Summoner Spells Back to Top

Split n' Gank: Map pressure Style 12.png (Advanced)

  • This summoner spell has been used heavily since Season 4 by top laners, and sometimes used by mid laners, and junglers.
  • Bot lane ganks have become more rampant so it's getting more important to be able to quickly group with your team for Dragon fights or counter-ganking.
  • This is great for split pushing, and grouping with your team mid to late game is more crucial now since the Season 4 changes.
  • This is great on 27.png because you can use your fling.png to cancel your opponent's 12.png while you're still able to use it.
  • Don't use this to get back to lane. Use it only to gank other lanes *cough* bot lane *cough*
  • It's more important now than ever to have this ability because objectives are more rewarded (new dragon, herald etc) and death timers are longer.
  • In the worst case scenario, 12.png can create map pressure and allow you to be near your team when they need you. In the best case scenario, it could lead to you winning a team fight and getting your team multiple kills + assists.
  • In the worst case scenario, you waste 14.png on a champion you would have killed anyway. Best case scenario, 14.png rewards you a single kill you wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
  • Don't get 14.png I don't trust players with this anymore so always go 12.png
  • Here are some sample videos that clearly show why 12.png is better than 14.png

Nobody Expects The 4.png

  • Since 6.png got nerfed into oblivion, this is the only other spell left to take
  • Nobody expects 27.png to use 4.png, so you'll catch a lot of people by surprise
  • Use this to get over walls or to secure that critical game-changing fling.png

RIP 6.png

  • Don't get this anymore, it's garbage
  • Nerfed to hell thanks to mid laners, now movement speed "ramps up" over 2 seconds which sucks

New Runes Back to Top

Primary: Resolve

  • This tree contains access to tankyness and survivability, especially late game scaling. Aftershock.png?width=32 is still king, so we take this but now with Inspiration for a total of +130 starting HP.
  • Aftershock.png?width=32 was the keystone in this tree that was made for 27.png. It gives roughly 40 armor and MR in the early game, and in late game can give upwards of like 110 armor and 86 MR once you proc it. It procs from your fling.png so it's great for when you initiate team fights or get into the enemy backline. The damage on it is nice too, but it's not as important as the tankyness.
  • Perseverance.png?width=32 is a no-brainer, probably the best rune in this tree. It gives a ton of tenacity (way more than previous masteries) from just using your summoner spells. Most critical game-changing fights you start will be after a clutch 12.png or 4.png. If you have simply one summoner on cooldown, this is 10% tenacity or 37% with 3111.png. If used after you 12.png into a fight and/or 4.png into an enemy backline, you're looking at 35% tenacity on its own, and 55% tenacity with 3111.png. If you also have 2138.png in the late game, it can legit give up to 66% tenacity which is insane!
  • Conditioning.png?width=32 is the best of this subtree because at 10 minutes you get free resists and a 5% TOTAL resists multiplier. Previous masteries from other seasons only multiplied bonus stats so you get a lot out of this especially when combined with your insanitypotion.png. Again, makes rushing AP items feel not as bad because you still get noticeable amounts of tankyness. Here is a quick summary of what these resists might look like. At around level 9 (close to when it activates), it gives you about 11 armor and 10 MR without items. At level 18 with no items, it's 13 armor and 11 MR with no items, you get 17 armor and 15 MR with your ultimate. If you have armor and MR items, this rune can give upwards of 24 armor and 18 MR. This rune also works very nicely with Aftershock.png?width=32, lots of synergy.
  • Bone%20Plating.png?width=32 is the new early game damage mitigation rune. It's great against AP and AD laners, you can safely take this on either and it's better than any other choice in that subtree.
Secondary: Inspiration
  • This tree not only contains access to a lot of utility and movement speed, which  27.png likes a lot. It also gives you a total of +130 HP when combo'd with Resolve.
  • Magical%20Footwear.png?width=32 gives you free boots and +10 flat movement speed. This is about the same amount of movement speed as Celerity.png?width=32 but they're also free so they give you a nice discount for your build. The only downside is that you can't choose when you get boots, this comes in at about 8-10 minutes into the game, depending on how many kills you've gotten.
  • Time%20Warp%20Tonic.png?width=32 is an interesting new rune that feels like it was built for 27.png. It gives you 5% movement speed as long as you have a potion or elixir on 2031.png2033.png2138.png. It ALSO works on insanitypotion.png which is amazing. It makes up for the lack of movement speed you won't have early game due to your Magical%20Footwear.png?width=32 rune and makes it so you don't ever really need 3800.png as much, it's more optional now because you'll have plenty of movement speed.

Abilities Back to Top

singedpassive.png - Passive Noxious Slipstream ("Free MS")

  • NEW PASSIVE FINALLY 7.14 our time has come.
  • Grants 20% movement speed for 2 seconds when near any champions (10 second cooldown per champion)
  • Basically increases your sticking power and gap close significantly
  • Feels like a mini 6.png
  • Has the same cooldown as fling.png (NOT A COINCIDENCE)
  • Means you no longer have to rely on 3800.png to catch up to enemies or 3116.png to necessarily stick to your opponents

poisontrail.png  - Q Poison Trail ("Gas")
  • Singed's primary damage ability
  • Get this at level 1, and max it first
  • It is deceptively powerful, has a 80% TOTAL AP scaling. Each poison tick has 40% scaling, and enemies are guaranteed to receive 2 poison ticks minimum upon exposure. The longer they stay exposed, the more poison ticks.
  • It costs 13 mana per second, don't leave it on for too long before level 6 because it really burns through your mana bar.
  • The first tick is applied almost instantly so combine this with a single auto-attack for great harass and last hitting minions.
  • In team fights, this should pretty much always be on. Don't get caught in a team fight with your Q off!
  • It's AOE and DoT so it's very strong with 3116.png3151.png

megaadhesive.png - W Mega Adhesive ("Splooge"/"Goo")

  • This is finally not total dogshit.
  • Now has a grounding effect, meaning you can prevent enemies from using mobility abilities or 4.png to finally lock them down
  • Slow and duration has been nerfed, now to 40% for 3 seconds at all levels.
  • You can get this at level 4 now because it's powerful and mana costs have been adjusted
  • ALWAYS max this last. Leveling it up feels bad because all it gets you is 1 second off its cooldown and a higher mana cost
  • Combo with fling.png to root enemies for 1-2 seconds.

fling.png - E Fling ("Flip")

  • The only time you would ever level this skill at level 1 is if your team is fully committed to invading the enemy jungle for a kill.
  • Your primary fight-starting and peeling ability. Use this after the enemy front line uses their gap closers to get to your ADC, then fling them away from your ADC and so they will be helpless and useless.
  • Can be used to cancel channeling (katarinar.pngshenr.png12.png, etc).
  • Is a form of Hard CC, use it wisely because it has long cooldown (10 seconds).
  • Use this to initiate a trade. Attack-move the ground immediately after flinging an enemy to land a mid-air auto-attack on them. I personally like to hotkey attack-move to my Mouse3 Button (press the mouse wheel).
  • Can be used to flip an enemy over a wall, if positioned properly.
  • Can be combo'd with megaadhesive.png for more hard-CC (1 second snare) which is great for locking down kills.
  • The best way to combo is to use your megaadhesive.png first while chasing your enemy or at the spot behind you when you're fighting them, and then  fling.png them into it.
  • Max this second because every level increases the damage and root duration.

insanitypotion.png - R Insanity Potion ("HAM")

  • Turn this on when a fight starts.
  • Turn this on when your opponent goes HAM on you.
  • Turn this on when you want to go HAM on your opponent.
  • Turn this on if you need to catch someone.
  • Turn this on if you need to run away faster.
  • Extremely powerful, gives you super stats for 25 seconds and has a relatively low cooldown.
  • This Ability has the potential to deal 402.5/690/977.5 (25s x poison/s + 2 x fling) magic damage with just the AP part.

Primary Item Descriptions

1082.png2033.png1001.png2055.png3340.png  - Super Laning Items

  • Open 1082.png2031.png always. Proxy 3 waves, execute, then buy 2033.png. Then 12.png to lane.
  • 1082.png is a better version of 1056.png because it increases effectiveness of potions and allows you to do lots of damage in lane and potentially snowball.
  • 27.png is extremely mana hungry pre-6 but the 100 mana per 1082.png gives you 8 additional seconds of 2033.png at level 1.
  • 2033.png is used to trade, pop it if you poisoned your enemy laner for a good 3-5 seconds.
  • Place your 2055.png in the tri-bush (if red side), or in the little bush river near mid lane (if blue side)

2055.png  - Forever Vision
  • This pays for itself if it remains on the map for 4 minutes.
  • Buy this early and place this in either the Baron brush or tri-brush (only if you're purple side) accordingly.
  • Most junglers walk by the baron brush but don't face check it, so it can stay on the map for upwards of 20 minutes (it's happened to me on multiple occasions).
  • It's great because warding the Baron brush early helps you and your mid laner see jungler ganks in topside jungle sooner. Also, it helps see jungle invades.
  • In mid-late game, buy this and place it if you do not have one on the map.

3111.png - MR Boots of Hating CC

  • Tenacity passive combined with the tenacious mastery gives you about 40% total tenacity which is great for absorbing cc, which is what Singed (but tanks in general) are good at.
  • Get this most games, especially if the enemy team has a lot of CC. If the enemy team is primarily AD with lots of CC, this should be your only MR item you need.
  • With 2138.png you'll have 49% total tenacity.
3047.png - The Preferred Boots to Buy
  • I cannot begin to stress how amazing this item is.
  • At first purchase, it increases your physical damage resistance to about 43% (from about 33%).
  • It's passive (block 10% of basic attacks) is equivalent to ~20 additional armor when you first purchase it, ~34 additional armor at level 18 with your ultimate off, and ~41 additional armor at level 18 with your ultimate on.
  • It's passive is immune to armor penetration, and the block is applied before armor calculation.
  • Unfortunately you can't get this if the enemy team has a lot of CC
  • In mid and late game, the AD carries determine the outcomes of team fights, so having these boots means you survive longer and can do your 27.png thing longer.

3116.png - Singed's Nerfed Item

  • Synergizes well with 3151.png
  • 300 HP helps you live longer, 75 AP helps you kill faster, and the passive procs with every tick of poisontrail.png for 20% slow, or 40% slow if you fling.png them.
  • As long as you have this item and your poisontrail.png is on during a team fight, you are technically peeling. It gives you perma slow on their entire team potentially. It's also good for chasing people down.
  • 95% of the time you'll get this item every time.
  • Since it's nerf, it's really hard to get away with buying this item first like the good ole days, especially now that  3151.png is just better in almost every way. I like to get this item second if I didn't get shit on in lane. However, if I did fall behind or my team really needs a tanky frontline I may push this item off to the 5th or 6th slot.

3060.png - Banner of OP Minions
  • It's a strong item now, get it. Makes cannon minions OP especially with baron buff
  • Gives you movement speed near towers, similar to 3512.png.
  • Helps you close out game and snowball leads, great on 27.png

3800.png - Righteous Initiation
  • Gives a decent 475 HP and 30 armor.
  • The 10% CDR is a nice touch, more fling.png and insanitypotion.png
  • Active is kind of necessary, too much mobility creep and mobile champions in the game and meta now
  • For 2500g it's a good bargain

3151.png - Singed's Most Dangerous Item

  • It helps Singed to insane amounts of damage with poison and synergizes amazingly with 3116.png.
  • Passive offers 400 AP to Singed's Poison on enemies that currently have 3000 HP (120 damage/s or 60 damage/0.5s), 200 AP vs enemies with 1500 HP, 100 AP vs enemies with 750 HP, and basically 0 AP vs enemies with 1HP.
  • This item allows you to 1v1 pretty much any enemy.
  • Has many stats that Singed benefits from: HP, AP, and magic penetration.
  • Imagine you have this item and you are peeling for your ADC in a team fight. The enemy team's front line (tanks or assassins) are trying to catch up to your ADC and this item is simply shredding through their HP while your ADC chunks them down with auto attacks. This item is definitely a worthwhile purchase.
  • See the calculation at the end of the section to determine true value of this item and why it is superior to other AP items on 27.png.
  • Got buffed so it now gives 80 AP total.
  • This item is pretty core, get it within the first couple complete items

3742.png - Never Group Plate

  • Utility is too good to not get, and its raw stats are pretty good
  • Only get if you plan to exclusively splitpush
  • I guess you can also get it for teamfighting if you think you need the extra movement speed

3075.png - Life Steal Parole Armor

  • Great against auto-attacking champions and ADCs.
  • Strong enough to allow you to 1v1 duel the enemy ADC easily at early levels.
  • This item guarantees you will have over 300 armor by late game.
  • Has a shiny new build path from 3076.png which you should get in lane against annoying sustain champions

3083.png - Only I Can Live Forever

  • Since patch 5.16, now heals you 3% max HP per second out-of-combat. This amplifies to 3.24% if you have the Runic Armor mastery, and 4% if you have 3065.png
  • This is an insane amount of regen, and is good against comps with heavy amounts of poke
  • Super buffed after 5.22 is now 100g cheaper (all other items are more expensive and game gold income is higher)
  • 3153.png got nerfed after 5.22 and in general AD champions have less attack speed, which makes the %HP shred weaker and makes this item better.
  • Buy this almost every game, you can also swap this with 3026.png when the passive is down
  • Now (patch 6.9) also gives 10% CDR which is nice

3001.png - Anti-AP Mask

  • Ever have those games where the enemy team has like 3-4 Squishy AP carry champions in various roles? This is the item for those games.
  • Great against low-HP enemy teams that do a lot of magic damage (you'd be surprised how common those are).
  • Gives solid AP and MR stats, but also the passive is like an AOE 20 magic pen on the enemy team that your entire team can utilize.
  • Since the rework from mid-season it's actually considered a tanky item now

3143.png - Randuin's Oh Man, I just can't live without you

  • A 15% attack speed reduction is equivalent to reducing the enemy AD champion's damage output by 15%.
  • The active is great in team fights, use it if your W is on cooldown and you need to catch up with an enemy
  • Always get against teams with more than one ADC.
  • Always get vs teams with lots of crit (157.png23.png)
  • Is the tankiest item in the game, period.
  • Swap this off with 3026.png, or get in its place if enemy team has a lot of AD damage.

3009.png - LEAVE ME ALONE boots

  • This item you should get rarely, it's highly situational (you'd be giving up boots with resistances).
  • You should get this if the enemy team has a lot of perma-slow (22.png113.png3022.png) and you just need to get away from things

  • Get this if you are full build and have nothing else to buy, but still have money to spend.
  • The elixir is amazing on tanks, and with it you can have up to 55% tenacity if you also have the mastery and the boots.

3341.png3364.png - Vision Denial

  • Only get this if the enemy team has a lot of stealth 17.png29.png67.png121.png107.png84.png35.png

Item Alternatives

3194.png - Cuck Teemo Helm

  • Get this against super annoying DoT champions and mages who obnoxiously spam their abilities or damage you over and over (17.png268.png69.png90.png28.png63.png13.png68.png96.png)
  • A MUST-BUY if enemy ADC is 96.png no exceptions, put off buying 3001.png or just don't buy it.
  • Decent stats otherwise, good against lots of AP champions and the 10% CDR is a nice added bonus

3512.png - Zz'Rotting Towers
  • Place the active to attack towers and to defend towers as well
  • The passive makes you move faster near your towers so it's great for split pushing

3190.png - Locket of Deceptive Tankyness
  • Great item that only costs 2200g
  • Great for team fights, can shield your entire team
  • Great for peeling for your carries
  • Great to avoid getting bursted when initiating fights with 3800.png
  • Great for stacking with 6262.png
  • In late game, the shield blocks around 902 damage (+amplified by 6231.png) for 2.5 seconds

3109.png - Vow To Get Carried
  • Another cheap item (2300g) that gives you great bang for your buck
  • Use the active on your ADC to become their partner
  • Effectively gives your ADC 12% lifeteal on THEIR attacks so you heal like crazy (especially with 6231.png)
  • Helps you peel for your ADC by absorbing 12% of the damage they take.
  • Raw stats are decent, the 10% CDR is a nice touch

3193.png - OVER 9000!!!!!!! HP
  • Another great cheap tank item (2500g)
  • Use it for team fighting, it gives 80 armor and 80 MR when there's 3+ enemies around
  • Get it as a last item, however
  • Effectively doubles your HP for 4 seconds allowing you to LIVE FOREVER
  • Use it when you initiate (fling.png) to tank the entire enemy team for a good while

3050.png  - Zeke's Thingymajig
  • I'm not entirely sure what this item does, but it's cheap (2400g), helps peel for your ADC, and helps your ADC kill things
  • Only get as a last item
  • ADC 2k17 means if they do well, you do well

3065.png - Best Tank MR Item

  • The HP and regen you get is pretty solid and great for survival.
  • Is always better to buy over 3102.png don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
  • The passive increases your HP/5 stat. If you are max level 27.png at full build with your ultimate on, the passive gives you 155 hp/5. This is equivalent to +31 HP per second which is a lot. If you survive for 25 seconds (the entirety of your ultimate), then you regain 775 HP throughout the course of the fight which is about 18% of your max HP.
  • Unless you're against a 4-AP team, you don't really need this until your last item.
  • Get this against teams with 4+ AP champions or if you have lots of heals on your team.

3152.png - Saddest Gap Close Ever

  • Pretty sad item for gap closing. If it weren't for the extra magic damage burst, it wouldn't be worth it at all
  • Its stats are pretty mediocre to take up an entire item slot
  • You shouldn't need this when you have 3800.png3512.png6.pnginsanitypotion.png
  • It's a terrible 6th item to buy, so you'd have to replace 3151.png with this, which feels really shitty

3110.png - Frozen In Season 2

  • Great against auto-attacking champions that rely heavily on attack speed.
  • The 20% CDR is pretty nice, puts your undefined.png at an 8-second cooldown instead of a 10-second cooldown, also gives 27.png 100 HP (because of passive).
  • It's passive is really good and can STACK with 3143.png passive, imagine how annoying you'll be to their ADC now!
  • This item is more than 150% gold efficient on 27.png because the mana gives him 100 free HP due to his passive.
  • Synergizes with 3151.png allowing you to double the %HP shred. Great in place of 3116.png against all-AD team comps (sometimes).

Please Don't Get These Items

These are items that you really shouldn't buy as Singed. They're either obsolete, out-classed by other items, or just plain dumb. I can't tell you how many Singed players I see getting these items and ruining their potential.

1056.png - Doran's Not Dark Seal
  • Don't get this anymore, it is objectively worse than 1082.png.
  • Comparing this vs 1082.png: 35 more raw HP, 50g more expensive, no synergy with 2033.png, 100 less raw mana
  • Better on mid laners now, 1056.png1056.png is worse than 1082.png2033.png

3068.png - Actually Garbage Now, Go Figure

  • Don't get this anymore, it was gutted with the mid-season 7 tank "update"
  • Sad amounts of damage
  • Sad!

3030.png - Hextechnically Worst Catalyst Upgrade
  • Raw stats are strictly worse than 3027.png
  • AP Ratio not that good for 27.png
  • Active is strictly worse than 3800.png or 3152.png

3027.png - Rod of Stop Buying This Item

  • This item requires it to be a first buy, but is a worst first-buy than 3116.png3800.png3512.png
  • At the end of the day, this item will give you 100 AP and 600 HP and take up an entire slot, without an active.
  • 3800.png is just as good stats-wise, but with a much much better active
  • The passive healing from the 3010.png portion gives you 3 HP/s from your poisontrail.png, 25 HP from fling.png (every 10 seconds), and 25 HP from megaadhesive.png (every 14 seconds). If you average this out then it's equivalent to 7.53 HP/s assuming you always use your fling.png and megaadhesive.png when it's on, and your poisontrail.png is always on.
  • You get more healing/sustain from having 2033.png or 3512.png so why bother with this item?

3048.png - Silly Embrace

  • Gives about 140-160 AP fully stacked which is less damage than 3151.png on poisontrail.png
  • It doesn't give as much HP as other items and the active is too situational
  • 27.png wants HP and defensive stats more than AP so this isn't worth it

3020.png - Suckerer Boots

  • 27.png does not do high enough magic damage to warrant this item.
  • Sacrifices utility and tankyness for more damage, it's just not worth it.
  • 27.png gets the same amount of magic penetration from 3151.png which is superior in every way.

1054.png - Doran's Barrel Lid

  • Don't get this, the stats aren't that great and it delays more important items.
  • I personally don't like purchasing items that I'm going to sell later, unless it's 2033.png because it pay itself off after a couple recalls.
  • Very mediocre, gives less sustain than 1082.png2033.png

3157.png - Zhonya's Sourglass

  • This item was designed for squishy AP carry champs who do a lot of damage but don't want to get blown up right away.
  • The best part about this item is the active, which you shouldn't be using as 27.png because it means you STOP MOVING for 2.5 WHOLE SECONDS. You should never do this.
  • The 70 AP is mediocre, but that's about all that's nice. The 45 armor isn't very much considering how much he gets from just his ultimate and other items that give more armor.

Kite Lane
  • Primary strategy: Freeze your minion wave right outside your tower range and fling.png into your tower range if he goes in to last hit a minion. Make sure to turn poison on when you do this and auto-attack him while he's under your tower.
  • Do not underestimate him, he has a lot of sustain and can do a lot of damage.
  • This lane is very snowball-y. Whoever gets an early kill will basically become out of control.
  • He's so weak now, lowered difficulty.

here are some examples for lane phase:

Harass Lane
  • This lane is relatively easy, just farm minions and auto-attack + poisontrail.png her whenever she gets near you.
  • If she goes into her invisibility shroud, spread your poison around in it to get her.
  • Once she hits level 6, she will be going HAM on you more often. Stay near your tower so you can immediately fling her into it if she tries this.
  • Stay away from her if she marks you, don't let her follow up or auto attack you.
  • If you shut her down in lane she will never recover she is heavily snowball dependent
  • Is now built full tank so it's not a tough lane since she'll have low kill pressure on you
  • Build 3076.png to help shut down her sustain

Kite Lane

  • Annoying to trade with because of her passive
  • Kite her if she hits you with camilleq.png once, the second one will hurt a lot
  • Dodge the tip of her camillew.png
  • If she uses camiller.png, then use fling.png to get her out of it
  • Don't fight her if you're under 50% HP
  • Her camillee.png makes it almost impossible to outrun her
  • It used to be an easier matchup, but then they buffed her and released Arcane%20Comet.png?width=32 but it's still winnable though.

Harass Lane

  • Cho'Gath is easy, just farm minions and harass him every now and then with poisontrail.png, auto attack, and fling.png.
  • He will try to hit you with rupture.png, but it's fairly easy to avoid.
  • Don't fight him with less than 50% HP after level 6 because his ultimate hurts and does True Damage.
  • Don't get eaten!
  • He gets shut down pretty hard once you've purchased 3151.png

Kite Lane

  • Primary Strategy: Freeze minion wave right outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower range if he tries to go in to last-hit.
  • 122.png is extremely powerful and this lane could be a total disaster if you're not careful
  • Bait him into wasting his dariuscleave.png on minions by walking near him but moving away right before he casts his Q spin.
  • He has no escapes or gap closers, so it's easy to kill him with gank from jungler.
  • If you hit level 6 before him, go all-in on him with everything you have.
  • Once he hits level 6, start playing more defensively.
  • Don't fight him when you have under 50% HP.
  • Additionally, his dariuscleave.png is important to dodge because if he lands it because it heals him now.
  • You can now safely Sky Auto Attack him because it is easier to escape his pull range now.
  • Don't let him get 5 blood stacks on you and you shouldn't die.

Harass Lane
  • Diana is a melee AP champ that is only dangerous in close range.
  • In close range, you out-dps her anyway.
  • Harass her when she tries to last hit minions.
  • Dodge her dianaarc.png, they are pretty predictable.

Dr. Mundo

Farm Lane

  • 36.png will never be able to kill you, his kit isn't good enough for that unless you stick around him too long letting him damage you.
  • He will pop his sadism.png whenever he can at low HP to heal.
  • Dodge his cleavers.
  • Harass him in lane with poisontrail.png, auto-attack, and fling.png.
  • He is guaranteed to rush 3065_32.png at which point you're better off just farming.
  • Buy 3076.png this is an essential lane purchase

Farm Lane

  • 245.png top is still a thing but it's easier this season because he builds full AP now
  • He will have annoying burst and waveclear, but will be much easier to kill
  • If his ekkor.png is up don't bother trying to kill him just farm and harass
  • Dodge his ekkow.png or you may be fucked
  • Most of his harass will come from his ekkoq.png, dodge it!
  • If he ekkoe.png to you then immediately fling.png him

here is an example of a lane phase:

Kite Lane
  • Since her update in patch 5.15 it's a lot harder to kill her now so lane won't be as easy.
  • Her new playstyle involves her going in-and-out for harass you with fioraq.png rather than in in IN ALL THE TIME.
  • She does a lot of true damage now, making it harder to itemize.
  • Her new fioraw.png allows her to counter your fling.png which is EXTREMELY annoying.
  • Deal with her new fiorariposte.png like you do with sivire.png: either bait it out and hold off fling.png until she's used it or use it as soon as she casts another ability.
  • Focus on farming and in team fights just peel her off your carries.
  • Worst case scenario: freeze the minion wave outside of your tower range and fling.png her into tower every chance you get. Be careful of the fiorariposte.png!
  • Good 114.png players are hard to beat in lane, and she outscales you.
  • Getting  3076.png3116.png against her is absolutely essential

Shove Lane

  • Is just annoying, has terrible wave clear.
  • Push the lane and roam. It's hard to catch him but if you do he's dead and very squishy.
  • Once you build 3512.png you can take like every tower
  • You absolutely have to dodge his fizzr.png
  • If he fizzq.png you then you need to fling.png him immediately

Farm Lane

  • This is a fairly easy matchup because it's easy to dodge his galioq.png and galioe.png
  • However, if you get hit with galiow.png expect to take a lot of damage
  • Kite him and build 3151.png first item

Farm Lane
  • He's currently super busted thanks to buffs over time and Kleptomancy.png?width=32he'll just get all his best items early now.
  • Honestly you should just ban him because he will outscale you and he's too safe of a laner
  • Try to take out his gangplanke.png before he can use them
  • gangplankqwrapper.png poke is going to hurt, pick up some early armor
  • Rushing 3116.png helps you stick to him if you ever get a fling.png on him.

here is an example of a lane phase:

Kite Lane

  • 86.png is pretty annoying, he will try to do harass you with his garenq.pnggarene.png don't let him, run as soon as you see him coming toward you
  • If you see him running up to you, fling.png him away with your poisontrail.png on and run away from him.
  • Primary strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower if he goes in to last hit.
  • His garenr.png is pretty strong, so don't fight him while it's up and you're under 50% HP ESPECIALLY if you're the villain
  • 3116.png purchase makes him irrelevant

here are examples of lane phase:

Farm Lane

  • Focus on farming, you outscale him pretty hard
  • Fuck this champion, what a little shit.
  • Once he builds 3022.png or 3071.png he'll be extremely annoying.
  • If you're able to catch him out of position while he's mini, it should be an easy kill
  • If your jungler comes to gank while he's mini, it should be an easy kill.
  • Stay away from him while he's Mega
  • If you're fighting him in Mega form for whatever reason, don't stand near walls.
  • His gnarw.png hurts so stay away from him if you already have two stacks on you (his gnarq.png can apply stacks so dodge it)
  • He's extremely annoying and can get out of control if he begins to snowball from a jungle gank.
  • Definitely get 3076.png in lane and build 3116.png3800.png ASAP into him

Farm Lane

  • It's easy to just farm against him, he can't get that aggressive and his burst isn't that high since he builds full tank
  • Whatever you do, don't get gragasr.png into his tower or you'll die most of the time
  • Dodge his gragase.png he needs to land it to win the trade

Farm Lane

  • Your main focus for this lane is to farm. Don't try to fight him until you have your first item.
  • Sidestep his gravesclustershot.png, the bulk of the damage is on the return trail.
  • You can't out-trade him. Hide in the bushes and come out just to farm.
  • If your insanitypotion.png is up, try going all-in on him with ghost and make sure to run around dodging his skillshots.
  • Get 3800.png second so you can fuck him up
  • Buy 3076.png against him in lane since he has LOTS of sustain

Split-Push Lane

  • Definitely one of the most annoying matchup's you'll ever face.
  • Make sure you have Mirror%20Shell.png?width=32 and Nullifying%20Orb.png?width=32 in your runes.
  • He will spend the entire game splitpushing, and will likely out-push you if he rushes 3060.png3512.png
  • Fuck this champion.
  • Fight cancer with cancer. Keep the lane pressure up with 3512.png

Kite Lane

  • 420.png is like, 58.png levels of bullshit but not as strong
  • Dodge her illaoiq.png the hitbox is actually bigger than it looks, similar problem as 150.png
  • You absolutely should dodge her illaoie.png if for whatever reason she grabs your spirit, you have to fight her to prevent her from cursing you. The curse is so annoying to deal with it, it's best to recall and kill tentacles outside your fountain.
  • If she jumps on you with illaoiw.png, immediately fling.png into sky auto attack.
  • Kite her all day. It's easy to just play passively and farm. Don't give her kills or she will become a problem.
  • 3076.png against her is absolutely essential, she has too much healing

here is an example of a lane phase:

Kite Lane

  • Kite her with your poisontrail.png, she's pretty squishy early on.
  • She is really mana hungry, take advantage of when she is low on mana to go all-in on her.
  • Backup strategy: freeze minion wave right outside your tower range and fling.png her into your tower if she tries to last hit minions.
  • At level 6 you can go all-in on her and kill her.
  • Careful, she has pretty good sustain so fight her when her HP is <= your HP.
  • The only reason this is a medium difficulty strategy is because if she snowballs from a jungle gank she can get a little out of control and power spikes hard when she gets her 3057_32.png
  • Her sustain is super annoying, but she's auto-attack based champion so buy 3076.png in lane
  • Because of her stun, you'll pretty much have to buy 3111.png even though you'd rather buy 3047.png

Jarvan IV

Kite Lane
  • 59.png has 0 sustain. He's also mana hungry. Use this to your advantage to harass and kite him with your poisontrail.png.
  • Don't dive his tower while his jarvanivcataclysm.png is up.
  • Primary strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower if he tries to last hit.
  • He has pretty good burst, juke his jarvanivdemacianstandard.pngjarvanivdragonstrike.png combo and you should greatly reduce his damage output.
  • Save your fling.png for when he jarvanivcataclysm.png. If you fling him out of his own jarvanivcataclysm.png, he won't be able to get free auto attacks off on you.
  • He has high kill potential on you pre-6. Afterwards, he's easy to fight.
  • First item 3512.png because he's really bad at pushing

here are examples of a lane phase:

Kite Lane

  • 27.png is a pretty hard counter to 24.png. It is easy to kite him and at early levels your poisontrail.png does a lot of damage to him.
  • If you slip up and he gets the first kill, or kills you in a gank, he might start becoming a problem.
  • Kite him with your poisontrail.png and fling.png him after he's jaxleapstrike.png to you.
  • Backup Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • Lane could go either way, but most of the time you will win.
  • First two items 3512.png3116.png and you should win easily

here is an example of a lane phase:

All-in Lane

  • He will try to kite you and harass you, that is expected.
  • He has really low movement speed and no escapes, so try to go all-in on him if you both have about the same HP.
  • Go all-in on him when your ultimate is up. Jayce doesn't have an ultimate so it puts you at a pretty big advantage.
  • Use the lane bushes to your advantage, and only come out to kill minions or to attack / harass him.
  • He is pretty mana hungry early so use this to your advantage.
  • Always fight him with over 50% HP.
  • He's a hard matchup now because he no longer builds 3070.png so he power spikes earlier and does more damage in lane
  • 3076.png is really good to help shut him down, and 3047.png works wonders as well. If you have these two items lane gets 10x easier.

All-In Lane

  • You want to be going all in on him as much as possible, he's extremely squishy
  • He does fucktons of damage, don't get hit with his karthuslaywastea1.png for free
  • Matchup becomes much harder if he builds 3116.png, focus on farming if he does
  • Try not to get hit with his karthuswallofpain.png or you'll take a bunch of free damage
  • It's a good idea to have your insanitypotion.png still up after killing him so he can't kill you back with karthusfallenone.png
  • If you're losing the matchup, get 1057.png or rush 3001.png

Farm Lane

  • He was nerfed to hell and is one of the easiest matchups you can imagine
  • Just farm and push, he has terrible waveclear you will take top tower first
  • You can try trading with him, but his nulllance.png is annoying because it gives him a shield and that in combination with his netherblade.png burst makes it hurt so don't let him
  • Once he hits 6, he will probably start roaming
  • Don't worry he isn't as scary as he used to be, focus on getting farmed and big for team fights.
  • First item 3512.png and it's a free lane, he has terrible clear and push

Farm Lane

  • This used to be one of the hardest lane matchup for 27.png.
  • Kayle has a slow judicatorreckoning.png, ranged attack judicatorrighteousfury.png, and lots of burst, also a heal with movement speed buff judicatordivineblessing.png, and invincibility ultimate judicatorintervention.png.
  • Try to farm as much as possible, ask jungler for ganks.
  • 10.png will be at your tower most of the time, see if you can catch her with a fling into your tower.
  • Not as big of a bully as she used to be after multiple nerfs in Season 4.
  • Builds on-hit now so laning isn't as strong as it used to be when she went full AP
  • Get 3076.png against her since most of her damage comes from her auto attacks. It also cuts down on her healing from judicatordivineblessing.png or 3153.png3146.png  if she buys either

Farm Lane

  • 85.png has a LOT of burst and can spam his spells a lot.
  • He will most likely open 1055_32.png to harass you with his auto attack.
  • His kennenlightningrush.png makes it hard to catch him.
  • Once he hits 6, he will try to go all-in on you. Stay near your tower.
  • Ask your jungler for ganks.
  • Surprisingly, 85.png isn't very good at farming at his tower. Push your lane to his tower and farm minions behind his tower, trying your best to avoid engaging him.
  • Harder difficulty because AP items got buffed and he got a buff in 6.9
  • If you're getting shit on, buy 3111.png and 3001.png ASAP against him.
  • Having 3116.png also helps but not if you're super behind

Kite Lane

  • He's a pain in the ass because of his passive
  • Dodge kledq.png or at least be ready to escape its tether if you get hit by it
  • His kledw.png does a lot of damage but you can just kite him if he tries it
  • If he uses klede.png on you, immediately fling.png him
  • He's easy to kill off his mount, but don't let him get back on or you'll lose the trade hard
  • Buy 3076.png against him in lane, and getting 3047.png is really effective too
  • First item rush 3151.png against him is extremely effective because of how his HP bar works

Farm Lane

  • She is extremely kitey and annoying to deal with
  • Almost impossible to get close to for engage
  • Focus on farming, her wave clear is not that good and her skillshot lissandraq.png is very low range
  • Proxy farm behind her tower if you must (worst case), she is not very mobile so you should be able to stay away from her
  • In team fights don't even bother going for her focus on either peeling for your backline or diving the enemy ADC
  • First item 3512.png into 3800.png, no exceptions.

here is an example lane phase:

Kite Lane

  • You can harass him, he's not very good at going all-in and you can out-dps him.
  • He will spam his seismicshard.png on you a lot.
  • 54.png is extremely mana hungry, make him run out of mana and pressure him in lane.
  • If he buys 3065.png, he gets pretty annoying and harder to kill, at which point just focus on farming.
  • Proxy farming behind his tower is 100% safe.
  • If his ufslash.png is up, don't stay below 50% HP while near him, it's deceptively strong.
  • You can first item 3116.png since this is basically a free lane.

Bully Lane

  • Focus on farming, he doesn't have very good lane presence
  • He has severe mana problems early, punish him for it by harassing him
  • If your jungler comes to help gank, it should be a kill
  • You can push harder than him, so you will take tower first.
  • Hard to kill him once he hits 6, so just focus on farming and 12.png bot lane for ganks.
  • If he turns on his maokaidrain3.png, turn off your poisontrail.png and run away from him. He can out-trade you while his maokaidrain3.png is on and you are in its range.
  • Your poisontrail.png does not proc his passive, so use this to your advantage.
  • Once he builds 3065.png don't bother trying to kill him he'll be too tanky

Master Yi

Harass Lane
  • Harass him with fling.png, auto attacks, and poisontrail.png. You out-dps him heavily at close range.
  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • Your fling.png can cancel his meditate.png.
  • Rush 3076.png because he has too much healing and is likely to rush 3153.png anyway

Kite Lane

  • Most of his damage is from his mordekaisermaceofspades.png don't let him get it off on you, kite it!
  • He'll harass you primarily with his mordekaisersyphonofdestruction.png which isn't so bad but it's also low range
  • Focus on farming but he's easy to kill if jungler ganks
  • His mordekaiserchildrenofthegrave.png means you shouldn't fight him with under 50% HP

here is are examples of lane phase:

Bloody Lane
  • Despite what most people may say, 27.png actually counters 75.png, and here's why: 75.png has to focus on EITHER farming his siphoningstrikenew.png, OR trading with 27.png--he can't do both.
  • 27.png can farm minions AND harass 75.png.
  • Poison 75.png and auto-attack him whenever he tries to go in to last hit minions with his siphoningstrikenew.png.
  • fling.png him if he is too close to his tower into your minions, he can't out-sustain you and your minions.
  • He is really mana hungry, once he runs out he's pretty useless and you can bully him out of lane.
  • Don't fight him if he uses his godofdeath.png, let it run out. It got buffed recently so it's extremely strong in 1v1 scenarios.
  • Focus on farming and taking his tower, once his tower is down you can either roam or pressure him further with ganks from jungler.
  • The caveat is that if his jungler camps you, it makes it really hard to harass him and he becomes more difficult to kill the longer he farms his siphoningstrikenew.png or purchases MR items. At this point, just focus on farming. Pressure his lane hard to take his tower early or encourage your jungler to gank for you.
  • Rush 3076.png against him to help shut down his sustain
  • Unfortunately you'll likely have to go 3111.png because his nasusw.png lasts forever

Bully Lane

  • 111_64.png top has been gutted, it's now a very easy matchup
  • Dodge his nautilusanchordrag.png, don't get cc'd under tower or take free nautilussplashzone.png harass
  • First item 3151.png works wonders against him
  • His nautiluspiercinggaze.png will help him mitigate a lot of your poisontrail.png damage but you should still win most trades

Kite Lane

  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • 2.png is mana hungry, make him waste his mana with his olafaxethrowcast.png and harass him when you can.
  • If he pops his olafragnarok.png, pop your insanitypotion.png (it's better).
  • His olafrecklessstrike.png range is higher than your fling.png so don't take free harass
  • First item 3076.png against him works wonders, also 3047.png helps significantly

All-In Lane
  • This lane is super easy because of all his abilities are skill shots so you should literally be running circles around him dodging all his shit.
  • Don't get hit by ornnq.png or he can easily follow up with ornne.png but you can technically top if you have megaadhesive.png
  • If he's at point blank range and starts using his ornnw.png, immediately fling.png him
  • You can 100-0 him if he has his ultimate, he's very slow and can't out-trade you as long as you don't give him free ability hits.
  • If he ever finishes building 3194.png or 3001.png he will get much harder to kill so shove the lanes and turn it into a farm alne.

Kite Lane

  • Pantheon will try to spam pantheon_throw.png at you. Keep yourself alive with 2033.png
  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • If he jumps on you and starts his pantheon_heartseeker.pngfling.png him away and it will cancel it.
  • Go all-in on him when your insanitypotion.png is up.
  • Don't give him an early kill. 80.png relies on early kills to be relevant, deny him this and he will be useless.
  • If he has 14.png then be very careful at levels 2 and 3 he wants cheese kills
  • Let him burn out his mana which is the best time to attack.
  • His pantheon_grandskyfall_jump.png is only good for ganking other lanes or returning to lane, not good for fighting or trading.
  • Buy an early 1029.png and build into either 3076.png or 3047.png or both and you'll pretty much win lane after this point

Kite Lane

  • STAY AWAY FROM WALLS or her poppyheroiccharge.png will fuck you up
  • Don't get hit by her second poppydevastatingblow.png proc
  • She's deceptively tanky thanks to her poppyparagonofdemacia.png don't tower dive her ever
  • She's been nerfed heavily over multiple patches so it's not a hard lane at all anymore

here is an example of a lane phase:

All-in Lane
  • Once in a while you might see a 133_64.png top lane, it's very good in the current meta.
  • She will likely try to harass you with her range. It doesn't hurt that badly, but definitely stay back if her bird puts her passive on you and let it expire.
  • By level 6-8, you can go all-in on her and kill her. She is really squishy and moves super slowly.
  • Ironically, her one escape ability quinne.png requires her to jump towards you then jump back away from you. When she does this, you can catch her with fling.png halfway and cancel the back-flip, then proceed to go all-in on her.
  • Her quinnr.png isn't really used for trading, it's for roaming and returning to lane
  • Buying 3076.png and 3047.png against her ASAP are essential if you want to survive and be a threat, it helps shut her down quite nicely
  • Make sure you get 3800.png as your second major item so you can lock her down

Shove Lane

  • This is a weird lane matchup because he's really tanky so he's hard to kill but he can't really harass you much or stop you from farming
  • His puncturingtaunt.png under his tower can be deadly, don't let him!
  • Run through minions if he tries to hit you withpowerball.png it'll cancel it
  • If he rushes 3065.png then combined with defensiveballcurl.png he'll be basically unkillable
  • If he tries to roam, shove lane as hard as you can
  • He has terrible waveclear and last hitting, use this to your advantage and also rush 3512.png3116.png

here are examples of a lane phase:

Kite Lane

  • This lane isn't as hard anymore, and is pretty winnable. Don't underestimate him. He is deceptively tanky and does quite a bit of damage.
  • Backup Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • If he builds tanky, focus on farming.
  • If he builds glass cannon (1055_32.png1036_32.png1037_32.png) focus on harassing and kiting him.
  • DON'T fight him when his renektonreignofthetyrant.png is up.
  • Away from your tower, stay above 50% HP especially if you know his renektonreignofthetyrant.png is up.
  • Stay away from him if his rage bar is up, don't let him get a free renektoncleave.png on you or it will heal him by a lot
  • ALWAYS buy 3076.png against him ASAP because he heals too much
  • 3047.png is the preferred boots despite his renektonpreexecute.png stun
  • Once you get 3151.png3116.png the matchup gets much easier and you can actually kill him consistently (unless he's full MR)

Kite Lane
  • Stay away from bushes, that is HIS domain.
  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • 107.png relies heavily on early kills to do well, otherwise he is pretty useless.
  • Make sure to dodge his rengare.png it's a skillshot but also free harass because it doesn't cost him anything to use
  • Avoid him if he is at full ferocity, let him blow an ability on minions.
  • Can get super cheesy with a level-2 all in especially if he has 14.png be careful with that.
  • He'll look to roam a lot make sure to shove the lane when he does
  • If he jumps on you, immediately fling.png him

Kite Lane

  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png her into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • She will try to go all-in on you early levels, don't give her the kill! Play defensively!
  • Her full rivenfengshuiengine.png combo does a fuckton of damage.
  • Kite her as much as possible, stay away from her if her abilities are off cooldowns.
  • 92.png relies heavily on early kills, so deny her this and she becomes less of a threat.
  • Ever since the buff to your singedpassive.png and megaadhesive.png this lane has become a lot easier because megaadhesive.png prevents her from casting her riventricleave.png and rivenfeint.png abilities
  • As soon as she turns on her rivenfengshuiengine.png you have to throw megaadhesive.png on her.

here is an example game where I lane against a Rumble:

Farm Lane

  • He is extremely annoying, will spam his spells on you as much as possible.
  • Focus on farming, he can harass you and last hit from range so try to dodge his rumblegrenade.png.
  • Ask your jungler for ganks.
  • Only fight him if he is in low heat (<50%) or if he is in full heat (silenced).
  • Stay back if he is between 50-100% heat.
  • Stay near your tower so he's less likely to all-in on you.
  • If you're getting stomped by him, consider getting 3194.png ASAP

Here are examples of lane phase:

Farm Lane

  • He is pretty mana hungry, but bursty nonetheless.
  • Fight him when his mana is low. This happens a lot early game.
  • His runeprison.png doesn't last that long, don't be discouraged.
  • Focusing on farming is the best strategy. If your jungler comes for a gank, it becomes really easy to kill him.
  • Proxy farming behind is tower is effective because he's not very mobile and if you force him to farm at his tower he will be there draining his mana for the most part.
  • If he leaves lane, shove his tower hard try to destroy his tower first.
  • 13_64.png's overload.png is a skillshot now, dodge it or use minions to block
  • He's much harder to kill now because of his passive shield but still easy to farm against. Focus on farming and stay behind minions to avoid his Q which is now a skill shot.
  • Buying 3194.png against him shuts him down hard

Farm Lane

  • I've only ever played against a single Shaco top and he built AP, which makes the most sense for a solo lane shaco
  • He is super mana hungry, if he wastes all his abilities trying to harass you he will quickly run out of mana and you can out-sustain him.
  • He is incredibly squishy and has no sustain. Force him out of lane by pushing the minion waves hard.
  • AD 35.png has less all-in potential than most other top laners, so if you are up against AD 35.png just kite him because all his damage must be in melee-range.
  • His traps and invisibility makes it difficult to all-in him whenever you want. Ignore him and focus on farming, you outscale him no matter what.
  • If your jungler ganks try to force his deceive.png to cooldown before your jungler shows up so he won't have any escapes
  • Most 35_64.png top wouldn't even run 4.png they are more likely to run 12.png14.png similar to in the jungle, so deceive.png is his only escape.
  • Don't underestimate the 35_64.png burst. Stay back at tower or recall if your HP falls below 40% and you know he has 14.png up.
  • If you don't give up any kills you'll have a very easy time in mid game.

Bully Lane

  • Free lane, you can safely rush 3116.png if you'd like
  • Harass him as much as you can, you out-dps him hard.
  • Don't get shenshadowdash.png under his tower, that would hurt a lot.
  • If he runs 12.png, you can cancel it with fling.png.
  • You can cancel his shenstandunited.png with fling.png as well.
  • You push harder than he does.
  • Don't let him get free shenvorpalstar.png off on you.
  • Once you get 3512.png he can't do anything

Farm Lane

  • This match-up will never occur in Ranked.
  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • Just harass him more than he harasses you.
  • Out-farm him.
  • Nothing much to it.

Farm Lane
  • Dodge his attacks by running around he has really slow animations.
  • Very easy to dodge, break his deathscaressfull.png, or simply fling.png him out of his crypticgaze.png.
  • His most annoying ability is enrage.png just dodge it.
  • If he rushes 3065.png or 3194.png, don't bother trying to kill him

Farm Lane

  • Lane just got a whole lot easier after his rework, no longer a super lane bully
  • There are more skillshots in his abilities now, easier to dodge
  • No longer obnoxious amounts of damage
  • Just farm it out and go for trades when his swainq.png is on cooldown.
  • Dodge his swaine.png so he can't get the most out of trades.
  • Run out of range if he ever uses his swainr.png

Tahm Kench

Shove Lane

  • He has terrible waveclear, so you can push the wave hard and roam
  • You can't really trade with him because his tahmkenchw.png hurts a lot
  • Dodge his tahmkenchq.png the slow is really strong and can lead to a tahmkenchw.png
  • If he goes in on you, kite and if he's on you then megaadhesive.pngfling.png him
  • He'll get pretty tough to kill once he buys 3065.png because tahmkenche.png
  • If you avoid direct confrontation with him it'll feel like an easy lane, and that's easy to do
  • He's easier to beat now because he's been nerfed
  • Buying 3151.png against him is devastating, and 3076.png also helps

Kite Lane
  • Stay away from bushes, he will try hiding there a lot to catch you by surprise
  • Dodge his talonw.png he will be maxing this first and it can hurt a lot especially if you give him his passive
  • He might try to cheese you at levels 2/3 with an all-in with 14.png
  • Once you buy like one armor item, lane becomes a joke
  • He will be rotating mid a lot for ganks make sure to ping MIA

Here are example lane phases:

All-In Lane

  • 17.png is extremely annoying. He's one of the tougher lane opponents.
  • Utilize the lane bushes to hide yourself, he won't dare go in there after you. If he does, wreck his face (you out-dps him in close range).
  • Come out of the bushes to clear a minion wave. Lock fling.png on him and run towards him through the creeps with your poisontrail.png on. If he runs away, U turn after poisoning all the creeps. If he doesn't run away but attacks you instead, fling.png him and all-in on him.
  • All-in on him at level 6 and you will get the kill.
  • Watch where he places his bantamtrap.png and avoid them.
  • He is extremely squishy and easy to kill.
  • As soon as you hit 9 upgrade 3364.png  and use it to cancel any bantamtrap.png he places when you go HAM on him.
  • Once you get your megaadhesive.png shoot it at him when you come out of the bush to make him panic and run away, then use that opportunity to poison the minion wave and farm.
  • Sometimes he builds on-hit (like 3153.png) or hybrid (like 3146.png). If he does, buy 3076.png so he can't sustain off you
  • Worst case scenario (if you're really getting stomped) buy 3194.png

Kite Lane
  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • Harass 48.png as much as you can, he will try to bite you as often as possible, keep sustained and always out-trade him.
  • If he uses his trundlepain.png on you, it get's really difficult to kill him so just stay away
  • Don't give him an early kill, or he can snowball into a problem.
  • It's hard to kill him but it's also hard for you to kill him.
  • He's not as hard to lane against anymore because now you can buy 3076.png to help shut him down

Farm Lane

  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • Don't give him an early kill or he can become a problem.
  • You out-dps him and can kite him.
  • Harass him often with poisontrail.pngfling.png, and auto attacks.
  • If you time it right, you can fling.png him out of his tryndameree.png
  • If you suspect he's about to undyingrage.png, try to lock him down with megaadhesive.pngfling.png
  • 3076.png works wonders and guarantees you win lane, 3047.png is really good too
  • Make sure you pick up 3143.png against him at some point

Farm Lane
  • Rework is no longer as scary or strong as he used to be.
  • Easier to dodge his urgotq.png now.
  • Run away from him if he turns on his urgotw.png
  • Dodge his urgote.png easily, if you can't then hit him back with fling.png

Farm Lane
  • She is extremely annoying and will try to kite and harass you often.
  • Focus on farming, don't feed her kills.
  • If you can catch her with megaadhesive.png or fling.png, go all-in on her, she's pretty squishy.
  • Ask your jungler for a gank. A late-game 67.png can hyper carry her team so don't let that happen!
  • Stay away from walls especially if she has vaynecondemn.png
  • Buying a 3364.png can help fight her when she activates her vayneinquisition.png
  • Essential for you to buy 3076.png3047.png3800.png3116.png against her in that order

Here are example lane phases against 8.png:

Farm Lane
  • He will try to kite and harass you often, don't let him spam his skills on you.
  • Hide in the lane bushes and only come out at the right time.
  • If he follows you into the bush, go all-in on him and you will out-dps him at close range.
  • Come out of the bush to poisontrail.png an entire minion wave and lock fling.png onto him. He will either keep attacking you or run away from you. If he keeps attacking, you will likely get him with fling.png at which point you go all-in on him. If he uses his vladimirsanguinepool.png, then he just wasted 30% of his HP so back off for a bit. If he runs away, just poisontrail.png the minions and create a wall of poison between him and your minions.
  • If he recently used his vladimirtransfusion.png on a minion, it's safe to come out of the brush because he won't be able to use it on you since its cooldown is pretty high.
  • If you get to level 6 before him, go all-in on him and you will get the kill.
  • Use your megaadhesive.png on him and run at him to bait his vladimirsanguinepool.png, or to go all-in.
  • Ask your jungler for ganks, 8.png is really easy to gank when his vladimirsanguinepool.png is down (it has like a 25 second cooldown).
  • Always stay above 50% HP or he can go HAM and burst you down.
  • Never fight him if he has more HP than you.
  • After the 6.9 patch he's been nerfed significantly. His vladimirtidesofblood.png is now more costly and easier to dodge because it needs to be charged up.

Kite Lane
  • You have to rush 3076.png because his passive heals him a lot and he'll likely proc it while trading with you
  • If he tries to volibearq.png flip you, immediately fling.png him
  • Don't let him get free volibearw.png on you, that shit hurts

Bully Lane

  • One of the easiest lane match up for 27.png, who is a hard counter for 62.png.
  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • If he monkeykingnimbus.png to you to attack, fling.png him immediately with your poisontrail.png on.
  • If he uses his monkeykingdecoy.png, run past his decoy with your poisontrail.png and you will poisontrail.png him.
  • If he uses his monkeykingspintowin.pngfling.png him away and use megaadhesive.png so he can't catch you.
  • Harass him often.
  • Go all-in on him when your ult is up..
  • He is really bad at farming under tower, if you are pushed to tower you can consider farming his minion waves behind his tower.
  • If he buys a lifeteal item, make sure to pick up 3076.png
  • Getting 3047.png helps you win lane a lot

Xin Zhao

Kite Lane

  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • He is pretty strong levels 1-5, don't give him an early kill and he won't be a problem.
  • Harass him when you can, and go all-in when you have your ultimate and summoner spells.
  • Watch for the level 2-3 all-ins those are killer
  • One armor item should be enough to shut him down
  • You absolutely must buy 3076.png against him in lane, though 3047.png also helps

Kite Lane

  • Super annoying lane, his kit is just broken.
  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • Don't get yasuorknockupcombow.png by him under his tower.
  • Don't take too much harass from his yasuoqw.png.
  • Don't give him an early kill and he won't be a problem for you later, after level 6.
  • He may be dumb enough to yasuorknockupcombow.png you under your own tower, if he does, you can survive and kill him under tower.
  • If he uses yasuodashwrapper.png on you, try to fling.png him immediately
  • Buy your  3143.png earlier in the game
  • 3076.png early into 3047.png is amazing
  • megaadhesive.png on him means he can't cast his yasuodashwrapper.png or yasuorknockupcombow.png, try to megaadhesive.pngfling.png him under tower since he will always be pushed up

Farm Lane
  • Primary Strategy: freeze minion wave outside your tower range and fling.png him into tower when he goes to last hit.
  • Run away from his ghouls with your poisontrail.png on.
  • He is super mana hungry, go all-in on him when he's low on mana.
  • Focus on farming, he doesn't scale that well.
  • If you catch him, you can probably kill him by going all-in.
  • His yorickravenous.png and yorickdecayed.pngcast does magic damage but the rest is all physical
  • You have to rush 3076.png because it fucks up his sustain but also is great against his minions

Farm Lane

  • 154.png is super annoying and his passive is bullshit.
  • Step on all of his globs and make him run out of HP from spamming spells.
  • Don't get hit by his spells, push the lane hard.
  • Ask your jungler for a gank.
  • He will rush 3065_32.png at which point just stay alive and focus on farming.
  • Try to stay over 50% HP at all times.
  • His zacr.png is pretty strong and is hard to avoid if he hits you with it, run towards your tower with your insanitypotion.png and pop potions if he uses it.
  • Nerfed to hell, really easy to lane against now
  • You can rush 3512.png and he won't be able to kill ever. Get 3116.png second.

Welcome to Singed City Back to Top

I am currently in Season 6 a Diamond V 27.png player who has played 90% or more ranked games as 27.png. I started playing LoL in summer 2012 but didn't start playing Solo Queue Ranked until after the start of Season 3 (winter 2013).

I was first placed in Bronze I, but since then I have slowly (and painfully) grinded my way to Diamond 3 playing primarily 27.png. I went through several champion phases before I decided to make 27.png my main.

I also enjoy playing a number of tanky top lane champions: 57.png111.png78.png223.png2.png14.png

Having played 27.png for so long and literally crawling my way from the depths of Bronze ("elo hell") to Diamond III, and then to where I am today in Plat II ("elo hell"-ish) I feel like I am comfortable enough with him to say I have "mastered" playing him. I still have a ways to go and more divisions to climb, but I have enough experience and know enough of the theory of how to play with him that I thought I would write this guide to help other players struggling to get out of Bronze or simply want to learn a new powerful top lane champion.

Here are some stats I've had while playing Singed in Ranked (I once was 15 ranked wins in a row):

righteous singed.pngSINGEDPENTAGG.png

If you still doubt me, check my "Author Champion Statistics" and compare it to any other Singed player or Singed guide author. You can also check my ranking in relative to all other Singed players in the world.

To learn Singed, I started by reading a guide written by InvertedComposer, a long time Diamond Singed player. I respect him and think his guide is really good, but I feel like it's a bit outdated, and its language seems to be targeted towards players who already knew a lot about the game, like how to play and how the meta works. In this guide, I touch upon many things that I felt were lacking in InvertedComposer's guide and use a more down-to-earth language when talking about certain aspects of the game.

This guide is in no way a rip-off of InvertedComposer's guide. Having played Singed for so long, I've developed some differences in opinion with him on how to play Singed and I also want to build further upon playing Singed. However, you may find a few similarities between my guide and his guide, and I am acknowledging right now that I learned a lot from learning his guide and borrowed a few elements.

I hope this guide will not only make you a better 27.png player, but also a better LoL player in general. Feel free to add me as a friend on the LoL client but be warned, my friend list is quickly getting to its limit so I may have to remove some people to accommodate you. You can also send me an email at if you have any questions, or simply want to practice in a custom game.

Glossary of LoL Terms Back to Top

This guide is for players of all skill levels. I don't want to make any assumptions about how much of the game you already know, so here is a list of common terms or abbreviations used while playing League of Legends that are not strictly obvious.

  1. AA - Auto-Attack aka Basic Attack - What every champion does when you right click an enemy in range. It's the most basic way to deal damage in the game. All auto attacks deal physical damage81.png mains are incapable of doing this for some reason.
  2. AD - Attack Damage - a stat that increases AA damage and certain abilities. AD Champions are champions that primarily build AD or deal mostly physical damage. Everyone's favorite type of champion, for some reason.
  3. AFK - Away from Keyboard - when a player stops playing the game because they left, disconnected, or simply stopped controlling their champion. Probably report. Only ever happens on your team.
  4. AP - Ability Power - a stat that increases strength of spells. AP Champions are champions that primarily build AP or deal mostly magic damage. My personal type of champion.
  5. ARAM - All Random, All Mid - a 5v5 game mode played on the Howling Abyss where there is a single lane, all players go into that lane, and all players have a random champion.
  6. AS - Attack Speed - a stat that determined how fast you attack, usually good for AD Carry builds or builds that rely a lot on on-hit ability procs.
  7. B - Back, or Recall - Get back from where you are, or use the 'b' hotkey to make your champion recall to base.
  8. Bait - To urge enemy champions to follow, attack, or engage on you to lure them into a trap like being outnumbered or ganked by your team. Salty opponents say this in all chat as a justification for why they died.
  9. Big - When a champion is strong from having a lot of money from farming or kills, relative to everybody else.
  10. BF - B. F. Sword - 1038.png. I'm pretty sure this stands for Big Fucking Sword.
  11. Blue [Buff] - The 3-minute buff granted by slaying the Ancient Golem on either side of the map. Exclusively belongs to your mid laner after 2:30. If anyone else takes it your mid laner can justifiably AFK for breaking the rules.
  12. Blue Build - any champion build that relies on 'blue items' that involve on-hit abilities, increase CDR, or increase mana pool / regen on champions. Made popular by builds on 81.png. Sample Blue Build items: 3025.png3042.png3508.png3158.png. Usually the #1 reason why your carry does no damage.
  13. BoTRK - Blade of the Ruined King - 3153.png.
  14. BRT - Be Right There.
  15. Brush - Bush, same thing. Garen's natural habitat.

  19. Carry - To be the primary reason for winning fights, objectives, or the game. Always expected of you in every game.
  20. Camp - Usually when a jungler or allied lane champion heavily favors ganking or staying near another lane to help that lane with fighting. This will happen to you 100% of the time.
  21. CC - Crowd Control - Any ability that impairs or debuffs champions' abilities or basic controls (like movement). What your team always lacks and your opposing team has infinite amounts of.
  22. CDR - Cooldown Reduction - stat reduces cooldowns on abilities, increasing the frequency of when you can use them again.

  25. CS - Creep Score - the number of enemy minions or jungle monsters you have killed (last hit) since the beginning of the game, denoted by the number at the top right of the screen. This number is always higher on the enemy ADC than your own.
  26. Dcap - Rabadon's Deathcap - 3089.png.

  34. Drake - The incorrect term for Dragon used by European players and other people who don't know how to play the game.
  35. Duo Q - Duo queue is when two people queue for ranked together. It's also how people hold champ select hostage and your team's ability to FF.
  36. ELO - The pre-Season 3 way of determining relative skill and rank overall. The higher your elo, the better you are ranked in the game. Divisions correspond to ranks now (Diamond 1 ~2.5k elo, Plat 3 ~ 2k elo, Plat 5 ~ 1.8k elo, Gold 5 ~1.5k elo, Silver 5 ~1.2k elo).
  37. Elo Hell - See Solo Q, below.
  38. Engage - Having both teams commit to a fight usually by initiation. What manly men do.

  50. GA - Guardian Angel - 3026.png
  51. Gank - When a jungler goes to a lane unbeknownst to enemy champion(s) and helps the allied lane champion(s) to win a fight by outnumbering them, usually resulting in a kill. Always happens against you, never happens for you.

  66. MIA - Missing in Action - When an enemy champion is no longer in vision and may be roaming, when enemies are not located warning your allies to be careful of where they may pop out. It usually means you need to stay the fuck back because you're about to get ganked. What your mid laner forgot to say about his opponent.

  71. NL - Needlessly Large Rod - 1058.png.
  72. Objectives - Anything ranging from enemy structures, jungle creeps, or major boss battles (Baron or Dragon) that give the team a direct advantage from a gold bounty to a temporary buff. What your team is allergic to getting.
  73. OMW - On My Way - to where your allies may be or where they want you to be.
  74. OP - Overpowered, something that is unfair or imbalanced about the game and its design. Typically a champion on the enemy team that has a lot of kills. Or the champions that are always picked/banned in every game. The excuse everyone makes when they die or lose.
  75. PD - Phantom Dancer - 3046.png.
  76. Peel - Keeping an allied carry or squishy champion alive by using some sort of CC ability on them or the enemy champions pursuing them. What nobody ever does for their ADC.
  77. Ping - The delay between your computer and Rito's servers. What you complain about and despise all the time if you play on the East Coast.
  78. Poke - Abilities (usually in the form of skill shots) that may be done from long range and damages enemies without fully engaging or necessary retaliation. The least fun aspect of the game since it can be done from entire screens away with little to no counterplay.
  79. Proc - Trigger an effect, like 3057.png3151.png passives that need to meet certain conditions before activating.
  80. Pull - To land a grabbing skillshot like rocketgrab.png. Also means to aggro the Dragon and have him chase you towards the edge of the Dragon pit.
  81. Rambo - When a champion unnecessarily gives away a kill by running into enemies while clearly outnumbered and overwhelmed.
  82. Red [Buff] - The 3-minute buff granted for slaying the Elder Lizard on either side of the map. What exclusively belongs to the ADC after lane phase.
  83. RFC - Rapid Fire Cannon - 3094.png
  84. Rito - Pls.
  85. RoA - Rod of Ages - 3027.png.
  86. Siege - When multiple team members stay outside of an enemy turret range trying to poke down their enemy champions or attack the turret without taking much damage themselves.
  87. Soft CC - Any form of CC that partially disables a champion for some amount of time (slow, silence, root).
  88. Solo Q - When one person queues for ranked 5v5 by themselves. The most anti-fun and frustrating experience that every player needs to suffer through if they want to be recognized by high-ranked teams. Aka the real Elo Hell, where everyone you get matched with is terrible and toxic.
  89. Split Push - To split up the team and push all lanes in an effort to either avoid team fights or re-group later in one lane while applying pressure to the other lanes.
  90. Squishy - The opposite of tanky, a champion with low amounts of HP or defense that is relatively easy to kill.
  91. SR - Summoner's Rift - the primary 5v5 map in League of Legends.
  92. Tank - To soak up or block most hits from abilities or attacks by having a very defensive or healthy build.
  93. Teeto - Satan -  17.png.
  94. TF - Team Fight - To engage in a (usually full) 5v5 fight between the two teams. Could also be Trinity Force, 3078.png, the most slot-efficient damage item in the game.
  95. Tower - another name for a turret.
  96. Toxic - When a player has a negative attitude, verbally abuses other players in chat, or actively uses swear words or racial slurs which hinder the enjoyment of other players in the game. Toxic players should be reported after the game. See Solo Q.
  97. TP - Teleport - Using the 12.png Summoner's Spell or a global teleportation ultimate like destiny.png or shenr.png
  98. TT - Twisted Treeline - the 3v3 map in League of Legends.
  99. Wave Clear - The ability of a champion to quickly kill a wave of minions, usually via AOE abilities by a mage. Your team always lacks this so you lose quickly and the enemy team always has this so you win slowly.
  100. Zone - Preventing an enemy champion from properly positioning by posing as an active threat to them in a particular area.

Summoner's Rift

Become familiar with the geography of Summoner's Rift, the 5v5 map. Note the use of terminology and the particular area of the map it corresponds to.

Rules of Solo Queue Back to Top

I like to have fun with this guide so players and readers don't gouge their eyes out when they notice the size and amount of content of this guide. Here are some useful tips when playing Solo Queue that should help you overall play better. These are in no particular order. Some of these are jokey, but there is still some truth to it.

  1. Never re-queue right away after a game. You want to reduce the chance of getting the same players from the previous game as much as possible. You don't want to have tilted players on your team or players who know what you (or your team) are going to pick ahead of time on the enemy team.
  2. If someone dodged champion select after some picks were shown, cancel queue and re-queue again after a couple minutes. Don't give the enemy team a chance to ban or counter-pick you or your teammates.
  3. 157.png67.png92.png105.png76.png64.png55.png players will either carry the shit out of their team or be 100% useless. There is no middle ground. Hint: the former is always on the enemy team and the latter is always on your team.
  4. If you lose two games in a row, stop playing Solo Queue for the day. You're done. As much as you want to deny it, you ARE tilted.
  5. You are 90% more likely to have AFKers on your team during your promotion series.
  6. If you are on a win streak, keep playing since your emotions and mental state are high.
  7. Play a normals game before playing your first ranked game of the day. This should get you warmed up and less likely to make mistakes.
  8. The more healing the enemy team has (8.png36.png50.png etc), the LESS LIKELY there will be 14.png3165.png3123.png on your team.
  9. Always check sites like or lolnexus during champion select to make sure your team picks champions they are good at. If there are too many champions picked on your side that have low win-rates with those players, you might want to dodge.
  10. The more assassins and hard-carry champions on the enemy team, the LESS LIKELY there will be 3.png, hard-CC, or peel on your team.
  11. If you are forced to fill a role you're not comfortable with, dodge. Unless you KNOW everyone else on your team got their main and have 55+% win rate with them. In this case, pick an easy-to-play champion. Here are some suggestions:
    Top: 86.png122.png
    Jungle: 20.png19.png
    Mid: 1.png99.png
    ADC: 22.png51.png
    Support: 16.png40.png
  12. Your last pick is "mid only" and a "challenger smurf" who refuses to fill, but will feed no matter what.
  13. Your first pick will always instalock their champion regardless of what is said in champ select.
  14. Dying to a jungle gank is okay, don't fret. Dying to solo champions is not okay. Play safer.
  15. If you die 1v1 to someone the first time, you're more likely going to die 1v1 to someone the second time.
  16. If you kill the enemy jungler when they gank you, they are less likely to come back to your lane. If they do, they will be more tilted than before. Keep killing them until they leave you alone.
  17. Invading the enemy jungle and warding their camps greatly reduces the chances of you getting ganked.
  18. 64.png players will always connect their second Q if their first Q hits, no matter what the situation is.
  19. Saying anything other than "gg", "wp", or "gj" is a report-able offense.
  20. Never vote to surrender unless you have AFKers on your team.
  21. Although it may be "bm" to kill someone who dc'd, it's fucking solo queue! They would do the same to you. No mercy.
  22. Giving up kills is typically worse than giving up towers.
  23. If you stream and advertise your stream in champ select or post-chat, people will ghost you on your next game. Don't do it.
  24. Having a duo queue on your team decreases your chances of winning, unless they have extremely good synergy (adc+support, mid+jungle, or top+jungle)

I may add more later. If you have any good or funny ideas, feel free to share them with me.

Forgive Me Father, For I Have Singed Back to Top

Okay, so you may be thinking "what the hell are you thinking playing Singed in Season 5?" Despite the relatively low appearance of Singed in Solo Queue and Ranked play, he is actually a pretty strong pick. Let's do some analysis!

The Current Meta

Singed, in my opinion, is among the best top lane picks for the current meta. Call me crazy, but I will explain it and analyze why in this section.

The strongest team comp right now is as follows:

Tanky Top Lane (57_64.png78.png111_64.png), AD Jungler (104.png203.png), AP Sustained-Damage Mage Hypercarry (112.png13.png268_64.png), AD mid/late game teamfighting carry (15_64.png236.png202.png), and high-CC tanky Support with Disengage (111_64.png12_64.png412_64.png201.png48.png).

The reason for this is Itemization Trapping.

Itemization Trapping

  • This term means to trap your enemy into itemizing (buying/building) certain types of items which will determine the flow of the game.
  • Suppose our enemy top lane is a 58_64.png and we decide to run an AD top laner, say 92_64.png
  • Because Riven is such a strong AD champion, the Renekton will most likely build 3047_32.png3068_32.png3082_32.png in lane phase because these items will allow him to out-trade Riven, farm minions, and essentially win his lane.
  • Because he built these items, any AD jungler on your team that tries to gank top will have a hard time.
  • Now suppose lane phase ends, and teams start grouping for a fight. Our ADC (say, 222_64.png) is in the back line trying to do as much damage as possible and survive being dove by 58_64.png. She's going to have a hard time. Why? Because Renekton itemized for armor. 222_64.png's attacks will merely tickle Renekton.
  • Additionally, suppose the enemy team decides to tower dive and sends in 58_64.png first, so he starts taking tower hits. Their 58_64.png has so much armor that he can survive tanking the tower (because it's PHYSICAL damage) and that helps them win the team fight.
  • Additionally, while 92_64.png may still be able to kill the enemy back line, she will be underfed because of her lack of kills and farm from lane phase.
  • Now suppose instead that against 58_64.png we ran 27_64.png top lane. What is 58_64.png likely to build now? It is more probable that he will build items like 3111_32.png3155_32.png3065_32.png in lane phase. Why would he build these items? Because he wants to not lose lane against 27_64.png and be able to out-trade him in fights. If he doesn't build these items (or some of these items), he may end up losing lane phase and giving 27_64.png the advantage.
  • Since he is building these items, an AD jungler on your team will have an easier time ganking  58_64.png. Most junglers rely on successful ganks during lane phase in order to thrive and do well in mid to late game. If the jungler is an AD (itemizing first for damage) then he should be able to burst down  58_64.png before he has a chance to completely escape.
  • What does this mean for team fights? For one, our ADC (say, 222_64.png)  will have a much easier time picking off and kiting against 58_64.png because he hasn't itemized for armor so her attacks will chunk his health.
  • Additionally, 58_64.png  will take a greater risk tower diving because towers will chunk his health more since he's delayed purchasing armor items.
  • Because we ran an AP Top Laner against 58_64.png , we trapped him into itemizing for MR instead of armor. This puts your team in a logistical advantage.
  • What if the 58_64.png  is smart and decides to build armor items anyway? If this is the case, then the AP top laner (27_64.png) will have an advantage in lane and end up being better at peeling and doing damage in team fights.
  • The same logic applies to AP mid laners and AD mid laners. If we run an AD 238_64.png against an enemy AP 61_64.png then the 61_64.png will likely rush 3191_32.png which will help him lane better and prevent 238_64.png from bullying or 100-0 him.
  • The 61_64.png will also survive ganks by AD junglers more because of this armor itemization (which ALSO gives him AP).
  • Additionally, building an early 3191_32.png means he can survive being hit by an ADC in team fights longer, tank tower hits if necessary, and will lead to an earlier 3157_32.png which is even more armor.
  • Alternatively, if you run an AP mid (like 101_64.png103_64.png7_64.png), then the 61_64.png will more likely rush 1057.png into 3001.png which will make it easier for him to be killed by your AD Jungler, your AD Carry, and towers. Also, it will delay his 3157_32.png which is a pretty annoying item in general, especially because of its active.
Itemization Trapping is extremely powerful and it's one of the reasons why Asian teams are so much better than NA teams, because most ranked players there know about this. In Ranked Solo Queue (or even Ranked 5s) on NA server, if you take advantage of itemization trapping you will see a substantial increase in your win rate. It's a logistical advantage that you should be aware of and take advantage of, because your enemies likely won't. In champ select, always encourage your team to pick an AD assassin jungler and an AP Mid.

Armor Penetration vs. Armor

  • Overall: having two carries on your team that do different types of damage is a better comp. If both carries (Mid and Bot) both do physical damage, then the enemy tank can simply stack armor and shut both of them down with one or two item purchases.
  • Stacking penetration won't save the team in this scenario, because not every champion builds 3071.png3036.png and the ones that do haven't "shut down" or "countered" armor. It's a two-way street, armor shuts down armor penetration as well.
  • Calculations.
     6 stacks of 3071.png3036.png vs a simple 1031_32.png:

These two  3071.png3036.png (total 5800g) will reduce the 40 armor rating of  1031_32.png (800 gold) to 15.4 armor. That looks like a lot, doesn't it? It's not really.
A champion with 80 base armor without 1031_32.png has a raw physical damage reduction of 44.4%.
After fully stacked3071.png3036.png, this becomes 35.9% physical damage reduction.
Buying a 1031_32.png on top of the 80 base armor would put that champion's raw physical damage reduction at 54.5%
After a fully stacked 3071.png3036.png, this becomes 41.7% physical damage reduction, an overall 76.4% reduction in physical damage survivability.

    Let's try 6 stacks of 3071.png3036.png  vs a 3075_32.png3143.png.
The cost comparison is now 5800g vs 5250g, not quite the same but close. The penetration items will reduce the 160 total armor rating of 3075_32.png3143.png to 61.6 armor.
Buying a 3075_32.png3143.png on top of the 80 base armor would put that champion's raw physical damage reduction at 70.6%
After a fully stacked 3071.png3036.png, this becomes 54% physical damage reduction, an overall 76.4% reduction in physical damage survivability.
Additionally, there aren't really more penetration items that can be purchased whereas armor can be stacked further with items like 3068_32.png3110.png. Also, it is important to note that 3143.png gives an additional 500 health and its passive reduces damage output of an auto-attacker by 15%. This means that a 2000 HP champion now has 2500 HP, so the damage that the tanky champion takes is actually further reduced because now each attack does a smaller % of HP in damage. Before, a 200 damage AD attack did 10% of the target's HP. Now, it only does 6.9% of the target's health, a large reduction. If it's an auto-attacking champion against 3143.png, then attacks will only do 5.8% of the target's max HP per attack.
  • In summary, stacking armor and HP always out-scales stacking armor penetration so having two carries on the enemy team relying on primarily dealing physical damage is magnitudes easier to shut down.

Skeptical Teammates

  • Suppose you are in Champ select, and your team mates start hating on you for picking 27_64.png
  • Tell them it's a strong pick and have them look up itemization trapping. I'm not the first person to talk about it or come up with the idea, so they can read up about it on Google.
  • Also show them the overall 27_64.png win rate in solo queue and your high 27_64.png win rate and assure them that they have nothing to worry about.

General Player Tips

These tips should help you be a better player overall, regardless of your role. These are tips that every summoner should follow and should overall improve their gameplay experience and their win rate. I've played enough games and went through a lot of changes to know that a lot of these work.

  1. Be positive.

Nobody likes a toxic player. If an allied champion fucks up, don't start raging at them. Say encouraging things like "aw so close" or "you'll get him next time." You've been in their shoes before, don't pretend like you haven't. Everybody makes mistakes, forgive each other for these mistakes because a single mistake doesn't throw a game. Creating tension between your team and pressure or a negative environment between your team mates does. Sometimes people feel bad after making a mistakes, though they may not care to admit that they did. A little bit of reassurance goes a long way to making players feel better.

  2. Kiss Ass.

On top of being positive, kiss a little ass. Tickle some balls. Make your teammates feel better about themselves. YOU can't control what they do in the game, but you can keep them in a better mood and make them more likely to listen to you if they are in a good mood and like you. Anything good they do (take dragon, kill a tower), give them a simple "good job!" If they do things like make clutch plays resulting in an ace, a double kill, or a nice gank, say something a little more like "wow so pro." People like getting their balls tickled, it makes them feel good about themselves and they may start coming to your defense if you make a mistake or rallying to you if you do something good for the team.

  3. Don't rage.

You're aren't a Challenger player. You aren't the greatest player ever. Sometimes you outplay your opponent. Sometimes players on your team are annoying, toxic, or bad. Don't fuel it! Apologize if something goes wrong with a play or a team fight. Even if you don't mean it, it shows that you don't want to let the pressure or negativity get to you and that you are capable of conceding but keeping a level head when things get heated. Sometimes opponents outplay you and then proceed to shit talking you. Don't engage in shit talking. All the time you spend typing in all-chat is time you don't use getting objectives or pushing minion waves. It's time you don't use paying attention to the mini-map or planning your next move with your team. Ignore people who are bothering you and don't fuel the rage. If they keep talking and are straight up distracting you from the game, simply mute them and report them after the game.

  4. Report Toxic Players.

I'm pretty sure this is part of the summoner's code. People would report you if you try to have fun by trolling or swearing or using racial slurs, so why should they be pardoned? You don't want to get banned because you follow the rules, but you also don't want to play with people who don't. Report them after the game. Sometimes threatening people with a report is enough to make them get their shit together and focus on the game, or straight up improve their performance. I've done this so many times, it works.

  5. Don't get cocky.

Just because you win your lane or got the first two dragons or aced their team once doesn't mean that the game is over and you can start fucking around. I've seen teams come back from worse, and it's all based on whether or not you understand how the game changes between early game, mid game, and late game. If you are ahead, don't start trying out weird strategies you saw on LCS because you might end up throwing. Don't start trying to tower dive them 3v5. Perhaps a single fuck-up is all the other team needs to get their shit together, or vice versa. Champions scale differently at different points in the game, and this can completely change the tide of battle once more items are built.

Top Lane Tips

This section talks about the fundamentals of top lane and what it means to be "top."

  1. You are not a Carry.

As a top laner, doing well in lane or stomping your lane opponent does not guarantee victory for your team. You can help carry or give your team a huge advantage, but most LoL games come down to the performances of either the Mid Carry or bot lane AD Carry champions. If you are ahead, start roaming to other lanes and help get your carries fed. There's no point in you yourself going 4/0 top if your ADC is 50 cs behind and down 3 kills.

  2. Peel or dive. Commit to a strategy.

Your job is not to kill every champion on the enemy team. That would be nice, but don't make that your primary goal in life. Depending on the nature of your champion, you will have to be doing a few things during fights that will depend on what kind of champion you play.

If you are tanky, you should be in the front lines of your team during all fights. Run towards the enemy back line and either absorb hits, spells, and CC while your team cleans up or ZONE the enemy carries. If you have CC abilities, run back towards your carry and use your abilities to PEEL enemy champions off of your carry. Carries are typically ranged, whereas enemy front line champions are typically melee. Use this to your advantage! Help make the enemy front line's job harder to get to your AD Carry and he will be able to clean up quickly.

If you are an assassin type, you should be in the front lines of your team during all fights. Dive the enemy carries (AP carry or AD carry). Simply killing one of them is a huge advantage to your team, even if you don't get out alive. Remember, most fights are won by the carries (primary source of your team's damage) so make sure you focus all of your abilities on them. There's no point in blowing all your cooldowns on their tanky frontline because it doesn't really get your team very far.

  3. Switch up your strategy sometimes.

Sometimes you just have to swap roles with people. If you have a tanky top and your assassin jungler or mid aren't carrying their own weight or aren't doing the job of diving the enemy backline to kill their carries, you may want to swap roles. If you are confident or doing well, you yourself can help dive the enemy backline to try to lock down those kills. You'd be surprised how many tanks can 1v1 an enemy carry.

Sometimes you have to swap lanes in early game. If you are doing really well and winning your lane but your bottom lane isn't doing so well, offer to swap! Your bot lane will have a much easier time laning top against a single (most likely melee) champion who isn't doing so well to begin with. If you are confident in your ability to farm against a duo lane bot, offer to swap so your AD Carry will have an easier time farming and locking down kills. Swapping can also force the enemy jungler to stay top to keep their top lane alive, which is an advantage for your team. The same logic applies to your mid lane. Swap if someone is behind.

  4. You Are On An Island.

Top lane is extremely far away from everything for the first 20 minutes of the game. As a top laner, you likely won't be participating in the first couple Dragon fights unless you run 12.png, which every top laner should be doing now. Use this to split push and regroup with your team when they ned you.

If you are really ahead, roam mid to help push those minions or help get your mid carry a kill. Don't be gone for too long if you think your opponent might be pushing too hard or threatening objectives. If mid is away or buffs are up, invade the enemy jungle and take his creeps.

Regardless, as a top laner you should still be aware of what's going on in the rest of the map. The geographic isolation discourages this, but you should always be ready to leave lane if the team needs it.

Champ Select Back to Top

For Ranked 5v5, the game begins at Champion Select. There is a lot of strategy during Champion Select, and as a player  you need to know them and use them if you want your team to be at an advantage. As a 27.png player, there is a particular strategy you should be following.

NOW WE HAVE 10 BANS YAY!! This is a list of the most ban-worthy champions currently.

In all cases before banning, make sure to check with your teammates to see if there is a particular champion they want to play so you don't ban them. Take advantage of non-banned FotM champions to grab one or two of them on first pick and trade with your allies. These champions are all performing extremely well in solo queue.

Champions Singed Likes

These are champions that 27.png synergizes really well with. You should definitely encourage your team mates to pick these if possible.

Jungle: 20.png427.png154.png
Mid:   69.png61.png
Support: 16.png117.png26.png497.png43.png40.png44.png
ADC: 15.png

What do these champions all have in common? They usually have a movement speed buff, a shield for tanking, heals you, or are really good at chaining CC abilities with fling.png. In the case of 69.png, the two of you have a lot of kit synergy.

Early Game Back to Top

How to Start

  • Early Game corresponds to Lane Phase, and lasts roughly the first 15 minutes of the game. Champions that excel at early game are champions that have really high base damage abilities and can rely on one or two of their abilities to be really effective. Champions strong in early game include 80.png64.png28.png.
  • At the very beginning of this phase, you should buy your starting items (1082.png2031.png3340.png).
  • Talk to your team right away to find out if they want to invade the enemy jungle or not. If your team does decide to invade, level your fling.png first, otherwise start poisontrail.png as you would in most cases.
  • If your team invades and you get in range of an enemy champion (who will likely see your invade and try to run), fling.png them back into your team. They may try to 4.png but that's fine because it'll be worth.
  • Invading jungle paths shown below, for blue and red side invading.
    jungle invade.jpg
  • If your team does not invade, find out which buff your jungler is starting. Most junglers this season start on the bottom side of the jungle for better leash.
  • If your jungler starts in top side, make sure to help them leash.  I typically leash by leaving a single little poisontrail.png cloud in the middle of the camp at 1:39 and auto attacking the large monster a few times. If your jungler has strong level 1 clear like 35.png20.png427.png then you don't really have to leash, unless they really want you to.
  • If you leash, you will get to your lane in time for the first minion wave, maybe missing a minion depending how long the leash was.
  • If you are not leashing, you will have two options to choose from: 1) level 1 proxy, or 2) guard your jungler's buff.
  • If you choose to guard (or your jungler specifically requests it), you should guard blue buff if you are on the blue side and your jungler is starting red. You should guard red buff if you are on the red side and your jungler is starting blue.
  • Red guarding paths and blue guarding paths shown below.
    defend blue.jpgdefend%20red.jpg
  • If you choose to level 1 proxy, immediately follow the proxy paths shown below.
    blue proxy2.jpg
    red proxy2.jpg
  • Most of the time you want to level 1 proxy between the enemy's inner tower and inhibitor tower so you would take the darker paths shown above.
  • The minion wave spawns at 1:30 and the wave moves past their inhibitor tower at 1:38. Remember these times!
  • Remember, the map is symmetric so if you are unsure where the enemy minion wave is currently at, simply look at you minion wave on your side of the map to get a better idea.
  • Sometimes if you know the enemy team warded you may want to take an alternative route shown in lighter colors above.
  • If your enemy team invaded and your lane opponent goes to lane late, it may be too risky to proxy between inner and inhibitor turrets so you may want to opt to proxy between outer and inner turrets.
  • You should be able to proxy 2 waves for level 2 and then execute yourself on the inhibitor or inner turret. Sometimes you can get away with proxying 3 waves. You may have to 12.png to your tower once you respawn depending where the enemy minion wave is.
  • You should have enough to immediately buy 2033.png before returning to lane. You should get to lane in time for the next wave.
  • If you see the enemy top laner coming towards you, try to use your vision advantage to avoid them and stall them from farming minions as long as possible.
  • If you see 2 enemies going toward you to stop your proxy, immediately execute on the inhibitor or inner turret once they get close enough.
  • Executing is faster and safer than recalling most of the time, and the death timer is short enough that it shouldn't matter.
  • Do not proxy if the enemy jungler starts in the top side of the jungle OR if the enemy top jungle is well-defended / warded.

Item Purchase Order

  • In all match-ups, you should rush 2033.png as your first items after your starting items for strong lane presence and all the mana sustain you need.
  • You can hold off on buying 1001.png as long as your movement speed is higher than your lane opponent's. If they buy 1001.png, then it's time for you to buy it too.

Basics of Laning

  • Lane phase focuses heavily on farming and building up your first few items.
  • Farming is arguably more important than getting kills, diving towers, roaming, or 12.png bot for ganks.
  • Most of the time if you can get away with proxy farming, do it because it basically guarantees perfect CS. ONLY PROXY if it's absolutely safe, warded, and your opponent cannot stop you.
  • It's very important that you have map awareness. Check your mini-map as often as you can, either between every last hit or when nothing big is happening with you (no trades, harasses, maybe you are buying, etc).
  • Place wards in anticipation for the enemy jungler. You should always have 3340.png but it has a low duration at low levels and a high cooldown. You should purchase buy a 2055.png if you do not have one on a map every time you recall.
  • The figures below show the optimal warding locations during lane phase. Wards highlighted in red are for red-side warding. Wards outlined in blue are for blue-side warding. Wards that are not outlined or in a purple field of vision are good regardless of side.
    early wards.jpg
  • The orange yellow trinket ward shown above are for situations in which you suspect the enemy jungler may be lane ganking.
  • Lane ganking is one of the hardest forms of ganking to avoid. You should suspect the enemy jungler is lane ganking if he hasn't been seen in a while and you've been pushed to your tower for a while.
  • Note that these warding spots are deep, but cover the perfect choke points that you should be able to see most ganks coming from a mile away. If you spot the enemy jungler in any of these spots, play safely / defensively. I roughly sketched the field of vision provided by each of the ward spots.
  • If you are too scared or you think it's risky to go that deep into the enemy jungle, move the ward line up a bit which means you'll detect incoming ganks a little later.
  • Note that enemy junglers with high mobility or some sort of jump or teleport ability (141.png64.png9.png59.png28.png) may bypass some of these wards.
  • You have to be smart about when to place your wards to make the most use of their timer. Don't place a ward right before leaving lane or recalling. Don't place a ward top if you have vision of the enemy jungler bot. Wait until you are in lane and no one has seen the enemy jungler in a good while.
  • Most ganks occur through the river or tri brush. If you are blue side, you have an advantage because you are less likely to be ganked from the tri brush (unless you are really pushed).
  • Be careful when pushing out away from the turret, and if you're unsure then place a ward in the edge of the brush closest to your turret.
  • Enemy junglers are least likely to be hiding in the middle lane brush because it is less convenient for lane ganks.
  • Pay attention to what buff the enemy jungler starts. If your lane opponent arrives late in lane, that means they likely leashed for the jungler either red or blue. If this is the case, then the jungler will then go to the opposite side of the map to do the other buff and will likely gank mid or bot first. Use this knowledge to your advantage and play more aggressively since you know you won't be seeing ganks from their jungler so soon.
  • However, if your lane opponent did not arrive late to lane, then the enemy jungler started on the opposite side of the map. Expect the jungler to gank either top or mid first, so play safely and more defensively, focus on last hitting and stay near your tower until you verify the enemy jungler's position.
  • If you do get ganked any time during lane, don't just make a straight path directly back to your tower. If the enemy jungler relies on a skill shot to successfully gank or apply their CC on you (like 64.png76.png59.png), focus your eyes on their jungler and try to walk in zigzags and behind your minions to juke their abilities. If you can juke their primary skillshot ability, it will be easy to survive the gank.
  • Some junglers become extremely dangerous once they hit level 6 and obtain their ultimate (like 254.png9.png) so once you know they hit 6, play more defensively and don't push too far out without warding. This is when warding really becomes important.
  • If you take down your enemy's outer tower early and it's still lane phase, use the diagram below for warding when deep pushing the enemy inner turret past their outer turret.
    inner wards.jpg

How to Win Lane

  • Winning lane means to net positive over the following three areas: farm (cs), KDA, and towers killed. If you are about equal to your lane opponent in CS, but have one kill over them and take their tower first, then you won lane. If your opponent has 20 or more cs than you, took your tower, and has one or so less kills than you, then they won lane.
  • The easiest thing for 27.png to do is farm. However, this can become difficult depending on your lane opponent (see Matchups section). Just running through minion waves and an auto-attack here and there is all it takes. You can completely ignore your top lane opponent and their tower if you just sit at yours and spread your poison when the minions come. By the end of the game, you will probably have the highest CS of all your teammates because of how easily you can clear minion waves.
  • Unfortunately, it is difficult for 27.png to actually kill towers. He has a slow attack speed and not very much AD. However, if you focus on killing your lane opponent and farming, then towers will naturally follow.
  • The hardest thing for 27.png among these three tasks is to kill the enemy. If you focus on this and are successful, you will win your lane and snowball your team to victory. Some top lane opponents are easier to fight than others. Check the Champion Matchups section for specific information on each champion.
  • The key to killing most enemies is to out-trading them in lane. Whenever you get the chance, try to poison them, fling them, or auto attack your enemy while avoiding being hit by them and their abilities. This is the toughest part and takes practice. Remember, a single exposure to your poison gives them 3 ticks which is more damage than most auto attacks. Combine your poison with auto attacks and you will pack a punch.
  • Utilize your minion wave. Minions do a lot of damage during lane phase, especially before level 6. If you engage or trade with your top lane opponent with significantly more minions than them, you will win the trade.
  • If your enemy laner hits level 6 before you, STAY BACK especially if they have powerful ultimates with all-in potential (92.png58.png). Wait until you get your level 6 before being a bit more aggressive.
  • Additionally, be careful to not stay too long in the middle of the enemy minions so you don't soak up unnecessary damage.
  • KEEP TRACK OF CHAMPION LEVELS. This is extremely important and so many people make the mistake of not paying attention to this. Champions of higher level naturally do more damage and are harder to kill (more HP and defense). If your enemy hits level 2 before you do, they will try to go all-in on you early game. Avoid engaging until you are equal in level or higher than them. This is even more important at level 6. Avoid being near your lane opponent if they hit 6 before you do.
  • Your fling.png is your best friend. It is an amazing source of CC. Use it to throw your enemies into tower range. Freeze the minion wave right outside of your tower range (use auto-attacks and single poison ticks to last hit) and bait your opponent to go in for a last hit (this works best against melee champions). If they try to go in to last hit, fling them into your tower and start attacking and poisoning them. If they get low enough, go all in with insanitypotion.png. If you are skilled, you can throw down your megaadhesive.png first to root them under tower (this takes practice).
  • You can also use fling.png to throw the enemy top lane into a large cluster of minions, where they will be focused. You can use it to throw them over walls. You can use it to throw them at your jungler. You can use them to throw them away from their own tower if they are trying to play defensively and farm under their tower. There are so many uses for this. Watch my video in the later section to see how to best utilize fling.png.
  • Bait the enemy jungler. Try to get them to camp you. The more time the enemy jungler spends top, the less time they spend elsewhere. Try to become a serious threat top against their top lane champion and pressure their tower to bait their jungler to come top. Try to keep them top as long as possible. Also, if you have to choose between killing the enemy top laner and the enemy jungler, go for the enemy jungler every time if their HP isn't much higher than the enemy laner. Killing the enemy jungler increases map pressure for your entire team because they can't do anything while dead in terms of objectives and ganking.
  • At level 6 and beyond, you should be using R-small.jpg for all your all-ins and fights. Your ultimate is so powerful and at level 6 it is ALMOST equivalent to having additional 1026.png1001.png1031.png1057.png1006.png1004.png. Don't start fights without it! It lasts for 25 seconds and has a relatively low cooldown (it will be up pretty much every time you need it). In most matchups you can use your ultimate twice between a single cooldown of your opponent's ultimate.
  • Once you take the first tower, be more careful with warding. You should be near the end of lane phase at this point. Stay top and keep farming if you are under 100 cs, try to get 135-150 cs before leaving top to go elsewhere.
  • If the minion wave is pushed to the enemy's second tower (inner turret), invade the enemy jungle and take their red or blue. At this point you should be warding at the bush next to the buffs, so take it when it comes up to screw over the enemy jungler.
  • If you are fighting against a tough lane opponent, like someone ranged that can kite you (17.png126.png133.png67.png) then you should be utilizing the top brushes to hide yourself. Those champions won't dare go into the brush while you're in there because you out-trade them in melee range. Come out of the brush to clear an entire minion wave or to go all-in on your opponent.
  • Ideally, you should aim to finish early game / lane phase with the following items in your inventory:
    1082.png3151.png1001.png 3076.png2033.png

When to Leave Lane

  • This is extremely important because there are too many players who will just stay in lane forever. If you are doing well, you need to spread your love to the rest of your team so you can win the game.
  • You should leave lane if you took the first tower and have AT LEAST 120 cs.
  • You should leave lane if you are 4/0 over your lane opponent and mid or bot is having trouble or is tied. Roam mid or bot to help your team lock down some kills. Also if you are this fed, you can easily go help do dragon.
  • You should leave lane if your team is doing poorly. If every lane is losing, it's time to start grouping early and end lane phase as soon as you can. You guys need to start winning fights and making picks to catch up.
  • You should leave lane (but come back after you buy) if all your charges on 2033.png are used up, and the minions are pushed so that there is no risk to your towers.
  • You should leave lane and return after buying if all your charges on 2033.png are used up, or your top lane opponent or their jungler can tower dive to kill you. It's better to let the enemy take your tower than to give them a free kill.
  • You should leave lane if anyone on your team wants to lane swap (more on that later).
  • You should leave your lane if your team wants you to group.
  • You should leave your lane if you see plays being made mid, or the enemy team is grouping mid to push or take towers.

Lane Swapping

  • I really dislike lane swapping, but it's something that you're going to have to do or deal with now and then.
  • Sometimes the enemy bot lane might come top. If this happens, try to get your bot lane to swap with you as soon as they can.
  • Sometimes your bot lane will be so behind and so underfed that you should offer to swap with them so that they have an easier time farming against a solo champion.
  • Sometimes your mid lane will be so behind and underfed that you should offer to swap with them so that they have an easier time farming against a melee champion (they are most likely ranged).
  • Sometimes you will naturally have an easier time laning against the enemy mid champion (238_64.png80_64.png157_64.png92_64.png59_64.png64_64.png) than you will against the enemy top lane champion(68_64.png17_64.png8_64.png85_64.png). In this case, ask if your mid lane will swap with you. If they don't mind swapping, go mid so that you can farm better and possibly shut down some of those snowball-y AD champions that won't be able to 100-0 you because you are much tankier than your squishy mid laner.
  • Laning mid is about the same as top, except you can't utilize the brushes as well, the lane is shorter, and also you are expected to roam bot to gank and help them get them kills. Also, you will be more pressured to have to ward because mid lane has more access points for the enemy jungler to gank you.
  • Here is a sample video where I lane swap mid:

Proxy Farming

  • There are four good times to proxy farm:
  • 1) You are super ahead and even if your top lane opponnt and jungler comes for you, you can still get away from them and possible 1v2 (poison is strong).
  • 2) You are being super denied farm by a pro kiting champ like 13_64.png117_64.png76_64.png69_64.png127_64.png in which case you really need to proxy farm. Build damage early to clear waves faster, and grab a 2043.png or two when you recall). Ward enemy blue / red buff (depending on your side) as well as tri-brush.
  • 3) Your opponent is really bad at wave clearing and is always farming at their tower.
  • Remember, if the enemy jungler comes for you, that means they aren't going mid or bot which is good because those are the lanes that will carry the game.
  • 4) At level 1 so you can get 2 free waves of farm and hit level 2 reliably.
  • Also, if you build early damage you can kite with poison and if needed, turn on them for a kill.
  • If you have the option to kill their jungler in exchange for a death, ALWAYS take that trade because the enemy jungler not being on the map means your own jungler (and team) can pressure lanes and secure objectives like dragon. I know I've said this before but I can't emphasize this enough.
  • Proxy farming is good because it positions Singed such that he has easy access to the enemy buff. You can try to steal their red/blue or help your jungler steal their red/blue.
  • Switch up your positioning a bit. Don't always proxy farm between outer and inner turrets. Sometimes go between inner and inhibitor turrets, they usually don't expect that.

12.png  Ganking
  • Knowing how to 12.png gank during early game is one of the most imporant skills to have with 27_64.png but also top lane in general.
  • If you 12.png gank say, bot lane, you will lose 2 waves of farm, gets kills/assists, get bot outer turret, pop the enemy bot lane's summoner spells, and secure dragon in the BEST CASE SCENARIO. This is why 12.png is preferred by top laners over 14.png.
  • If the WORST CASE SCENARIO: you die, you lose at least 3 waves of farm, and the enemy top laner takes your outer turret.
  • A good time to 12.png gank with 27_64.png is about level 6-7 with your insanitypotion.png on and will be able to melt the enemy bot lane if you catch them.
  • Definitely 12.png gank if your enemy laner uses 12.png bot. Follow them if you think your bot lane is in danger. If they are safe, then stay top and take tower.
  • The diagram below shows the optimal gank spots depending on which side you are on. Try to get your bot lane to ward those spots and go down there when the enemy bot lane is pushed past those points. Alternatively, you can defensively 12.png to the friendly bot outer turret if you suspect a dive is coming or if the enemy team is going to try to 4-man your bot lane.
    tp spots.jpg
  • Always focus the enemy ADC if possible and if they get away then try to settle for the enemy support. If all else fails, get your team to take Dragon or the enemy bot outer turret.
  • You should be confident for 12.png to bottom. Walk back to your lane when you can to preserve the spell off cooldown but use it to 12.png back to your outer turret if you are behind and REALLY need farm or the enemy bot lane is too smart to go out of position.

Mid Game Back to Top

  • Mid Game begins right after lane phase ends, so about 15 minutes in and ends at about 35 minutes. Champions that are strong in mid game are champions that hit their power spike with one or two of their skills maxed and a few items complete. Champions that excel in mid game include 42.png39.png68.png38.png
  • You can usually tell when mid game begins because some outer turrets are destroyed and lanes are starting to group (typically mid).
  • In Mid Game, objectives will be extremely important because of the global gold your team gets but also the map pressure can make enemy teams fumble and crack.
  • Keep track of dragon timers, dragon is a highly important objective and you need to rally your team to do dragon as soon as it's up. Since the Season 6 changes, Dragon gives some pretty powerful permanent buffs to the team that gets it.
  • Always ward Baron. You never know when the enemy team might try to sneak it or go by it to ward it themselves. You want vision control on Baron because more vision in that area means more control which means your team is more likely to take Baron.
  • Warding is critical. Although this task is mainly the duty of the support, since the Season 5 changes the work load for warding is more distributed among the team. If you have any open inventory space when you recall (as 27.png, you usually don't) then buy a 2055.png to always have one on the map.

Here is where you should be warding or encouraging your team to ward in mid game:

    mid game wards.jpg
NOTE: the purple zone should be warded regardless of what team you're on. Ward Blue zone if you are on the blue team being pushed against. Ward red zone if you are on the red team being pushed against. If your team is ahead or pushing against the enemy team, you can push up your ward line to the opposite color zone. If you are blue team and being really pressured, keep purple and orange zone warded. If you are purple team being pressured, keep blue and orange zone warded. If you have a surplus of wards, you can ward other places too, WARDING IS NOT RESTRICTED TO THESE LOCATIONS. These are recommended locations that tend to be highly contested in most games and would be extremely useful for you to have vision on them.
  • Ideally, 5 of the 6 above 3340.png locations should be warded at all times during mid game. Defend these spots.
  • You may have to improvise depending on how the game is going.

Team Fights

  • Most team fights happen in Mid Game and most of these can completely change the flow of the game. If lane phase didn't go too well for your team, don't worry about it too much because mid game play can make a huge difference.
  • 27.png is decent at initiating team fights but NOT great. You want to leave team fight initiations to your jungler (59.png154.png254.png64.png), your mid (134.png45.png163.png136.png), or your support (497.png12.png412.png53.png432.png). Basically any champion that is good at gap closing (diving) and applying some form of AOE or CC such that the rest of your team can easily follow through on.
  • However, as 27.png you can still sort of initiate team fights or help initiate them. The best way to help initiate a fight is to throw your megaadhesive.png around at the enemy team (try to place it between their front line and back line). This should hopefully encourage someone else on your team to harass enemies slowed by your megaadhesive.png or make them go all-in.
  • If you are bold and think you can get a pick on the enemy ADC, go HAM with insanitypotion.png and  3800.png, to try to get a megaadhesive.png+fling.png  on the enemy carry (mid or ADC, whoever is easiest to get but I typically go for their ADC) or just fling.png them back into your team. Sometimes you may have to cast megaadhesive.png to catch them. Make sure your team follows you if you do this.
  • Be careful to avoid being hit by enemy CC as most of them will blow all their CC spells on you (this is fine) to prevent you from getting to their back line.
  • With your insane amounts of movement speed and tenacity, you should be able to eventually catch their carry unless they use 4.png or some sort of escape to get over a wall or to safety.
  • If anyone on your team can give you a shield, heal, or movement speed boost for when you charge the enemy team (61_64.png25_64.png26_64.png117_64.png10_64.png40_64.png15_64.png) then have them do that because it will greatly increase your success rate at initiating.
  • As soon as you fling them back, immediately cast megaadhesive.png  (if it's still up) between them and their team to make it harder for them to escape or for their team to help them.
  • Your poisontrail.png should be on this entire time so it should be doing damage to them but you should also be auto-attacking them.
  • If you need additional slows on the enemy team, use the 3143.png active if you already have the item and it's up.
  • After you initiate this fight, run around to spread your poisontrail.png which should CC everyone on their team with 3116.png making it harder for them to disengage or try to re-position.
  • AVOID DIVING TOWERS when you initiate. The only exception to this rule is if your team has Baron buff, your team is clearly stronger than the enemy team, or if your team has enough burst to guarantee a kill once you've caught their carry.
  • Sometimes, the enemy team will initiate on your team. As soon as they initiate on your team, immediately activate insanitypotion.png.
  • If the enemy front line is diving your back line, immediately start focusing on PEELING. Run back towards your Carry and stick to them. Use fling.png to peel enemy front line champions off of your ADC (try to do this AFTER they used their gap closer on your ADC).
  • Cast megaadhesive.png between the enemy front line and your ADC to make it easier for your Carry to kite and get kills.
  • If both megaadhesive.png  and fling.png are down, rely on poisontrail.png + 3116.png to keep the enemy front line damaged and slowed. If you still need more CC / peel, use the 3143.png active if you already have the item or it's up.
  • Basically, if you stick to your ADC you will survive (and possibly win) the engage. By simply physically being by your ADC during team fights, you can block skill shots from enemies that go toward your carry or even just make it hard for them to get to your ADC because of added threats (poison + auto attacks), zoning, and unit collision.
  • Carries do the most damage in team fights and most team fights are determined by how well the carries do. Therefore, keeping your AP Carry or AD Carry alive as long as you can or ensuring that the enemy AP Carry or AD Carry are killed quickly will greatly increase the chance of victory in team fights for your team.
  • 27.png is great at team fighting, so try to encourage your team to team fight as much as possible. The more team fights you win, the more likely you will win the game.

Split Pushing

  • Unfortunately, 27.png is decent at split pushing but not great because his low AD makes it hard to kill towers quickly without a huge minion wave. You should not be solely focusing on split pushing, leave that to other champs that excel at it (24.png238.png157.png11.png). However, it is advantageous to split push if you have 12.png up and use that to join your team if they need your help.
  • However, 27.png is really good at clearing minion waves. Whenever your side lanes are pushed during mid game, use the opportunity to quickly go to one of the side lanes (typically top) and push 2-3 minion waves.
  • This is a fast process, all you have to do is walk through 3 minion waves with your poisontrail.png on. You don't even have to stop, just run straight through them and they will die on their own.
  • If you do take a break to split push, quickly re-join with your team and have them pressure mid while the enemy gets pressured from the side lanes.
  • If your team is not very good at team fighting but good at split pushing, don't initiate team fights and instead stick with your team and help them kill minion waves, poke down towers, and disengage from team fights as necessary.
  • If the enemy team is really good at split-pushing or has a champion with a global ultimate (4.png80.png56.png98.png) then the best way to shut them down is to group your team as 5, go to the lane being split push, quickly kill that annoying champion, then shove that lane.
  • If you are split pushing and encounter the enemy ADC, FIGHT THEM! 27.png can 1v1 any enemy ADC assuming they aren't incredibly fed.

How to Take Objectives

  • I can't stress this enough how important objective control is. In mid game, always prioritize taking towers over taking red/blue buffs and taking dragon/baron.
  • If you ace the enemy team, don't recall. Take a tower or two if you have a large and pushed enough minion waves.
  • If you don't have enough minions or waves that are pushed, take dragon or baron instead.
  • If your team has to choose between taking dragon, baron, or an inhibitor--always take the inhibitor.
  • After taking an inhibitor in a lane, stop pushing that lane unless you have the minions to to certainly take nexus towers or the nexus. Rotate to push another lane instead.
  • If you have baron buff, you must absolutely focus on taking towers because the buff doesn't last very long. Don't waste time with red/blue buff and don't tower dive unless you have a clear numbers advantage or your team poked the enemies down to half HP.

How to Baron

  • This is probably the most important section because so many games are determined by who gets Baron. I can't tell you how many come backs or throws I've seen because of teams taking Baron.
  • Baron is more useful alive than dead. Use your map control to bait fights at baron. Wait in one of the bushes outside of Baron for the enemy team to show up if you know they don't have vision of Baron.
  • In all of the following cases for doing Baron, first try to bait the enemy team to see if you can catch them in an ambush. Most of the time baiting it is more important than actually doing it.
  • You should do Baron if you just aced the enemy team and there are no immediate objectives to take (like any easy base structures).
  • You should do Baron if the enemy Jungler and ADC are either dead OR pushing bot lane and you can rally your team quickly enough. Your ADC and Jungler MUST participate.
  • You should do Baron if the enemy team has no vision of Baron and you do. Try to bait first. If they don't take the bait, just do Baron.
  • Have your team use 3364.png2055.png to clear enemy wards from that area.
  • You should do Baron if more people on your team is alive than their team, you have a 11.png advantage (your jungler is NOT dead while their jungler is alive), AND there are no inhibitors to be taken before the enemy team revives.
  • You should do baron if your team has super minions in the enemy base.
  • If your team is behind and the enemy team is doing Baron, encourage your jungler to try to 11.png steal it. In this case, you have little to lose and so much to win if you're successful.
  • You should do Baron if someone on your team is capable of early or quick Baron cheese (20.png31.png11.png).
  • When you do baron, you should be tanking it as 27.png and make sure you keep it constantly poisoned, auto-attacked, and use fling.png on it whenever it's up.
  • If the enemy team is nearby or is going to try to steal Baron, hide in one of the neighboring bushes and try to keep them away using megaadhesive.pngfling.png and being as annoying as possible. It is more important that you zone the enemy team if they are nearby than tanking baron.
  • If the enemy team is fully committed to trying to stop your team from Baron, turn on the enemy team if they are low or have less numbers than you, or disengage away from Baron pit.

Late Game Back to Top

  • Late Game starts at about 35-40 minutes and goes until the end of the game. This is typically the point at which most champions in the game are level 18 and builds are mostly complete or complete. Champions that excel in late game include: 96.png69.png268.png67.png.
  • Team fight rules don't really change, except now there are fewer team fights and an ace or victorious team fight can lead directly to a victory by pushing the Nexus.
  • Split pushing is less effective in late game because one wrong move can lead to the enemy winning the game (respawn timers are much longer, and enemies are more likely to be grouping).
  • Baron rules don't really change, except that the buff becomes more useful in team fights (especially if everyone is already full build).
  • Your team should absolutely stay grouped at all times if possible.
  • 27.png is very strong in late game, but strongest mid game

Singedful Decadence Back to Top

This section contains some useful trivia and tricks you can do with 27_64.png that aren't immediately obvious.

Singed Tips

  • Know your role in the game. You are a tank and/or "AP offtank/bruiser". ALL your items better have a defensive component of some kind (armor, HP, or MR). At LEAST 3 items of your should be strictly tank items.
  • Because 27_64.png isn't played that often, many enemies won't know how to lane against him or will underestimate how much damage he actually does.
  • Never fully commit to playing Proxy Singed, it's a sub-optimal strategy to commit to.
  • Most players will assume you are a troll, which you can use to your advantage.
  • Bind your laugh to an easy button on your keyboard like 'T' and spam it when you are running around to really aggravate and possibly bait your opponents.
  • It's not easy to carry with, you'd have to be extremely fed from lane or really farmed.
  • 27_64.png requires a competent team that knows how to work together to do well. Don't just expect to run in to any fight with your poison on and expect things to work out. You really have to time your abilities.
  • Mana is not cheap early game, so be conservative with it. Don't leave your poisontrail.png on all the time.
  • Your megaadhesive.png and fling.png abilities have long cooldowns, use them intelligently because they bring a lot of CC to fights that can really decide the flow of battle.
  • You are deceptively stronger while fighting with your insanitypotion.png active, try to do as much in these 25 seconds as you can. Even if you don't get a kill, force your enemy to recall or farm passively under tower. Make them afraid of you.
  • As a beginner, play using the Snow Day skin because the particles are easier to see (white poison on green background, outline on W area) and will help you get use to the range of his abilities. playbutton.png

  • Don't over commit. This is the biggest mistake I see with 27_64.png players. You may be fast and tanky, but you're not God. Many champions you face will have sources of CC or escapes or gap closers that will make it so that you just can't catch up with them. It's okay. Maybe you popped their summoner spell, or one of the abilities they would have otherwise used on your carry. Don't fret, you'll get them next time! Don't give away a free kill or go Rambo into their team if it's too risky.

I got some of this following tips and trivia from another 27_64.png guide made by Church of Tiamat.

  •  27_64.png has 345 base Movespeed, which means you are naturally faster than every ranged champion.
  • 27_64.png's offensive skills have the lowest cast range of any champion. poisontrail.png range is 20 and fling.pngis 125.
  • E-small.jpg costs 100 Mana at level 1, the highest mana cost for a non-ultimate skill at rank 1. fling.png ties with 42_64.png's Valkyrie, 30_64.png's Wall of Pain, 432_64.png's Caretaker's Shrine and old 14_64.png's Cryptic Gaze in this regard.
  • 27_64.png's Q-small.jpg gets hidden visually if the enemy can't see him. Just like how 80_64.png20_64.png and 14_64.png can channel their spells in bush while the enemy can't see the animation, but can see the debuff/damage on them.
  • 3102_32.png only blocks your fling.png
  • Your fling.png is a knock up. Help your 157_64.png.
  • poisontrail.png clouds last for 3.25 seconds, the tick refreshes each second, which makes the enemy poisoned and take damage for 6 seconds, which means a total of 132/ 204/ 276/ 248/ 420 (hue 57_64.png) plus 180% of your AP, at the cost of 13 mana only, given that the enemy stays in a Poison Cloud until it fades away.
  • 3110_32.png aura and 3143.png passive procs double damage from 3151_32.png. It also gives you the 2% damage reduction from the Oppression mastery.
  • fling.png can throw people over walls. Save people (and yourself!) from 59_64.png ults.
  • 3116_32.png slow only lasts for 1.5 seconds while 3151_32.png debuff lasts for 3 seconds, champions which can continuously deal damage buy 3116_32.png and 3151_32.png for permaslows with tons of damage. It also gives 700 HP and 150 AP, which is very nice.
  • 27_64.png's poisontrail.png can give  69_64.png resets on her Twin Fang.
  • If you didn't build any mana on poisontrail.png, at level 18 he can keep poisontrail.png on continuously for 107 seconds. With his R-small.jpg on he can leave his poisontrail.png  on and net gain mana over 25 seconds.
  • Surfer 27_64.png skin will make you take 1 less damage from 89_64.png's passive.
  • 16_64.png ult removes any Poison debuff.
  • The buffs after you increase the R-small.jpg rank are not dynamic. If you are going to level to 11 or 16 right before an important teamfight, activate your R-small.jpg after you reach that level.
  • If you level up your poisontrail.png while it's on, you need to toggle it off and back on to get the updated amount of damage.
  • In URF Mode, 27_64.png always has his ult up (which was something only shared with the old 14_64.png), but remember to wait for the ult buffs to expire after you rank it, or you won't have the increased stats.
  • You can fling.png people while they are taking 432_64.png's Magical Journey. You literally pull people away while they are inside a wall.
  • Your fling.png can cancel enemy channeled abilities including but not limited to: 12.png236_64.png ultimate, 101_64.png ultimate, etc.
  • No matter how fast you try/script, you can't cast megaadhesive.png to snare the fling.png enemy while they are midair.

I made a YouTube video to show some of the tricks you can do.  Most of these tricks are inspired by InvertedComposer's 27_64.png guide. NOTE: this video is over a year old (I will work on an updated one) so it displays some old item I used to build in previous seasons.

Hard Carries

Invisible Poison

InvertedComposer's 27_64.png guide talks about making your poison invisible by using the fact that the poison cloud grows in size as a function of time. Therefore, you can technically spawn a single poison cloud object that is infinitely small size if you toggle your poison on and off at almost lightning speed. Since this is difficult for humans, you can do this using key bindings that InvertedComposer describes in this guide as follows:

First, go to your League of Legends Folder > Config > and then open the 'input' file

And then change the following:

  • Procedure: Go to your Riot Games folder > League of Legends > Config > input. Open up the text file 'input' and edit the following:
evtSmartPlusSelfCastSpell1=[t] and evtSelfCastSpell1=[t] . In game, press t to release a puff of invisible poison.
  • Usage: Very useful during early game for harassing especially because your poison is invisible. Notice how "Invisible Poison" doesn't expend and has smaller radius than a visible poison. Your target has to literally "step on" it rather than just "touching" it.
  • Tips: If you barely see the Poison buff on your buff screen and your ability goes on cooldown, then you've done it right. You should absolutely see no poison in the game.
  • Difficulty: 10% (VERY EASY NOW RIGHT?)

Personally, I bound mine to "g" since my "t" is bound to my laugh. Note that the above file you may not necessarily see that highlighted line, so you would have to add in those lines yourself. Use invisible poison in lane phase to harass your lane opponent. After lane phase, you won't need it as much but it is still fun to clear an entire minion wave with invisible poison. After all, "the unseen poison is deadliest" :^).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Back to Top

  1. Q: Why don't you build any mana? you can only fling like twice with his default mana pool.
A: The key is mana management. If you can manage mana properly, you don't need to spend your gold on mana items like tear or RoA and can put that gold to better use.

I use to rush tear in lane, and switched to double doran ring (almost the same price) because it let me trade better. Also, don't always keep poison on. Think about it this way, a single poison "puff" costs 13 mana, and can theoretically poison an entire minion wave for three ticks of damage (also applies to champions).

Doran Rings + Feast mastery make it so that when I poison / kill an entire creep wave, I get almost all the mana I spend refunded back.

For fling, I only use it when necessary (it has a 10 second cooldown but is super important to have up in important times).

    Examples include:
-Flinging enemy champion away when they try to engage
-Flinging enemy top laner or jungler away during gank
-Flinging enemy top laner into my tower
-Flinging enemy top laner into my jungler during gank
-Peeling enemy front line off my ADC
-Throwing enemy ADC into my team

If you think about it, you only need like 1-2 flings every fight to be effective.

I always open Crystalline Flask and after making the switch from Tear to double doran ring I found that I never have mana problems.

I think the better question you should ask is, "do I need to fling more than twice to be effective in a fight or to get a kill?"

  2. Q: Seriously though, don't you waste Singed's passive by not building any mana items?

A: Again, no. At level 18 I still get 256 free HP from my passive with no mana items. If I happen to build a FH, that's another 100 HP. But again, it's a nice little bonus but not something tyou should revolve your build around.

Go to the "Build and Stats Calculation" section and download the spreadsheet (linked in the first paragraph). You can try playing around with the build and you'll be able to see that mana items like RoA and Archangels aren't slot efficient, despite being gold efficient. Slot efficiency means there's a better item you could be filling your inventory slot with. Better items are any of the items I recommend in my build. They typically give more tankyness or more damage.

  3. Q: What do I do if the enemy top laner rushes 3065_32.png?

A: Focus more on farming, but you can still use your poison and auto-attacks to harass them, but don't go all-in on them until they are much lower than you, or an opportunity presents itself (like your jungler came up for a gank or you can e-small.png them into your tower range. Remember, if they rushed 3065_32.png then they haven't built 3068_32.png3082_32.png, or any other armor item that will be useful to them to tank hits from your towers or ADC. Itemization trapping ftw!

  4. Q: What do I do if the enemy I am fighting has 3102_32.png?

A: Most champs don't build this until mid or late game. If their spell shield is up, save your e-small.png for when some other spell pops it. If no one else is around to pop the spell shield, then use e-small.png to pop it yourself. The 3102_32.png spell shield does not stop your w-small.png or  q-small.png.

  5. Q: What would counter or shut down 27_64.png

A: Enemies that have lots of slows or peels, or can kite very well. Example champions include: 13_64.png117_64.png10_64.png85_64.png69_64.png68_64.png

  6. Q: Do you duo queue?

A: Sure, add me as a friend if you want to duo queue. As of right now, I only duo queue with people in Plat 5 or higher, but I may make exceptions to some Gold 1 players. My friends list is almost full, so if you can't add me then shoot me an email at

  7. Q: Can you give personal lessons?

A: Sure. I am trying to promote this guide since it's new, but if you want we could play some custom games if you want to practice laning or whatever.

  8. Q: How do you play 27_64.png in ARAM?

A: Similarly to Summoner's Rift, but I often don't even get 1056_32.png1056_32.png. You should open 1001_32.png1026_32.png or 1001_32.png1011_32.png and build directly into 3116_32.png first chance you get.

  9. Q: How do you play 27_64.png in Twisted Treeline (TT)?

A: Similar items as in Summoner's Rift. 27_64.png is an extremely powerful bot laner in TT and great in team fights. He is usually banned or in high demand. I may one day alter this guide or make a separate guide to include Twisted Treeline play.

  10. Q: What if the enemy team is winning all lanes in early game?

A: Try to end lane phase early and focus down their carries.

  11. Q: Do you stream?

A: Yes. I recently started so you can check it out at

  12. Q: What other top lane champions do you recommend I learn?

A: If you like to have a diverse champion pool, I highly recommend learning 57_64.png12_64.png13_64.png36_64.png in that order. What do they all have in common? They are AP, relatively tanky, and bring a good amount of damage and utility to team fights.
  13. Q: Do you feel that Teemo is as hard a counter as everyone claims he is? From my experience, I generally can win the lane unless the guy is like a Challenger smurf Teemo main who can kite me into oblivion.
A: He really isn't a hard counter. Picking Teemo fucks over your entire team, even if it is to 'counter' the opponent's pick. You just shouldn't pick teemo.

There are a few things I usually do against teemos:
-If he pushes hard, have jungler come for ganks he is one of the easiest champs to gank he is insanely squishy
-If he pushes hard and jungler does not want to come for gank, you can catch him by surprise with ult + ghost + fling and throw him into your tower. At this point, he will take a tower hit, or two, and while he is trying to run from tower you are poisoning + auto attacking him with your ult on. Basically you out-trade him at melee range.
-If he is playing safely, hide in the lane brushes, wait for one of your minions to get low (because it's the one he will want to last hit), come out of the bush throwing a W at him. He will either stay to kill the minion, in which case you catch up to him and fling him, he will stay to attack you, in which case you will catch up to him and fling him, or he will run away from you, in which case you just poison the entire minion wave and go back into the bushes.
-If all else fails or if he is playing super passively, just proxy farm between his outer and inner turrets.

You completely outscale Teemo so even if you get behind by like 20 cs you will be more useful in mid and late game than him.

  14. Q: You said champion X was an "easy" or "medium" difficulty match-up but why am I having so much trouble?

A: You need to practice. Simply reading a guide once won't make you a pro. This guide should give you tips on how to deal with certain situations. Champions like 58_64.png92_64.png, or 8_64.png are really strong laners, but if you get the hang of playing against them then you will realize they aren't all that bad. If you want, I can personally justify why I assigned certain difficult levels to champions if you need clarification.

  15. Q: What if I disagree with something in your guide or have a suggestion on a way to improve it?

A: Feel free to tell me what you disagree with and why. I am not all-knowing and the best player ever, so it's possible I either missed some things or wasn't entirely accurate about something. Use the comments section on here or send me an email and I will try to address it. I am always open to suggestions, feedback, and ways to improve myself and my guide. Also please point out any typos you see! Suggestions on improving the organization or structure of the guide are also welcome!

  16. Q: Why is this guide so damn long?

A: I like to be thorough and verbose. I like to relay as much information as I can so that it can be helpful. I feel that the problem with most other guides is that they don't teach you the basics of PLAYING THE GAME. They also aren't very good at telling you the best way or role for your champion or when to use them or their abilities.

  17. Q: I win lane and get really fed but why am I still losing??

A: This is the most common complaint I see. Not all games are winnable, and winning your lane and getting fed isn't enough to win the game. You have to use every advantage you personally have and share it with your team. Start roaming. Get your team fed. Rally your team for objectives. It's objectives that win the game, after all. Don't be pessimistic or down about it. If you are losing too many games or are getting angry, stop playing for a while and go take a rest. You play better with a level head. You can't force your team to do well, but you can encourage them and pave the way to victory. I know how frustrating games like those can be, but you just have to move on and learn ways in which YOU could have applied yourself better or helped your team
