rumbleflamethrower.png  Spam your Flamespitter at the start of the match to get into the danger zone for increased damage. This is your bread and butter for easy Hunters Talisman triggers and dishing out damage in fights.

rumbleshield.png Combo's with Flamespitter for a relatively easy jungle clear, as well as a soft gap closer for your Flamespitter damage. Typically used right before your Q for maximum effort.

rumblegrenade.png Learn the range on these as they can be a little tricky to get down. You can make a lot of cheeky plays through walls to catch people off guard with the slow. Try to wait 2 seconds after connecting one to get the most amount of slow applied, especially after Rylai's is completed. Typically combos with W>Q>E>AA>E

rumblecarpetbomb.png If you can't smart cast this ability it's okay, but I would recommend learning how to. Just predict where the enemy will run and fire it along that line. If there are multiple opponents clumped up, WAIT UNTIL THEY ALL WALK IN THE SAME DIRECTION. If they're moving together in a line, you're more likely to get a kill when they attempt to disperse after dropping your ultimate. To smart cast this ability, hold down R until you're ready to use the ultimate, then release R. Your cursor's original position when pressing R will dictate the origin of the Equalizer, and you can choose an axis around that point to fire it by moving your cursor while R is held down.

rumblepassive.png There are times when overheating is beneficial, but there are also times when it can be severely detrimental. Try to overheat with Q while your Scrap Shield is up so you can follow up with overheated Auto Attacks. In the mid game these autos do TONS OF DAMAGE to squishies. Really, they do an ass load of damage. My preferred combo to maximize overheating hinges on already being at 40-45 Heat. I recommend staying around that point with Q and W throughout the game, regardless of whether or not you're using the abilities to actually deal or prevent damage. The combo from 40 heat is R>W>Q>E>E>AA. You can also Flash immediately after any of the abilities to either counter the enemy flash or get a cheeky slow with your harpoon.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Talisman > Machete because of FlameSpitter
    First Back
If you can't afford Runic Echoes on 2nd Back, Sorc>Wisp
At level 9 swap to Oracles and by then you should have Runic
Take one of these as your first core item
Viable Boot Options (Don't get completely set on sorc shoes)

Core Items

    General Final Build
Take vs Heavy MR (can take instead of abyssal)
Good vs Heavy AD and Burst Comps
Take if you need to push a side lane against heavy AP teams
vs Soraka, Mundo, Nidalee, Illaoi, Swain
Iron Elixir > Sorcery Elixir UNLESS YOU HAVE MERC TREADS
    very far ahead items

Situational Items

The main varying item in your build should be your Boot choice.

Merc Treads - Take against heavy CC where you're playing a frontline role.
Sorc Boots - Versus heavy magic resistance itemization early on.
Ninja Tabi - Against a fed ADC or a ton of auto attack damage.
Lucidity Boots - When you're against immobile champions with little CC (lol never)
Swiftness Boots - General all-around safe option

Big debate going on right now about whether or not Hextech Protobelt is worth it. Many Rumble mains don't like Rylai's due to the recent slow stacking changes, but it's my personal preference to use it. Will update shortly.

VS

Diana

Easy

Pretty basic. Farm until 6.

VS

Ekko

Easy

He does a ton of damage, but with good vision there's hardly anything he can do. Counter jungle when he ganks and keep heavy wards.

VS

Elise

Medium

Will most likely try and invade at Level 2/3. Make sure your team is aware of the possible pressure at your buffs, and DO NOT 1v1 her until you're level 5.

VS

Gragas

Medium

Just counter jungle him when he ganks and don't underestimate his tankiness, overall a very easy match-up with very telegraphed movement from Gragas.

VS

Graves

Easy

Beats you in almost every 1v1. Not too much of a threat when it comes to being invaded by, so just farm.

VS

Kindred

Hard

She'll apply a ton of pressure early and this hurts your ability to get farm without flame from your team. Deny all of her camps that pop up in your jungle, and try not to skirmish with her unless you have a numbers advantage.

VS

Lee Sin

Medium

You'll have a difficult time dueling him at early levels in the jungle, so I recommend taking 9x Flat Armor seals in this match-up to prevent any early gimps when he attempts to skirmish in your jungle or around the rift scuttler. Try to predict his ganks to counterjungle or countergank.

VS

Master Yi

Medium

Easy early game, almost impossible to deal with late game. Shut him down by rushing lvl 6 and applying heavy pressure.

VS

Nidalee

Medium

She's gonna invade, invade, invade. Always be careful, and she WILL jump/burst you from 500 units away at every opportunity. This can be obnoxious, but I've found that Nidalee has trouble matching Rumble's pressure once reaching level 6. If you can get some good ganks around the 7-8 minute mark she'll have a tough time recovering her laners.

VS

Nocturne

Easy

Take 9x Flat Armor Seals and move towards lanes that are extended past the midway point at around 6 minutes to counter his nocturneparanoia.png ganks early.

VS

Rengar

Easy

Easy to shut down early. Take 9x Flat Armor seals and go to town.

VS

Shyvana

Hard

Her speed and late game pressure is pretty insane. If you don't snowball 1 or 2 lanes then this match up is going to be very tough. Every time you show in a lane a good Shyvana will punish you by taking your entire jungle on the opposite side of the map, so make sure you get value out of your ganks.

VS

Udyr

Medium

His invades can cripple you early, but with Rylais his mid game becomes very tough so long as you have a somewhat mobile ADC. Counter gank often.

VS

Xin Zhao

Medium

Don't 1v1. Beware of counter ganks turning into awful 0 for 2s
