Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png3.png - This is a safe choice for support, if you're going against a Marksman with high burst, attack speed, escape and/or rely mostly on auto attacks like, 15_64.png18_64.png51_64.png67_64.png81_64.png104_64.png119_64.png222_64.png29_64.png then you should consider exhaust. You should also look for champions in the enemy mid/top to take exhaust for. Champions like, 11_64.png23_64.png24_64.png35_64.png92_64.png107_64.png157_64.png all have high attack speed/burst for AD. Going against supports with high CC such as,1_64.png9_64.png53_64.png117_64.png267_64.png412_64.png can help with evening out cc with trades and all-ins. You can also use exhaust as a peel, tops/junglers like, 27_64.png56_64.png58_64.png59_64.png60_64.png62_64.png64_64.png75_64.png80_64.png102_64.png266_64.png131_64.png that can easily dive onto your carries. Using exhaust can make it harder for enemy champions to reach your AD!

4.png14.png - This is an aggressive choice for support, if you're lanning with a Marksman with high burst such as, 15_64.png18_64.png29_64.png67_64.png119_64.png104_64.png21_64.png222_64.pngor a marksman with low damage that might need a little push such as, 51_64.png22_64.png81.png this would be my choice. You should also choose ignite if you're lanning against a support with high damage output like, 1_64.png9_64.png25_64.png26_64.png53_64.png37_64.png76_64.png99_64.png so you even out trades and all-ins. You should also look to grab exhaust if there's a 16.png36_64.png50_64.png106_64.png48.png because of their health regen.

Masteries Back to Top

Ferocity (Left Row):

Basically the right lane is the right lane for AP.

Row 1 Sorcery: AP > AS

Row 2 Expose Weakness: Great for damage oriented supports, damage you deal will cause the targeted enemy champion to take 3% more damage from your ally champions.

Row 3 Natural Talent: AD/AP > LS/SV

Row 4 Oppressor: Since you have both a slow and a stun and usually only see 2 people for a majority of the first half of the game, taking Opressor over Bounter Hunter is very beneficial.

Cunning (Middle Row):

Row 1 Wanderer: Savagery is generally towards last hitting, which you will be doing none of. Taking Wanderer will benefit you in dodging skill shots and roaming.

Row 2 Secret Stash: Secret Stash is the only mastery that makes sense for you will almost never be in lane alone, and you won't be grabbing buffs.

Row 3 Merciless: I chose Merciless over Meditation because although you will go oom often as Syndra support, the 5% damage increase to champions under 40% health is very beneficial with your ult's burst.

Row 4 Bandit: Taking Bandit over Dangerous Game will help your gold income significantly and will benefit your early game. Dangerous Game is a good mid to late game mastery that will benefit you after laning phase, so taking it is not a bad choice.

Row 5 Precision: Although CDR is beneficial on your ult's CD, magic pen is more valuable and you should choose Precision.

Row 6 Thunderlord's Decree (Keystone): Taking Thunderlord's Decree makes it so you can easily harass the enemy marksman/support through Q's weaved with autos. For example, level one you'll want to Q, auto, and Q again, this will activate TD for easy burst damage and harass, making it so you can take a huge advantage over the lane.

Starting Q is the best option for level one, it has a low CD and her other abilities pretty much solely rely on it. You can also start W for slow if you think you'll be chasing level one, but you won't have Q so you'll have to grab a minon. Always max Q first then E secondly for the AOE damage. Maxing both these abilities will apply Syndra's passive, Transcendent, which gives an additional effect to abilities that reach the max rank. Maxing Q makes it deal more damage, maxing W increases the slow duration and maxing E makes the stun/knock back effect 50% wider. With this, maxing E not only gives increase AOE damage with the scaling but also increases the width of the effect.

Situational Items

If you're having trouble living in teamfights
    Against MR
If you're going against a lot of CC
    If you need more engage.

On your first back you should buy either an upgraded 3098_32.pngor a 1028_32.png. Which ever you decide do the opposite on the next back, or buy both if you're funded. You build the 1028_32.pnginto 2049_32.png. You can also weave 1076_32.png for extra AP and health (although I rarely do this). After your 3098_32.png or 2049_32.pngyou should get 3108_32.png. After this depending on your funds and/or if there's a lot of magic damage you should choose between second itemizing 1058_32.png to build  3285.png or  3092_32.png, but you'll end up buying all. If there's no magic damage on the team you can turn your 3108_32.png into a3165_32.png3165_32.png is a very good item for stopping health regen like Mundo, Soraka and Swain. It's also very effective for ADC life steal. After that you can choose between 3135_32.png,3157_32.png,3089_32.png, depending on the situation.

VS

Alistar

Medium

Since Alistar doesn't have much play anymore you won't see him that often. You can easily harass him for being a melee champ and punish him if he goes on your AD. Nonetheless, his engage pretty hard to disengage. His ultimate can make him take little damage making your burst next to nothing, if you choose to focus him. He can also easily push you out of the fight and knock up your AD, making your Q E out of range. Other than that your harass and burst should be okay during lanning phase and his heal isn't much for sustain.

VS

Annie

Medium

Annie is pretty hard to lane against, her auto attack range is very far making it easy for her to harass you. She has lower CD's early on but after CDR you should be okay. Your stuns will be up around the same time, if not your's will be sooner, depending on each other's level. Both your AoE stuns are pretty difficult to set up, but over all your's will be stronger. Your level 6 burst both level up to be very close to the same.

VS

Ashe

Easy

Ashe is an immobile champ and she won't be able to dodge your combos with ease. Since this is an easy matchup, all you really have to look out for is her level 6.

VS

Blitzcrank

Hard

Be careful for pulls and make sure to buy sight stone early for lane bushes and health. He is very naturally tanky compared to you. You can either play very aggressively or very passively, depending on your ADC. But remember you have a lot of disengage so you shouldn't be too scared. His level 6 can silence you in melee range preventing good plays from you, so be careful about that also!

VS

Braum

Hard

His stun and health makes him almost near impossible to burst, and his shield is very tedious and can block next to all your abilities when up.

VS

Caitlyn

Medium

Her range is very long making it pretty hard to harass, but if she focuses on CS and doesn't punish you for getting close feel free to poke a lot. Your Q E can out range her, making easy kills for your ADC.

VS

Corki

Easy

He has a huge disengage so make sure to time your Q E well so your AD can follow up on engage and kill him before he escapes. Other than that Corki has short range making him easily to combo.

VS

Draven

Easy

Since he has little escape you can harass him throughout lane and easily land a stun. Be careful for level 2 burst and level 6 burst.

VS

Ezreal

Medium

Ezreal has a lot of escape on a low cool down, he also has good poke. If he uses this poke inlane to CS try to punish him by harassing with Q's and autos. Be careful for level 6 burst.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Medium

Fiddlesticks can be extremely annoying, his constant poke AND silence can make it hard to trade. His fear can also last for years. Try and punish him and his ADC early so he doesn't get too much harass. Be VERY careful for his level 6, ward everywhere, especially over both tri bush walls. Never underestimate the power of the scout's co--- fiddle's damage!

VS

Graves

Medium

Graves can dodge Q E very well and has a lot of poke to take you out of lane. Just try and position yourself and catch him off guard. Be careful for level 6 burst.

VS

Janna

Easy

You can easily punish Janna in lane. Try and poke around her shield but be careful of her disengage with knock ups and ultimate.

VS

Jinx

Medium

Jinx has no escape and next to no CC, making it very easy to put her down. The only thing that would make this match up difficult is her rocket AA range. Be careful of poke and level 6 burst.

VS

Kalista

Hard

Kalista's jumps on every auto attack make it hard for you to predict where to throw q's so be cautious of this match up. The advice I can give you, though, is to throw out your W with a minion or Q to make landing abilities easier.

VS

Karma

Medium

Karma has a lot of damage/poke, and if she happens to place her w on you, just step back and wait for it to go off. Try and shut her down early and be careful for her burst.

VS

Kog'Maw

Easy

Kog'Maw has barely any cc and his range without q is poor. Punish him early and harass when he CS's. He has no gap closers so he is easy to harass.

VS

Leona

Hard

Her CC and tankyness make it extremely hard to burst down and get away from. Consider a farming lane for this one. Only use stun for gank/disengage or if you catch the ADC out of position. You can also try and punish her early on but it's very high risk high reward kind of deal. Since you both don't do much until level 2 this is very risky.

VS

Lucian

Medium

His escape with e negates your slow making him slippery than others. All around his burst and over all damage make this matchup pretty difficult.

VS

Lulu

Medium

She has a lot of CC but little damage, so it should be too hard. Between CC'ing or CC'ing your ADC you'll probably come out ontop. You don't really have to worry about her ult unless you're planning on bursting her or her ADC level 6, which might prevent the kill.

VS

Lux

Medium

If she builds damage, her CC and AP ratios are higher than your's and over-all you'll probably lose trades. Her poke is strong but it should be pretty close between her E and your Q, just try and play dominate and watch out for Q's and ganks.

VS

Miss Fortune

Easy

Miss Fortune has little escape and minimal damage early game so you should take this to your advantage. With her low attack range it will be easy to harass. Be careful of her level 6 burst.

VS

Morgana

Hard

Morgana has a lot of disengage and CC at 6. Her spell shield makes it hard to burst. Punish her early and make sure to ward bushes. It will be easy to poke her and her AD behind minions without her being able to do much. Care for 6 and ganks.

VS

Nami

Medium

Nami has a lot of sustain and her disengage can be hard to land but can also be fatal. Her E can also give the ADC a lot of harass. Be careful for her E, try not to poke a lot when she uses it. Careful for her Q and level 6.

VS

Quinn

Easy

Quinn's disengage makes her get close to melee range, making it easy to land an Q E stun.

VS

Sona

Medium

Sona's sustain is very hard to beat and will probably force you out of lane a lot. When built with AP her damage can also scale well so make sure to buy health and maybe an early 3028.png. Try and punish her by out ranging her.

VS

Soraka

Hard

Soraka's heal can be a huge save and very hard to harass in lane. Building an early mana crystal will help trying to poke around it. Since they changed her passive you don't have to worry about her magic resist, but almost always take ignite.

VS

Tahm Kench

Hard

Lanning against Tahm is pretty difficult, his harass with Q and added slow makes it hard to harass the enemy and his W can put you in uncomfortable situations.

VS

Taric

Easy

Since you're magic damage you can easily harass a taric down, since his whole makeup and itemization revolves around armor. His increased health scaling can make this difficult, however.

VS

Thresh

Hard

His CC is very hard to play against and he has a high damage rate for an AD support. Try and play around his lantern and use Q E combo when it's on cool down so ADC will be forced to flash while in-danger. Make sure to avoid hook as much as you can!

VS

Tristana

Medium

Tristana has a huge disengage range and late game huge AA range. When she is low leveled she has very low AA range, punish her for this. Harass her when she's focusing on CS with her E, so when the creeps are low try throwing a Q out and she might be too focused to react. Be careful for E harass and ult disengage

VS

Twitch

Medium

Twitch's stealth can be very hard to play against, a very hard disengage. His poison can be a huge harass against you so be careful. Try and get him pre 6, but don't underestimate his damage.

VS

Urgot

Easy

Urgot has poke and his ult can be misleading. Since he's barely played and he falls off late game you shouldn't worry about this match up that much.

VS

Varus

Medium

Varus has long ranged poke with his Q so try and harass around it so he doesn't end up Q'ing you while you disengage from poke, making the trade even/ not in your favor. Be careful for his level 6 disengage.

VS

Vayne

Medium

Vayne has high damage and can easily E you against a wall or disengage with it. The low CD on her Q allows her to easily dodge your Q for harass. Try and punish her pre level 6 when she gets a high damage boost.

VS

Zyra

Medium

Zyra has a lot of CC and can make it very hard to engage on. Try and harass her ADC instead of her, unless she out of position. Be careful for her level 6 and her plants, they got a damage boost a few patches ago.

Combos Back to Top

Basic Combo 1:
Here I used to basic Q then E combo. You can also do this from a further distance.
CZGKyCM.gif
Basic Combo 2:
Here I used q, then grabbed my sphere with W and dropped it on Graves then E'd for the stun. This combo is used for further distance and it can also make it easier to land the stun with the implemented slow the W causes.
79scvB8.gif
Ult Combo:
Here I used the previous combo and added another q, making it so my ult would have 5 spheres for maximum burst.

Warding Back to Top

Early Game Warding:

Yellow = Trinket
Green = Sightstone
Pink = Vision Ward
For the first early levels of lanning, you'll want to place your trinket in the side bushes of your lane to implement vision of the enemy support. You'll also want to place your trinkets in the enemy/ally tri bush and the river bush.
Once you get a sightstone you'll be able to place more wards frequently. Continue to ward your/enemy tri bush, the river bush and dragon. Keeping up pinks is also very important, and there's a number of places you can place your pink. The bush behind dragon, to the side of dragon and the on parallel to that are great places to put pinks for dragon control. You can also place pinks in the river bush closest to bot lane, and the river tri bush. These will set your jungler up for ganks in your lane.
Aoh7UWz.png

Late/Mid Game Warding:
Green = Sightstone
Pink = Vision Ward
The following picture includes places you might find valuable to ward during the mid/late game. Constant wards on Baron/Rift and Dragon should be your main priority, you should hold onto your third ward for situation vision during a teamfight.
