Summoner Spells Back to Top

Flash is the best summoner spell, and without smite you cannot go jungle with this champion. Ghost may be viable if you are building tanky, but flash is still the best in most matchups.

Your ult is quite powerful, and might be one of the best ultimates in the game. Constantly look on your map after level 6, and try to be at about 70% hp or less to get to use your ult yourself as well to maximize its affect. A good premade that can save you while they gank your lane is quite benefitial as you are very weak before your full jungle item.

Masteries Back to Top

I would suggest taking thunderlords as it is quite strong compared to theĀ  other spells. The path is quite benefitial to Soraka, and Thunderlords gives you the small extra damage you need to kill your opponents.

Winspeakers blessing is also quite good if you prefer supporting your team instead of killing your enemies. But if you wanted to heal people you should take sona support instead: Which is a bit better imo, but less fun.

As her only damaging spell is her Q, I would advise you to max this quite early. E is good to cancel the level 2 and level 3 invade that will probably steal your red.

You should max your E quiteearly for the extra damage, or max your W for the extra healing, even though I feel like it is a useless spell.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Pretty standard items for mages.

Core Items

First back get Hunters machete and preferably finish the jungle item and then focus on getting boots and some mana regen or raw ap.
On this build the core items arent as standard as the other ones, but most AP items synergize with this build.
Choose whether you want Grail or Redemption depending if they have AP (Grail) or AD (Redemption). If you are in doubt you should take Grail as its passive is quite easy to benefit from, while Redemption is more benefitial in higher elo as the players get better to use it for disengages.
Priority list: Tabis for better sustain in the jungle and vs AD matchups. Lucidity boots for the 45% (YOU NEED 45% EVERY GAME TO SPAM ULTIMATE) Merc threads vs heavy AP matchups. Sorcerers boots if you are ahead by a lot.

Situational Items

All heavy AP items are benefitial. Get 45% cdr and then get a mix of AP and health.
Actually this item combined with attack speed boots is really strong to clear like a real jungler. The damage isnt bad either.

Start on blue buff. Do it smiteless and then go to gromp as its damage falls off the more you fight with it. Smite the gromp and use both potion charges. Then move over to the wolves as the small ones are needed for Hunters machete. The large wolf is killable if you got a good pull, but I have yet to get a good enough pull (Suckers in low plat elo only got Blue to 800hp before they left even though I asked for good pull) If you get blue to around 300hp before they leave: You can do the big wolf safely as well.

Go straight to raptors and kite them into the bush while you hit all of them with your Q which is now level 2. Use both of your potions as you will die to Red if you dont.
Then move on to red. Smite it and kite it as much as possible and move on to crugs. Crugs are weak and you should be able to either kill them now, or use blasting cone to get to the honeycomb plant. Kill the neutral in the river if you want the levelup as well as vision and the chance to steal their Blue buff. Now walk back up to crugs (You should be at 100% hp now) and do them.

Buy Stalkers blade for the gank potential botside. Boots and mana regen thereafter. If you have enough you should get some AP, either by Dark seal or a regular amplifying tome. Do a botside clear to get level 6. If botside is winning, take drake. Then either go mid to try to get some CS midlane on your way to top.

Why pick Soraka jungle? Back to Top

Imagine the best jungler in high elo: Ivern. Now what is the most similar champion to Ivern? Soraka. Imagine just that as you will probably feed your ass off in low elo games while you should have played Ivern instead.

Soraka is bad at jungle, like really bad at jungle. I would rank her maybe the 140th worst jungler in LoL as she just got 1 spell that works at the jungle camps (2 with ult). But just imagine the enemy team as you fuck them over with Soraka. Going for perfect clears and still struggeling to come by just makes the lategame so much more fun.

As a Sona otp I have been quite familiar with mages at every position. Sona top/mid/jgl/apc/supp works pretty damn good if you have a decent matchup or good "mechanics". Soraka is just my way to take that to a completely other level. Your autos does so little damage you have to plan every ability and animation and perfect the skips and the kite to even survive a single camp.

Soraka jungle is more of a challenge than an actual build, but I would like to try it out in Flex (high platinum) and see how much winrate I can squeeze out of her. In low elo anything works though. As long as you dont give up after dying to their jungler, the sheer punishment of the games WILL make you a better jungler. I was before a quite bad jungler, even with the borderline op champions. After doing this some games I will conclude that I might actually finally understand the camps and their clear techniques. (You can kill red and blue with only taking 5 autos in stead of 12: Which is a LOT) With good placement you can also take 75% damage from raptors and shy of half damage from crugs.

Tl;dr, WHY NOT?
