                               COLOSSUS OP

So there used to be a mini dispute over whether to take thunder lords or grasp but Riot put that to rest with colossus. Atm... this mastery is completely broken in every way.  It grants you a huge shield when you hard cc an enemy that gets even bigger when enemy champs are around scaling up to a 35% shield + (10 + 10 per level for kicks and giggles). 


Keep in mind using your poppyheroiccharge.png even if you miss a wall, will still grant you the colossus. So, randomly using poppyheroiccharge.png and attacking the enemy laner works better than ever.


                         Grasp and Thunder RIP?

Atm, yeah i think grasp and thunder lords are far weaker than colossus but this is preseason and colossus will almost defiantly get nerfed soon meaning this may not be the end for the good old key stone masterys :)

I honestly believe this is only and best skill order for 78.png. I would not even take w level 2 even if your vs a champ with loads of dashes like Yasuo or riven. Not taking w level 3 and putting another point in q is the only reasonable point and even doing this i feel like is not a good idea because the defense and speed w gives is just better than the slight damage buff from level 2 q. However i have done little experimenting with different skill orders so if you can prove otherwise i would be happy to know:)

    I never take these items first but it helps if your vs a ranged champ like Teemo or Gnar

    Standard build if your opponents are normally mixed between magic and physical

Situational Items

    Along with the other changed items, I dont think any of them seem all that great with poppy but ill give them a try. Edit: I have done a fair bit of testing and i found that Knights vow might be good in certain situations. (explained in the "why this item?" tab.

Passive:

Iron Ambassador
RANGE: 「 425 」

Iron Ambassador

INNATE: Poppy periodically throws her buckler on her next basic attack, which then fall near her target, where it remains for up to 4 seconds. If the buckler kills its target, it bounces back to Poppy automatically. Enemies can step on the buckler to destroy it.

Iron Ambassador Shielded

The buckler grants bonus range and 10 - 180 (based on level) bonus magic damage. When Poppy picks up the buckler, she Iron Ambassador Shieldedshields herself for 15 / 17.5 / 20% maximum health for 5 seconds.


Your passive has endless amounts great places to abuse it. During laning phase, you are able to poke your opponent, you can cs from far away, or you can pick up the buckler and get a shield that will soak up a lot of damage thus making trades very profitable. Keep in mind, if you last a minion or champion the buckler goes straight to you. Also, it counts as a melee auto attack even if your far away so grasp will deal the full damage:)

Hammer Shock

ACTIVE: Poppy smashes the ground in front of her, dealing physical damage to all enemies hit.

「 INITIAL PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 (+ 80% bonus AD) (+ 7% of target's maximum health) 」

The impacted ground becomes unstable, Slow icon slowing enemies standing on it before erupting after 1 second, dealing the same physical damage to all enemies hit.

  • SLOW: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40%

This ability is the main damage in your kit. In lane, try and q the opponent when they go for cs and you can get the double hit easily. If you are taking thunder lords make sure you auto attack them to activate it. This ability is also all of your wave clear and because of these 2 factors you 100% want to max this first on poppy top.


W:

Steadfast Presence
RANGE: 400
 
COST: 50 MANA
 
COOLDOWN: 24 / 22 / 20 / 18 / 16
Stubborn to a Fault

PASSIVE: Poppy's total armor and magic resistance are increased by 15%. If she falls below 40% maximum health, she gains Stubborn to a Fault Stubborn to a Fault, doubling the bonus to 30%.

Steadfast Presence

ACTIVE: Poppy gains bonus movement speed for 2.5 seconds and generates a barrier around her for the duration, causing all enemies who dash within to be Grounded icon knocked down and dealt magic damage.

  • BONUS MOVEMENT SPEED: 32 / 34 / 36 / 38 / 40%
  • MAGIC DAMAGE: 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+ 70% AP)

Steadfast Presence can only block one dash per enemy.

Steadfast presence is your main outplaying and peeling tool. The ability to stop a champion from dashing is such a big deal for so many champion's kit. Some unknown facts about her w is you can only block 1 dash per champ(so like ahri's ult you can only block one of them), The resisances are DOUBLED while below 40% health, and it does a fair amount of damage when blocking a dash. E:

Heroic Charge
RANGE: 425 / 300

Heroic Charge

ACTIVE: Poppy dashes to the target enemy, dealing them physical damage and Airborne icon carrying them along with her.

「 INITIAL PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 (+ 50% bonus AD) 」

If they collide with terrain, she deals the same physical damage to them again and Stun icon stuns them.

  • STUN DURATION: 1.6 / 1.7 / 1.8 / 1.9 / 2
Your main cc, peel, and wombo starter.  A stun maxing at 2 seconds leaves opponents very damaged or kill just about every time. With just the basic EaaQ wombo you can kill squishys with ease while building full tank. You can also just straight up dash to an opponent as a gap closer or shove them away from you carries. 

R:

Keeper's Verdict

FIRST CAST: Poppy channels for up to 4 seconds, retaining the ability to move but Slow icon slowing herself by 15% for the duration.Keeper's Verdict's cooldown is set to 30 seconds if its channel is canceled.

SECOND CAST: Poppy smashes the ground, sending out a shockwave that travels in the target direction. When it hits an enemy champion, a massive hammer erupts, dealing physical damage to all enemies around it.

  • PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 200 / 300 / 400(+ 90% bonus AD)

Impacted enemies are Airborne icon knocked back towards their fountain. Releasing the ability instantly cancels the channel, damaging and Airborne icon knocking up all enemies around Poppy instead for 1 second.

Poppy has Sight icon sight of Airborne icon airborne enemies and they are rendered untargetable for the duration, with the distance increasing based on how long Keeper's Verdict was channeled.

Going to split this one in "quick cast" and "long cast"
Quick cast is when you press r and instantly cast it throwing your target in the air for 1 second allowing you to repetition closer or finishing your opponent off.

Long cast is where you press r and wait for your hammer to charge up and then casting it making throwing opponents towards their fountain thus preventing them from fighting for a short period of time. 3009.pngEven if your enemy has no slows, these 900 gold boots provide insane stats. Grab this if 3047.png or 3111.png is not great value. (I get this often)


3047.pngI will get tabi if my lane auto attacks a lot like yasuo or tryndamere or your facing a team who auto attacks


=================1st/2nd item===============

3025.pngSheen is really broken if a champion can use it correctly and Poppy is one of them! No question, this is the best sheen item on her because it of the insane cdr (20%) + 65 defense and sheen. It also slows the enemy and will be activated with your passive meaning ranged slows:0.


3071.pngGrab this if your vs a low damage tank such as (Malphite, Naut, tahm or moakai)


3068.pngStardard and solid item vs just about every physical laner, provides Poppy with great wave clear and great stats.


3065.pngMy go to starting item vs a magic damage. Great magic resist, cdr, health and a decent passive. 

3512.png If your super feeding and you need to prevent your enemy laner from taking your tower and so you can get cs without having to risk dying.

3102.pngSecond item vs a heavy ap comp, always grab after 3065.png.

================3rd/4thitems===============

3065.pngEven if only mid or jungle is ap, i would still grab this piece of stat filled green goodness.

3053.pngI dont get this item much but i dont really know why, its a nice 3rd/4th cheap item on Poppy.

3026.pngA good item in every game but i find it better if your ahead because when they finally take you down they gotta do it again:D


3102.pngIf you need more magic resist even after 3065.png

3742.pngGreat synergy with your passive because you can use it from a distance and slow them down.

3075.pngA value buy vs heavy ad like a fed adc

3143.pngStats are great even if you dont make use of the reduced damage on crits, however vs a high crit team (yasuo, jhin, tryndamere) it can be very efficient 

3109.pngI would pick this item if someone on your team is really fed so you already are near them peeling. It grants you great sustain and defense for your carry.

==================Last item=================

3026.pngThe later you get this item, the better it is as you become more tanky, death timers get longer, and winning team fights become game altering. For only 2400 this item should be gotten at some point in the game.

3512.pngI find this to be nice after you lose an inhibitor you can kinda plug up the lane with a 3512.png

 3075.pngLike 3026.png the more tanky you are the better this item is and their adc will end up killing themselves trying to kill you:)


WOMBOS Back to Top

                                  WOMBOS

The undefined.pngaaundefined.png: The most common wombo where you E your opponent into a wall then auto attack then q then w to prevent them from moving. OK yeah it sounds confusing but honestly its really not and the auto attack (aa) will come very natural. 

The 4.pngundefined.png: You can get the back line knocked up (thus granting an easier time doing the EaaQ Wombo) with a simple Flash Ult. 

What can your w block? Well i would spend the hours finding out and making a vid but this lovely dude already did:Dto note that this was released 8 months ago so things that were not included are --> 427.png Q(While Dashing)/ 240.png E and ult / 163.png ult (while moving on the wall) /136.png E.



Who do i undefined.pngaway?  This is a very tricky question but most of the time you want to ult the tanks for easy access to back line.  If you are trying to contest baron using ult on the jungler can be really helpful because it prevents them from smiting.
