Summoner Spells Back to Top

Flash and Smite are used on almost every jungler. Flash is a very resourceful summoner spell to have for chasing or escapes. However, ghost can be used in combination with his ult to get to places quicker.

Max your Q first as it is your main damage output.

Max your ult whenever you can because of how useful it is for you ganks.
In between W and E, it should be maxed situationally.
Max your W 2nd if you need the sustain in the jungle or feel like the extra Magic Resist and Armor it gives will be useful.
Max your E 2nd if you want a bit more damage or enemies are getting away from your ganks.

In lower elo, taking your W second will help you sustain first buff, but taking E second will increase your damage output to the buff.

By taking W at level 2 instead of E, you are sacrificing faster clear speed for greater health after you clear the camps. Your empowered W will heal you significantly and give you bonus Armor and Magic Resist.

By taking E however, you would sacrifice your health after first buff for faster clear speed on the buffs. This means that you can gank a lane faster, or back faster to get more items.

Empowered abilities are very useful in ganks and fights so be sure to use them properly. Each one of the empowered abilities have their benefits to use and have reasons to use them in different situations.
s and APCs. It is an auto attack reset ane when empowered, gives you a lot of extra attack speed. This spell does single target damage as it is an empowered auto attack so you must use it on the right targets. It does have a s

Your Q is used in the jungle a lot for faster clear speed. It is also very potent in helping you assassinate ADCs and APCs. It is an auto attack reset ane when empowered, gives you a lot of extra attack speed. This spell does single target damage as it is an empowered auto attack so you must use it on the right targets. It does have a short cooldown so it won't lose you the fight if you misuse it.

Your W is used in team fights because it gives you resistance. For both versions of the spell, you gain Armor and Magic Resist. This spell scales off of AP so it won't do too much damage. It's empowered version of the spell does bonus damage and heals you. This is very important for sustaining in early stages. As the jungle has gotten a lot more tough, sustain is very important. The empowered version also gives you bonus armor and magic resist making it a possible spell to empower in a team fight. This spell can hit multiple targets so you can use it to clear jungle camps quicker.

Your E is a skill shot slow. When you throw you bola, it does damage and slows. It scales with AD so it should do quite a lot of damage in the late game. This is not as useful for clearing jungle camps as monster won't really run away from you, but it is really useful for when you are not ganking with you ultimate and chilling smite. When empowered, it does bonus damage and it snares. The target can still use spells while snared, but cannot move around. This is a crucial spell that can change your ganks. This can only hit one target so make sure that you hit the right target. The spell has a much longer cool down than your Q so be careful when and who you use it on.

Your ult stealths you from enemy vision and reveals an area around you for a period of time. This can be used to see where low health enemies are backing or used to lane gank without the worry of the opponent team seeing you come in. When you are invisible, the next attacking move that you do will reveal you. You can take advantage of this by jumping at them and then snaring them point blank with your E. Even if they use a gap closer, they still will be slowed. If you chilling smite them while you are jumping, they can't really react and they will be stuck can cannot get away from you ganks.

You item that is special an unique for Rengar is the bone tooth necklace. You gain 1 stack from kills and assists. You can have a maximum of 20 stacks. You get bonuses based on how many stacks you have. It is a bit better than other stacking items such as Sword of the Occult because you don't lose stacks on death. It can be helpful, but most of the higher tier buffs from the necklace are not as important as if you were to get them early game.

Core Items

Build brutilizer first, but don't finish your jungle enchantment. Rushing these core items will do a lot more damage. Then finish your lucidity boots and finally Tiamat.

VS

Amumu

Easy

He is weak early so counter jungle early to throw him off his game.

VS

Elise

Medium

Don't fight her early as you are both the same power level. Engage her later.

VS

Evelynn

Medium

You are stronger, but she can take your farm easily because of her passive.

VS

Jarvan IV

Medium

He is stronger early game so stay away from him. You will be able to fight him later.

VS

Kha'Zix

Hard

Very hard to fight 1v1 because of his Q. Try to stay away from him until very late game.

VS

Lee Sin

Hard

He is way too strong for you to fight early.

VS

Master Yi

Easy

He is not too strong early. Deny his farm by counter jungling and he won't be too much of a threat late game.

VS

Pantheon

Hard

Pantheon counters Rengar so don't fight him. His shield blocks a lot of your damage from hitting so you can't really assassinate him.

VS

Vi

Easy

She isn't strong early so you fight her. Counter jungling stops her from becoming a big threat.

VS

Wukong

Easy

If you can avoid using your spells on his clone, he is easy for you to kill.

About my guide Back to Top

This is my guide on Rengar. Rengar can be played as a Tank or a full out Assassin. He can be played top lane or in the jungle. My guide will be teaching you how to play Jungle Rengar with a hybrid build of Assassin and Tank. This is so that you can carry your team to victory, but not be too squishy to the attacks of the other team.

About Rengar Back to Top

Rengar's skill set is wonderful for playing in the jungle as it offers damage, crowd control and sustain. His ult allows him to sneak in undetected (unless there are pink wards) into lanes and quickly assassinate squishy targets such as the ADC or the APC.

Passive
Rengar jumps at his opponents when in the brush or stealthed.

This can be easily used to your advantage because you can catch up to fleeing enemies simply by stepping into a bush!

When Rengar uses an ability, he builds 1 point of Ferocity, at 5 ferocity, his next ability has bonus effects.

Q

Rengar's next basic attack within 3 seconds deals bonus physical damage

This is your main damage output and will do a lot when assassinating high priority targets.

When this is empowered, it deals bonus damage and gains attack speed. This is very useful for clearing jungle camps because of the damage output and the attack speed boost.

W

Rengar lets out a roar dealing AOE damage.

This scales off of AP so it doesn't do too much damage. It gives you bonus armor and magic resist so use it to increase your survivability.

When empowered, it heals you, does bonus damage and gives you increased armor and magic resist. It is useful for sustaining in the newer, tougher jungle. Use in a team fight to get the resistance so you don't die too easily.

E

Rengar throws a bola slowing the first target it hits.

This will do damage and is in a way, Rengar's poke. You can use it to get more ferocity safely and check jungle camps. This is used in ganks so that the target can't get away.

R

Rengar stealths himself and gains movement speed.

This is used to get into a lane undetected for ganks. It builds 5 ferocity after you unstealth so you can burst a target down easy.

Tips Back to Top

Always get 5 ferocity points before ganking

You can use your ultimate to escape from bad situations

Remember to use your empowered spells correctly

Before going for a gank, ask the laners to look for pink wards. Pink wards can see you even if you ult.

Try to farm until level 6, your ganks aren't too good before that.
