Summoner Spells Back to Top

14.png - Obvious reasons, to secure kills and helps against a comp that has a healer.

4.png - For escapes and flashy plays.

7.png - Heal is now pretty good, despite it being nerfed/buffed/nerfed. 134_64.png doesn't really need ignite to secure since she has a lot of burst if you play it right!



3.png - You can take this if you're against an AD Bruiser (91_icon_64.png80_icon_64.png64_icon_64.png121_icon_64.png or for 55_icon_64.png); if you don't feel like you'll win lane.


21.png - If you're against a high burst champion like 45_icon_64.png7_icon_64.png121_64.png238_64.png92_64.png etc. If you don't feel like you'll be able to live through that, get barrier.

Masteries are mostly based on personal preference, but this is the route I've decided on for Syndra. 


 - This is really up to you, You'll do more damage but just be careful since you'll take more also.

The rest is usually what are recommended for an AP page, you can consider taking Butcher into Feast if you need the health/mana back from creep kills and easy csing.

 Dark Sphere : Deals 15% Bonus Damage to Champions.

Knocks enemies and spheres back, dealing damage. 20px-Dark_Sphere.jpg Dark Spheres that are knocked back from this ability stuns all enemies in their path for 1.5 seconds. (Take note of the missile speed, 2500 is pretty fast so if played right it's hard to dodge.

Depending on your CDR you can have 2-3 20px-Dark_Sphere.jpg Dark Spheres on the ground, 3 Orbiting around 20px-SyndraSquare.png Syndra and that's 6 20px-Dark_Sphere.jpg Dark Spheres when you ult someone. Use 3128_32.png before all this and the damage will be substantial...If they let you that is!

** You can do 6 Sphere 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power at 0% CDR. 7 Sphere Ultimates at 35-40% CDR. **

DAMAGE PER SPHERE: 90 / 135 / 180 (+ 20% AP)

Situational Items

    Seekers for early Zhonyas against AD
    If you ever go syndra support! Amulet Coin if you just want to rack up on more gold.
    Double Morellos give good base stats, but expensive. I would rather build other items but since Athene's got nerfed this can be an option :)

There are many different ways to build Syndra, mine is obviously different from most people so I'll go into more detail. For the builds above that's just typical normal builds; follow that if you don't want to read my explanations; you should know what items to get for the rest of your build, depending on the situations.



**For the Tier 3 boots, 3257_32.png is what I personally use because I use my basic attacks a lot. But you can use 3259_32.png if you want to have a little movement speed boost the whole time instead of relying on your auto attacks and spells, or 3258_32.png for lower cooldown on your 4.png or 3255_32.png if you're losing and need the constant replenishment after recalling.**


Situational Items:


3116_32.png - If they have champions like 27_icon_64.png24_icon_64.png39_icon_64.png122_icon_64.png83_icon_64.png, etc. to effectively kite them.

3135_32.png - If your enemy has over 100+ MR, use this to still maintain your high damage.

3190_32.png - This is actually a pretty good but situational. It's really good for hard burst or if you're getting locked down early in the fight. If you have this item and the upgraded 3040_32.png, you can have a barrier that can absorb up to 755 damage (Seraph's around 525, Locket around 235 at level 18), plus you get 400 Health, 35 Armor, 10% CDR, and 10 Health Regen per 5 for basically +1155 Health. If you do get this item get it middle game after you finished one of your core items.

3157_32.png - For any champion with a high burst potential (7_icon_64.png91_icon_64.png45_icon_64.png etc.)

3026_32.png - If their bruiser is pretty fed and is killing you in teamfights.

3102_32.png - Against champions with high single target spells/CC (45_icon_64.png53_icon_64.png54_icon_64.png89_icon_64.png1_icon_64.png7_icon_64.png etc.)

3165_32.png - Super effective against Champions like 50_icon_64.png36_icon_64.png8_icon_64.png. You can substitute this for 3174_32.png since many people think having a Grail and a Tear is useless.

3128_32.png - If you want to see someone go from 100-0 from tons of balls. You don't HAVE to always go this item, Syndra can burst someone alone without DFG, but it makes your life easier.

3303_32.png3301_32.png3302_32.png - Items to consider starting as 20px-SyndraSquare.png Syndra Support. Since the slight nerf on relic shield you can consider going another route as it will give you extra gold.

Seraphs.png        athene's new.png

Both items are situational, I usually build the  Tear of the Goddess --> 20px-Seraph%27s_Embrace_item.png Seraph's Embrace Route. 
  • When you get 20px-Seraph%27s_Embrace_item.png Seraph's Embrace you'll have around 2000 Mana, that's 60 additional Ability Power for 120 AP. 
  • The shield also helps if you're taking some heavy damage or you need a safe shield at the start of any team fight.
  • Ability to constantly harass your opponent in lane with a bigger mana pool, by the time you're out of mana your opponent will probably be back buying at the shop, or dead.
  • The 15% CDR helps you with putting out more spells in lane.
  • Having  3108_32.png as an early build really helps with your early game.
  • Helps against High Burst AP Champions for early game.
  • You have a lower mana pool compared to tear so when you're low mana you have to back off until your passive from this item regenerates your mana again to harass.
  • The +40 MR helps if you are getting constantly harassed by spells. I personally go this route if you're facing a burst ap middle.

Chrispy's Route:


I'll like to point out that this is the route I USUALLY GO personally. As always depending on the match ups the items will change. Sometimes it's bad to go this route, getting 3070_32.png lowers your early game damage, so you won't feel as strong until middle game, but I feel tear is a very overrated item. 

Starting Game: 1056.png2003.png2003.png (Normal Starting Build, If you want a safe start you can start

 2041_32.png2003_32.png2044_32.png, since I rush tear I go 1004_32.png2044_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png2004_32.png2004_32.png2004_32.png)

First Buy Back: 3070_32.png (When you get  Tear of the Goddess  start spamming while leaving base/in lane to get the full effect later in the game)

MOST people get 3092.png now for early game and it's really good for early game anyways. So focus on that first and you can get your tear, or don't even get tear and focus on your next core item!

Middle Game: 3020_32.png1058_32.png3070_32.png3108_32.png (This is enough to have major harass and be able to stay in lane for awhile)

Core: 3020_32.png3157_32.png3048_32.png3174_32.png3089_32.png (Once your 20px-Archangel%27s_Staff_item.png Archangel's Staff evolves into 20px-Seraph%27s_Embrace_item.png Seraph's Embrace, you'll have A LOT of damage. The Seraph's Shield is really helpful for initial team fights so you won't die as easily).

Situational: 3128_32.png3135_32.png3157_32.png (You will be doing a lot of damage from your runes/masteries/items giving you magic penetration. If they start to have 100+ MR build a 20px-Void_Staff_item.png Void Staff. If you're going to super single target burst, 20px-Deathfire_Grasp_item.png Deathfire Grasp  amplifies your damage 20% MORE. Lots of CC? Get 20px-Zhonya%27s_Hourglass_item.png Zhonya's Hourglass  and make sure to time it for some good baits.

Final: 3257_32.png3135_32.png3048_32.png3089_32.png3174_32.png  3157_32.png    

Summary:  Tear of the Goddess  will handle your mana, and the upgraded 20px-Seraph%27s_Embrace_item.png Seraph's Embrace will provide a shield to negate hard burst, plus you'll have your 20px-Zhonya%27s_Hourglass_item.png Zhonya's Hourglass for any defensive plays. Everything else is for good reasons, if you don't want to rush  Tear of the Goddess  AND 20px-Chalice_of_Harmony_item.png Chalice of Harmony, pick either one and just build depending on the situation.

Tank Route

Starting Game:  1056_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png(If you want a safe start you can start 2041_32.png2003_32.png2044_32.png).
 If against AD Middle 1029_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png

First Buy Back: 1027_32.png1028_32.png, you can also buy some pots, if you don't have enough money just buy one of the crystals. If you didn't start 1001_32.png then proceed to buy that next. Save up and upgrade to a 3010_32.png.

Middle Game: 3020_32.png3027_32.png (Rushing 20px-Rod_of_Ages_item.png Rod of Ages would be good since the earlier you get it the better, plus you'll be more tank with a good amount of AP).

Core: 3020_32.png3027_32.png3157_32.png3089_32.png (When you get 20px-Rod_of_Ages_item.png Rod of Ages and 20px-Zhonya%27s_Hourglass_item.png Zhonya's Hourglass , it will probably be 25-30 minutes into the game. Try to get a 20px-Rabadon%27s_Deathcap_item.png Rabadon's Deathcap next as these 3 are the most expensive items you have to save up for. 20px-Zhonya%27s_Hourglass_item.png Zhonya's Hourglass  provides for good defensive plays and baits, while the armor from it and the health from 20px-Rod_of_Ages_item.png Rod of Ages will make you stable throughout the fight).

Situational: 3135_32.png (Depending if they built MR against you, or they built full damage to kill you quickly, build depending on the situation!

Final: 3259_32.png3089_32.png3092.png3135_32.png3157_32.png 3027_32.png

Summary: Tank Route for 20px-SyndraSquare.png Syndra. You still maintain your great burst and you can absorb a lot more damage and help your team before you die.

CDR Route


**Runes**

You lose early game damage. Which means you might need more ganks. Which means the enemy will go more aggressive since he can out trade you easier. You can substitute having CDR per level Quints/Glyphs in replace of the Flat runes. Combine this with the masteries I personally go you'll start the game with 20% CDR which is halfway from the max CDR cap. You can also not have hybrid penetration reds and keep it like a standard ap rune page with CDR runes.



Starting Game: 1056_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png If against AD Middle 1029_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png2003_32.png.

First Buy Back: 3070_32.png, if you have enough gold for 1001_32.png buy it as well.

MOST people get 3092.png now for early game and it's really good for early game anyways. So focus on that first and you can get your tear, or don't even get tear and focus on your next core item!


Middle Game: 3020_32.png3070_32.png3108_32.png3028_32.png Starting building up to 3174_32.png. With  Crest of the Ancient Golem you'll always have 40% CDR. Without  Crest of the Ancient Golem
 you'll always have 30% CDR, you can have 40% if you buy another 2039_32.png.

Core: 3020_32.png3003_32.png3174_32.png3089_32.png3135_32.png You will always have 40% CDR, (20% from Runes and Masteries, 20% from 20px-Athene%27s_Unholy_Grail_item.png Athene's Unholy Grail), Increased AP from the 20px-Rabadon%27s_Deathcap_item.png Rabadon's Deathcap, a Barrier with 20px-Seraph%27s_Embrace_item.png Seraph's Embrace, plus you'll never run out of mana usually since you have both 3003_32.png and 3174_32.png, and 20px-Void_Staff_item.png Void Staff to merge into late game if you need it.

Final: 3259_32.png3003_32.png3174_32.png3089_32.png3135_32.png  3157_32.png or 3128_32.png. Grab 20px-Zhonya%27s_Hourglass_item.png Zhonya's Hourglass  last if you need some defense and/or want to bait out some CC from the enemy team, 20px-Deathfire_Grasp_item.png Deathfire Grasp  if you want to burst someone even more than you already can.

Summary: I only like it for a different number of reasons. You lack early game damage from changing your runes and masteries and by also getting a  Tear of the Goddess . But you start with 20% CDR at the beginning of the game, and plus if you buy a 2039_32.png you can have better trades and more harass during lane since you have 30% CDR so you can spam more spells; just manage your mana a lot more. Once you get your 3174_32.png you'll always have Max CDR and can spam your spells more, and have a bigger burst on your 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power if you play it right. This is just personal preference and the route I''m going that I think is pretty fun for me, so you can try it too if you want.

The thing about 103_icon_64.png vs. 134_icon_64.png is that 103_icon_64.png dash can outplay 134_icon_64.png, but this depends on the skill level of the player. I'll have to explain because most of the guides has this on hard.


Early levels harass her with  Dark Sphere, or  Dark Sphere + 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will if you can. Since 134_icon_64.png is a mobile champ and can cast while moving use that advantage and dodge her 20px-Orb_of_Deception.jpg Orb of Deception and follow up by your  Dark Sphere + AA (Auto-Attacks) and other abilities to win trades.

If your jungler ganks early set up a ball anywhere and try to position yourself so they you can stun 103_icon_64.png without her realizing it and try to secure a kill.

At level 6 get 103_icon_64.png to 3/4 health and that should be enough for a  Dark Sphere + 20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (Stun), 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will +  Dark Sphere + 14.png + 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power for an easy kill. Use your kill advantage to harass and out level her.

In team fights she will try to use her 20px-Spirit_Rush.jpg Spirit Rush to be mobile around the fight while damaging your team, or even just use it to pick someone off by surprise. Try to position yourself where you can have the chance to 20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (Stun) her and burst her down. If she misses her 20px-Charm.jpg Charm it would be the perfect time to go in and force her to waste her 20px-Spirit_Rush.jpg Spirit Rush.

For 84_icon_64.png harass her early game before she's level 6, try to secure a kill from the help of your jungler if you can.


At level 6 84_icon_64.png will become super aggressive and attempt to outplay you with her 20px-Shadow_Dance.jpg Shadow Dance. When she goes in try to 20px-Dark_Sphere.jpg Dark Sphere + 20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (Stun) her and 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will to slow her and run to tower so she doesn't attempt to 20px-Shadow_Dance.jpg Shadow Dance you again. If 84_icon_64.png is half health and tries to be aggressive to you again use 20px-Dark_Sphere.jpg Dark Sphere + 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will and  20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (Stun) if you have a stun opportunity and 14.png20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power to try to secure a kill.

Late game she will always try to burst you down before you can burst anyone else. Grab a 3157_32.png or 3026_32.png and even a 2043_32.png if she tries to burst you and shroud herself to outplay your spells.

34_icon_64.pngis pretty easy against134_icon_64.png. You have more range than34_icon_64.png.

Harass her early levels and try to secure kills with the help of your jungler. Once you both are 6 a good 34_icon_64.png can 20px-Crystallize.jpg Crystallize you off and use her 20px-Glacial_Storm.jpg Glacial Storm 20px-Frostbite.jpg Frostbite to do a lot of damage to you. Make sure to dodge34_icon_64.png's 20px-Flash_Frost.jpg Flash Frost, since you can move and cast you should be able to do that easily. You will have to use134_icon_64.png's 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power to make her go into  Rebirth form, you can probably burst her down quickly in egg form so your 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power wont be wasted.

In team fights just focus her before she can 20px-Flash_Frost.jpg Flash Frost stun and kill everyone, even if she turns into  Rebirth form your team can kill her easily. If you can save your 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power use it on the AD carry if your team has enough damage to kill her.

1_icon_64.pngis only hard because she can 4.png 20px-SummonTibbers.jpg Summon Tibbers and combo you for a kill easily.

Harass her early game, she will try to AA you because she has very long AA range. When you see her have her 20px-Pyromania.jpg Pyromania passive ready play more safe. She will probably try to stun you when her jungler comes to gank so be careful of that.

At level 6 you can outburst 1_icon_64.png. Land your 20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (stun) and kill her before she can 20px-Molten_Shield.jpg Molten Shield herself to increase her 20px-Pyromania.jpg Pyromania passive to stun and kill you herself.

In team fights, she will try to 4.png + 20px-SummonTibbers.jpg Summon Tibbers the whole team, try to avoid that and always try to burst her down before she can burst you.

If you are falling behind and1_icon_64.pngburst is must higher than yours try to get3157_32.pngand time it so you can kill her after she used her burst.

In team fights 10_64.png goal would be to negate your damage on whoever you are targeting your 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power with. Your team should be able to focus someone else or even 10_64.png if she wasted her 20px-Intervention.jpg Intervention trying to save someone. He will mostly try to 20px-Void_Spike.jpg Void Spike to last hit if you are harassing him and he is falling behind. If he 20px-Leap.jpg Leap's on you try to push him away with your 20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (Stun or Push) at the same time; when he does this usually their jungler is trying to gank middle or he wants to trade damage with you.

When you both are level 6 try to stun him when he's low and do your full combo ( Dark Sphere + 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will + 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will + 20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (Stun) + 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power + 14.png). In team fights he will still try to go for you, if he is fed his initial burst will do a lot of damage where you might even have to force a 4.png so the other team doesn't kill you off. Predict where he will go and try to outplay, this match up will mostly rely on the players skill level. The reason why 134_icon_64.png is decent against 121_icon_64.png most of the time is because she has more burst than him, so try to kill him before he can kill you, or else he will be put as hard difficulty.

Consider getting an early 3191_32.png, you'll definitely need the upgraded 3157_32.png's later.

Try to get early ganks from your jungler so she can fall behind in damage. Get an early 1057_32.png to negate her burst.

You can even take 21.png if you don't feel confident against a 7_icon_64.png. Once Leblanc is around 60% health, try to lead up with your combo ( Dark Sphere + 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will + 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will + 20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (Stun) + 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power + 14.pngfor a kill, since she is very squishy. In team fights avoid her laser, she will probably do it early to make their advantage of winning the team fight stronger, avoid her snares and go back to burst her down.

Early game 61_64.png can level her 20px-Command-Protect.jpg Command: Protect at level 1 and constantly auto attack you for a lot of damage due to her passive  Clockwork Windup.

When 61_icon_64.png uses 20px-Command-Attack.jpg Command: Attack  it will be on cool down for around 3-4 seconds, use that time to harass her as she has nothing to trade you with besides her Auto Attacks, and repeat.

Once you're 6 if she is low health use your combo ( Dark Sphere + 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will + 20px-Force_of_Will.jpg Force of Will + 20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (Stun) + 20px-Unleashed_Power.jpg Unleashed Power + 14.png) and try to secure a kill. When their jungler does an early gank on you don't get scared if 13_icon_64.png automatically 20px-Rune_Prison.jpg Rune Prison's you, concentrate and avoid any other CC and if you know for sure you can't get out without dying, then force your4.png.

At level 6 you can burst him down before he can even touch you. Position your stun and you can shut him down pretty easily. Mostly the point of this matchup is just to dodge his 20px-Nevermove.jpg Nevermove or you'll die and fall behind.

In team fights 50_icon_64.png will move in with 20px-Nevermove.jpg Nevermove and use his  Ravenous Flock . He will be pretty tanky, if you have sight of their AD carry burst them down instead of50_icon_64.png. If 50_icon_64.png didn't build too tanky you can still burst him down pretty easily; make sure to land your 20px-Scatter_the_Weak.jpg Scatter the Weak (Stun).

Consider building a 3165_32.png to shut down his healing with his ultimate.

Once you use your  Dark Sphere to attempt to harass he will try to go in with 20px-Cutthroat.jpg Cutthroat silence you, 20px-Rake.jpg Rake20px-Noxian_Diplomacy.jpg Noxian Diplomacy, and run away and repeat. Try to stay back and harass with your spells and keep your distance so he doesn't try to go in towards you.


If the enemy jungler ganks you it will be pretty hard to survive through it if 91_icon_64.png just4.png + use his full combo against you, you'll have to tank the damage and try to run away. Take 21.png if you have to, and consider buying 3047_32.png early so you can attempt to win trades against him.

Once 91_icon_64.png gets 3071_32.png he'll probably win most of the trades. Try to get an early 3157_32.png and time it so he uses his burst and doesn't have any abilities to use; that's the time to try to go in and secure a kill.

In team fights he will mostly be going for squishy targets (you). Try to have your team peel for you while doing damage to him. You have as much burst as he does so try to kill him before he can kill you. Go a more tanky build so if 91_icon_64.png goes on you and silences you and bursts you down that you'll still be able to live.


Consider getting: 3047_32.png3157_32.png3116_32.png for HP/Armor/Peel. Get a 2043_32.png or if your support can get 2042_32.png to scout him out when he 20px-Shadow_Assault.jpg Shadow Assault away.

If you are too late and he's already ganking a lane push your lane and eventually destroy his tower.

In team fights focus 4_icon_64.png and be in his face the whole time with the help of your team since 4_icon_64.png doesn't have an escape.

In team fights try to stun and focus him before he can dance and move anywhere else to kill the carry.
