you want to get it early on. However they don't expect you to do it before 25- with less than 5 people, try to get your toplaner and to duo it (you will like to duo it with (69_64.png 23_64.png 24_64.png 67_64.png 268_64.png 11_64.png etc), make sure you got some hp/armor before to try tho, you won't be able to do it with only 1 item. And take vision control, you need to do see ennemies, if you don't you wil most likely get collapsed onto and you might even give them a free baron.
