What does her Abilities do?

Sona's sonapassive.png After using 3 spells, Sona's  next attack deals bonus magic damage in addition to a bonus effect depending on what ability was used last, you can change the effect even if its stacked. sonaq.png effect will deal extra magic damage. sonaw.png effect will reduce the targets damage they deal, use it when in skirmish's or saving a teammate. sonae.png effect will slow a target, this is good if you are chasing someone down or even preparing for a gank.


 sonaq.png deals damage to 2 enemy targets, it will target champions over minions if they are in range of this ability, good for poking.



sonaw.png restores health to herself and a nearby allied teammate, it will prioritize the most injured player, in addition, allied players who stand in your aura get a bubble.



sonae.pngGrants Sona movement speed and allied players you are in the aura movement speed too.



sonar.png is the game changer in teamfights, stuns all enemy players and also does magic damage. in addition to this ability its passive  reduces the base cooldown of Sona's abilities  by 10/25/40%


Why W over Q?



Your sonaw.png has great sustain and is extremely powerful early game, your mastery Windspeaker's Blessing and Runic Armor makes it super strong, your ADC should be doing most of the damage, this will also help you get out of sticky situations making it less likely for you to die if you get caught.

Your sonaq.png aura does enough damage even with 1 point in it, the enemy wont suspect you to have strong heals so you are kind of baiting them when you Skirmish

    Standard start
    if you prefer the pot this is also fine
    coin is a viable start if you wish to go passive against a hard lane, even to pick up quick gold to get your items faster

Core Items

    For that early CDR and 20% heals and shields from mikeals to get out of sticky situations or to save your team
    start working towards these items
    get these when you hit capped CDR, extra movement speed and slowing effects reduced by 25%, pretty good

Situational Items

    if you are vsing a full AD team your build will look something like this
    you can take randuins if you prefer that against a full AD team
    If you're vsing a Full AP team or AP heavy your build should look something like this

You want to focus on famring and poking, remain passive since you are so squishy, be behind minions and next to your adc

During anytime of the laning phase you go back and get a 2049.png and 2055.png be sure to control vision on the river and lane to prevent those nasty ganks

So now either the enemy team's tower is gone or yours its time for you to roam and control the map with vision and help your team out.

Keep control of vision on Dragon and remember to use 3364.png when you can to clear out enemy vision, this is where you start taking objective from the enemy, dragon or towers for that global gold

Keep in mind to ward rift herald when you can

Now you and your team are grouping and now you are either pushing or defending your base, still keep vision on the map even if you cant get out the base, just put a ward outside the base and keep a pink ward in your base to prevent vision from the enemy team, it will keep your team from flaming you for no reason 3070.png

Keep vision on baron at all times and remember to use your 3364.png whenever you can to stop vision

During teamfights you want to focus on keeping your ADC safe, most fo the time there are champions that will jump the back line to prepare, use sonar.png3190.png instantly when that jump your ADC and 3222.pngto stop those chain stuns and knock ups and follow it up with 3107.png by the time this goes off the enemies abilities are on CD, usually your team is still alive by this point
