Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png 14.png--> Most Common summoner spells for Pantheon Top.

4.png 12.png--> Flash and Teleport are standard Top-Lane summoners.

New Runes Back to Top

231.png
For our Primary on Pantheon, we take Sorcery, and we go into: Summon%20Aerie.png?width=32 (Summon Aery), Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32 (Manaflow Band), Celerity.png?width=32 (Celerity), and Scorch.png?width=32 (Scorch). For our Secondary tree, we go into the Precision tree, and we take: Triumph.png?width=32 (Triumph), and Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32 (Coup De Grace). Our choice in Sorcery primary gives us a lot of poke opportunity. Summon%20Aerie.png?width=32 Aery and Scorch.png?width=32 Scorch help us do good poke damage, where Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32 Manaflow band gives us the ability to sustain our mana to continue poking, and Celerity.png?width=32 celerity gives us move-speed and bonus AD from buying movement speed items. Our secondary tree is focused on surviving and killing enemy squishes, and Triumph.png?width=32 Triumph helps us stay alive in a fight, and Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32 Coup De Grace helps us kill their squishy carries.

179.png
PRIMARY: Sorcery

Summon%20Aerie.png?width=32--> Summon Aery gives us a lot of poke damage. Since we constantly Q-poke in lane, the extra damage from Aery adds up, and since it doesn't have a long cool-down (Can only be reactivated once it returns to you) like Electrocute, we can constantly proc it.

Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32--> Manaflow band refunds some of our mana costs and restores a percentage of our mana. This is great for Pantheon since we are constantly using our abilities to poke, and being able to rely on the free ability cost and the mana regeneration is huge.

Celerity.png?width=32--> Celerity is a perfect fit for Pantheon. Part of our build gives us Bonus Movement speed, which is transformed into adapative AD or AP (AD in this case) and its super good for roaming, since it also gives us a little bit of increased movement speed.

Scorch.png?width=32--> Scorch helps us poke every 20 seconds, and given it does magic damage, it helps mix our output DPS in lane.

179.png
SECONDARY: Precision

Triumph.png?width=32--> Triumph is far and away the best out of the 3 options on the first row. Works great for tower dives and high-risk plays.

Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32--> Coup De Grace is great for what Pantheon wants to do; threaten the back-line. Dealing more damage to low health targets is great if you can get onto their carries (either via a flank or through your pantheonrjump.png (R) and take them out of the fight.

Maxing pantheonq.png (Q) on Pantheon is the best route, followed by pantheone.png (E), and pantheonw.png (W). Level up pantheonrjump.png (R) at levels 6,11, and 16. Our pantheonq.png Q helps us poke in lane and harass, our pantheone.png helps us also poke and harass (typically we use this ability after we stun them with our W), our pantheonw.png W is our CC, and helps us setup all-in combo's early in lane. Pantheon is an early-game focused champion. Our goal is to get ahead in lane, then roam around the map with our ultimate and make high impact plays in other lanes, and then take major objectives and towers.

179.png
Panth.png

179.png
pantheonpassive.png

PASSIVE: Aegis Protection

INNATE: Pantheon gains a stack of Aegis Protection after landing an ability, or a basic attack on a target. Pantheon cannot get 2 Aegis Protection stacks at one time.

AEGIS PROTECTION: Pantheon consumes the 4 charges of INNATE blocking the next incoming basic attack from an enemy champion, large monster, or the next incoming turret shot.

Panth2.png

Pantheon's pantheonpassive.png passive is our basis for trading. Stacking it up for times, using it, then using our pantheonw.png W to instantly restack it is the best way to win trades in lane. Pantheon excels at early 1v1's, and his passive is a huge reason why he can win so many trades early in the game, and become a dominant laner who can amass a large CS and lane pressure lead.

179.png
pantheonq.png

Q-Ability: Spear Shot

ACTIVE: Pantheon throws a spear at a target location, dealing Physical Damage.

Certain Death causes pantheonq.png Spear Shot to critically strike.

Panth3.png

Pantheon's pantheonq.png Q is a huge factor in why he is so lane dominant (alongside his passive). We can constantly proc Summon%20Aerie.png?width=32 Summon Aery, and if we get them below 15% HP, our pantheonq.png will critically strike doing a lot of damage. Proper usage of his Q is essential following the minion aggro change from a few patches ago, so keep in mind spamming Q near an enemy minion wave will put minion aggro on you. Utilize the top-lane brush to poke and then drop minion aggro.

179.png
pantheonw.png

W-Ability: Aegis of Zeonia

ACTIVE: Pantheon dashes to a target location, dealing magic damage and stunning them for 1 second. Usage of his pantheonw.png W also instantly recharges his pantheonpassive.png passive.

Panth4.png

Pantheon's pantheonw.png W is our CC for lane and for setting up ganks. Preparing our pantheonpassive.png passive, going for a trade, then instantly using our pantheonw.png W to reactive our pantheonpassive.png passive is the key to winning trades in lane. This combo is extremely hard to out-trade early given your already super good poke damage. Also, when roaming, using your pantheonrjump.png ultimate on their back-line into a pantheonw.png W can be an instant kill on one of their carries if the follow up is there, or your majorly ahead and can kill them yourself.

179.png
pantheone.png

E-Ability: Heartseeker Strike

PASSIVE: Pantheon's basic attacks and pantheonq.png Spear Shot will critically strike all targets when they are below 15% Health.

ACTIVE: Pantheon channels for 0.75 seconds dealing Physical Damage in a cone to all enemies in its radius. The total damage is reduced to 60% against non-champions.

Panth5.png

Pantheon's pantheone.png E passive is why we can crush lane so hard. The ability to critically strike a target we've already poked down is huge. Getting them below 15% HP and then going for an all-in is the ideal way to play Pantheon top early on. Our pantheone.png E active also does good poke damage if we use it after we pantheonw.png W in on them.

179.png
pantheonrjump.png

R-Ability: Grand Skyfall

ACTIVE: Pantheon begins to channel, then after 2 seconds he leaps into the air becoming untargetable. He then blinks to a target location and comes down after 1.5 seconds, and becomes targetable after landing. Enemies within its radius take magic damage depending on how close they are to the center, and become slowed. The cool-down of this ability is reduced to 30 seconds if the channel is interrupted or canceled.

Panth6.png

Pantheon's pantheonrjump.png R is our roaming and engage tool. We can use it to roam bot and pick up either summoner spells or perhaps kills on their bot-lane or mid lane. Our goal is to get ahead in lane and roam around with ultimate helping our team out as much as we can. Pantheon has a weaker late-game so we need to snowball and close out the game early, when Pantheon is at his strongest.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Typical Start for Top-Lane Pantheon.
Tad more offensive start. Helps us build into our first major item quicker.
Very aggressive start; looking to all in around levels 2-3.

Core Items

    Standard type build.
    Another Standard Build.
Roaming and High Damage output build.
    Lethality build with GA.

Situational Items

Movement speed and added tankiness is good sometimes.
Good against comps who stack a lot of health.
    Good against AP threats.
alright sometimes, but swiftness boots are generally better in my opinion.
Not bad against heavy burst, but still a niche buy.
Niche, but not bad against heavy crowd control.
231.png
2033.png--> Corrupting potion is a good first buy. Sustain in the lane, plus the little bit of extra damage it gives is nice when trading while its in use.

1036.png--> Good starting item. Offers us 10 AD, and the ability to take 3 health potions into lane. Normally we build this to start the game.

3155.png--> Sometimes a good buy against AP damage threats early on.

3142.png--> Ghostblade is a good first item for Pantheon. Lethality, damage, and CDR are good stats early on. It also offers out of combat move-speed which is good for roaming, and its active is good for chasing targets down or rotating around the map quicker.

3111.png--> Merc treads are great against CC and magic damage. The tenacity helps prevent you from getting locked down, and the magic resist is good against AP threats.

3047.png--> Ninja tabi is good against AD comps and AD threats. Reducing basic attack damage by 10% and giving us 30 armor is really good at handling and dueling AD champions.

3009.png--> Swiftness boots are super good for roaming on Pantheon. Offers you the ability to impact the map in a positive way for your team.

3147.png--> Duskblade is a perfect fit for Pantheon. Lethality, Damage, and CDR (similiar to Ghostblade). However, its not usually best to rush first because it doesn't give out-of-combat move-speed like Ghostblade does. The passive's work well with Pantheon's play-style as well.

3071.png--> Good damage, tankiness, and cool-down reduction. The stats this item gives fit Pantheon perfectly, along with the passive which stacks armor shred, its good at helping you and your team do more damage to a target. Plus, the Phage passive is really nice on Pantheon to help you chase targets and secure kills.

3156.png--> MR, damage, and CDR. Along with these nice item stats, the passive MR shield is great against burst. Plus, the second passive (Lifegrip) is also nice, granting us 20 AD, and 10% life steal and spell-vamp upon the Lifeline passive activating (the MR shield).

3814.png--> More lethality, HP, and an active that helps us go all-in is great on Pantheon. The spell-shield is great for being able to quickly get in without being punished for it by crowd control instantly. Channeling and timing the spell-shield correctly is the tricky part.

3026.png--> Guardian Angel usually rounds out our build. It allows us to go deep into the enemy team and cause mayhem while being able to rely on the revive.

3139.png--> Merc Scim is good against heavy crowd control comps. The active helps you get out of a sticky situation; and can offer out-play potential against certain champions.

3036.png--> Better against comps who stack health and do not have a ton of sustain in their kit. Good against tanks like Malphite and Sion.

3033.png--> Better aginst comps who are tanky and have a lot of built-in sustain. Good against champions like Warwick and Mao'kai.

Akali

Medium

Akali's shroud makes it hard to all-in. She is dangerous post level 6, so try to get ahead early if possible.

Ornn

Medium

Ornn gets very tanky, and can stay in lane for long periods of time. Do your best to out-roam him.

VS

Sion

Hard

Very tanky, and does a decent amount of damage. Very hard match-up to win if he survives your early game prowess.

Tips and Tricks Back to Top

231.png
1. pantheonpassive.png Aegis Protection consistently blocks most on-hit effects from basic attacks. However, there is some exceptions; such as Hecarim's E.

2. pantheonq.png Spear Shot applies spell effects as a single target ability. It is also considered to be a projectile, and can be blocked by things like Yasuo's Windwall, and Braum's Unbreakable.

3. pantheonw.png is a targeted ability, and any target who moves out of its range after its already moving towards them will still be stunned.

4. pantheone.png Pantheon's E will only have its passive effect activated once the ability is leveled up for the first time. It will NOT guarantee the critical strike until there is a point in it.

5. Using your pantheonpassive.png to start off a fight after you've stacked it is ideal, and then quickly use your pantheonw.png to instantly reactive your passive block. This combo is very hard to out-trade.

6. When you pantheonw.png stun as Pantheon, lace in an Auto-Attack before you pantheonq.png or pantheone.png. It helps get out a little extra DPS.

7. Proper usage of his pantheonrjump.png ultimate is critical to snowballing the game. Going bot around level 6-7 is ideal if you're ahead. Use your lead to help your team get ahead.

8. Pantheon's pantheonrjump.png applies spell effects as an Area of Effect.

9. Pantheon is a lane bully; but falls off later into the game. Snowball your lane early, and roam. Your goal is to now get your team in a position to carry.

10. Pantheon's pantheone.png E passive "Certain Death" does not use Pantheon's normal critical animation.

231.png

Playing as Pantheon Back to Top

231.png
Playing as Pantheon has 3 different parts to master; playing the Early Game, playing the Mid Game, and playing the Late Game.

179.png

EARLY GAME: Pantheon has a dominate early game with a lot of snowball potential. Understanding your basic combo's and what your all-in situations can look like it key to having a good early game. Pantheon can also roam really well post-6. Normally, once you have won and or have control of your lane, you should look to ult bot and then take dragon afterwards if the gank is successful. Repeat gank a short-while later and it's almost a guaranteed tilter for the opposing bot laners. However, don't concede a ton of pressure top-lane, that could allow their top-laner to recover and get back into the game if they were behind.

Here are a few questions you should try to answer when playing Pantheon in the early game:
  1. How much kill threat do I have against my laner?
  2. Have they built stop-watch, or do they already have a stop-watch from their runes?
  3. Where is their jungler? where did he start? what time do I expect him to show mid?
  4. Who is better at level 6, me or them?
  5. What lane is the easiest to roam to? who has the best gank setup?
  6. How should I start to itemize for the mid-game?
  7. How is my CS in comparison to my laners?
  8. Where is my jungler at? is he invading? should I follow and help him out if so?
Answering these questions can help you be more proactive in the early game, and help you secure a lead. Be thinking about what ways I can best setup myself and my team for success when mid-game rolls around.

179.png

MID GAME: Pantheon's mid-game is pretty good. Get vision into their jungle, roam around the map, contest major objectives, and go for picks when they present themselves. Pantheon's early/mid game are his strongest points, whereas late game he gets significantly weaker. We need to get picks into objectives at this point in the game. Use your ultimate to go pick off their split-pushers, and don't be afraid to force an engage if the conditions are right for a team-fight. Play around your teams vision control, and utilize your lead to setup your team for a good late-game.
  1. Who can I 1v1? who can't I 1v1?
  2. Where should I place my wards at? where is our current vision line?
  3. Do I have oracles lens to help myself get picks in side-lanes?
  4. Have I bought control wards constantly?
  5. If the enemy team is MIA on the map, are they coming doing an objective? are they chasing one of my laners?
  6. What is our side-lane control like? do we have waves in ideal spots, or should we go push them out?
  7. What outer towers need to be taken down still? should I go push that lane and try to get the tower?
  8. What objectives are spawning? do we have vision around it? have we cleared out their vision?
  9. Who has summoner spells up?
  10. Who is fed? who isn't?
  11. How should I start to itemize for late game?
Answering these questions can help you have a more successful mid-game, and set you up for success once late-game rolls around.

179.png

LATE GAME: Pantheon's late game is mediocre at best. Most other champions that scale have out-scaled you at this point and will be more useful generally. Use your Ultimate to get picks, ward around major objectives, and go for 5v5 fights where you engage with your ultimate if the opportunity presents itself. Our goal at this point in the game is to get a pick and or a good team-fight and turn that into an objective like baron or elder dragon. At the late-late game stage, you should have GA, which means you can go for high risk plays so long as your team is on-board with it. Continue to play around your teams vision, and get picks when they present themselves.
  1. What major objectives are spawning soon? do we have vision on them? have we swept out enemy vision?
  2. Who can I 1v1? who can't I 1v1?
  3. What summoner spells are up for the enemy team?
  4. How fed are their carries? which one of them can I take out quickly?
  5. Who has items that counter my ult?
  6. Have I itemized correctly? what items should I buy instead if not?
  7. What enemy outer towers are still standing?
  8. What is our side-lane control like? are waves pushing for us? or against us?
  9. How should we play the next team-fight?
  10. What items do they have to prevent me from killing one of their carries?
Answering these questions can help you have a better late game on Pantheon. Of course, many other factors go into it, but these are just a few questions to consider.

About Me Back to Top

179.png
I began playing league around the start of season 4 and picked up Yasuo around March of that year, and have remained a dedicated main since then (My favorite skin is High-noon, and I like all of the chroma's). After a few months of dedicated playing, my main account hit platinum 2 in season 5 and my smurf had reached diamond. Following that, in season 6 I was able to cruise into Diamond smoothly on my main account and currently in season 7 (as you probably saw by my lolking link). I ended season 7 in Diamond 5 sadly because I didn't have a lot of time to grind out games, and because I was simply not good enough to climb to where I wanted to be. I did however peak Diamond 3, 100 LP (D2 promos), so while I'm not yet where I want to be, I know I can do it in the future.
