Main Summoner Spells

  • FLASH - This summoner spell is probably self explanatory. This is a must have spell for most champions in the game. Reason being, this spell will help you escape a bad situation, save a teammate, or just make a fancy play. No reason to not get this.

  • Teleport - This summoner spell helps Quinn( or most other top laners) get back in laner quicker or help the team around the map. The reason you would take tp is so you woudlnt miss many waves of creeps and to provide global pressure for your team. It also allows you to split push later on in the game.

  • Ignite - This summoner spell is also a very good option to take top. Quinn is a very mobile champion , so she gets in to lane faster than most top laners and also roams a lot quicker. It gives you a lot of kill pressure in lane as well! So if you are feeling very blood thirsty, ignite is always a good option to secure kills top or across the map.

Masteries

Quick Intro 

Most guides will tell you a different set of masteries. I've played Quinn way to many times to understand what's good on her and what's GREAT on her. I love going 18 in Cunning because it gives you more of what you need. When you're playing top Quinn, you tend to build more armor pen and survivability instead of going full AD. The common mistake i see on most Quinn guides is they tell you to build like you would regularly build a Marksman. I fully disagree with that. In this current meta, tanks rule the top lane. Building full AD will not help you shred down those tanks throughout the entire game.This is one of the reasons behind only taking 12 in Ferocity and 18 in Cunning.

Ferocity

  • Fury - Pretty straight forward, attack speed on Quinn is great!
  • Feast - For the nice sustain in lane.
  • Vampirism - Again, good basic sustain.
  • Bounty Hunter - You're playing Quinn, you're bound to get a lot of kills!

Cunning

  • Wanderer - The bonus movement speed will help you roam,chase down targets, and get back to lane faster!
  • Assassin - Honestly you can switch between this or the more sustain from the biscuit, this is preference.
  • Merciless - Pretty straight forward, more damage, more killing.
  • Dangerous Game - Again, a must have on most champions. Helps you out in sticky situations.
  • Presicion - Armor pen because she's AD.
  • Thunderlord's Decree - Best option of all three and is a great mastery in general! You will always come out in trades every time you go in usuing your combo and TLD will just help you out even more.

Abilities

quinnpassive.pngHarrier - (Passive) Valor periodically marks a nearby visable unit as quinnpassive.png Vulnerable and revealing  them for 4 seconds. Quinn's next basic attack against a quinnpassive.png Vulnerable target deals bonus physical damage.

Tips

  • Harrier quinnpassive.pngis your bread and butter for your combo. Utilize it with your other abilities and you win every trade.
  • Also activates when used Blinding Assault quinnQ.png or VaultquinnE.png on the target.
  • The cool down of Harrier quinnpassive.png is reduced by critical chance. 
  • Can critically strike and apply life steal.
  • Enemies marked by harrier quinnpassive.png are revealed for a small bit of time, so they're seen even if they are in a bush.
quinnQ.pngBlinding Assault (Q) - Quinn commands Valor to fly forwards in a line, stopping when he collides with a unit and dealing physical damage and playing nearsight for 1.5 seconds.

Tips

  • Blinding AssaultquinnQ.png is a collision area of affect skillshot.
  • Nearsight means the unit is only able to see 900 range of the surrounding champion and losing allied vision.
  • Take Q at level 2 instead of level 1. You trade way better at level 1 with VaultquinnE.png.
  • Usually use this move either when the enemy champion engages so you can blind him or after you VaultquinnE.png  into Harrierquinnpassive.png auto.
  • This also is the most frustrating ability to play against because once you're hit by it , you are in a huge vision disadvantage. Use that to your advantage when your opponent wants to use high cost abilities to throw him off almost immediately.
  • Makes it difficult for the enemy to land any skill shots and unable to realize if hes getting ganked if timed correctly with your teammate ganking.
quinnW.pngHeightened Senses (W) - Passive: Attacking a quinnpassive.png Vulnerable target grants Quinn bonus attack and movement speed.  Active: Quinn orders Valor to reveal the surrounding area for 2 seconds.

Tips

  • Make sure to play around this ability .For example, if the enemy starts playing a bit aggressive but you're not sure why, use Heightened SensesquinnW.png to see if you are getting ganked or not.
  • Also the cooldown on this ability is fairly long so make sure you use it wisely.
  • The passive for Heightened SensesquinnW.png is her attack speed steroid. 
  • This ability also has no mana cost.
  • Use to your advantage especially when your wards have run out.
quinnE.pngVault (E) - Quinn dashes to the target enemy, knocking them back a short distance, dealing physical damage and slowing them by 50%, which decays over 1.5 seconds, before leaping back and landing away from them.

Tips

  • You have a wide variety of ways to make use of this ability!
  • Quinn is by are in the god tier of level 1 dueling because of this ability. You would auto with your passive then use quinnE.png then auto with your passive again, plus your Thunderlords decree will proc and most likely half health the enemy laner.
  • Remember this ability is a displacement cc, which means you can stop a lot of damage or abilities from other champions if timed correctly.
  • You can hop over many walls if you position correctly. You can vault of minions, neutral monsters, and enemy champions.Useful for chasing enemies or escaping from them.
  • Remember, your Vault quinnE.png also slows the enemy down a bit, once you do use your ability, he will be marked by your passive quinnpassive.png . Then auto him and you gain movement speed from the passive of your WquinnW.png.
  • If you time your Vault quinnE.png  when the enemy dasheslucianE.png, flashes4.png, blinksezrealarcaneshift.png, or Thresh lantern threshW.png, you will follow all the way to the destination with them, causing you to excel at chasing down escaping targets.These are just some examples, there is many other abilities you can do that with. 
quinnR.pngBehind Enemy Lines (R) - Quinn channels 2 seconds for Valor to come and pick her up. While in this form, Quinn gains huge movement speed and is gained the ability to use SkystrikeSkystrike.png.

Skystrike Skystrike (R) - Quinn detaches from Valor ending Behind Enemy LinesquinnR.png effect, and deals 100% AD physical damage to all units around her.

Tips

  • Best used to get to lane way quicker, chase down targets, to gank, or to roam around the map.
  • Using any of your abilities or auto attacking, automatically activates Skystrike when in Behind Enemy Lines form.
  • When damaged by enemy champions or turrets, it takes you out of bird form.
  • Your'e map pressure with TP, Homeguards, and your ultimate form, is ridiculous, Reason being is because you are so mobile and quick and can get to anywhere on the map in a very short amount to time.

Core Items

People usually get the core items wrong , building Quinn differently then you should , especially in the recent meta, and ill tell you how to properly build her.
  • 3142.png This is your item. Without this, Quinn's dueling potential is hit hard. You need this item, i cannot stress that enough. It gives you a great amount of flat damage and also cooldown reduction which is a must have. But the icing on the cake is since you'll be facing mostly tanks now a days, this item gives you armor pen! Plus the active is for the straight burst if you want to assassinate someone or duel someone. This item is a must have!
  • 3156.pngOkay, if you are laning someone who is heavy AP damage, then get this instead of 3142.pngyoumuu's. It gives you very good magic resist and also the shield helps you out in sticky situation and close fights! Plus it gives you that sweet sweet armor penetration that you desperately need to shred through anyone! 
  • 3009.pngOnce you have these two items, roam and make plays, this is your power spike!
  • 3087.png Get this after 3142.png or 3156.png. It gives you must need stats. Crit, which also helps you reduce your passivequinnpassive.png cooldown. It also gives you movement speed for roaming and also the nice attack speed, I generally build this now over Rapid fire cannon3094.png because it was recently nerfed, and just provides great burst!
  • 3053.pngThis should generally be your third item. Reason being because this is such a great defensive item. Usually when you go in to assassinate someone, you will be focused down, but the shield you get from this item just helps you significantly to stay alive!
  • 3031.png3072.png Either one of these items is good as a final item, its more of prefernce, unless they have a tank , if so then get 3036.pngor3033.png.

Optional Offensive Items

  • 3046.png This is if you prefer the stats you get from  3046.png instead of 3087.png . Less burst but more DPS.
  • 3147.pngIf there is mostly squishy targets on the enemy team and you want to snowball super hard, then this item is the one to get if you don't want no defensive items such as 3156.png3053.png.
  • 3139.png If they heavy AP , and a lot of CC, then replace your 3072.pngor 3031.png, which ever you were planning on getting. The active on this item is very very useful and can help you escape very bad situations.

Optional defensive Items

  • 3026.pngIf you want to live twice, then get this.
  • 3102.pngIf they have champions with High burst with CC. Can avoid a lot of bad encounters.

All you have to avoid is his ranged slow (Q)aatroxE.png. Other than that , you blind him, he cant do much. you can also avoid his E aatroxQ.png with your EquinnE.png. Also if he Jumps (Q)aatroxQ.png away , you can follow him with you EquinnE.png. You have range over him, poke him down as many times as you have and you win the match up.

Akali

Medium

This one can be a little difficult. If Akali gets just a little advantage, this lane is over. You can always roam and pick up kills and that way you'll never be out of the game. Reason why Quinn doesn't do to well is Akali has 3 Dashesakalishadowdance.png and can burst her down pretty well.

Cho'Gath

Medium

Cho'Gath is fairly simple to lane against. Just avoid his Qrupture.png and his Wferalscream.png and you

re golden. He just has a lot of sustain from his vorpalspikes.png so its a bit annoying to force him out of lane. Other than that his ultfeast.png is the only scary thing, because of the true damage.

Darius

Easy

Again, pretty simple match up if played properly. Just avoid is grab (E)dariusnoxiantacticsonh.png and stay away from his Qdariuscleave.png range and you will easily win this match up by harassing him continuously because he can't touch you.

Diana

Medium

This match up is pretty tricky. If the Diana is good, she will be able to interrupt your Vault (E)quinnE.png  with her E dianaE.png if timed correctly. She also has a lot of burst so be careful after 6. Pre  6 you should be winning hard.

Dr. Mundo

Easy

Nothing here to say. Mundo can not touch unless you cant dodge his Qinfectedcleavermissilecast.png. Other than that , just zone him and its a free win.

Ekko

Medium

Ekko is a very annoying champion to lane against. He can stick on you very well with his low cool down on his QekkoQ.png and EekkoE.png. Other than that you out damage him. Position yourself correctly and its yours!.

Fiora

Medium

Fiora is a decent match up into Quinn. A good fiora can give you a run for your money because of her Riposte (W)fiorariposte.png. It's able to block your blind and your vault. Plus she has a lot of damage but you still out range her so use that to your advantage.

Medium

Fizz is a problem only when he has his fish (R)fizzmarinerdoom.png. Since he is melee this match up is pretty simple for you, just make sure you don't get sharked!fizzmarinerdoom.png Punish him when his Efizzjump.png is down.

Easy

Pretty easy. Just avoid his Barrels (E) raisemorale.png and it's a free lane.

Garen

Easy

Garen is just very tanky. Avoid his silence(Q)garenslash3.png with a vault(E)quinnE.png and you should be good. Also be careful of that scary ultgarenjustice.png!

Gnar

Medium

Gnar is an interesting champ. you out damage him when he is both mega and mini gnar. Avoid his boomerang(Q)gnarQ.png , its his only poke. Also if he lands his WgnarW.png passive on you, its chunks you, so don't forget to Q quinnQ.png him when you have clear sight. Other than that, just avoid his CC when he his in mega form and you will just kite him.

Graves

Hard

oh boy. This is a tough one. Graves is basically like you but is a bit tankier. He has insane burst, a blind, and is ranged. Exactly like you. In order to win this match up, take smart trades. Make sure you don't stand in his smokescreen (W)gravessmokegrenade.png and blind him(Q)quinnQ.png properly, he has only 2 bullets. This is more of a skill match up. Play it smart and play around your QquinnQ.png and you'll be fine.

OK this just an annoying match up. You beat him in every way, the only problem is his turrets, don't underestimate them, ever!

Easy

Very easy match up, just avoid her Soul Grip (E)illaoiE.png and then you're untouchable.

The most annoying part of this match up is her stun(E)ireliaequilibriumstrike.png, it last ages. Make sure you use your blind(Q)quinnQ.png properly, and if she every Q'sireliagatotsu.png on you, just vault (E)quinnE.png away and you should win this.

Jarvan IV

Easy

Just avoid his Ejarvanivdemacianstandard.png Qjarvanivdragonstrike.png combo and you should out trade him every time! You can also escape from his Cataclysm (R)jarvanivcataclysm.png with your Vault (E)quinnE.png.

Jax

Easy

Pretty easy. Avoid his stun(E)jaxcounterstrike.png with your Vault(E)quinnE.png.  Then just harass him for the rest of the lane.

Jayce

Easy

Jayce is a bit tricky since he is ranged, but if you avoid is big combos, then you can win. When he goes in on you with melee form(R)jayceR.png,just vault away(E)quinnE.png and blind him(Q)quinnQ.png and hes useless.

Medium

Kayle is a bit tough but not to tough! Avoid fights when she has her EkayleE.png active. Once that's on cooldown, bully her.

Medium

As you noticed, most ranged enemies are mot challenging to lane against compared to melee. Kennen is no exeption. Dodge his Q'skennenshurikenhurlmissile1.png . Also he will always try to attack you when has his enhanced auto (W)kennenbringthelight.png.

Easy

Easily harassed down . can't really get to you if you hide behind creeps, so he won't be able to sonic wave(Q)blindmonkqone.png to you and close the gap. If somehow he does close the gap, just vault(E)quinnE.png away to safety.

Malphite

Medium

This rock is just super tanky. Trade from distance because he wont be able to do any damage to you unless he Q'sseismicshard.png you . Be very careful once he is 6. He will call up his jungler and he will ult(R)ufslash.png you with the back up damage from the jungler so always be onyour toes and ward.

Maokai

Easy

Maokai is not a problem at all. Just avoid his sapling(E)maokaisapling2.png damage and his Arcane smash(W)maokaitrunkline.png. Other than that just poke him down.

Easy

Super easy to harass and zone him from stacking(Q)siphoningstrikenew.png at all cost!

Nautilus

Medium

The only reason this champ can be a problem is because he is very tanky and provides a lot of CC. Don't trade when he has his shield up(W)nautiluspiercinggaze.png and dont be in range for his Enautilussplashzone.png because that is all his damage.

Medium

Olaf can be a problem if not played properly. Don't let him hit you with his axes(Q)olafaxethrowcast.png

Medium

Pantheon can be difficult for most unless you play it properly. You can avoid pantheons stun(W)pantheon_leapbash.png with timed perfectly with your vault(E)quinnE.png. The most annoying thing about laning against this champion his his passive. make sure you take it down before doing your combo.

Hard

By far the hardest match up from experience. Poppy provides a lot of CC with her stun (E)poppyheroiccharge.png. So make sure you don't stand near a wall.She has a ranged auto that also grants her a shield so don't trade when she has that up. Her Qpoppydevastatingblow.png does a lot of damage if you get hit by both effects. The most crucial thing about her is her Wpoppyparagonofdemacia.png, it stops you from vaulting away(E)quinnE.png. So if you want to get away and you're getting ganked make sure to vault away when her Wpoppyparagonofdemacia.png is down.

Rammus

Medium

Just very tanky, easy to deal with. Make sure he doesn't get any early kills and ask for ganks early on to shut him down.

Renekton

Medium

If he closes the gap with his Dash (E)renektonsliceanddice.png and is able to stun(W)renektonpreexecute.png Qrenektoncleave.png combo you it hurts, so make sure you blind him (Q)quinnQ.pngwhen he goes in on you and then leap(E)quinnE.pngaway.

Riven

Medium

If played correctly, you can make the riven completely useless. You can interrupt her triple Qriventricleave.png by vaulting(E)quinnE.png on her when she is mid air. Remember, your blind(Q)quinnQ.png is key in these match ups, use it wisely!

Rumble

Medium

Rumble is a bit tough. His shield(W)rumbleshield.png is always up so its hard to do a lot of damage to him. He also does a good amount of damage so avoid standing in Flame spitter(Q)rumbleflamethrower.png range.

Ryze

Medium

Try to to get hit by his Q'soverload.png and you should be fine. When he goes in on you , he will snare(W)runeprison.png you but if you time your blind(Q)quinnQ.png when he snares(W)runeprison.png you, he wont be able to follow up with damage. Don't let him get big. Ask for ganks, he has no mobility.

Shen

Easy

Shen is simple. You can negate his taunt(E)shenshadowdash.png by vaulting(E)quinnE.png as he does that. Other than that harass him and you'll be fine.

Sion

Medium

Sion is an interesting one. His slow(E)enrage.png is annoying so avoid that. You can also interrupt his knock up (Q)crypticgaze.png by vaulting(E) quinnE.png as he channels it.

Teemo

Medium

Well we all know this. Don't trade when he blinds(Q)blindingdart.png you. Once that's down, combo him. actually a very easy match up expect for this blind(Q) blindingdart.png and his shrooms(R)bantamtrap.png later on in the game.

Trundle

Medium

Trundle is a hard match up. He has the pillar(E)trundleE.png to really screw you over. Postition your self well and ask for ganks early to shut him down.

Tryndamere

Easy

very simple. Zone him from the farm, and he'll become useless. you can also follow him when he spins(E) slashcast.pngaway with your vault(E)quinnE.png if timed correctly.

Urgot

Easy

Avoid his Eurgotplasmagrenade.png and he wont be able to touch you at all. His shield(W)urgotterrorcapacitoractive2.png will be the most annoying thing, other than that its an easy match up for you.

Hard

Ok this one is very difficult if not played correctly. The sustain is what keeps him in lane and forces you to not being able to roam or back. try toavoid him when he has 4 stacks up with his Evladimirtidesofblood.png. Use blind (Q)quinnQ.pngproperly.

Warwick

Easy

Very easy. Zone him , don't let him sustain with autos, harass him with your combo.

Wukong

Easy

Very easy because of your blind(Q)quinnQ.png. If he cant see you , cant hurt you.

Welcome and thank you for checking out my guide! I spent some good time making this guide, and I hope you guys enjoy it and hoping it makes you guys better Quinn players! I'll tell you a quick introduction to myself. Hey, my names Ramzy! I started playing back in season 2 and reached Diamond in season 3 on the EUNE sever. Then I started playing on the NA server because of all my friends. I hit Platinum last season, and just recently hit it again this season. Only downside is I play on 240 ping, only thing really hindering me from climbing the NA ladder. I started playing Quinn after she was changed with the Marksman update. I play her in 4 roles. Started by playing her in the jungle then moved to top, where she is the strongest! Why Quinn?

The reason Quinn captivated me is her kit and how she is played. She is an insane snowbally champion, so if you pick up some early kills from roaming or from lane, you are bound to carry the rest of the entire game if played right! She also is played as often as other "meta" picks, so most people don't know how to play against her and you can use that toy our advantage! Most importantly she is super fun and enjoyable to play as! I can't say the same for the receiving end. The thing about Quinn is if you are a bit behind in lane, you can roam so well and pick up kills that way and also provide pressure for your team. The amount of damage you put out in games is just ridiculous.

Like most champions, Quinn has many pro's and con's. I'm here to tell you what they are!

Strengths

  • Ranged Champion - Since Quinn is ranged, she is able to bully most melee champions, and trade sufficiently against them.
  • Split pushing - Later on in the game, you are able to split push quite well. Since most people are not able to 1v1 duel you , you will draw a lot of attention. Also you are so mobile you will be able to catch up to your team without missing much.
  • Unique - Quinn is not a very common pick, so people rarely see her. Use this as your advantage, most people do not know how to play against her.
  • Mobility - Her speed and quickness maneuvering the map is one of her biggest plus's. She has the ablity to escape, chase down targets, roam, or get to lane quicker than most champs.
  • Amazing Burst -  Quinn can easily pick of a stray target and 100 to 0 him very quickly!

Weaknesses

  • Fairly squishy - With the right build, you definitely are much beefier but you are still squishier than a full blown tank. If you are focused down and also CC'd , good luck.
  • Awkward Team fighting - Only the smart players know how to team fight with any champion. With Quinn, you can either burst down the AD or AP, or you can play like an ADC and fight of the front line by kiting them. You have to see how the team fighting is going in order to know how to play it out.
  • A medium skill floor - You're not immediately going to be a god at this champion. like other champions, it takes more than a couple games and learning the in and outs of the champion to excel on her. But once you do, you're absolutely unstoppable!

Early Game With Quinn

Laning 


  • Quinn has a very good laning phase. She doesn't come up with many problems.
  • What you would want to is constantly ward! Cannot stress this enough!
  • Quinn is very vulnerable to ganks. Any junglers with follow up CC with there laner can lock you down and secure the kill on you.
  • Your level 1 is one of the strongest in the game, make sure you make use of it.
  • You can out trade most melee top laners so continue to harass them.
  • Focus on CSing most than anything else.
  • Make sure you use yourquinnpassive.png and time is so you can use it on your enemy
  • Eventually you'll be strong enough to zone him because of all your harass.
  • If you died maybe to a gank or a misplay, and you start to lose lane, make sure you roam, you excel at this and it can definitely help you get you back into the game.

Mid Game With Quinn

Mid Game -

 This is where most turrets start falling down and you start progressing your build and start fighting over objectives.
  • Know where to be and when to be - Start paying attention to the map way more often now. Look for picks with your jungler or mid laner. Start roaming more often and apply more pressure throughout the entire map instead of just top.
  • Don't fight unnecessary fights - Don't start skirmishes that you don't know you can come out on top. Make smart decisions and pick out the fight. If its a 2v2 , make sure your teammate is in a situation that he can win the fight with you, For example, if enemy adc has heal and he doesn't, they have the advantage. 
  • Start looking for win conditions - At this point of the game, you now know who is fed, who isn't, who has what advantage. If there is an enemy that is super fed, grab a couple of teammates and shut her down. Better 3v3? Fight over objectives that you can take and if a fight breaks out and you know you can win it, go for it.
  • Don't run into High CC burst - As Quinn, you tend to roam a lot, so make sure you don't run into unfriendly company that can burst you down if you're locked down. Avoid going to uncharted territory when you don't know where the enemy is.

What should I do?

Well that's why I am here, to guide you through this! ( wow that isn't cheesy at all)
This part of the game is where most of the carries are nearing full builds and 2nd tier towers are falling.
  • Play Smart - Don't make silly decisions. You shouldn't be doing that wraith camp when your team is near dragon fighting, all because you needed 120 gold. Know when to stay with the team and when to go split push. Always pay attention to the waves. If you have to push a wave, push it out and then fly right back to your team.
  • Don't get caught - I've said this before, Quinn is not the tankiest champion to hit the rift, so if you get caught and get bursted down, that is a big disadvantage for your team. You provide so many advantages with Quinn to your team, so getting caught can really set back your team in general.
  • Know who to go for in team fights - When its late in the game, one fight can flip the entire match around. Make sure you know who to focus down. If the enemy carries aren't too big of a problem but the front line is, help your ADC or MID laner kite them. You provide good utility to the fight with your QquinnQ.png .
  • Your QquinnQ.png is huge if used properly! - This ability can literally win a team fight. For example, you blind the enemy ADC, he has no idea where he is and who to attack, then everyone can jump on him and he wouldn't notice until its too late, and so forth. Blind someone and you can stop them from casting abilities or attacking for a good amount of time for your team to follow up and boom, team fight won.
