Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png Flash is a staple of nearly any League of Legends champion. 80_64.png is no exception - and Flash will save you and help you kill your enemies many, many times in a single game. Aside from common uses such as catching up and escaping, it can also be used with a buffered pantheon_throw.png or pantheon_leapbash.png, or to cancel pantheon_throw.png animation.
11.png Smite is for Jungle.
Your clears are very safe and rather quick, you're one of the best duelists in the game, and your ganks are deadly - even before level 6. It's pretty out of meta right now, though.
14.png Ignite is for Laning. You want to bully them out of the lane with constant pantheon_throw.png spam and/or kill them outright by a combination such as pantheon_leapbash.pngpantheon_throw.pngpantheon_heartseeker.png80.png is famous for poking and bursting down his lane opponents, and 14.pngcomplements that nicely.
3.png Exhaust is also for Laning. It is generally inferior to 14.png for 80.png all-ins - but it's better to have when you're laning against certain champions such as 114.png10.png. It has special synergy with pantheonpassive.png - while others might say it reduces attack speed by 30% and therefore they'll attack you 30% slower, for 80.png it will be as much as 100% because the only attacks they will be able to make will hit your passive shield.
12.png Teleport is generally a viable choice for Top. It has great synergy with 80.png - the main problem is that you'll have to give up 14.png or 3.png and therefore weaken your kill potential early on. It's especially worth it if you know you won't be capable to kill your lane opponent anyways(54.png is a good example of that; the higher elo it is, the harder it is to kill your lane opponent too.)

Masteries Back to Top

18/12/0 MASTERIES

These are what I'm using for Lane Pantheon.
They're pretty self explanatory, you really just want as much damage as you can get - and Resolve options don't really benefit 80.png in any way.

Note: Precision was nerfed and Deathfire Touch was buffed, so now it is perhaps even stronger than Thunderlord's. Lane Pantheon with Deathfire Touch is extremely strong and therefore it's my go-to preference.

Deathfire Touch is definitely stronger for sustained poke and laning, but Thunderlord's will be more useful later on. Of course, given the Pantheon early-game bullying, Deathfire Touch benefits him really nicely.

12/18/0 MASTERIES(Jungle)

Thunderlord's Decree works better than Deathfire Touch since you don't have anyone to poke in the jungle... ;-) and extra armor penetration also helps a little bit with clearing camps. Another option would be Strength of the Ages with 18 in Resolve, which is oh-so popular with the junglers right now.

Compared to laning - you're swapping out Wanderer for Savagery and Assassin for Runic Affinity.

Note that Pantheon jungle is on the weak side right now, I haven't seen it done with any kind of success lately so... It's better to stick to laning sadly :/

Skill order;

TL:DR

Max Q in lane and E second.(Start Q>W>E if you can kill with all-in lvl 3 or Q>W>Q>E if you need to poke more)

For jungling Max E first and Q second(Start E>Q>W)

Level 1 skill -
W-E-Q for invading the enemy jungle in the hopes of killing someone before the actual laning phase begins - it will make your jungle slow but if you indeed manage to, it's well worth it. Just make sure to not level W before you actually encounter enemies.
Q-E-W for laning otherwise.
E-Q-W for jungling otherwise, since you'll kill gromp faster with that if you have a decent pull.
W at level 2 in the jungle/lane if you plan to intercept enemy jungler or go all-in on enemy in lane.
At level 3 you should have all of your skills one way or another.
Generally stick to R>Q>E>W after that, and R>E>Q>W in the jungle.

But you might level your E at level 12 rather than R 11 - what's the point of leveling a skill with a 150 second cooldown, huh? You might just hit 12 faster before using your ult again, if it's on cooldown.

Now, let's talk about 80_64.png abilities and their effects.

Passive ability - Aegis Protection;

Blocks the next autoattack or spell with on-hit effects(e.g 41_64.png Q, 81_64.png Q)

  • Does not block small minion autoattacks and small monster attacks.
  • Will block most on-hit effects such as 4.png's Gold Card Stun.
  • If you cast your W, not only does it instantly refresh, all the stacks you had beforehand still remain(e.g you had 3 stacks of Aegis Protection and used Aegis of Zeonia; you will then block next incoming attack and still have 3 stacks after that. However, if you already had it ready, nothing will happen.)

Q - Spear Shot;

  • Single-targeted low-cooldown nuke spell.
  • Has low cooldown(4 seconds, 2.4 seconds when CDR is maxed)
  • Levelling it does not increase it's mana cost.
  • Great tool for lane harassment and bursting down enemies.
  • Damage improves strongly with levels.
  • Instantly executes a target below 15% if E is levelled at least once.
  • Actually just does double damage in that case but it's pretty much the same thing.

W - Aegis of Zeonia;

  • One-point wonder.
  • Refreshes your passive.
  • Stuns an enemy for 1 second; enough a timeframe to use an autoattack, Q, and E.
  • Leaps to an enemy.
  • Does a small amount of magic damage
  • Leveling it lowers CD by 1 second per level, and increases the magic damage a tiny bit.

E - Heartseeker Strike;

  • Both a Passive and an Active spell.
  • Passive makes your autoattacks and Spear Shots do critical damage when the target is low HP; does not upgrade with levels.
  • Active initiates a 0.75s channel, during which 80_64.png will strike the enemy thrice for moderate amounts of damage. Moving will interrupt the channel(The first tick will hit regardless)
  • Double damage to champions(half damage to minions and monsters? hmm?)
  • Leveling it strongly increases it's damage and lowers it's cooldown, but increases the mana cost.
  • Will get interrupted by enemy CC; you can interrupt it yourself by moving.

R - Grand Skyfall;

  • The coolest-looking spell in the entire game.
  • Using it initiates a 3.5 seconds channel, which is split in 2 parts.
  • 80_64.png warms his muscles for 2 seconds before leaping in the air. The channel will get interrupted if you get stunned, or you can interrupt it yourself. If interrupted, it refunds mana and goes on 10 second cooldown. Allies are warned of 80_64.png starting the channel by the massive ring at his destination and might suicide themselves despite you interrupting it.
  • Might go on a full cooldown rarely. I'm still not sure how it happens, but definitely is a small bug.
  • After warming his muscles, 80_64.png jumps to the targeted location, reaching his destination after 1.5 seconds. The enemies are alerted of 80_64.png by the massive ring at his destination; you can no longer stop the channel as 80_64.png is already in mid-air.
  • Shockwave slows(35%) for 1 second and deals high damage(down to 50% at the edge).
  • Leveling it lowers cooldown and greatly increases damage.
  • Use it way in front of enemies path so they will see it right on top of themselves.
  • Using W instantly after ultimate might not be the best idea, because of 1 second slow.
  • Can be used as an Escape tool(totally badass escapes)

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

That's the Corrupting Potion Start. It's amazing - a worthy replacement to Crystalline Flask.
    Machete 3 pots - Jungle.
Early Game Trinket. Better than Red for both laning and jungling.

Core Items

Moar longswords. Early B.F is also nice. Tiamat is pretty much R.I.P now as 10 AD loss really hurt and extra AOE just doesn't compensate for it.
Rush it! It's bonkers for Pantheon in Season 6. Get CDR parts second - you want pure damage first and foremost.
Another Bonkers Season 6 item. The concentration of offensive stats and effects is overwhelming, and is definitely a worthy pick-up right after Youmuu's.
Bonkers Elixir. Makes you a War God. I'd say it's obligatory to get a couple before you're full build.
Swiftness are really solid right now. Swiftness is my main choice, and then you can consider other boots if the enemy team comp calls for it.
Switch the trinket! Blue is standard and has a moderate degree of synergy with your ultimate. Lens is better against stealthy champions and traps.

Situational Items

If you feel the need for Armor.
    Great item against specific CC
You can't do damage if you're dead. Although Pantheon is well-endowed to deal with physical damage with his passive, he has nothing against magic damage. This item helps you fill that gap.
Amazing item to get, especially after your core items. It's especially good to delete tanky targets. This clashes directly with Black cleaver - you can't have both of them in the same build.
If for some reason they can't crowd control and burst you down, why not go for more damage?
This item is a smooth transition out of your core build to 40% CDR and relative tankiness. It's fairly good to build as a 3rd full item(after Youmuu's + Drakthar's). Don't get with Death's Dance or Dominik's.
A great lategame pick-up, where the 15% HP Steal really kicks in.
It's here to remind you not to get it no matter what. It's terrible on Pantheon, OK? Base AD is something which has nearly 0 benefit for you, and health/shield by themselves just don't do enough to warrant getting it.
A very solid example of a bursty Pantheon lategame build. Note the armor penetration items; there is great synergy in stacking armor penetration. Tiamat was sold for the last item, but you probably won't ever get to this point in your games.
Unlikely defensive items. Banshee is against full AP teams when Maw isn't enough. Locket is only if no one else builds it for some reason vs AP teams... And Guardian Angel might just be the thing you need when you're the one getting focused by the entirety of the enemy team.
    Sometimes, damage is the answer.
This is the most well-rounded build. It features great damage and great survivability against any type of damage, as well as decent mobility. Tiamat and boots were sold to accommodate for more pricey items later into the game.

Plan out your purchases before going to shop.

Nothing is more awkward than going back to base and not being able to buy anything meaningful.

1408.pngOR 2033.png-> 3077.png3134.png->3142.png->3147.png-> Situational

Every single game.

3009.png3158.png3111.png3047.png Pick one depending on the enemy team. Currently in preseason I'm doing heinous things and skipping boots altogether sometimes because the inventory gets very cramped already, but you should just manage somehow and keep your boots lategame if you're used to that movement speed.

2140.png Drink right before picking a fight. I'm literally buying this 2-4 times a game once I'm level 9 and being aggressive to the max.

3340.png -> 3363.png/3364.png Every Single game once you're level 9. Farsight - standard. Oracle - vs Stealth/Traps.

2043.png 2-3 of these per game is my average. If you ever do a Dragon, Baron or Herald, you want this thing to be in the pit. Also great for chokepoints.

3156.png3139.png3074.png3036.png3071.png3742.png3026.png3102.png3190.png

Mid-Late Situational items! Pretty much in the order of usability. 3742.png is particularly useful as a good reasoning behind skipping out on boots. . .

I've tried these items on 80.png and they felt pretty garbage for varied reasons(Oh, poor mobility boots. Completely outclassed by 3158.png now), but they could still appeal to you so I'd recommend against getting them!

3053.png3053.png3053.png3053.png3053.png3053.png3053.png3053.png3053.png3053.png3053.png3143.png3800.png3056.png3748.png3512.png3022.png3146.png3031.png1083.png3117.png3508.png3110.png3124.png2032.png3025.png3004.png3033.png3046.png2045.png3065.png3068.png3072.png3075.png3078.png3083.png3091.png

3053.png But I've checked on PROBUILDS.COM and pros get this item every once in a while on 80.png! Why do you say the item is bad?

That's because 25% or 50% Base AD essentially means +0 AD to 80.png. The keyword here is base; It won't improve the damage output of your Q, E, Keystone. And you'll only ever land one or at most two basic attacks on an enemy champion. the Passive will not be used to it's full efficiency either as you're building 3142.png3147.png early on - so you won't have a ton of health. What this means is essentially that buying 3053.png on 61.png is a much more sound choice than building it on 80.png; 61.png utilizes her autoattacks more often and also has bonus resistances from her orianaredactcommand.png, so the health and Base AD from 3053.png is utilized more effectively. Now, obviously, you don't build 3053.png on 61.png. So don't build it on 80.png either, please.

VS

Aatrox

Medium
266_64.png is not a hard champion to beat with 80_64.png.
It is all going to depend on players mechanical skill - if you can dodge his aatroxQ.png and aatroxE.pngwhenever he uses them, you are certain to win. If you are the aggressor(you should be), make a move when he just procced his aatroxW.png, so he won't be able to proc it on you.
Also, try to use pantheon_heartseeker.png after he does his aatroxQ.png, so he cannot interrupt it.

VS

Ahri

Medium

Same as with any other skillshot champion, 103_64.png VS 80_64.png can go either way - it all depends on whether you dodge her ahriorbofdeception.png and ahriseduce.png or not.

Try to jump on her when her ahriseduce.pngis on cooldown; don't use pantheon_heartseeker.png if you think she can ahriseduce.png you.
103_64.png is a skill match-up. If you can't dominate her in lane, dominate by ganking her allies. Her ganks are great, but by no means are a match for yours.

VS

Akali

Easy

She is much weaker than you are in a direct combat, and she has no CC either, which means you can be hyper-aggressive without being wary of their jungler(no CC from midlane = no good ganks). The only thing she has is her shroud, and you should counter that by buying a 2043_32.png(and using it in combat).
Be the bully, don't let her farm, gank a lot after level 6 - this lane couldn't be easier.

VS

Alistar

Hard

It's not that he's hard or anything, but a good 12_64.png will be an iron wall between you and his AD carry, who might potentially destroy your team because you couldn't destroy him.
And it's not like you can kill him easily either - ferocioushowl.png reduces 70% of damage taken, so he's really annoying to deal with.

VS

Amumu

Easy

This little guy can't land a scratch on you. The only thing you really have to wary of is his Q - if you dodge it, everything will be K.

His curseofthesadmummy.png cannot interrupt your pantheon_heartseeker.png, and he cannot really prevent you all that much from reaching important targets.
However be wary with using pantheon_grandskyfall_jump.png to escape even if he wasted his bandagetoss.png - it gets interrupted by his curseofthesadmummy.png because it is considered a mobility skill.

VS

Anivia

Medium

A champion with an important skillshot. Your should never get hit by her flashfrost.png, or you are going to lose a huge amount of your health with no chance to retaliate. A good 34_64.png will attempt to tilt you with her crystallize.png in order to get you hit by it.

Other than that, she has the slowest movement speed in the game, no escapes whatsoever, and can not help her team whenever you gank.
Her passive is something to remember, though you can bring it down alone in 6 seconds span if it's not under turret.

VS

Annie

Medium

A tied match-up.

Before level 6, both of you have equal harass(your Q's are pretty even) and awesome stuns.
After level 6, she will be stronger 1v1 if both are equal in gold and levels. But she сan't gank as good as 80_64.png, so that's what you should focus on if you couldn't bully her out 1v1.

VS

Ashe

Easy
22_64.png has no escapes, low movespeed, and only a pathetic 0.5s stun in melee range(it becomes 3.5 seconds at huge distances though, but when you're melee, it's another story). An AD carry who is easy to reach and kill - game couldn't be more easier for 80_64.png.

VS

Azir

Hard

This guy is a very large dick. He completely ignores your passive with his "basic attacks" from azirW.png. Not only that, his azirR.png also interrupts your pantheon_leapbash.png and pushes you out of range for Q, E, and basic attacks. Very annoying to deal with a good 268.png.

VS

Bard

Easy

He can counter-stun you when you jump on him, but other than that, there's not much to be wary of. I'd rather have him on an enemy team as a support than many others.

VS

Blitzcrank

Medium

Similar to 12_64.png, this guy is going to control you hard. He's not as good against 80_64.png because instead of throwing people outside, 53_64.png is only capable of pulling them in. And being closer to the enemy team is sometimes not that bad for 80_64.png. Although you have to be wary of his hooks most of the time so you don't get rocketgrab.png and be 1v5ed like a noob.
He's not that good for peeling you from his AD Carry and is also quite a lot squishier than 12.png, so he isn't a very large threat unless you totally suck at dodging rocketgrab.png

VS

Brand

Medium

You're going to win it if you properly dodge his brandblaze.png and brandfissure.png, and don't get hit by spread from brandconflagration.png

He cannot counter your ganks, and probably won't be able to 1-combo you if you build as much as a malmortius with mercury treads.
Basically, this is a skill match-up. Be wary of jumping on his face because he can counter it with an undodgeable brandblaze.png

VS

Braum

Hard

Much like 12.png, he's another tough guy that's hard to kill and whom still manages to keep his squishier teammates safe from you(while they dish out tons of damage). Pretty annoying to deal with.

VS

Caitlyn

Medium

A solid challenge to reach, she has slow, escape tool, a snare and is gifted with 650 range.

But her escape tool is just lame, slow is weak, short, and hard to hit, and her snare is a visible trap getting caught in which is a shame.
Play it smart and you should be able to kill her many times in a single game.

VS

Cassiopeia

Medium

Even more so than 63.png, in this lane you have to be constantly on the tip of your toes to dodge her poison.

Dodge her cassiopeianoxiousblast.png, dodge her cassiopeiamiasma.png, make her waste her cassiopeiatwinfang.png when you aren't poisoned, and turn around or dodge with 4.png to her side whenever she starts her ultimate.
Congratulations.
You won your team the game because their AP carry couldn't even touch you.
Actually, it can swing either way depending on how good you and 69.png player is. If it's dead even, try to get ahead by ganking other lanes with your pantheon_grandskyfall_jump.png.

VS

Cho'Gath

Hard

This guy knows how to stop 80_64.png. He can knock you up for a second whenever you use your W on somebody, and then slow/silence you for another 3. He'll also use his feast to eat you if his team won't be able to finish you.

He only has 1 spell that is hard to land, and that is his Q - but you should juke, bait, dodge and do whatever is in your powers - even using 4.png to escape the miserable fate of being rupture'd by 31_64.png.
If you can outplay 31_64.png, or he wastes his Q and W on somebody else, you can bypass him and try to kill his team. Even so, he remains a solid wall between you and his very fortunate teammates.
Also, he's very strong 1v1 early game vs 80.png, one of those rare champions that can sustain your rain of pantheon_throw.png. Very hard to play against a good one.

VS

Corki

Medium

An AD carry with a great escape, but he has nothing else to bring to the table when it comes to avoiding you. You should plan your best to be able to chase past his Valkyrie, because if you do, he's truly a free kill to take.

VS

Darius

Easy

You're going to dominate him 1-6 because of your superior harass and 1v1 capabilities. Might even be able to win him 1v1 after level 6 if you dodge his dariuscleave.png properly( using pantheon_leapbash.png to jump on top of him will prevent dariuscleave.png from dealing full damage and applying a Bleed Stack, and it won't heal him either)

If he also has a heavy AP team to back him up, buy a 3140_32.png and use it right before he does his guillotine to reduce it's damage by half.
Pretty easy to deal with if you respect his power.

VS

Diana

Hard

It's very hard to dodge dianaQ.png, and she's also capable of blocking your pantheon_throw.png with her dianaW.png. She'll also is able to interrupt your pantheon_heartseeker.pngwith her dianaE.png, and her 1v1 will be stronger if she plays it out correctly. She is also pretty mobile. Of course, your harass is still better if you dodge her Q's and she can't gank as well as you.
Basically, try to go even in lane and then snowball on ganks... You might kill her if she's playing bad, but generally you shouldn't be able to.

She sure sounds fun to play, and if you enjoy playing 80_64.png, you might enjoy playing 131_64.png as well. It's very interesting that 131_64.png80_64.png and 89_64.png are connected by the lore because their playstyle is similar to each other, being hyper aggression.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Medium

He can not stop you from destroying his team, in fact the only dangerous thing he has is his cleaver! But if you're good, you should be able to dodge most of them.
He's quite dangerous by himself though, if you aren't sufficiently fed you probably won't be able to 1v1 him.

VS

Draven

Medium
119_64.png is not that mobile, and a bad 119_64.png player won't be able to escape from 80_64.png at all.
But a great DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAVEN will make you suffer when he interrupts pantheon_leapbash.png with dravendoubleshot.png.
Don't let that happen and you're in chocolate.

VS

Ekko

Easy

Dodge his stuff and you'll be fine. 80.png generally should have the upper hand.

VS

Elise

Easy

She's worse 1v1(weaker poke), you destroy her spiders with your E and 3077_32.png, and she has completely no AOE potential.

She's weaker than 80_64.png the entire game, being worse in lane, while ganking, and in late game.
Of course, she's a FOTM jungler, jungling very fast and having a nice burst. Still, when it comes to fighting, you should be able to kill her with ease.

VS

Evelynn

Easy

She cannot do much to 80_64.png 1v1, and her ganks are generically countered by buying some 2043.png. She's not that strong on ganks, either, with her only CC being a slow - and that's on her Ultimate.

VS

Ezreal

Medium

Pretty much a mobile adc with a built-in blink. Not too crazy hard to chase and pin down, but not easy either.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Medium

His silence and fear can be very annoying, if you play against one, 3140.png is your best friend.

Try to interrupt his ultimate channel with 4.png + pantheon_leapbash.png whenever he tries to use it. It's incredibly devastating.
Other than that, 14.png or W destroys his Drain healing and he's incredibly squishy without it.

VS

Fiora

Easy
114_64.png is not that hard to lane against, with her 1v1 being much weaker than 80_64.png, and incapability to make ganks as awesome as 80_64.png can.
Make sure to pack 3.png whenever laning against her.
Also, beware of her fiorariposte.png and don't preemptively pantheon_leapbash.png her because next thing you know, you stunned yourself. Pretty embarrassing.
She can be a problem to deal with lategame, but she has much weaker early-mid game than 80_64.png and you should snowball off that.

VS

Fizz

Medium

A pretty close match up, 105_64.png is just too annoying to play against. Your harass early game is better, but a good 105_64.png might dodge your Q/E with a troll pole.

If you can avoid his ultimate with 4.png in 1v1, you are going to win.
Other than that, he packs a bit more impact in teamfights and can also make great ganks, but nobody comes on par with 80_64.png when it comes to ganking.

VS

Galio

Easy

Magic resistance dependant champion. He fell out of the meta precisely because pretty much everything now does physical damage, and obviously 80_64.png just destroys his hopes simply because he's not doing magic damage.

VS

Gangplank

Easy

Your passive blocks his Q and your 1v1 is stronger.
Just beware of the raisemorale.png and it will be k.

VS

Garen

Easy

You probably won't be able to do anything to him in laning phase if you ever find yourself in that match up, but neither he should be able to bully you out of lane. Just farm and gank!
Your benefit is that his garenslash3.png doesn't silence or deal damage to you through your passive.

VS

Gnar

Medium

I don't know, dodge his gnarQ.png and don't take too many basic attacks without your passive up. You should be able to get an upper hand early on and by ganking, but he eventually grows to be stronger than you in teamfights.

VS

Gragas

Hard

While a bad 79_64.png player might feed you over and over again, a good one will be a great challenge.

You cannot harass him out of lane; that's true at least if their 79_64.png has proper runes/masteries. His ultimate is incredibly annoying, and can set you up in unfavorable positions. If you can 4.png out of it just before it hits, you might win against him. But otherwise he will dominate you with Ult+E combos when his jungler is nearby. And he's also a pretty damn awesome ganker, he might cause problems when you gank as well.

VS

Graves

Medium

He's not that hard to catch, only having a small-range mobility tool, and a unique blinder/slow field that probably won't save him.

Just be sure to remember that he's tankier than most AD carries because of his passive, and packs awesome burst with Q+R when you are in melee.

VS

Hecarim

Medium
120_64.png can make solid ganks. If you can dodge/4.png his ultimate, he's definitely not too scary for you. Just be wary of him when you are ganking yourself, he can unexpectedly show up anywhere due to his insane mobility.

VS

Heimerdinger

Medium

Currently a troll pick, 74_64.png seems to be reworked in a monster that is insane against melee AD champions. You can nearly one-shot him from mid-game due to how squishy he is, but he's a nightmare to lane against because you can't take out his h28gevolutionturret.png safely.

VS

Irelia

Medium

Now, it's not that she's hard to beat in lane or anything, in fact - it's pretty easy to beat her. And she can not do anything but farm and push against you, and may not even be able to farm if you try to bully her. Pfft... The only reason why I rated her as medium is that she is her insanely annoying stun and that her lategame grows to be stronger than yours.

VS

Janna

Hard

40_64.png is capable of doing everything you would want from a support - a knock-up that's going to interrupt your leap, a slow(or a thing that gives her pretty much a permanent6.png  if she decides not to use it - so she can get out of ANY situations combined with the rest of her abilities, giving her the LOWEST average deaths per game), a shield that boosts AD carry damage as well, and a knockback with a heal if things go totally wrong. Oh, and passive movement speed boost for everyone.

It's so insanely hard to reach an AD carry supported by this Wind Woman. It's almost as hard as to kill her. No wonder she has insane win rate.
As with all CC skill shots, you can try and side step or 4.png right through her tornado.

VS

Jarvan IV

Hard

That's right. You don't really have a way to get out of his ultimate, now do you? Except using a 4.png, but hey that's just ridiculous. He also has a capability of interrupting your leap with his C-C-Combo move. If he builds AD, it might be possible to kill him, at least. If he doesn't? Then he's a tank who's gonna keep you locked in. Uh-oh.

VS

Jax

Easy

Uh-oh. And here you are sitting, with a big question sign inside your heads and a dumbfounded look on your face, just how exactly playing against 24_64.png, the monstrosity of 1v1's can be easy.

But it is! You just take 3.png if you see you're going to be laning against him. Poof, he's absolutely useless when he decides that it's time to have a 1v1 showdown.

VS

Jayce

Medium

This guy is pretty annoying to face in laning phase, but not like he's hard or something. You should be fine if you can dodge his Q, and if he doesn't hit you with it your harass is a lot stronger, and so are your ganks, all-in potential and overall lategame usefulness.

VS

Jinx

Easy

Seriously, by design this champion is easy for 80_64.png. She has no mobility whatsoever except when she kills someone. Just drop and kill her. Her only hope here is that she has someone like 12.png constantly by her side protecting her from you.

VS

Kalista

Medium

She's weak by herself and can't do much to you. it's only that you can't kill her support due to kalistaR.png and you'll have problems going for her with her support nearby - as kalistaR.png also pretty much functions as a stun.

VS

Karma

Medium

Actually fairly decent against 80.png. I don't have much experience against her, but her heavy hitting karmaheavenlywave.png and karmaspiritbond.png are pretty annoying, not to mention she can shield her teammates with karmasoulshield.png

VS

Karthus

Medium

While he's nothing special really, his lategame is just so good that you have to do something early and mid game to win the game. And you just CAN NOT jump on a good 30_64.png because he has insane range on his Q(many people presume it to be his autoattack) and slows really hard...

And he's also capable to alter your ganks somewhat, by pressing his ultimate.
A rookie 30_64.png, the one who can't hit Q's when you are slowed(LOOOOOOOOOOL), misses his walls and does bad ultimates - an insanely common thing in bronze-gold leagues, is an easy prey for 80_64.png.
Well, disregarding 30_64.png skill level, try to move eerily(clicking really fast with your mouse in different but meaningful directions), predicting where he is going to click his Q and W so he might miss 'em. If he does indeed miss his W, that just opens a time window to kill him.

VS

Kassadin

Easy

Ah, the 38_64.png. Thy mages bane and Thy insane ganker.

It's too bad his passive doesn't do a thing to physical damage and he can't land a finger on a 80_64.png 1v1 or even try to farm because... Spears.
Oh, an insane ganker? Oh, that's a 80_64.png Skydive coming right into their 38_64.png who just used his blink to gank somebody. Oh, that's one dead 38_64.png. Too bad, you've just met your ultimate predator.

VS

Katarina

Easy

Her harass is about 3 times as weak as yours. She doesn't have CC, her Ultimate is interrupted by her W, and she can not ganks as good as you can.

C'mon guys, she's easier to beat than a 38_64.png.

VS

Kayle

Medium

Well, if you run 14.png against 10_64.png, the life's going to be hard.

So pick 3.png instead and laugh as her Attack Speed matches your blocks.
She has heal, but it's so weak 14.png doesn't really justify it. Better get 3.png and make her lose tons of damage from repeated auto-attacking.

VS

Kennen

Easy

He can't touch you in 1v1, not at all.

His Q's are really easily avoidable in laning phase - and his autoattacks are getting blocked by you.
I recommend running 3.png against him, because if you all-in him he's just going to pop his E and run away - and he won't be able to add stun stacks with autoattacks and maybe E if you use Exhaust on him.

VS

Kha'Zix

Easy

An incredibly easy match up for 80_64.png. Just spam your Spears as much as you can - because he's melee, he's easy to punish for last-hitting. 1v1, you are also stronger early game and around even later on. Not to mention he has no CC, so you shouldn't be dying if his jungler camps you. And not to mention that he can't counter your ganks either.

VS

Kindred

Easy

She is a marksman without a real way to escape you. By all means - she's weak. Her kindredR.png also tends to benefit you more than her, because after it ends, you got pantheon_throw.png and pantheon_leapbash.png, while she herself doesn't do much.

VS

Kog'Maw

Easy
96_64.png with no escapes is just too easy to reach and kill, if he goes AD.
If he goes AP, he can be a problem with his burst, but is still generally quite easy if you get some extra MR.

VS

LeBlanc

Medium

It's quite a challenge to lane against 7_64.png, but 80_64.png has it easy compared to other mid laners.

Of course, 7_64.png kinda insanely fall offs and she is much weaker 1v1 if you CAN distinguish her clone instantly and get proper MR items(it's not uncommon for me to buy BOTH 3102_32.png and 3156_32.png if I play against a fed one).
For clone distinguishing, I usually look at the max HP value, clone has a lower one. After some time, it should be enough for you to look at just one 7_64.png to realize who is who.

VS

Lee Sin

Medium
64_64.png is pretty easy to lane against, with him being unable to poke you.
But if he's jungle, he can set up devious ganks on you that may end up with you getting killed.
Most often he's also the guy who kicks you out to save his team.
If you get into hand-to-hand combat with him, time your blocks and stun so you get the most out of them. And if he's flying right towards you,(using his Q or W, it does not matter) jump on him with your W - and if you do it fast, you are going to kind-of switch places. A wonderful thing for you, and a bad thing for 64_64.png.

VS

Leona

Medium

Not much to talk about, as a support 89_64.png has a lot of CC and will try to keep her AD carry safe.

But she does not have any disposition tools and especially knock-backs like 12_64.png's W, and her CC is affected by tenacity. That means that she may not be able to keep her AD carry safe after all, compared to the 40_64.png for example.
When you jump into teamfight and find enemy 89_64.png near you, you might want to take a step back before channeling your E. That will stop her from interrupting your channel with her shield stun.

VS

Lissandra

Medium

A pretty hard lane match up, it's all about the player's skill whenever you get matched against 127_64.png. She is probably better than you are in teamfights - but you kind of have a stronger early game and... you know, best ganks in the entire game.

As 80_64.png, whenever she tries to escape with her lissandraE.png, stun her around 0.5 seconds after she initiates it - it reaches it maximum distance after 1.5 seconds and therefore she won't be able to teleport if you time your stun just right.

VS

Lucian

Medium

pretty much a classic ADC. Quite annoying that your passive doesn't do much to his double-hit AA and he also packs an escape in form of his lucianE.png. Still not very hard to deal with.

VS

Lulu

Hard
luluw.pnglulur.png
Very annoying to deal with. You can't even dodge her luluq.png if she applies lulue.png on you beforehand!
Well, outgank and outplay.

VS

Malphite

Medium

He's fairly good against AD champions like 80.png by himself, but he is generally incapable of protecting his squishier teammates from you, so yeah.

VS

Malzahar

Medium

He's one of the few champions that you might have problems 1v1. However, as soon as you get 3140.png 1v1'ing him is no longer a problem. And you can just outgank him anyways ;-)

VS

Maokai

Medium

He can protect his teammates and is tanky himself. A fed one might also be able to 1v1 you. Not an easy matchup by any means, but not a hard one either.

VS

Master Yi

Easy

Too easy. Just make sure to hold your pantheon_leapbash.png for meditate.png or when you can kill him during the stun. Also be careful with his alphastrike.png dodging your pantheon_throw.png, but otherwise you should completely murder him 1v1.

VS

Miss Fortune

Easy

Tons of damage from afar, but completely helpless once you jump on top of her. Very easy.

VS

Mordekaiser

Medium

He's basically an ADC replacement and a tough one at that. He can literally 3-hit you with his Q, so you should respect his power and don't engage him alone unless you're much more fed than he is.

VS

Morgana

Medium

Very annoying, but comes down to dodging her darkbindingmissile.png which is pretty easy to dodge most of the time.

VS

Nami

Medium

She's similar to 40.png, only that she trades her disengage power for more damage. As such she's much easier to deal with.

VS

Nasus

Medium

He's a prey to you early on, but he quickly outscales you. It's best to snowball on him early on and try to snowball on his team later. Try to end the game quickly versus him.

VS

Nautilus

Hard

King of Crowd Control, can peel you off pretty much the same way 12.png does(no knockback, but more CC), so he's hard to deal with.

VS

Nidalee

Easy

Really easy, especially if you're careful and don't get hit by her javelintoss.png. She simply can't do anything to you in melee range but try to escape.

VS

Nocturne

Medium

His ganks with nocturneparanoia.png are comparable to yours and his nocturneshroudofdarkness.png nocturneunspeakablehorror.png are fairly annoying abilities to deal with. Keep in mind that his nocturneparanoia.png CD should be roughly the same as yours pantheon_grandskyfall_jump.png, it's pretty much a skill matchup anyways(though 1v1 you should be able to kill him).

VS

Nunu

Easy

He's very annoying if you're jungling against him, but not strong at all really.

VS

Olaf

Medium

A fed 2.png is dangerous! keep in mind that you can't stun him and that your passive doesn't help too much as he has a very high attack speed.

VS

Orianna

Medium

Skill match-up, depends whether you can dodge her harassment in lane and snowball on ganks. She has stronger lategame and her earlygame isn't that much worse than yours as she can shield your pantheon_throw.png with her orianaredactcommand.png

VS

Pantheon

Medium

Mirror matchup. May the best warrior win.

VS

Poppy

Easy

As long as you respect her passive making her tankier and her poppyheroiccharge.png ability to stun you against the wall as well as her poppydiplomaticimmunity.png giving her relative immunity... she's not much. She's very annoying but is also quite weak.

About Pantheon(Probably worth a read) Back to Top

My current lane preferences for 80.png are:

Mid = Jungle > Top > Bot ADC(aster) -> Support(Just don't)

There are 2 reasons I consider Mid and Jungle better than Top:

Ganking with Ultimate, which is very easy to do from Mid or Jungle, but requires being absent from lane longer and will cause you to lose a Tower(Even more so now, with Rift Herald and towers being squishier)

Getting Ganked. 80.png has an extremely strong laning phase; he's an aggressor. This means you often end up pushing the lane and dominating the opponent. This triggers Jungle ganks, especially since you have no built-in escapes. And it's much easier to escape a gank in Mid than in Top or Bot, since the lane is so much shorter.

(Obviously Jungle 80.png doesn't have that problem)

80.png is harder to play than you think.

I'm encouraging you to take a look at his win rates.

I'm sure you can notice that 80.png winrate in normal games and bronze games is 4-5% lower when compared to platinum and diamond+ games.
Admittedly, some part of it is that in Normal and Bronze people don't know how to close out games: they last longer than in higher elos. And with how 80.png falls off, that's surely a good reasoning, right? Well, actually, in Gold winrates aren't that much higher than in Bronze, and I'm pretty sure at that rating people are playing more or less seriously and are looking to finish out a game; So, in my opinion, there's more to it.

Well, by all means, 80.png isn't mechanically demanding from a player. His Q, W, E are all fairly straightforward, and I can only name two somewhat complex 80.png mechanics which you might not know/which can be difficult to manage:

- 7 Stack Passive, A.K.A Triple/Quadruple Block. Basically consists of getting 3 Stacks on your Block and then casting your W. Very useful in preparation for ganks/towerdives or if you or your enemy is planning to leave a lane. Absolutely underused by everyone(even me at times) from my observations.

- W(Or Sometimes Q/Ignite/Smite) Flash Buffering, which consists of basically tapping the spell out of range and then flashing in range. Covered really well in Bodytags youtube video.

And here's the main reason for Pantheon having a high skill-cap:

 Decision Making.

Seriously. It's all about knowing when to take a risk and when to pull out. But your possibilities are completely expanded on 80.png; you're free to decide for yourself whom to gank. You can drop right on your lane opponent after going in the Fog of War. Or gank Mid. Or gank Top. Or... Drop right into their Blue Buff/Red Buff at 8 minutes or so(PLACE WARDS IN THEIR JUNGLE FOR DROPS!)

It's not hard to press R - when & how is what matters.

Pantheon Videos Back to Top

I've been trying to make some videos of Pantheon Gameplay look interesting!

I'm not sure how much of a success that is but I'd be glad if you checked it out:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oayqgqreoA

I've started with this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghBmfAPPFoM

And hopefully I'll get "better" at this stuff :D

Pantheon Gameplay(1~9)*(I advise only TL:DR) Back to Top

The early game.

TL:DR Spam Q, play aggressive, deny farm, make their lane a living nightmare, don't overpush, lasthit..

On level 1, do not level a skill - in fact, nobody should level a skill on level 1, because god knows what will you need in a lvl 1 fight. I recommend gathering your team and invading their jungle, for doing that you will want to put a point in W, to stun and leap on whatever unlucky soul that got itself in 1v5. However, if you do not perform an invade for whatever reason(more than 1 person AFK-s on fountain)(teammates are afraid of invading for unknown reason)(they do not have a jungler 0_0), you should put a point in Q instead.
When you finally get to your lane, start poking enemies with your Q and try to deny them creeps. Of course, your main goal is to lasthit every single minion that comes to lane - do not hesitate to use your Q or even E to lasthit if required. It's something you should be doing on every champion except for supports and junglers; bring it to automatism. And as you lasthit, find opportunities to punish your enemy for lasthitting; throw a spear, land an autoattack just as they attack a creep, and if they get low on HP, use W and destroy them.
It does not matter if you managed to score a kill or not; if nothing works on them, just focus on farming every creep possible before hitting level 6. That's when real fun begins.

Pantheon Gameplay(6~15)*(I advise only TL:DR) Back to Top

It's all about being creative at this stage of a game.

TL:DR Back to base? Shop, Drop, Kill! Cd on Ult? Spam Q, all-in once you can murder them with a W>Q>E(hint: if fed enough, your WQE is roughly 150% of their max HP)

That's when 80_64.png shines. Everybody still keeps to their lanes... Good for us. Because it's time to hunt them down. Shove your lane(Shoving means pushing to their turret), get a blue buff, and start Grand Skyfalling everywhere.
Literally. Still, don't forget to keep track of enemy mid laner and jungler - they can ruin your ganks(or push really hard - have your jungler shove mid and shove it yourself before ganking), but so can you ruin theirs. Or you can just Grand Skyfall on your enemy mid laner - if he has no escapes or you think he can't escape from you with them. Or a top laner. Or predict when their jungler is taking a buff and Skydive him instead. Or an one more dive on bot lane - it certainly won't hurt to give them extra treatment, after all it's 2 people in the same lane.

Pantheon Gameplay(13~18)*(I advise only TL:DR) Back to Top

The time for Late Game.

TL:DR Try to end the game via Baron/Extreme Pushing/Pick-offs. You fall off the longer the game goes on. Snowball your advantage if you have one.
Otherwise stick with your team and try not to get too much enemy focus. If you have built 3026.png and your team can follow up, just pantheon_grandskyfall_jump.png right on top of their team when your is nearby to massacre people.

80_64.png has calmed down by this point. If you've been living peacefully, unable to score a dozen of kills all around the map, stick to your team and sit in the back. Once teamfight begins, think of where you should stand to avoid damage and start cleaving your way through with Q's and E's. If somebody dives for your AD carry, don't hesitate to destroy him with all you've got. On the contrary, if their has horrible positioning, show him hell. That's what is going to usually happen... When you reach your true rating. If you've just read this guide thoroughly, then the alternate ending is more likely. Oh, and if somebody splits to farm/splitpush... 4v5 his team, or, if you can't, skydive him and send him to heaven.
But if you have been not living peacefully, you are probably running around now oneshotting everything in your sight like a madman. And you should have around enough gold now to finish your 3026_32.png. When you finish it, you can start skydiving 1v5 and let your team follow up. Because of it's amazing passive, you will be able to survive and deal 3078_32.png to their entire team.

Pantheon Gameplay(Jungle)*(I only recommend TL:DR) Back to Top

I do not recommend Jungling if you are NOT level 30.

TL:DR G A N K * level 3 2-3 times, FARM to level 6, DROP&KILL&PUSH/DRAGON, FARM, DROP&..., FARM, ...

*It's usually better to take Second Blue buff for yourself unless your midlaner is someone like 268.png who is completely worthless without it.

As for the standard jungle order:
Gromp(Smite, top help) -> Blue -> Red(Smite) ->-> Gank is for blue side
Gromp(Smite, bot help) -> Blue(Support help) -> Enemy Raptors(Smite) -> -> Gank is for purple side
The most Important camps to Smite is raptors then wolves. Gromp buff is very weak on Pantheon since it scales with HP now(still great early game obviously).
Gank Top lane and Mid lane whenever you see an opportunity. Shoving lane and turretdiving is also just fine.
Approach Bot lane mostly with your Ultimate.
Or when you support clears their 2049_32.png2045_32.png2044_32.png2043_32.png2050_32.png with his/her 3341_32.png2043_32.png
Most certainly get 1st-2nd blue and 1st red, consider giving buffs out after that.
Give blue buff to whoever needs it the most - usually that's YOU, but if you have some crazy mana hungry guys in your team, give it to them.
Give red buff to your AD carry once it's midgame. 80_64.png doesn't get a whole lot out of it, to be honest.
Be creative. Gank in the most crazy ways to surprise and kill your enemies.
