Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png - Why take Flash?

  • I sometimes use Flash because it makes you less predictable. This opens up a lot more windows of opportunity to surprise and outplay your opponents. Examples would include endless situations where you can flash flip or flash goo flip; sometimes over walls, which results in securing kills, initiating, and/or peeling for your carries. If you aren't comfortable running Flash on Singed, Ghost is always a good option.

12.png - Remember when this spell wasn't Meta?

  • This spell allows you to pull off a level 1 proxy (if the enemy allows you to), since you're able to tp back to lane after your ideal 2-3 wave execute. It reduces the enemy top laner's snowball effect if things don't go as planned early on. Finally there is the obvious reasons of map pressure, split pushing, proxying, tp ganks as well as tp escapes if necessary.

14.png - Early Lane Cheese Tactic

  • This spell allows you to cheese early kills during the laning phase. You do a surprising amount of early damage with ignite + deathfire touch. I recommend this vs difficult brawl matchups such as Fiora and Riven, or if you just prefer to focus on winning your lane in general.

4.png6.png - Twisted Treeline

  • Teleport is not needed on Twisted Treeline since the map is very small compared to Summoners Rift. There are no wards on the map either, so Teleport flank possibilities are greatly reduced. Early damage threats are super important on Twisted Treeline; as long as the enemy team has 1 ranged champion (usually the bot laner and/or top laner), taking Flash/Ghost replaces the need to rush Righteous Glory like on Summoners Rift. This allows you to get your core items faster (see below) and be more of a damage threat.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

The new Stoneborn Pact Mastery helps you gain a fair amount of extra hp, since the core items for Singed (even the ap route) give him a lot of health. Your constant movement impairment spells/items allow you to grant your allies lots of healing on auto attacks. [Mega Adhesive, Fling, Righteous Glory (if purchased), Rylais (if purchased) etc]

Maxing Q should be self-explanatory, as it is your primary damage source.

I max E second due to each rank reducing the cdr, increasing the % fling damage, and increasing the goo flip root duration. (goo flip = flinging someone onto your W, which roots them)

I max W last, but I take 1 point at level 4, to be able to perform goo flips in certain situations to help me survive, or secure a kill.

I max R when I'm able to.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Open with Corrupting into 1-3 Dark Seals
    Ideal starting items
VS a tough ranged ad matchup such as Quinn or Vayne

Core Items

Tank Oriented split push route (Ruby Sightstone Optional)
    Damage Orientated teamfight route
My preferred armor item on singed, I usually get this after finishing one of the two cores
    Twisted Treeline Core

Situational Items

    Full Mixed Build Example
    AP Build Example
    Full Tank Support Build Example
    Twisted Treeline Full Build Example

If you're going the Ruby Sightstone build, you'll have it completed earlier into the game. Sell Ruby Sightstone at this point for one of the other item options listed above. Only get Knight's vow if none of your teammates have it.

If constant split-pushing isn't your play style, replace Zz'rot with GA, or just choose a different core build option.

The Twisted Treeline full build example is the ideal snowballing build. However, there will be different item requirements based on the situation. Always look to rush the core items + liandry's, but replace abyssal and/or wooglets witchcap accordingly:

3075.png3143.png - purchase one or both of these if the enemy team has a heavy AD team and you need to be more tanky.

3065.png - purchase this if the enemy has a heavy AP team and you need to be more tanky.

3165.png - purchase this if the enemy team has high sustain/lifesteal damage.

VS

Akali

Medium

This comes down to the Akali player, as this match-up could snowball either way.

You have the slight advantage combat wise, but she decides the outplay potential.
Look to bully early since your dark seals make you stronger, unless she snowballs first.

VS

Camille

Medium

Look to bait out her W, then go in for extended trades, or even all-in. Stay away from walls if possible. Cancel her ult by running to the edge and flip her out of it.

VS

Cassiopeia

Hard

She will harass and zone you early. Win condition is when she is pushed up and/or has low mana. Flip/goo flip her under tower if she lets you, using flash if necessary.

VS

Cho'Gath

Easy

Avoiding his knock-up means he has nothing to stop you. Try to all-in him as much as possible post level 2-3. Take advantage of his weak lane phase before he out-scales 1v1.

VS

Darius

Medium

Look to stack hp early, as it is a lot more effective than armor vs Darius in the lane phase. Bait out his Q and either run away or stand on top of him to avoid him receiving the heal/extra damage effect. Retreat if you have 3 or 4 bleed stacks on you, unless you are extremely close to killing him.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Easy

An easy proxy match-up. Avoid his cleavers and run away when his ult is active.

VS

Ekko

Medium

This is similar to the Akali match-up in the sense it's up to the Ekko on what he builds or how he plays. Look to take advantage of your early combat power. Avoid his W (passive and active) if possible, and attempt to fling lock his E if he tries to escape.

VS

Fiora

Hard

Wait to brawl post level 3-4. Ideally, wait till she uses her W, then fling her.

Play slightly more passive if she is running ignite.

VS

Gangplank

Medium

Before he complete's his trinity force, you have the lane advantage. Look to brawl early, especially with you ult. Avoid his barrels (even if it means getting zoned) or kill them when they reach 1 hp.

VS

Gnar

Medium

Unlike other champions, Singed is weak vs Mini Gnar, yet strong vs Mega Gnar. Once Gnar transforms, look to flip him and all-in. You can also fling lock his jump. (in both forms)

VS

Illaoi

Medium

Look to all-in once she misses her E. Run away instantly when she ults. Avoid tentacles.

VS

Irelia

Medium

Match-up works similarly to Fiora. Be wary of her E and burst damage. If you notice she doesn't get a Q reset, fling her away and let your regen kick in a bit before re-engaging.

VS

Jax

Medium

Fling him to avoid his E. Your ult > then his ult, so use that to your advantage in post level 6 skirmishes. You can also fling lock his leap if you are quick.

VS

Jayce

Medium

Level's 1-5 you'll be zoned for most of the time, but once you hit 6, your all-in kill pressure goes up by a lot. Using fling lock on his melee E negates it entirely and removes a lot of his escape ability.

VS

Karma

Hard

Not a common match-up, but very annoying. Your best chance is to all-in post 6, unless she allows you to flip under tower early. Consider Banner of Command early on.

VS

Kayle

Hard

You won't be able to kill her 1v1 once she gets a few items, but early lane phase os actually when you have the best chance to snowball the lane in favour of yourself.

Look to either all-in or stay back, small trades aren't really an option here. Make sure to not use your fling while her ult is active, unless it guarantees the kill afterwards.

VS

Kennen

Hard

Very tough match-up overall. Your best chance is to all-in once he uses his E. Early Magic Resist purchases will help reduce his early power and swing the lane in your favour.

VS

Kled

Medium

You actually have a lot early kill pressure vs Kled pre-6, and even some post-6.

His bear trap on a rope can bait himself into your flip/goo flip. Run away if he is about to get his mount back.

VS

Lissandra

Hard

Theoretically you should never be able to fling her, but people underestimate Singed all the time, so it's not impossible. Early Merc. boots are a must buy. Look to all in once she wastes her W and/or E.

VS

Lulu

Hard

Very similar to the Lissandra match-up in the sense you should theoretically never be able to fling her. Early Mercs are crucial too. Look to all-in if she wastes Q and W on you.

VS

Malphite

Easy

Malphite is only threatening if he goes AP and harasses with Q a lot, otherwise you can just all in him pre-6. Ignore him post-6 unless he keeps letting you kill him. Proxy farming is very easy here.

VS

Maokai

Easy

Toggling your poison on/off doesn't count towards Maokai's passive stacks/healing. This means your 1v1 combat with him is always superior given the lane is even or better.

You can brawl as much as possible, proxy, both, the choice is yours.

VS

Nasus

Easy

You easily bully him early on. Once he completes spirit visage, look to proxy as much as possible and cause chaos/distraction. Even if he ends up farming a lot, you're able to goo flip him easily in team fights, making his stacking time useless.

VS

Nautilus

Easy

You're able to brawl Nautilus very easily, especially post-6. Just be careful if he's building more ap-oriented. Bait his E, then look to all in. You can fling lock his Q once you see his anchor connect with terrain.

VS

Olaf

Medium

Be careful of his early all-in potential, as it is one of the strongest in the game. Try not to stay in range of free E's from him. Run away when his W is active. Your post-6 1v1 fighting is better than his, granted he isn't too far ahead. Wait till his ult runs out, then turn on him and fling to look to kill.

VS

Pantheon

Medium

Avoid him at all costs pre-6. Accept the fact that you will be zoned and try to farm as much as possible unless he lets you kill him easily. Once you hit 6, look to all-in as much as possible, since you gain a massive combat advantage with your ult. Just be careful if he's running ignite.

VS

Poppy

Medium

Stepping on her passive and staying away from the walls are two mini games you have to keep in mind for this match-up. Try to avoid the second damage part of her Q has you go all in, preferably post 6, or once you get enough dark seals.

VS

Quinn

Hard

Quinn is one of those champions that make you contemplate your life decisions up until you've reached this point where you are now laning vs her. However, the lane is actually very winnable, it just requires patience. You are able to fling lock her E when she casts it on you, allowing you to negate it entirely, as well as still fling her behind you. This means she is now behind you with no escape. Use this time to all-in, especially post-6.

VS

Renekton

Medium

This match-up works similar to Pantheon, but you have slightly better pre-6 power, and slightly less post-6 power. Small trades favour him, but all-in's favour you. You are able to fling lock his E if timed right. Be careful if his fury bar is 50%+, as the bonus effects on his abilities used with 50%+ fury hurt a lot early game.

VS

Riven

Medium

This match-up comes down to the skill of the Riven player, but early on your 1v1 fighting is decent before she gets a ton of cdr. You are able to fling lock her 3rd Q and her E, to deny some damage/mobilty. Don't be afraid to use your ult a lot, it partially negates her passive damage increase on her ult, and paired with fling reduces a lot of her potential damage.

VS

Rumble

Medium

Your main win condition is avoiding his spells when he overheats, then right as he is about to leave his overheat state, all in while he is still silenced. Early Magic Resistance can help a lot.

VS

Ryze

Hard

Treat Ryze like the Cassiopeia match-up in general. Once he uses his W or enhanced W is the best time to look to all in, especially post-6. Early Magic Resistance is crucial.

VS

Shen

Easy

Unless he lets you kill him early, nothing really happens in this lane. Farm up/look to proxy as much as possible. Either follow his ult with your tp, or double proxy depending on the situation.

VS

Sion

Easy

Look to fling him while he's charging his Q. As long as you avoid his E, fighting him straight up is fairly easy. He is also easy to proxy against if things go south.

VS

Swain

Hard

You're going to get zoned most of the laning phase. Once you get items, neither of you will be able to kill each other in a straight up 1v1. Look to create lots of map pressure.

VS

Tahm Kench

Easy

Once you get a few Dark Seals, you're able to out-sustain any prolonged fights. Make sure to have your poison toggled on as he eats you, since it still does damage to him. Once he gets a few items however, he becomes extremely tough to kill, so look to avoid him and either roam or proxy.

VS

Teemo

Hard

While difficult overall, this match-up requires extreme patience, and mostly comes down to what the Teemo chooses to build. If he is fairly squishy, you're able to all-in him post 6, or sometimes pre-6 if he lets you. If he is smart then just accept that you will likely be zoned, and look to proxy is much as possible.

VS

Trundle

Medium

This Dark Seal setup is a decent counter to Trundle in the sense it matches his sustain when you brawl him early. Be careful of his early cheese still, and run away once he ults you. Otherwise you should win most prolonged skirmishes.

VS

Tryndamere

Easy

Unless he gets lucky with his early game crit chance, this is a fairly easy matchup. You are able to fling lock his E, and have decent brawling power with him overall. A decent opponent to proxy against easily as well. Treat this match-up similar to the Nasus match-up, but more wise early game trading.

VS

Vladimir

Medium

This Dark Seal setup is a decent counter to Vlad's early game harass. If you are able to get a fling off post level 3-4, then you'll likely win an all-in trade. Rinse and repeat until his heals/damage get a bit overwhelming. At that point just look to proxy and/or roam.

VS

Wukong

Easy

This is an easier version of the Pantheon match-up. Unless he scales out of control somehow, you naturally are tankier and do more damage in prolonged skirmishes. Look to do wise trades pre-6, and all-in post-6. Just be careful not to fling his clone, and if he decided to run ignite.

VS

Yasuo

Medium

This match-up is similar to Riven in the sense it comes down to the skill of the Yasuo player. Before he buys frozen mallet, (or reaches 2-3 items generally speaking) you have a natural advantage. When you go in for trades, proc his passive shield with your poision or auto attack before flinging him for extra damage output. You are also able to fling lock one of his dashes. Use your ult right before he ults you to reduce his damage.

VS

Yorick

Medium

When he has no ghouls active, fight as much as possible. When he has ghouls active, run away and try to last hit them if possible. He is another easy opponent to proxy against.

Explanation of Guide and Important Notes Back to Top

Hello there! I'm Triple Proxy, a high elo Singed main currently hovering at high diamond/low master tier mmr. I have received a lot of questions from many curious people regarding Singed. Instead of continuously repeating myself over and over again, I have decided to make this guide to hopefully help answer everyone's questions at once, as well as in better detail and explanation.

Since this is a guide explaining my play-style on Singed, there are a bunch of small general details I have left out, since they are already covered by some of the other Singed guides on this site. I recommend you check them out as well if you are looking for general in-depth explanation on some Singed behaviours, item descriptions, proxying etc.

That being said, I welcome any feedback you have to offer about this guide, and am willing to answer any questions you may have in the comment section. I am looking to keep this guide up to date, to coincide with the ever going meta changes in this game and how that affects Singed.

I hope you have fun discovering the hidden powers of the Dark Seal, even at the expense of other people's fun ;)
