Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png
Must bring with Soraka because of her limited mobility.

14.png
Usually what I bring to secure kills with ease. Must bring against health regen champions like 106.png.

7.png
Bring heal against champions like Zed, Yasuo, Diana, etc. but usually not necessary because of your ult.

12.png
Bring teleport if going top lane, or if you think you will have a lane which will make you run out of mana/health fast. This way you can back to base and tele back into lane.

Masteries Back to Top

Ferocity Tree:

Sorcery: More AP, more damage.

Double Edged Sword: As Soraka, you'll be hitting champions from afar so you won't be that afraid of taking damage back. If you're scared of the 2% hostile damage increase, go feast instead.

Vampirism: This will increase Soraka's already potent sustain.

Opressor: This is especially strong once you get 3116.png, because of its slow.

Cunning Tree:

Savagery: Soraka's attack animation is difficult to last hit with, so this will make it easier.

Secret Stash: More sustain. This is not actually needed against a lot of champions and you could go Assassin if you want, for more lane pressure.

Meditation: Soraka will be spamming spells. This will help delay that moment when you're out of mana.

Dangerous Game: Vital in ganks when you're low on health and/or mana. If you kill one of the enemies that could give you the boost out of the gank.

Precision: For late game magic pen.

Thunderlords: It's very easy to proc thunderlords, especially at low elos where people don't try to dodge some skillshots in exchange for CS. Just E-Q, that should proc thunderlords. If the enemy laner walks out of the E before thunderlords happens, just AA them once.

TL; DR:

Max Q>E>W>R, or alternatively E>Q>W>R.
Use Q as a zoning/harass tool. Use it to escape as well.
Use W to help gankers.
Use E to CC enemies, or to silence gankers, or to proc thunderlords.
Use R to heal anyone, including yourself, if you're low on health and in a sticky situation.

In-Depth:

sorakapassive.png Passive: Salvation

Soraka gains 70% bonus movement speed when moving towards allied champions below 40% of their maximum health.

Despite having a cast time, none of Soraka's abilities cancel her movement or previous orders.

This is next to useless in laning. However, in teamfights, this will increase your mobility.

starcall.pngQ: Starcall

ACTIVE: Soraka calls down a star at the target area which lands after a 0.25 - 1-second delay, increasing with the location's distance from her, dealing magic damage to all enemies it hits, Slow icon slowing them by 30% for 2 seconds and granting her Rejuvenation for 4 seconds if she strikes at least one enemy champion.

  • MAGIC DAMAGE: 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+ 35% AP)

While Rejuvenation is in effect, Soraka heals herself every half-second, gains 10% bonus movement speed when not moving towards enemy champions, and replicates the effects for a limited duration on targets healed with Astral Infusion.png Astral Infusion.

「 HEAL PER HALF SECOND: 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 / 11 (+ 5% AP) 」

「 ALLIED REJUVENATION DURATION: 3 / 3.5 / 4 / 4.5 / 5 」

This is Soraka's main damaging ability. Use this is every situation - to harass your lane opponent, to zone them, etc. When you are being ganked, constantly spam Starcall right behind you, so when  your enemies get hit, you get your small speed boost and some health back. If they keep chasing you, eventually, you can probably get a kill or two. This also scales with AP.

astralblessing.pngW: Astral Infusion

ACTIVE: Soraka heals the target ally champion.

  • HEAL: 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 (+ 60% AP)

Astral Infusion cannot be self-cast, nor can it be cast if Soraka is below 5% maximum health.

This ability is next to useless in laning. However, if your jungler is planning to gank your lane a few times, consider picking Astral Infusion up early to heal them in the ganks. This ability scales extremely well with AP.

infuse.pngE: Equinox

ACTIVE: Soraka deals magic damage to all enemy champions in an area and creates a zone within that Silence icon silences enemy champions standing on it.

「 MAGIC DAMAGE: 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+ 40% AP) 」

After 1.5 seconds the zone detonates, dealing the same magic damage to all enemy champions within and briefly Root icon rooting them.

  • ROOT DURATION: 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2

Oooooh boy. This spell will give your enemy laner nightmares. Not only is it an AoE silence, with 3116.png it will slow, and if enemy champions stay within the silence for 1.5 seconds, it will root them for up to two seconds! A silence, slow, and snare all in one, and best of all, it also does damage. What more could you ask for? An easy thunderlords proc? It gives that too. How could it get any better? 40% AP scaling, that's what. Use E to CC enemies, or to silence gankers, or to proc thunderlords.

You could max this first if you... "wish".

wish.pngR: Wish

ACTIVE: Soraka calls upon the stars, healing all allied champions, including untargetable allies, and herself.

「 HEAL: 150 / 250 / 350 (+ 55% AP) 」

Wish's healing is increased by 50% on targets below 40% of their maximum health.

A global heal which scales with AP. Use your ultimate to get yourself out of messy situations - don't be afraid to prioritize yourself! You're not the support, you're trying to carry/get some damage in teamfights. However, if you do see your ally in a tight spot, don't be afraid to use your ultimate.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Safest start.
    Don't need pots?
    Snowball.
    Alternative.
    Risky start.

Core Items

    Rush almost every game.
Get this before Rylai's if against Kha'zix, Zed, Diana, etc.
    Example core build.

Situational Items

Against health regen champions like Vladimir or Volibear.
If you started with dark seal/certain of snowball. Very risky.
    For late game magic pen.
Guardian Angel for insane unexpected burst like Rengar, Khazix, or Veigar. This item is extremely defensive and I wouldn't recommend.

Itemization

Starting Items

Usually/always, you want to start with 1056.png for the mana regen ap, obviously. 1082.png could work as well.
The unique thing about Soraka is potions are not essential. Since you are very long ranged and have a silence (E) plus a self-healing ability (Q), you don't have to get potions. That doesn't mean she is still good without potions, however. I would reccomend picking up the standard start for AP champions (1056.pngand2003.pngx2). If you don't go with potions, bring a 2043.png or 1006.png.

Core

3116.png is essential because of its slow, making it MUCH easier to land your E-Q-AA combo. It also makes you less squishy than your opponents expect you to be.

3157.pngRengar? Kha'zix? Veigar? Zed? Press one button and their burst is negated.

3026.pngCheaper zhonya's but would not reccomend - gives no AP and zhonya's is less risky, IMO.

3135.png3001.png Magic pen. If you're not doing any damage and see that they have MR items, buy these.

3041.png If you're certain that you're going to snowball or if you started with dark seal, get this. It's not safe though, try to be certain before getting this.
