9.pngFiddle's ultimate is terrifying, but halving his damage for 2s can avoid a lot of decimates.
157.pngOne thing about Yasuo's ulti is that it has a previous animation before it damages. Because of that, you can do timing with your exhaust and land it just before the tick, you wont reduce only that damage but also a some more after what its important too because Yasuo gains a buff after landing his ultimate that allow him to ignore 50% BONUS armor of his target.
On lane remember to use it during the engage and not as a panic button, and try to use it on the best target thinking about the 2 seconds of duration (TRY TO REDUCE ALL THE DAMAGE THAT YOU CAN!).


  • 14.pngSecond option. I have two reasons to take this: One is face a 16.png, the only one healer who can overheal once and again a target (I dont priorize taking 14.png for Mundo if i have a good 3.png target). The other one is if the enemy has a very squishy team (4 champions at least) and i want to have more damage to assesinate.
On lane use it to counter 7.png, don't use it as an execution, do it like exhaust as soon as the engage start.


  • 1.pngCan be an option against 22.png+89.png, both together, because they have an insane cc to reduce you to the ground. You just need be experienced enough because it is not a good testing spell.


  • 7.pngOnly if your ADC dont take it... what it does not have to happens anyway...


  • 12.pngAnother option if you are good with it and you dont need 3.png. You can have almost an instant health/mana recharge and a way to move on the map and getting objetives. Nope if you are not used to use it.


  • 11.png????? Weird as hell. Can be fun on normal games but make you lose a spell for the lolz.


  • 21.pngAs cleanse, you can take it if 3.png wont be effective enough, but i only like to take this as on a heal build with nice armor and MR to make the shield more effective, but thats another build. I prefer 14.png.

  • 6.pngI... i don't get the point of this....well... i guess you can land good ults with this but... of course all spells have an use you have MORE usefull spells.

A focus on damage page. The key is not a choice if you want to do the best damage. Going for ferocity instead of resolve have the same point: make damage.


12 Ferocity

Sorcery: no valid alternative.
Double edge sword: you could take expose weakness but you do your own damage to make double edge sword worth.
Natural talent: no valid alternative.
Bounty hunter: You can choose. I prefer bounty hunter because i use to kill at least 2 different champions (or more), and the other one does not help me when i poke alone.

18 Cunning

Wanderer: no valid alternative.
Secret stash: You are not going to be solo too many times for assasin, but its not bad if you face a passive lane or you just want to take assasin.
Merciless: Once you have your damage core you will be able to do a lot os damage and execute overconfidence enemies below 40%. Your rune page compensate the mana regeneration left.
Bandit: Its a way better point that synergize with your poke nature.
Precision: No questions about this on the build. Too good to ignore it, and remember, it's not 3 hybrid flat penetration, it does scale 3+  0,3 per level.
Thunderlord decree: A must for the build. Thanks to this and hextech revolver you will do a WTF damage early on. Before the item you have to manage your autoattacks to proc it, just remember that the moment you gain your passive buff, your autoattack timer resets. (with 2 charges: auto attack - Q - gain buff - auto attack)

ALTERNATIVES

The only mandatory points on this kind of build are and <Precision>. Its totally rigth to do some changes on the other ones (also going 12 resolve) to fit your gameplay or the enemy team.

If you are planning to take this build but they are something like 4 tanky champions, you probably should change to the "normal" version of 37.png.

Basic path for Sona on 90% of my games. You can take another point on W earlier if you both are getting poked really hard. Dont avoid that point on E, it gives you mobility for a lot of things (poke, ganks, go back to the lane, ward...)


What-to-know about skills

sonapassive.pngWhen you get the third charge so the passive its on your auto-attack timer resets. This way you can activate thunderlord quickly even before hextech's revolver: With 2 charges, do an auto, Q and another insta-auto.
sonapassive.pngYour passive ALWAYS gives extra damage after your third song 13-192(+10% patch july 2016)( based on level  and not only the blue one, who gives you 40% bonus on that damage 18-269(+10% patch july 2016) (based on level) 
sonapassive.pngYou can know which one you have by looking close at the colour of the animation around Sona (its depends on your skin).
sonapassive.pngBe active by choosing the appropiate chord: Q for poke or burst if you can kill a champ. W if he is going do to a lot of damage or to reduce baron/dragon's damage. E to slow an enemy on ganks, chase or peel for allies.

sonahymnofvalor.pngValor always go for 2 enemies if they are close enough, so a lot of times you are going not to-on-purpose poke a lot of minions. Just try to be the less annoying you can to your carry.


sonaariaofperseverance.pngPerseverance is really expensive for "just" heal you or your ally because the half of his power resides on the shield, wich is useless if it does not take any damage. Also is not eficcient to heal just you or another one. Be carefull by spamming this, its a mana trap, and some lanes are lost by wasting your mana. How many times did you reach level 6 and you dont have mana to make a play with your ult?


sonasongofdiscord.pngCelerity has the same issue of your heal. It gives you utility for a lot of things but using a too often it's absolutly pointless.
sonasongofdiscord.pngGives you and your ally 3seconds of speed boost out of combat. Dont run to your lane if he is back, go buff him.
sonasongofdiscord.pngIs a great tool to poke and run. Use it not to getting caught after your poke or to help you at reaching fast opponents.


sonacrescendo.pngThink about enemy's speed before using it at long ranges, some champions like Miss Fortune or Janna are harder to hit on movement and does not worth the try.
sonacrescendo.pngUse it at his best depends on the match. You can use it to burst someone if you know he will die, to interrupt a dangerous channeling skill, to start the engage for your team, to counter-engage... The most usuall way i see that people waste it is to "catch" a tank out of position "Hey look! i have a Mundo!"

Starting Items

    Basic first buy. Spellthief's Edge gives you the same mana regen as Ancient coin but more damage. Also, you will win more gold early if you manage to use all his charges. Warding is also mandatory, but the three pots slot could be situacional depending who you face and how much damage you use to take.
    They are two good options if you dont take three pots with first buy. Refillable is something like pots with the difference that it gives you less health per back but more after the first one. Also you can sell it for 60g what is nice enough. Actually i prefer Faerie Charm than Refillable because it helps even more getting Frostfang. My rule to pick this is just facing a low threat duo.

Core Items

    It's hard to give you a "core" because there is not such a thing for every game. All depends on kills, back frequence, enemy team, enemy bot, jungler... So i will talk about every item one by one.
    It's a trap! People dont use to ask why they buy this on EVERY match, and i will tell you something: just buying when you dont actually need it is just 400g disadvantage on lane (800g cost for 400g HP worth, if we "ignore" warding). I try to avoid this buy as much as i can because i go for max damage Sona and this thing delays me 800g. Take a look to the ward section.
    oh! my little genie on a lamp! If you can you should buy this on your first back, why? it gives you an incredible easy-burst that anyone expect: Once you have thunderlord and hextech its simple, Q + Auto = 1) Q damage 2) Auto damage with Q bonus and passive bonus 3) Magic bolt from hextech 4) Thunderlord thanks to the third hit with that magicbolt. The result is insane. At level 5-6 if you just poke with this the ADC will lose about 40-60% of his HP depending on MR.
    I go for this on my first back if i didnt get 1050 g. Its very cheap and better than just 20 AP book. You can buy it after Hex or Sorc boots, but you should not wait more.
    Very gold efficent for this build. Gives you a really good burst to almost all your source of damage with a little HP help. I use to take this after Hex-FrostFang-SorcBoots unless we are destroying them so i can rush Lich Bane.
    Another very good early item. More damage than you can expect if you already have hextech (dont buy this befeore hextech) and mobility to compensate your weak spot and to make easier to land your poke.

Situational Items

    You can go for another boots option but it does not really fit on this build. My personal exception is to take mercury's against massive CC's like mumus and Sejuani. The others would reduce not only your Skill damage but also Hex revolver, Thunderlord and Lich.
    Sometimes they have so much AP and your team can get bursted so quickly that you need one of these. Every item on your core but Hextech can wait if you need a legion. Also there is nothing bad about buying legion and delay the upgrade, just take solari if you need to stop AoE burst or Banner if they use to go as five and you need some top pressure.
    I use to make a choice between both for my last item. Void its incredible if i dont need more survival because when i take it i can kill some people with R-Q-auto (hex up, Thunder up, power cord up). Abyssal its better if they have any AP killer who can kill you too fast, the more AP you have on your team the better this item is too.
    They are way too far from this kind of build, BUT when the match is getting long enough and i see that i cant really kill people, i change my build slowly to heal to allow 40% CDR with Grail. Another factor to go these items are long TFs vs DPS enemies (tanks, bruisers that you could overheal for a long time)
    I use to take Eye instead of Frost Queen just because that way i have one more slot. Frost Queen is amazing by the way, its a safe button that can help you on a LOT of situations like go to your jungle when an assasin could kill you, when you go dragon/baron and when your team is getting flanked.
    If i take Haunting Guise, when do i upgrade it? I dont use to get that far, but i do after my sixth item if the only thing i want is more damage. Sometimes... i can sell Haunting Guise and buy Rabaddon but only if i can go with -300 HP and i have more money that i can spend... so if almost never take Rabaddon on my build damage.
    Almost core. I go got it on my usuall shopping: Hextech-Sorc Boots-Frost Fang-Haunting Guise-sheen-(Eye of the watchers if i have sightstone)-Lich Bane
    Expensive form of my Hextech tool. I take it as an "upgrade" only when all the other 5 slots are complete.
    The Dark Seal is really efficent and sometimes when i have 350 extra gold i take it, on the worst scenario, i will sell it later for almost his cost, on the best, it will give you a LOT of AP for his price. Mejai? nah.. i prefer it as mid thanks to the level advantage, as an agressive support you can die to easly.
    Nope. Not efficent enough to your poke-burst and i dont like to take this kind of utility as Sona.
    Fun item! You have problems to poke cause you can never get close enough to auto? take this! It does not only give you only extra range, also the energized strike gives you some damage. Sadly, veeery situacional due his ADC stats :(
    If you have have Frost Queen, when should you take sighstone upgrade? Take it if you really need some extra HP, thanks to the 6.13 changes its cheap enough and the cd reduction is double than before (from 10% to 20%)
    I like it when i have decided to go a late-game heal. Once i have Grail, Rylai is an option to give you 400 HP, more AP for heals and Damage and a little slow to help your team.
    Late game and heal build path specific. I dont get this unless i have full confidence on my ADC, FULL.
    Not good enough for damage, nothing for your teammates, better for a mid carry. You can do it anw if they are trying to kill you as a carry.
    Not bad at all if i did the heal build path and i want some pressure or some split-defense.
    Full-defense items are something i dont like to take with this build, the only ones i can think about are FH on heal build path or Banshee's Veil if they have a hard engage with CC. Avoid it if not necessary

Damage build path

Getting focus on burst down carrys as a Leblanc would. Its my main path if nothing makes me change.

Abouth go over 40-45% CDR:

When building a "supporting" list, you can see that a lot of items gives you some CDR what makes sometimes very difficult to avoid overcap it. My personal experience and investigations about challenger Sonas says that you should not worry too much about this, all the items above from the healing build has a really good supporting effect and it's better to take that utility than avoid the over-cap. Anyway all support items on proper situations and champions have a nice boost on gold efficienty

From easy to hard, depend of the difference of skill at positioning.

If she is a mid lanner poking her will be much harder if she builds a 3027.png because your focus should be to kill or almost do it on combos and not just poke. The difference between levels and a probably stun combo could make you stay feared without using your poke.
You can easy poke her. Look at her stun charges and do no get a infernalguardian.png.
Be aware for a 4.pnginfernalguardian.png combo so don't be at low HP and at range of both of them if its happens.

Easy to poke.

Difficulty from easy to hard depending on support matchup.
Early on 22.png is easy to deal with. Your minions will block any asheW.png if you positionate well. She has not bad autoattack range, but it does worth to poke her for just one or two autos. Once said, if you see asheQ.pnganimation stay back until ends, you dont have to take that extra damage.
At level 6 everything change. A bad positioning by you will by punished with a asheR.png no matter who is with her, but the more damage or cc his support has the more threating any asheR.png could be. 89.png53.png201.png143.png1.png They are some examples for what i mean. Once you are cc'd you are probably dead.

Easy

Easy to poke. Not bad to focus but they use to build hybrid tank.

aurelionsolQ.pngIs easy to avoid if you have your eyes on him.
aurelionsolE.pngMake possible a gank but my experience is that they dont use to. Anyway keep attention on mid lane so he wont surprise you.
Keep moving and dont stack for an easy aurelionsolR.png.

Easy to poke.

Depending on skill, most of 268.png are easy to deal with pokes just playing away from soldiersazirW.png. The rest of good 268.png will make you pay a bad move with nice burst so dont understimate him too soon.

You can gank him for a kill (hes squishy) but dont fail your sonacrescendo.png with a jumpazirE.png, be fast enough. 

His ultimateazirR.png should not be a problem because you should not be at his range,the only reason to be there is having enough damage and that means he will use it to keep you AWAY from him.

Easy to poke.

Difficulty from very easy to living hell. 432.png Is a Pandora's box, analyzes his level to determinate how you should play.

bardpassive.pngBad ones will leave alone his adc to take some of these or will use randomly the empowered autoattack. Good ones will use every chance to roam over the map and spread all the lanes with hell.

bardQ.pngBad ones wont hit you too many times or wont proc the stun, wasting his mana. Good ones will make you think twice if you should walk near a wall or a minion.

bardW.pngBad ones wont make this skill so noticeable, they will heal sometimes but if you are always ahead you can easyly do overdamage. Good ones are bullys so they are more like you: a pain in the ass who does enough damage to be annoying and also heal.

bardE.pngBad ones will use this sometimes very predictably so you will say "WTF? really you think that will work?". Good ones will make his corner with river a dangerous area because of ganks. Remember that they can trap you if you go after them using portal, you become an easy stun bardQ.png while using it.

bardR.pngBad ones just... fails this or use it with no effect. Good ones.... will use it as an asheR.pngif any of you stay alone. Care at feeling secure at tower, they can dive you by bardR.png you tower.

Total counter if he knows how. Blitz use to be good vs Sona because she is squishy and you go MORE squishy than a normal Sona.
You can poke a lot at the beginning but once he has overdrive.png you are fucked. He can grab you no matter how bad or well you are lanning, be carefull when you poke him and EVEN MORE if you have the nice idea of poke him at his tower. He is also a "friendly" support for his jungler because his grab...
You are going to have a bad time.

They use to use brandfissure.png a lot to poke, if you constantly avoid them he will go out of mana fast. 
Your main goal is to not stack his passivebrandpassive.png, which it procs once with every spell or multiple times with a single bouncing brandwildfire.png.
You can afford the damage of his three basics brandblaze.pngbrandfissure.pngbrandconflagration.png if they are recieved one by one, but dont get stuned by a chaining brandblaze.png, dont get the damage of an empowered brandfissure.png (deals 25% more damage on burning targets) and STAY AWAY FROM YOUR ALLY IF HE CAST brandwildfire.png.

On teamfights he is a good focus for you because hes nothing but outleveled damage for his team, dont forget him, he can do you all if you do so. Kill him fast, what it should be easy if you get to him.

Hard

Tricky one. Don't ever get hitted by his braumQ.png if they can do an engage, so be aware about being next to an enemy minion because of braumW.png

He can block your poke with braumE.png no matter your focus, but it will be hard to kill him with this skill up. If sonacrescendo.png touches the wall just a little it will be banished.
Last thing is braumR.png, what make very hard to at poke range of him at lane with no cost. The good thing is that if you are fast enough and far enough it is not really hard to dodge.

Tricky to poke due her range.

Difficult goes from easy to hard, depending on her skill on each skill. 51.png is a champion with a skillset that show us easyly how good is she.

caitlynpiltoverpeacemaker.pngBad ones will throw their mana spamming this, failing a lot also. Good ones will hit you more often and combine it with other skills.

caitlynyordletrap.pngBad ones put random traps everywhere or just to cover bush or gank path. Good ones put it to make hard your positioning to poke, will make a risk entering a bush while running because one trap could be there and will put one when someone is cc'd to maximice damage and estend cc.

caitlynentrapment.pngBad ones only uses this for disengages or maybe will fail at landing an agresive cast. Good ones, and here is where you will see the most difference between Caits, will hit you with this while you are poking, followed by a caitlynpiltoverpeacemaker.png and an autohit. Her best combo for you.

caitlynaceinthehole.pngThe more damage they are able to do with the other skills, the more dangerous this one gets. Is she is good at damaging you, she probably would land this on CD to burn your mana with sonaariaofperseverance.png and overdamage your sustain.

Easy to poke. A nice target.

Wait until cassiopeiamiasma.png over and you will have free way.
cassiopeiapetrifyinggaze.pngCan stop you from poke but they use to keep it for better purposes. If you are on a siege situation dont get caught by cassiopeiapetrifyinggaze.png if she has mates.

Easy to poke but unworthy.

He is a constant to avoid during the game. You cant do much to him but he can destroy you with a combo rupture.pngferalscream.pngfeast.png. Try to heal what he does and keep doing your job on other enemies.
Think about having a3105.png against him.
 Dont use 3.png on him unless you can stop a rupture.png+feralscream.png on a stacked group, feast.png remains unaffected.

Corki

Easy to poke.

Corki is really easy on bad hands, all will come from the engage of his support if he is that bad.
carpetbomb.pngIs the only thing to worry about early on. If you keep your feet on safe position they could not engage you.
carpetbomb.pngIf he has delivery play passive even if you cant see him, he can do double jump (the long with delivery and the short without it) with no CD! expect a gank or an agressive play then.

Good 119.png do A LOT of damage because you have to know how his combo works to do it:
  1. They have 2 charges of dravenspinning.png at the moment of the trade.

  3. They use dravenfury.png to get autoattack range and start the trade
  4. They have a lot of Attack speed at this moment thanks to dravenfury.png
  5. The first 2 autoattacks are dravenspinning.png huge ones, and THEY WILL GRAB AT LEAST ONE OF THOSE AXES BECAUSE IT REFRESH dravenfury.png CD!
  6. They use again dravenspinning.png once he has less than one charge and dravenfury.png to get again the attack speed boost.

On lane move like a living ward always, you can see28.png if she gets close enough. Moving from one side to another will make her hard to flank you on lane and harder to gank. Believe me that if you move decently you will reduce a lot the chances of a gank.

If she ganks you and you have 3145.png think about the possibility of killing her, she is glass on early game.

Always have a pink on the map after lanning phase and put some wards to have vision on camps to catch her out of stealth.

Keep moving and dont take too many ezrealmysticshot.png. They have a little more of hitbox than expected so dont blame the "luck" if you are hitted too much because good 81.png use it to land ezrealmysticshot.png with his edge.

The best reaction you can have to agragasexplosivecask.png is 4.png to the opossite direction: he lands the barrel a few steps ahead so you 4.png crossing the area to get propelled to your scape route. This is not a "wow that was nice" reaction, its easy enough to be done every single time (almost) so try it until you get used to.

A very easy champion if you are better than her, but depending on the cover that his ADC can provide.

fallenone.pngDoes not a lot of damage on early or middle game, if you have sonaariaofperseverance.png before the animation ends you should not have problems to survive. Take a look for allies who could need your help.

If she gets fed enough to kill you on a double jump take some HP or/and magic resistance.

Not bad to 3.png if you see the burst moment.

Before level six you have to play safe enough to face go back or face him if he enters on your lane. blindmonkqone.png Is not hard to avoid at long range and its really good to do ir because its his main damage skill.

After 6 his ganks could become a hell depending on how good is he with blindmonkrkick.png, the good ones will kick your ass out of your tower. You have to think three things about this skill:
  1. Try to not put yourself on a line because blindmonkrkick.png damages every single one touched by the target.
  2. If hes about to blindmonkrkick.png you, use 4.png on the opposite side so he will send you to a safe spot.
  3. Do care about your position near walls. If he has vision of you you can be send to the middle of their team through the wallblindmonkrkick.png. A good example is while you are on the dragon pit (or out of it).

The best way to deal with 89.png and his ally is do a LOT of poke at level onel. You can do it to Leona but she has a 500 HP pool with potions, go for his carry so he wont be able to follow her if she engages.

A good one can read through minions to lands a long range lucianQ.png like a 21.pngmissfortunericochetshot.png does.
If he gets you outpositioned he will trade with a fast chain of lucianE.png + auto x2 + lucianQ.png+auto x2 what is very unworthy.
The less common thing they do is the lucianW.pnglucianR.png combo, so i will tell you how it works:
  • lucianR.pngCan be tricky to land due the fixed direction on channeling, once you are one step away from it you probably wont take any more damage. What 236.png has to do is cast a previous lucianW.png on you and instantly go for a lucianR.png, the mark from lucianW.png gives him bonus speed everytime he deals damage to you so you would have to avoid the shots while he is moving +60, what is not that easy.

Tricky to poke. Average enemy.

Play with your distance.luluq.png Has some range but its slow enough to be avoided.
lulue.pngWill damage you and his fairy will follow you and probably cast luluq.pngat melee. To prevent lulue.png just stay away because it has not too much range.

When you are poking she has some tools to stop it.
She can shieldlulue.png for a little amount so you should try to poke without this. 
Secondly she can boost movement speed what can make sonacrescendo.png hard to land on a mobile target.
Last lulur.png can not only save but prolong the trade to give them advantage. Be concious about this skill once she is 6 and dont make trades on extreme.

The lane is about not recieving luxlightbinding.png, thats all. You can take some luxlightstrikekugel.png if she does not autoattacks after that, luxlightstrikekugel.png is expensive for just do damage. 
On level 6 the same rule become mandatory. If you get cc'd by luxlightbinding.png you are gonna suffer luxlightstrikekugel.pngluxmalicecannon.png + what ADC does, what means death.
Avoid, move, dange, dodge luxlightbinding.png, make her waste her mana with luxlightstrikekugel.png, go base at safe spots luxmalicecannon.png and poke poke poke.


If she is mid

Dont lose your 3145.png charge with him, he has resistance and sustain to make it... senseless. Also you could get caught on your try maokaiunstablegrowth.png by his click-shot.

If he is a real threat to your team, changing your composition to heal will counter him hard. Hes not the best damage dealer and being able to stop some damage with a 3190.png and spamming heal will make his constant zero (then you have to watch about the other enemies of course).

Dont waste 3.png unless you could save someone.

Easy to poke. Easy to ward.

He is very curious, no matter how "easy" are his skills, you should be able to see a good one in action. People like to blame about champions with no skill-shots but this one has to know how to play to do something on early and middle-game (anyway it is true that a bad one can pentakill with no brain thanks to the gold  on late and the support of his entire team).

  • Remember that alphastrike.png can be used to avoid your sonahymnofvalor.png and sonacrescendo.png. Only use your sonacrescendo.png out of his jump range or once he did use it.
  • meditate.pngIs very well timed by good 11.png. If you can try to stop it with sonacrescendo.png.
  • highlander.pngis the perfect moment to use 3.png on him. He would be inmune to the slow effect but not to the damage and armor/mr reduction one!.
Once more, one of the best 3.png to use.

If she use to missfortunericochetshot.png on minions to get to you she will be a little annoying for positioning depending on his support, both could make your move really hard.

Every time i go out of position vs a good one, she instantly cast missfortunescattershot.png on my followed by missfortuneviciousstrikes.png autos and missfortunericochetshot.png, a terrible mistake you have to be able to predict. If she has a support with some engage or damage it could be deadly.

tormentedsoil.pngIs a mana trap for her, it just help her taking money from 3303.png and thunderlord proc.

blackshield.pngYou will have to play smart with this. Its and upgraded shield that not only will reduce your burst on a target but algo will make him inmune to sonacrescendo.png cc effect. If you are going to cast it, dont be too obvious or wait for the CD (which is huge for a basic, 23s).

soulshackles.pngMake shine good ones. They use a good moment to do an engagement and posibly forcing two 4.png. If they go base at level 6 or almost 6, go base aswell or they will crush you at this window opportunity.

Invade alert! Be ready for an invade if they have one.

She has a complete skill-set to be a threat to you.

namiQ.pngCan cc you while poking. Remember that the close you are to her, the fast the animation lands. The easiest one to eat is one from the bush with no vision.

namiW.pngCan heal your early pokes at the same time that counter pokes you if she is fast enough when you go poking.

namiE.pngMake a long range carry bothering, doing more damage and slowing you enough to recieve more damage from other sources.

namiR.pngIts the overextend paytaxer. If you are too deep with no reason she will make a gank really easy to become a double kill for them. If you are not really ahead at this point, stay alert.

During late game he probably will iniciate withpantheon_grandskyfall_jump.png while his team charges, you can practice landing sonacrescendo.png the moment he falls so he cant do a good iniciation on a carry.

She is a constant pain during teamfights, take cover and dont stay near walls at her sigh poppyheroiccharge.png or you will be stunned and harmed really hard.
If she is casting ultimatepoppydiplomaticimmunity.png think about what you really need in that moment: if you have to be there dont stay near or on line with allies, if you are out of mana or you just prefer to run.. go in! lot of 78.png save enemies every day :D

You have to be careful with this one.

First she can slow you for a nice amount with a non-skillshotquinnE.png.
Secondly if she is good or you unlucky, using sonahymnofvalor.png at the same time you are blind quinnQ.png will result on an empty cast with no effect. She has usually so much damage that even waiting 1.5s before blind dissapear could result as a death, if that is so, use your sonacrescendo.png with no vision and aim good, they probably wont move during blind time.
But the most hated thing she has for you is quinnR.png. You have to be 100% cautious when warding just a few steps away from your control area. If she can see you warding, you have problems so do it fast and go to a secure area.

He is member of "I dont care you ve warded that spot". He can rush your lane powerball.png fast as thunder, if you are healthy enough or you could survive after that, intercept him so he wont puncturingtaunt.png your carry.

He has some annoying cc renektonpreexecute.png and some damage.. but i dont remember one of these becoming my primary3.png objetive. I just sustain his damage as long as i can, he is very weak vs heal builds.

As threat, from medium to hard..really hard and difficult to ward.
107.png has an incredible damage unless hes doing crap. Before six you probably wont see him and if you do, you will see him and be able to stop him if you stay away from bushes.

Yeah, but that wont last forever. With rengarR.png the hunt begins.
Dont overextend and play depending on where you can see him. Ganking top¿ nice, you have some time to play before he can go bot.
Ward deep enough to see him before he ganks.

Having a 2043.png its a perfect way to counter a gank from him. As soon as you see hes coming on stealth drop it and sonacrescendo.png him before he can reach you. 75g to protect your summons and your life, seems good?

On late game im sorry about that slot but always take 2043.pngx2 for him and for objetives. Think about pinks like a normal item that you would buy to counter someone, like magic resistance vs an AP carry or thornmail. As normal ward properely to avoid flanking.

Shacos are something special, they can do it terrible or god-like, the best you can do it think that he is a good one.

On lane try to ward 2043.png a spot but count with a gank no matter where you ward. So if he can gank always... what can i do? look at his appereances on the map to go full agressive. Thats something you have to do with every single jungler...but 35.png is one of the best teachers for this.
You can put deep wards for him (like dragons pit, blue buff, red buff...), that way you will see him before he go stealthdeceive.png.
He has low HP and defenses. Try to kill him with sonacrescendo.png and a poke-combo once you have enough damage.
For mid and late game tips: ward to watch him and grab a pink2043.png if he is good enough to make it worth.

The most frustrating skill he has for you is shenstandunited.png, sometimes it seems it has the perfect cd for every single situation. You cant do little to this, only if you can kill the shielded champion on time he wont appear, but that does not use to happens.
If he teleport succesfully he would insta-tauntshenshadowdash.png and shenfeint.png (inside the circle of the sword it blocks autoattacks for the duration, making your adc useless). You can time your sonacrescendo.png before he get there to open a scape route (or a kill one)

Unless they have huge monster you fear like anything on this world so you take 3.png, take 14.png for Soraka. She is the only one healer who can outheal a lot of sustained DPS and burst.
The key is not stay on starcall.png. Absolutely +10000 star away from starcall.png and EVERYTHING will be easy as hell. (Sadly, your adc has something to say here..)
Without the sustain of starcall.png, her healing cast astralblessing.png wont be enough to stop you. Maybe before 3145.png she can hold them healthy but after your item you can crush them both.
If she is good, she will cast infuse.png on an obvious poke from you so you wont cast sonahymnofvalor.png (making your that poke useless). Her roots are easy to avoid so... dont.
Try to  sonacrescendo.png on her before she is at 40% life so she will be cc'd to cast wish.png (wish.png heal +50% on champions below 40%).

Easy to poke but he has a lot of sustain so make it worth.

Dont take his swainshadowgrasp.png, should be easy.

Most probably he wont be scary. He is like a slow version of 53.png with more survival.
Stay away from his tonguetahmkenchQ.png and engages will be unprobable. His power is all about stacking his tahmkenchpassive.png passive on you, so dont let him.
If he is miss on lane dont go too far to recieve an easy tahmkenchR.png gank.
If he is about to die with a huge grey tahmkenchE.png portion on life, do as you would with tryndamere, land a good sonacrescendo.png so he cant cast his shield.

Easy to poke. From easy to hard depending on if she uses all his skills effectively.

If you face her dont take a full x5 taliyahQ.png because it would rape you. For those who does not understand 163.png: When she cast a taliyahQ.png it had 5 missiles by default. On the place she do the cast, an area will appear and stay for about 180 seconds. That area has two effects, the first one is that taliyahQ.png casting there will land only ONE missile, the second one is that she is faster in there.
taliyahW.pngMust be avoided at all cost. When casting, she will throw you wherever she wants (usually by her side <3). 
taliyahE.pngIs just a slow to make you more easy to reach.

taliyahR.pngThe ultimate will difference a lot the good and the bad ones. As a 4.png she can gank you not only fast but also blocking your path to run awat. You better save your 4.png for this perk. If you are close enough to the wall before it builds, you can cross it to the other side. Judge what side is the best every moment, dont leave your ADC if you can go over the situation.

threshW.pngIs the most tricky thing about this lane. You have to pay attention on every move and every bush, some 412.png use threshW.png all times, other ones almost never. The most common one he can do no matter his skill is the one on his tower when you are pushed to gank you fast with his jungler. Always stay away from him if you think that could happen.

Last, undyingrage.png its easy to deal with vs most of tryndamere players. A good sonacrescendo.png before the cast or on the last second of duration will do him.

Since the first two skills will be too fast to prevent his damage with 3.png, use it while monkeykingspintowin.png if he is fed and there is a need to stop him somehow.

Remember that yasuoW.png blocks your combo and yoursonacrescendo.png, so dont be easy to read when you cast it.
He does not have extra magic resistance like all the other melee champions but he has his yasuopassive.png to compensate that. Try to trigger it before your real poke-combo.
Dont go close to him because he can kill you really fast. Open your eyes when he is on his third yasuoQ.png for avoiding it. Also do never feel safe if between you and him are a line of your minions because he can "do the train": yasuoE.png one after another until he reaches close to you.
Your biggest easy counter for him is your 3.png. Keep it until he uses his yasuoR.png, wait until the animation is about to end to use it because it does not do damage before that. You will reduce 50% of his ultimate and 2s of his buffed time(buff of his yasuoR.png), long enough to do something to him unless he is overfed.

From medium to hard.

He is one of the junglers who can jump into you from nowhere with no previous signals. If you are pushing get ready for a jump from the rocks on their side. Normal warding use to be effectiveless against him so try to do your best at putting wards where you think he is going to star and zacE.png.
Dont get stack with your team. If he has help while zacR.png and follows you, your will have some problems.
Kill go for the one who do the last zacpassive.png, as long as you are a support its still better to let that to a carry as far as you can.

Easy to poke. Do care if he is fed, ward properly if is that so.
He can destroy you or your allies too fast. You have to be ready for his ultimate for a 3.pngif needed.

Depending on her ADC he can be really dangerous. If he lands you two bombstimebomb.pngrewind.png and his ADC has some gap closer or special mobility81.png236.png104.png119.png, they gonna probably destroy you.
The good ones will take advantage about your bad positioning not using timewarp.png on themselves but using it at you so you cant avoid timebomb.pngrewind.pngtimebomb.png.
If someone is low enough but 26.png is close and has chronoshift.pngultimate be carefull, dont fall into a trap.

Zyra

Medium

From easy to hard.

Your skill at dodgingzyraE.png will determinate if she destroy you or not.
She can harass you both with zyraQ.png with a little mana cost and a big efficiency potential.
She is easy to kill as you so by being better than zyra you will kick her ass to the tower or to the ground.
Once she is level 6 dont get EVER trapped by a zyraE.png because you wont survive to a zyraR.png combo. Carefull with bushes.

IMPORTANT

  • This build is harder than the frequents but its fun and good when played carefully
  • It is a lot better against squishy champions. My rule is not to play it unless they have 2 (depending on the other 3) or 3 (far enough) optimal targets.


Core concept

I like Sona because i love a support who can go utility if you need it and go damage if you are crushing them. My Sona concept borns thanks to my tries on how to maximize this damage and the mage patch, who did a change on 3145.png

Almost all Sonas use to go for the healing keystone because, well, its absolutly good on Sona. You could go Thunderlord, but that meant that if you wanted to proc it you had to do the combo with the auto reset timer of your passivesonapassive.png or just simple attack one more time if you already had the buff. Possible but tricky sometimes, more even if you go too "glasscannon" and a second of bad positioning is payed with your kill.

Here is when 3145.png do his job. Every 40 seconds, your next auto attack will fire a magic bolt that deals magic damage depending of your level. That magic bolt counts as an extra hit to your thunderlord proc, what it means that with this item you only have to auto+q an enemy to make a tiny burst ( Q + auto with passive + magic bolt + thunderlords ). Your objetive is TRY (you can't always) to buy it at your very first back, lets say at level 5 or 6, so when you are back you have already your deadly combo.

At level 5-6, your combo with 3145.png can reduces the ADC life by a 50-60% depending on their magic resist! They never expect it. So if you have your ultimate, it's not really hard to kill him with a little help of your ADC and a good engage.

Glasscannon

So once i saw that potential i put all my resources on that path: do damage. Here is when the problematic part appears: getting offensive masteries and items makes you a chinese vase. Your skill wont depend on your practice with the champion with the combo, your best skill will be that one that makes you stay living and being usefull, and believe me that it wont be easy tons of times.

Pros

  • Easy-to-use skills.
  • Abusive damage vs squishy opponents.
  • You can adapt and become a healer if things gets bad.
  • A fun alternative if you have to support but you want to do damage.
  • People are not used to see this fast combo halving their HP, "WTF was that damage". Surprise +1!

Cons


  • Harder than normal 37.png. You can die very easily, you will pay your mistakes really hard.
  • You are way too fragile. If you have not survival instinct you are going to die often.
  • You are not going to give item utility to your team if you go full damage.
  • Your only scape is using E what it is not good as a gap-closer.

Check the magic resistance of bot lanners

Check how much MR do they have. You can do it previously on some web sites but there is no need, you can just check it when you reach your lane. Look if they have MR runes or not, because you will harm a lot champions without them

Buying and leaving base

  1. Dont be that one who stay on base one minute at the beginning. Buy and run to your position.
  2. Learn sonahymnofvalor.png and use it one time.
  3. Buy your starting items and dont forget the trinket.
  4. Leave the store as soon as you can (at 15 seconds of game)
  5. Use the middle lane to get to this point:Level_1.jpg
  6. While traveling, dont forget to cast a second sonahymnofvalor.png but dont use it a third time so you keep 2 charges of sonapassive.png.
  7. If the mid lanner did run two and saw you entering there you can leave or continue this path baiting him.
  8. Stay there and be carefull if they have hooks53.png412.png or roots darkbindingmissile.pngluxlightbinding.png. Stay close to your side of the map.
  9. Wait until 1:10 if they didnt do an invade, go to the other side of the bush and keep going up near the wall.
  10. Go outside the corner fast to see if his midd lanner is waiting there.
  11. If he is there, poke him as hard you can: Auto+sonahymnofvalor.png+Auto    >         sonahymnofvalor.png + auto        >           sonahymnofvalor.png
  12. Go back with your jungler&ADC to help with camp.
What do i archieve by doing this?
  • Going fast to that point from middle lane will give a perfect cover for an upper gank with low risk, when people stay at the jungle bush they get hooked sometimes. People dont expect a champion that mid bush.
  • You poke the mid laner, what will help your mid laner (sometimes a LOT if his mid is weak or you could atack more than usuall)
  • You get extra gold thanks you 3303.png and masteries, up to 27g (its something broh!)

Getting to the lane and level 1

Your goal is to have two charges (not full charged, two) when you reach to your lane. Positionate depending of what are they and where are they. The ideal situation is you waiting on their bush undetected so you can do auto+sonahymnofvalor.png+auto (thunder proc). This play use to force the only potion of the ADC. Try to do this but care about high range, damage and cc at level 1.

Pay attention entering your bush, 1/200 times they are waiting for you. Yes, its almost never but im not saying you should play different because of that, just stay alert once you leave your tower. The more passive their picks are, the easier making the first move is.

So then, you are on lane and you manage (or not) to do the first poke with thunderlord, your level one is absolutely good so try to bully them without taking too much damage. To do the x3 poke is wonderfull, but it does not worth if you take damage from 2 skills for that.

Dont let them go level 2 before you do, focus on poke but land some autos to the minions if your wave is below. The goal is be prepared with some healing for their level 2 (yours is not such a big deal).

Finally, if they did his camp bully them because they probably didnt without wasting HP and mana so you can take advantage.


From level 2 to level 6

Survive: You have not deadly damage yet, but you can poke as any 37.png would. Poke them as much you can but dont take unnecesary risks, remember that your runes and masteries dont give you survival, you have to play properly to your stats what is the most difficult thing about this build (not getting killed too much). 

Ganks: Since lvl 2 you can get ganked, but the long you wait until you put your ward the more time you will have vision later. Depending on your league junglers can be really predictable (agresive jungler with agresive keymastery = early ganks, passive junglers = low gank prob early on), anyway you can have a look on matchup for specific questions. Dont spam wards with no brain, sometimes my ADC put one on the river when we can see their jungler at top and middle with low HP, in that case there is no need to ward because it will dissapears before anyone comes to your lane. Use your cards, which are vision, summoners, differences between your HP and enemy (some these ones are the most important but everything has to contemplated) to keep your wards and to decide if you need already or not 2049.png.
Another thing you can do and they dont expect is to kill the jungler on ganks. As you have more damage than they expect sometimes you can kill squishy junglers on ganks (no, not 33.png!!!)

Back: Sometimes you can stay at lane long enough to get 1050-1100 (for your first buy 3145.png2043.png) but if you are not on premade you cant control everything. You should try to back every time your enemy does to be at the same build level. If they you kicked them, try to push with a normal lane, what i mean? if you push with a siege minion he will tank the tower for a long time and they probably will come back on time to kill a lot of minions. If you push with a normal minion wave they will be crushed ( Q.Q ). 
On the same way, if you have to go back before them try to do it on a siege minion wave to give you time. Its way lot better if you have already sonasongofdiscord.png to get back fast.

Pushing37.png Uses to push due her sonahymnofvalor.png, but you dont want to be under their tower, what can you do?. Similar to the rule of when to push to back you can reset the position of the lane by pushing far enough next to their tower, that way the wave will be cleared and the next one will be positioned on the middle of the lane. The best moment to do this is AFTER a siege minion's death, if you push with that siege minion he will resist too much time and the next wave will get to the tower too, push with a simple one.

Hit first hit hard: The first pokes with 3145.png are unexpected for them, they are not used to recieve that damage from a 37.png so early. You can use this to provoke a trade you know you can win or (one i like to do very often) to kill people who are low enough to get killed by you with a 4.png, to do that check first: 
  • If he is ADC or he is next to him, he could be healed by a 7.png
  • If he is next to his tower and they have a good cc you could be killed.
  • If your ADC did not hit the target recently he wont take any gold. Try (as long as you can) to do it while he may recieve an assistance.
Pink,pink: On every back you should buy one pink, more even if you are on blue side. Blue side has tribush on his side wich is very good to put that ward. Put there your pink when you are going to stay on lane (i mean, dont put it before backing, you have to defend it), if they are pushing way too hard you probably dont have to do it because they will destroy it. If the other support uses to break your pink dont put it there, you are just wasting your gold and giving it to him, place it on solo bush on river or at the top entry of your bot jungle.

You have to take always sonaariaofperseverance.png at level 2 to start healing. Try to use it only if you are going to heal both of us (or at engages of course); if you have some HP left, but your ADC is full, use some 2009.png. Keep poking and try to proc thunder every time you reach 2 charges of sonapassive.png (remember: autoattack + sonahymnofvalor.png[getting 3 charges] + autoattack); anyway dont suicide just to do it. Stay alert if they have an agressive jungler or they are on premade with him

Wait before poking when you are about to get level 3 so you will have an extra point on sonahymnofvalor.png.

You can take sonasongofdiscord.png or a second sonaariaofperseverance.png at level 4 depending on you and how is going the lane. My basic choice is sonasongofdiscord.png for helping on pokes, ganks, getting back to the lane, roam...i only do take sonaariaofperseverance.png when they are bullys by doing a lot of damage, that situation use to end at your tower where i dont need yet sonasongofdiscord.png so i go for extra sustain.

Level 5 has the same decision than level 4: Taking damage is the usual choice but you can adapt.

When you are about to get level 6 you can prepare a burst trap if you have 3145.png. Your full combo with sonacrescendo.png can deal about 60-70% HP on ADC, with a little help of your ADC its a fast kill. Have in mind if he has 7.png or if he has a support with a shield or heal. Stay alert because they can use their level 6 to engage.







Mid game Back to Top

Mid game is about objetives, what people uses to forget about on low elo leagues. Depending on your team this can be done on a lot of ways.


Stay or not at lane

The most tricky one. Your ADC has to never forget about farming your lane (ping huge waves to your ADC), but he should be at some point to contest. As a support you should be as much you can with your ADC, the only exception is when you can see that he is really good and is already fed, because the good ones use to know how to move when they are fed. 
The problem is that sometimes you are far ahead on your lane but all the other ones are behind, the enemy team are taking objetives like towers, herald or even dragon while you are on your bubble with the other bot laners. That should not happen, on soloQ you have to try to do as much you can. If you are ahead and your team needs you, push as deep you can and go help your team. On the other hand, if the enemy bot lane go to help their team you should go too ( You can push before ONLY if you have time to do it, but dont clear instead of going drake)

Turrets

They are your focus on middle game, not farming champions. Champions do respawn faster during middle game than late game, your best choice is to to as much objetives you can during this phase. Chase two champions with no warranty of kill or take that middle tower with no defenses? sounds "obvious"? well, people play as hounds almost always and go for kills to the hell if neccesary.

Did you know how turrets gives their gold? They give gold to every member of the team but also a fixed amount on local demolishers, if your minions do the job, they will keep the gold for them ( those bastards...). I remember this for another tip: You actually can leave the demolition spot so your ADC gets all the reward for himself. As a support, this is really helpfull because sometimes i have already my core and i prefer to give more money to carries as same i try not to take the kills.


Roaming

This build has a huge roam potential. If the enemy middle lanner is squishy, slow or both, its a perfect target to gank. The best moment is after a back, go to the middle and try to gank from a blind spot. Remember that you are not a jungler, you should not spend too much time doing this so if you dont see a clear chance dont wait like a rock.
To gank use your sonasongofdiscord.png always and try not to recieve damage from minions to keep the speed buff up. Time your sonacrescendo.png with his dash / 4.png and use your pokecombo on the cc, the rest should come from your mid lanner who should have damage to kill the target.


Drake

All of them are usefull for you, the only one who does not help to you directly is the mountain one, but does to your teamplay.
  • Cloud drake gives 25/50/75 speed out of combat. You can get to your target on pokes, do better ultimates and move through the map faster.
  • Infernal drake gives you 8/16/24% extra AD and AP. Just better numbers on damage, healing and also extra speed on sonasongofdiscord.png
  • Ocean drake restores 4/8/12% of your missing HP and mana over 5 seconds and procs every 8 seconds. Since you have not mana regen items this drake is perfect to you.
  • Mountain drake increase your damage to epic monsters and turrets by 10/20/30%. This is the only one not noticeable on teamfigths, but the longer the game is the more usefull it becomes.
You want to take all the dragons but sometimes you can let them one if it does not worth for you. Infernal is the most wanted and mountain helps any team composition and should be the second on priority most of times. Cloud drake helps on engages and could be "traded" to them if you have not the best position to contest it. Ocean drake helps a lot to teams with sustain because the support can heal their team and poke champions can spam their spells more often.

From a selfish point of view the most important for you are infernal and ocean. Infernal drake improves your damage what is obviously good, ocean drake gives you mana to spam spells what is really cool since patch 6.14 wich gave to 37.png an incredible CDR with sonacrescendo.png leveling. Cloud helps with mobility and getting close enough to poke, but you already have sonasongofdiscord.png doing the same work so it is just a little help you wont be able to feel before the second stack. Last, mountain drake improves your damage on objetives wich is nice but dont take place during teamfights ( normal ones, not "contests" on pits)

Vision

You can go without 2049.png on lane if you play consistenly, but once you are out of the lane or once the other lanes collapses on you is hard to avoid. I say this a lot of times on this guide: i try to delay this buy as much i can. I buy it when jungler or mid are coming too often during early or when they have any champion who is hunting everywhere. I take it if i didnt before after my "magic penetration core".

Once said that, playing with or without vision is a playstyle you have to feel good with to do well. Its a personal choice sometimes, but i dont take it too early to play more agressive, you can buy it? of course you can damn it, but if you do play with that and take benefits from vision. You can ward your jungle while you are back to your lane, ward for mid, pits, the only problem i see is to spend 800g on 400g HP worth for a vision a person wont use well enough: use what you have.

When using 2049.png, try to generate usefull information about enemies depending on where are they playing. There are too many places to talk about here (look at that section), lets just say that defense wards are a primary need before offense ones, if you know about ganks and roams you are doing good. Dragons pit is another place you have to ward but dont do it constantly at early unless they prove their will to do it.


Poke-n-kill

You already have damage to kill squishy targets during middle game (if you are playing against at least two or three light champions). Your bot lane do already knows how much damage you can do, but the other lanes may not. When you are on little skirmishes you can afford two things: first, you could kill a fragile target with 50% HP as a surprise, secondly, you could not have enough damage to kill them, but if you can kick them from the fight scared after your poke you will "control" that target.

Late game Back to Top

Late game is the most volatile part of the game. I've lost tons of games already "won" because we did stupid engages understimating the respawn time during late: "Hey im Sona lets steal that baron from chogath, lee sin, kalista, leona and yasuo, kappa". If you get this far dont surrender no matter how bad your team is doing, this is the phase of the miracles.


On late game you HAVE TO
  • give vision
  • deny vision
  • stay alive
  • provide protection trough 3.pngsonacrescendo.pngsonaariaofperseverance.png2049.png
  • provide control on the baron area dont going too far away from there.
  • provide control on the dragon area dont going too far away from there.

Baron Nashor

If you can go for a tower + inhibitor, go for it, dont go baron.        

"Why?"        
             Okay, lets say you go baron and you do it, good! its freegold but that not means you are gonna take towers with it, maybe you will go for a siege you may lose on a bad engage, people who are facing a "baroned" team use play barricade mode until is off, it is and usuall reaction.

             Now on other universe yo go for inhibitor and go back to base, the winions spawns and they push the lane hard, on some moments they get to the towers and the enemy team divide itself. When a team has a lane pushed they may get confused about who should back: they are not that well organized for a split situation like they are for a baron situation.

Summary: An open inhibitor become a threath for a team FOR THE REST OF THE GAME. Baron advantage could be lost if you get aced, you lose the buff and you give the same gold the baron gives to you, the difference is that you are now all dead and they will make profits.

Elder dragon

Same as Baron but changing on rewards. Most of players are used to the toughness of Baron but understimate elder dragon. Why people discovers suddenly that dragon is doing too much damage and dying too slow? because they dont know or dont take consideration about the dragon slayer perk, remember it? you may not feel the difference on elemental drakes but its way different on elder.
  • All the dragons do +20% damage and recieve -7% damage for EVERY DRAGON A CHAMPION HAS SLAIN.
So, if you have three dragons, what is a reasonable example, he will do +60% damage and you will do -21% on him, not bad hm?
The result of this is that the team with the dragon advantage, who will recieve a better buff reward, needs a better position than the other to kill the dragon because its harder for them. The team who is behind can kill him easier even if they not have any elemental to get the gold, the base elder's buff and to deny the other the chance to get it.

Vision

You cant get trapped on disadvantage, and the way to avoid it is getting vision. Where do you need it depends on both teams compositions; some teams has a lot of AoE damage so they improve fighting on closed places; other teams has assasins so they try to catch champions off-guard and do the engage with numerical superiority; maybe they just have one or two massive cc's and they go together trying to engage you; or maybe they have a fiddlesticks and they just stay next to the walls until you dont expect him. 

So then, you want to have vision of:
  1. Both pits, baron and dragon.
  2. All enemy champions all the time. No one should flank you.
  3. Fighting areas so they wont be able to bait you on bushes.
Try to communicate with your team so they use 3363.png frequently, its really helpfull because they last forever unless they get destroyed, so you can get focused on warding another place.
THE MORE WARDS YOU HAVE THROUGH THE MAP, THE MORE EVERY SINGLE WARD WORTH.
That is so? Why? Think about this: when you put a ward he gives you information until he gets destroyed, even if no one goes over there, he is telling you that no one is over there. So every second he tells you that area is safe it worth a little indeterminated quantity: +1 ward point. But when a ward also tells you that an enemy is over there it gives you better information for all your team because all of them can play knowing that champion is there, that is even worthy no?: enemy spotted, +4 ward point. But not only that! a ward can tell you when a champion is waiting on a place to trap someone or when he enters on places you can catch him! Counter-trap and catching people over the map +5 ward points.
Taking these points as a guide, the more wards you have, the more chances they will give you profits. An only ward on the map wont tell you a lot of times anything but "no one is here", but having six will give you a lot of chances (but of course it depends also where do you put your wards!)

Keep you mana

Some fights on late game are long, long...long... so wasting your mana is a terrible thing. During teamfights you should spam sonahymnofvalor.pngsonaariaofperseverance.png but be careful on sonasongofdiscord.png, use this last one cleverly to help your teams with speed only when they need it, but dont spam it like the others because you can go out of mana very fast.

Be an assassin

If you did go for the full damage build and you have already 2301.png3020.png3145.png3136.png3100.png3135.png, maybe you can instakill someone. ADC is the main easy target, if he has your level or less and he has no extra MR or even only a basic 30 MR you can kill him instantly from 100% to 0% with sonacrescendo.png+sonahymnofvalor.png+auto. Check their mid carry too, you could kill him the same way unless he build an 3001.png. Support is another posibility if he is a mage and not a tank. The rest of their team will probably resist your burst with 100%, they usually have more MR, more HP and more survival items, but anyway if you can poke someone and halve his HP... cool!

Dont go to defend a lane push if some other can do it

You have no wave-clear so you are way more usefull by your team's side.

This is a general and personal opinion based on my games and observation.

I like to play with agressive laners with a lot of damage because thats the way to play this build and the way to get benefits through it. 

Tier 1 


They have a high chance to help you on succes

119.png If he is good enough to do all his potential damage (you can see that on match-up section) you will have a way to get a lot of kills. One of my favourites.

21.pngShe has another huge poke like you. You both can destroy them just by Qs, you can tell her to focus on that skill and try not to use senseless missfortunescattershot.png what is very frequent on fortunes. Sometimes i go duo queue with a friend and he takes mana regeneration glyphs and meditation mastery to be able to spam missfortunericochetshot.png all the time, its absolutely devastating. To be more focused on that playstyle he also has double edge sword (because i can heal him so he does not need sustain on lane) and.. sorcery! yes!he gets +2% damage on missfortunericochetshot.png missfortunebullettime.pngand well.. also missfortunescattershot.png.

202.pngNice damage when played well. Good roots combo with sonahymnofvalor.png+jhinW.png. Good executing targets at low HP after a good poke with jhinW.pngjhinR.png. He may be not with my two first options but i also love it <3.

22.png********** She has not the same damage as other ADCs, but once she is leve 6 you both have an incredible combo with asheR.png. The tricky thing is that... first: you have to be both level six so you dont have that early damage that i love; secondly, she can fail the arrow, fail the target or his support could be a tank who can disangage your try201.png89.png. For all this, i like this one situationally.

51.png********** Unless you are at least on middle gold or higher, she probably wont do the neccesary damage to be worth for a tier 1. But if she is good to caitlynentrapment.png+caitlynpiltoverpeacemaker.png+auto, cc+caitlynyordletrap.png+caitlynpiltoverpeacemaker.png+auto.. etc, you are gonna have a nice bro.....sis?

Tier 2


They are not bad at all, good ones will give you all you need, but the average player probably will make this harder.

236.pngHe has damage but most of them dont do it. The difference with 51.png is that he has less range so you have more risk on lane, thats the reason he is on tier 2 and not with her.

222.pngNot enough dps for her low mobility. 

429.pngShe could be perfectly on tier 1 because her HUGE damage, but if you are not on premade with communication her ultimatekalistaR.png could be too hard to coordinate

110.pngNot bad.. his ultimatevarusr.png is really good with yours and he can do a nice amount of damage and execute with varusq.png.. but on real experiences they didnt too good. 110.png good players are a rare thing to find.

67.png****** Enough damage if she does well, and thanks to her lak of skillshots, as long as you support her with survivality she could be a monster with a few kills.

15.png A quiet mate. Her best gameplay comes from minion's gold, push, and deny minions. Cover your lane, ward if she play this way and try to bully them without getting greedy.

For one reason or another, i prefer not to see them on my lane...

Yesss.... but thats with the "normal" version of her. For my version he has loooow damage and hes too weak also. When they pick this one i evaluate their team to think about changing to the healing keystone and play as a "normal" 37.png

18.pngI dont have good experiences with her. Her damage requires a good engage better from a tank89.png201.png. I think she need another kind of support to synergize

29.pngCould be good but i think you should be premade to play this. Your could assasinate a lot of off-guard people with your poke-burst and his twitchQ.png, but as i said, if you are not on premade it wont probably work well enough. Also, he needs more a tank on late game to cover his pentas.

  • All melee champions improve their magic resistance with leveling BUT 157.png, ranged champions have the same magic resistance all levels. This is a way to calculate how many easy targets you will have. 

  • Herald of the rift has an eye on his back, if you hit him from there while it's opened, the herald will lose 12% of maximum health and will close it. This can be done once every 3-4 seconds.

  • Try to take some hits from the Baron if you go for a rush, Baron Nashor reduce the damage that recieve from the last champions HE has attacked by 50% (No... yi... do not tank baron...)

  • Drake does +20% damage and recieve -7% damage for every drake the target has slain. Stackeable.

  • Turrets has two differents reward when destroyed: a global constant for every champion on that team and a situational for those who are next to the demolition. While the global constant is guaranteed for all, the situational reward is a fixed amount that will be divided between the champions at the tower. This means that if there are only one champion on it he will recieve all the local reward just for him, two champions will divide by two the quantity BUT IF NO ONE IS NEXT TO THE TOWER THE LOCAL REWARD IS LOST.

Here i share some concepts while playing soloQ

Everything is your fault

  :D Yes! You did read well. What this means? On soloQ a lot of things are out of your control and you cant do anything to avoid some losses. People always blame each other when something goes wrong, but what did you get with that? just self-love <3. If you want to improve you have to take responsability from mistakes.
Examples:
"Oh god why every time i go back to buy my ADC die... fu**** noobs... can i have a good ADC? rito pls"
Negative lecture: "I have bad luck with my ADC, fuck off"
Positive lecture: "Ok.. its seems that i should back with him instead of letting him alone"   

"Another gank? jungler noob minute 6 zero ganks and he is camping bot"
Negative lecture: "All the junglers on this world have a whatsapp group to coordinate against me"
Positive lecture: "Maybe im pushing too much while poking... ok i should try not to do that and that thing about wave clearing to reset the lane so it will be again on the middle"

Trial and error! if a negative situation is happening too often think about what can you do to change it.
ANY SITUATION! "but what can i do if middle lane is bad??????" Roam! it is just an example! you can change your gameplay for every f**** situation in this game! Adapt! Survive!

Shit happens

Even if you did all on your mortal hands....Shit happens! someone could go afk, someone could have lag (even you!) and you cant do nothing to avoid EVERYTHING! Dont get mad! Do you think why it looks sometimes that you have more "trolls"  and more "toxic" people? Because you cant read enemy's chat. Sometimes the only thing you see after a game in wich they have been fighting each other all the time is a simple: bg. Your are not on god's peephole.

Mute

  • Dont argue with mad people, rather, DONT ARGUE WITH PEOPLE. You really think that he is going to say "oh! it is true! im wrong all the time forgive me!:D" no, they will keep going and going and going. Mute its a helpful tool to avoid you distractions.
  • You can mute your team too if your are doing a bad game and you want to focus. Its better for you not to read trash comments.
  • "I hate that guy spamming ctr+4 all the time" Mute! it works on emotes too.
  • The best thing (most of times) about mute is that you still see pings.

Have fun

It is a lot easier to win games and climb having fun. Is a mainstream tip for something. If you enjoy a champion you have more chances to play it better with practice.
If you have a headache, you are on a lose streak or something what makes you play like a zombie, disconnect for a time.
Getting angry decrease you chance to learn about your mistakes and makes harder to focus on the game

How many times did you see a champion on other lane getting blamed for taking creeps? Or how many times two did you see two allies fighting for the same blue? If you want to win its better to be kind than a jerk. 
If someone take just some creeps from your lane dont insult him instantly, dont say anything or do it but being nice. If he answer on a bad mood just mut him and ignore those little things, you are not going to lose for that creep.
Same goes for blue buff. Dont "take" it without asking, if he says no respect him. 
         
To share is a good rule, but if you have to take a blue before a 1/14/0 mid do it and mute him if he blames


Ganking

Never expect what you cant control. Long time ago i used to blame junglers for not to gank. Eventually i learned that it was better to play seeing ganks as a rare gift and not as a needed constant, soloQ is SOLO and anything but you is guaranteed.


Avoiding skills

Aim is relative to every champion, but avoiding capacity goes with you with every one.
Some people are better at this than other, but... what helps to improve this? a little anecdote

              "Once i was on ranked with a frind as a support, he was the ADC. My friend was 236.png and they 
had a 53.png. We were losing the lane because my friend was getting grabbedrocketgrab.png too often so i told him: 
He answered lucianE.png is on CD!> i was surprised reply lucianE.png>

What can we learn about this? Some people dont learn to avoid skills better because they use to play a champion with a dash/gap closer or even high speed like 21.png40.png. When you play a lot an inmobile champion like 1.png you have to learn to avoid and positionate, because if you dont, you are dead. 

Skills borns from needs:
  • If you want to improve avoiding skills, take an inmobile champion so if you dont you die.
  • If you want to improve invade skills, take a good invader so you can learn first the basics to apply them on other champions
  • If you want to lasthit go to a custome game and look if you are able to do at least 100 minions at minute 11.

No mercy

If you get to the lane and the enemy ADC is not there, what do you do? I take the advantage, i feel sorry for them but when you are there they 90% will crush you. So, when i have "lucky" with that i take it and if im the one with bad luck i feel ok because sometimes its you, and sometimes me ^^
