Summoner Spells Back to Top

Standard on sups for a reason, it works. Go for exaust most of the time, ignite against a lot of healing or if you are really bloodthirsty.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

So the main idea is go for tank and sustain. You could also go grasp but I usually go bond for the damage reduction and taking away some of the damage from allies. Some of the other options are viable but this is what I go with.

taricpassive.png This does a surprising amount of damage and most people forget it's even there. Make sure you actually autoattack them or a good amount of your damage is gone.

imbue.png His heal. Works on charges. I get this last as the bond is nice for your ally, lets you hit stuns easier etc. But if you are getting poked out go for heal at level 2 and w at level 3. Max second for the increased heal. Try to use with more than 1 charge and keep in mind who else is in the radius if you want it to heal everybody.

shatter.png This is a cool ability, when cast it gives an ally of your choice a shield, and it bonds the two of you. They get bonus armor that scales off of your armor. And your other spells are cast from them too. Usually bond to your adc, but in teamfights it's not a bad thing to bond to your initiator to get your ult / stun off on them too, or your mid laner if they are the most fed etc. With your other abilities keep track of where your ally is and the range from them too. It takes some practice but if the two of you get too far away the bond is broken, and if they walk the wrong way it can screw up your spell so keep an eye on that.

dazzle.png This is a great stun! AOE and from two different places with your w. It is on a delay so there's some counterplay but should be landable especially when used after they engage. When they are stunned make sure to get your 2 autoattacks down to do the damage. Great in trades, teamfights whatever.

tarichammersmash.png This ult is frankly a little OP. Time it right and your entire team is invulnerable for a teamfight. They aren't un cc able just undamageable. like a kayle ult. But aoe for everyone on a delay. First, make sure your whole team if possible gets in on it, if they are at all in the circle when it goes down they get the benefit but that depends on the placement of you and your w target so be careful. Also timing is everything with this. You need to be before damage comes in but not too far before so they don't cast the damage or it wears off before the damage hits. Takes a little practice, but I've noticed most people are terrible at playing against this as they tend to ignore what the other team is doing and focus on their own thing. They'll blow all their big cooldowns in a fight as normal and then realized none of them did any damage thanks to you! :)

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Standard tank support start. Make sure to use the charges on cannon or melee minions if possible.

Core Items

Sightstone is your first priority with any support build it and swap your trinket to sweep for their wards. Use it! Then upgrade your targons so your gold generation goes up. After that sit on those two and build other items as there are better places to spend your gold. Then the decision on ruby sightstone vs eye is kind of a personal preference. There's a number of active tank items I really like and use a lot so I tend to go for ruby sightstone, but if you don't like them or don't use them as much or just forget they are even there go for eye.
All of these are good and valid under different circumstances. If there's a lot of hard cc go for merc treds, if they are all ad ninja tabi, just want to roam? Mobies, want to run around teamfights better? swifties it depends on the game and preferences.
Good tank item, good active, especially good if against 2+ crit champions (yas, trynd, shaco in addition to an adc)
Locket is better in teamfights with the active, and banner is really good for split pushing, if you pick it upgrade a cannon or caster minion as itll last longer. And then don't push that lane go somewhere else. You want them to either ignore it and let you get a tower, or send someone and leave you with a 4v5 going to that lane lets them send someone who will kill it without any punishment.
Good item, nice damage as you are in the middle of everything
Good item gives you healing bonuses so that's nice.
Good but ONLY GET THIS AFTER YOU HAVE 3000 health after buying! The whole point of it is the passive so don't buy it first and then get to use the passive eventually, buy other health stuff and get this eventually.
    Good against multiple autoattackers.
Great item for split pushing. Again like banner put it in the side lane (pay attention to the range you want the little guys to hit the towers) and then just let it push as you go down another lane. They either have to leave it or be down a person.
Great item for him as it gives you extra damage on your autos and some soft cc too.
You already bonded to your adc once why not twice?? (or three times if you're with kalista XD)

Situational Items

Other tank items are probably good too, basically you want vision and then tank however it works best for you. Make sure to adapt your build to the game you're in all of the tank items are great in the right circumstances don't build a thornmail against a fed ap mid laner when their adc is doing nothing. Etc.
