4.png Is a MUST spell for any match, as the escape and to secure a kill.

1.png Just for Match ups who has a lot of CC( 1.png90.png107.png112.png26.png245.png For example)

The 21.png Is for security of extra damage Like ignition , 115.png ultimate and so others.

14.png Is for  "IM COMPLETELY SURE IM GOING TO WIN THE EARLY TRADES", agressive plays and easy match-ups.

This is a main burst damage for any wizard or assasin Ap


The Sorcery will increase your late game AP by 2%, which it doesnt seem to much, but it synergizes with our pasive, with rod of ages and also with Archangels staff, so it will give you at lvl 18 around of 20-50 extra ap.
Double Edged sword to increase damage a little more
Natural talent increases mid game damage a little more
Oppresor will be a key mastery, same as with merciless. since it will increase you damage dealt while in runic prisson

Savagery to increase your damage while farming, good in early game
Assassin to increase your solo lanning fase damage
Merciless, while using your combo you'll decrease your enemy hp to the 40%, so when combo repeats, it will vanish your foe
Dangerous game, if the battle left you with low hp, it can be the key of surviving or the death
Precision COMPLETELY Synergizes with your magic pen. Runes, also with the Sorcery boots and Abbysal scepter
Thunderlord's Decree will be the "FINAL HIT COMBO", all the ap stats, the total Magic penetration and all the AP bought till mid-late game, With your build you would be able to delete ADCarries with just one combo (Since Magic penetration will reduce their Magic resist aprox. to 5- -10 if they didnt build any defensive item)

Stormraider's Surge is also a good choice for your masteries, but i dont recomend it for Two reasons

1.- Since you Early combo gides you an extra speed movement this one is not as useful as we would want, good but not as wished
2.- This will reduce a little your combo damage, it may let you at 1 basic/ability to kill the enemy, and then, you'll get killed or ganked, so we go for secured damage.

This is my Starter habilities order

We star with  spellflux.png to farm a little (Since it expands to closer minions if target gets killed it's useful for farming)
Use E wisely to farm, Then at lvl 2 start the trades using spellflux.pngspellflux.png overload.png To maximize damage and hit enemy champs
At lvl 3 the true trades starts, spellflux.pngspellflux.pngruneprison.pngoverload.png to champs, With Thunderlord you'll deal at least 45% of enemy health, but since you're manaaddict try not to battle for too long, unless you have Tear of the Goddes

We keep upgrading our spellflux.png , cuz it will increase our overload.png damage from 50% to 100%, Then we maximize our overload.pngand at the end Either R or runeprison.png  since runeprison.pngwill garantize a clear damage dealt from your combo its good to maximize before our overload.png too

The desperatepower.png, will be useless, unless you have a "good Team" (Remember that in low elo Team coordination isn't as good as we would want) Usefull for closer ganks at lvl 6, at lvl 11 its good for a complete team ambush to the back of the enemy team.

Starting Items

    Start with, While farming it will let you stay in lane a little more
    Another good start with, not good for staying in lane
    Another good option, not going to buy much mana pots
    First and second back RUSh Tear of the goddes as fast as you can since it will be your core to increase damage at late game
    First blasting wand to increase ap a little while in laning fase Catalyst of aeons as third or 4th back to increase mana and health stats
    Go this for the CDR and if you're going to Abbysal scepter, Zhonyas

Core Items

    FINAL FULL AGRESSIVE BUILD
    Defensive build for AP-AD enemy team composition
    Go this if enemy is full AD one, you'll stand a little more

Situational Items

    If need CDR-Movement-Extra Damage And the enemy team has no tanky champs

Early game, Trades, Roams and ganks Back to Top

Since ryze rework, it's a lot easier to master him, just if you're good a combos (Not like Solo QKey champs)


While in early, all you have to worry about it's farm, Dont stop farming

spellflux.png<---- This is your main Ability to farm, Lasthit minions with this, expand the spellflux.png as much as you can and land it to enemy champs

till lvl 4 it will start the fights. 

The most common combo to poke spellflux.png on minions spellflux.png again to expand it till hit an enemy champ, then overload.png to increase damage on minons and enemies if the spellflux.png landed on them, then repeat until you're out of mana. Your backs to base will only be for two cases

1.- Out of Mana or low Hp. when low of mana, you have two choices, keep farming and earn a little more mana if having doran's ring. If low HP, DON'T STAY IN LINE if you dont have RoA, other than that, you'll be safe.

2.- Going For Tear of the goddes. the faster you get this, you'll stay in lane a lot more.

Remember, You're Fragile AF in early game, Dont try to tank any attacks (Tank turret shoots, ADC shoots, or any kind of damage) Stand in the back of your team. Wait for a good attack in solo or while your jungle ganking your lane.

If going to Roam any other lane, take this in consideration

1.- In early game you don't deal that much damage (going to top or bot with enemy tanks on lanes won't end too good) But a try to evade any other gank will boost your team confidence
2.- If you don't see the enemy on lane, Go ASAP to another lane, secure a kill while the other player isn't in lane, or follow him, don't let him roam any other lane.
3.- If goind to gank any lane, Start ALWAYS with spellflux.pngruneprison.png to increase stun a second more. Your team mates will go on if it's a secure kill, Dont rush on tanks, Not till you have a good damage items

Mid Game. Start of Turret destructions Back to Top

This is where our wizard starts to have a very good role.


While you reach lvl 8-13 you have to much options, but i'll tell you a some of my useful

1.- Farming

Farming is a way to earn more mana while having RoA and tear of the goddes. Farm with spellflux.pngspellflux.pngspellflux.pngspellflux.png, LastHits, Expand, Expand Earn gold. Good to farm. 

2.-Pushing own and other lanes

While pushing always have a PINK ward in any side of the river, and a normal ward to increase your vision on river ganks. If you already killed the enemy mid laner and the jungler isnt on sight, Do as much damage to turret as posible, if destroyed, you'll push your team to push (dah) and enemy to focus you, so other lanes will push without fear. 

3.- Battleling and helping

Dealing enemies wont always finish in a death on any side, but it will ad pressure on everyone, since you'll try to push till lvl 2 turret. While earning kills, don't overtrust your skills. Keep on the help in any other lane, the more damaged one will be your principal objective, as enemy champ and enemy turret. 

Till all the outhern turrets are getting destroyed, you will complete a half of your build. If everything goes good, your KDA must be 3/0/4 since your laning fase went good and you roamed like a god.

Late Game. Team Fights, 3rd and 4th dragons, Baron and inhibithor Back to Top

This is where the clue key of the match will be faced off.


ALWAYS go with a tank of your team (Support tanked, Jungle tanked, Top tanked or you go tanked (Frozen hearth and zhonyas) with your ADCarry) And start pushing any lane where your minions have pushed enough to secure the turret destruction, Try to Destroy all the possible turrets to add presure on enemy team.

TEAMFIGHTS

DONT GO LIKE "I'm the god and i will never die", This is the worst think you can do
1.- you will start spreading spellflux.png on closer minons to hit enemy champs, When spellflux.png must damaged enemies land your overload.png and you'll deal enough damage to make enemies go back, Then, there's where your team will start the fight. your desperatepower.png will help you and your team to fight them in their backs. FOCUS ADC or fragile enemies, NEVER TANKS, You dont deal that much damage, unless you have Void Staff.

2.- If already losing the fight, Try to Bait enemies on you, Use your desperatepower.png to save the allies damage and try to deal more damage on enemies, this can be the comeback of your team if well made the play


Dragons And Baron

1.- Since your damage is almost like an adc while using spellflux.png and overload.png  on dragons will let you secure them
If enemy jungler is killing the dragon, use your desperatepower.png  with your ADc, Tank, top laner or jungler (This is the safest way to secure the steal) so you'll earn the dragon, and secure a kill or two., dont stay for long, or the battle will go on for the enemy team

2.- Baron Fight is always an epic one when it can decide the match. desperatepower.png  With all the team to steal baron, Your role in the baron battle is to make peel, deal damage to enemies since you will be full builded, and let your tanks and jungler secure the baron and enemy kills, Let the kills to your ADCarry, and if there's no other option, you'll sacrifice to win this battle. If well dealt damage on enemy team, you will be able to take down ALL the turrets from mid to nexus.

Dont understimate the Stats you'll have, you can carry on the match if you dont lose your brain while going to late games. Good luck on your Road out of low elo.

Mana items, Why and when Back to Top

Since Ryze's abilities deal extra damage depending on your maximum mana this is a forced entry, Lets check some of the items We will need.


Tear of the goddes:

A forced item for ryze (and any other wizard who is manadict, like syndra) Always Rush for it to add extra damage to your abilities, and will increase your fight winning chances since it will increase your mana stats

Archangel's Staff:

Increases your AP for a 3% of your maximum mana, adding your AP stats around of 80-100 When already in Late game, When fully charged, it synergises with your Combo, since it gives you a shield that absorbs damage, activate your Fully charged Archangel's Staff, the shield will increase, Go for it when you have 700/750 extra mana from the Tear of the Goddes Pasive.

Rod Of Ages:

A MUST buy for any match, your 2nd or 3rd item, depending on your enemy composition. Since Rod Of Ages give you as Starting stats 300+ of mana/health and 60 of AP, when it passed 10minutes of being bought, it will increase to 500Hp, 400Mana and 100 of AP, One of the best items you should buy to survive, Also, since it's new pasive returns you 20% of health related of the Mana cost, spamming abilities will return you HP, And, 15% of the damage dealt to champs is returned as Mana, So, this is the best choice for Mid Game.

Frozen Hearth:

Why? Just look at the stats, Extra mana, it will boost your ability damage, Armour, will let you 1v1 almost any enemy (unless they have Much Armor penetration or life Steal). And, Of course The extra 20% CDR.
We buy this as 4th-5th item, to endure in team fights, to deny enemy ADCarries to Delete you, boost your AP, Boost your Abilities CD and will grant your extra +100 Ap when Archangel's staff Already bought.

A mage must go for Ap, But Not always you should Focus on AP items, Try To Take this on Consideration while playing Ryze.


Abbyssal Scepter:

Early Game and a good item when against Ap Enemies, Also when you have AD enemies. Let's check it out.
If enemy mid laner is poking to much and its Ap stats are damaging you too much, Start building it, Will increase your Magical Resistance, since it's pasive will reduce enemy MR you should be able to Stay in line a little more, Deal extra damage to the enemy when in Aura radius and the CDR it gives it's good enough as 2nd full item When late game, it will synergise With sorcery boots (+15 flat Magic Pen), your Masteries (Presicion will increase your Magic Pen), And your Magic penetration Runes. 

Morellonomicon: 

I dont usually go for it. Its stats never convinced me, But let's check it out. Gives you a little more mana (+400) And +100Ap, Its pasives are good enough when enemy has too much Life Steal since it applies Grievous Wounds, So it reduces Enemy Life Steal. I dont usually go for it but it will be a must when enemies has too much sustain ( 8.png abilities, 114.png when matching at top lane and any other AdCarries when they already bought  The Bloodthirster) But you'll sacrifice the Stats of Frozen hearth or the active of zhonyas, depending on what you won't buy. A Bad choice? Not at all, but you'll have to take a choice.

Type of boots:

Depending on enemy composition. Lets take a look to each
-When you have a good Mid Lane match up, Go for sorcery boots, will increase your damage to any other champ, will help you to carry the match
-When you have a bad Mid Match, You have two options.
       1.- Ninja Tabi. The enemy is Ad (Yasuo, Zed, Talon For example) and will let you survive a little more. 
       2.- Mercury's Treads. If enemy AP is a hard match up, go this, and will let you survive in lane, but it will be your surviving key till buying Abbysal Scepter
-When you have a good match up, but need a little more CDR, Go for Ionian boots of Lucidity, increases movement, Add CDR of abilities and Summoner Spells.

Rabadon's DeathCap:

Until i've putted it on my Core, It has some bad and good points, Let's check it

Good point. It FULLY synergises with Archangels, Rod Of Ages, your Extra mana damage of your pasive. increasing your damage like a monster.  BUT

Bad point, It will decrease other stats (Armor with zhonyas, Frozen hearth and CDR) and in late game, if the enemies had already bought Magical resistance, wont let you buy the Void staff to make it easier to battle them. 


Those items are optional choice's.
