4.png in any given game. Don't make me explain why.

6.png great option for most matchups, unless it's something like 80.png you can't kite anyway. Lategame great for everything, unless they have lots of targete lockdown.
14.png after ghost buffs, I almost never take it. Landing few small darts more due to MS is almost always better than some dmg from ignite. Obvious use-case is crazy sustain.
21.png you can't go wrong with barrier now it got buffed. My go-to if I midlane as Teemo, as it is too short to ghost in.

If enemy team has lots of squishies, I take TLD for burst. 


If enemy team is on tankier side, I take FoB for DPS, usually with all 5 points in Piercing thoughts - if I need armor penetration, I can always easily get it, early magic pen not so much.

Do not take Sorcery, small darts don't proc it only bitchdart and d shroom.

You could take Wanderer, if you don't suck with early last hitting, but honestly you have OOC MS anyways so you could just admit to yourself you are bronze inside like I do and take Savagery.

I like Opressor more, as I rush slowing item, but you could opt for Bounty Hunter, if you plan hunting that's fine too.

Generally speaking damage everywhere.

Small darts are almost always maxed first. They grant the best damage at no mana cost. Even if you are aiming at short trades, The Teemsec does roughly the same damage when maxing small darts. 
Usage:
  • deal damage

Sprint will usually be maxed last. It allows you to land more small darts, so if you max small darts - and I hope you do - it is more beneficial than bitchdart. Also maxes it easier to dodge skillshots, crucial thing in mid lane.

If I don't take 3046.png I will max sprint second instead, or at least take 2, 3 ranks in it.
Usage:
  • easy skillshot dodging
  • chasing people running away from you
  • running away from people chasing you
  • quickly moving between lanes to splitpush 2 lanes at the same time

I usually max Bitchdart second, with 3046.png sprint is not as crucial. It helps you survive if you get jumped onto, and also grants you burst with basic-Q-basic combo(a.k.a the Teemsec).
  • targeted nuke, especially in combo
  • preventing enemy from using their basic attack, especially enhanced ones i.e. zedpassive.pngpickacard.pngudyrbearstance.png
  • early in the game, preventing usage of thunderlords. Very useful in many matchups early phase, never underestimate!
  • blinding enemy diver or marksman in teamfight

Ah. D shroom. Uses of this ability deserves separate chapter. It is often your only waveclear, but that's fine, CD is short. You need to master footplanting it, as in placing and procing it during the fight and not only before it, as dumb 3364.pngdisables shrooms that are already there, but NOT THE NEW ONES. I.e. if Zed ults you with Oracle on, put a shroom exactly where he is going to land, or, even better, in enemy minions nearby to make sure it procs.

Ambush is one of most iconic, fun, and tilting for enemy innates in the game. Although it's not the strongest, because let be honest, waiting for enemy to walk into you while you could be doing something useful is rarely way to win, bonus 80% AS is far from useless.
Usage:
  • ambushing enemy. If you can predict their route and they walk into you, few champions can deal with Teemo buffed with element of surprise
  • preventing dives: blind person diving you, go stealth. Tricky, but there's a chapter with tips
  • taking down turrets faster. Only use if nobody is going to gank you soon, and if it's already at 60% bonus, AND you are not close to cap with items only. Otherways not worth it
  • juking in brush

Typical build order

3144.png/3145.png->1001.png->3146.png->3046.png->3087.png->3031.png->3085.png->3139.png


In MS matchups (Dario, Riven) start with 1001.png and rush 3009.png. If no, take lvl 1 boots after cutlass or revolver, or earlier if you have gold spare, and don't upgrade them.

If your enemy is tanky, 3144.png first. If squishy, 3145.png.
3146.png is your first big item usually, honestly what this item gives is ridiculous. DPS, burst, sustain, slow, both kinds of damages - everything you need to set you up, except AS. That's why I take lots of AS in runes and masteries.
3091.png will replace one of your zeal items if you are in hard AP matchup, get it first or second, depending on how good you are doing. Power of this item in AP matchup is just absurd.
3046.png grants you AS, great kiting, and some survi. You ;kmight think crit is bad at this point, but with bonus AD from gunblade crit chance DPS/gold ratio becomes roughly the same as flat AD, so it's completely fine, and item works great.
3087.png shiv aids your bursting and splitpushing. You might not feel like it before you try it, but this build actually gives great burst. Great combo with 3146.png, heals you get off shiv proc in minions reach 400.
3031.png absurd boost to your damage. Nothing more to say here. Read notes on 'crit item order' though.
3085.png hurricane is so broken on anyone really, that passing it up on Teemo who happens to have great synergy with it AND builds crit this game would be a sin.
3139.png I tried many thing, but this seems like best way to finish this build. Even if enemies only have slows, you don't have a dash so ability to break out of them is still priceless. If I have WE, I will usually attempt to sell it lategame for this, unless I really need higher MR. Sometimes, ofc you will need other items, but if you don't have other idea for finisher, this is the default.

Situational items

Those are items you get if you need to counter something very specific, like extreme burst damage you can't dodge or otherwise avoid. Usually they will replace 3139.png. Most of them are survi items, but not all.

3022.png if you need some added tankiness, and/or your team simply needs more utility, this is a great item. Usually my mallet build will include 3085.png3046.png3091.png, while skipping 3087.png, as they synergize well with it.
3143.png bunch of tank stats against physical damage threats. Heavy counter to ever-popular 157.png and most fed marksman.
3065.png for heavy AP burst. Nice synergy with 3146.png3087.png combo.
3123.png3033.png remind bitchez who's d god here, and who are mere mortals. I don't need to tell you when to build this, do I? (drain tanks and healers). Synergizes well with3085.png if there is more than single problem.
3036.png against heavy armor team lategame.
3102.png if you get something like 54.png constantly ulting you, this might be golden. Usually tho SV is better.
3156.png"Wits is not enough, but SV would be overkill". Honestly this game has so many MR options for carries it's disguisting.
3072.png I'm kind of still testing it, but it seems reasonable if you really don't need that 3140.png
3026.png GA is not bad if you are teamfighting a lot. If you splitpush it's kind of meh.
3135.pngOK sometimes weirdest shit happens, and enemies still stack MR, even if only magic damage threat on your team is crit Teemo...

Most Teemos know they can do AA/Q->AA combo, however most Teemos also think bitchdart is a basic attack reset. It is so, because animations on most Teemo skins are very simple, and it looks like Teemo did two quick basic attacks.


This is, however, not true. What happens here is animation canceling - bitchdart animation covers Teemo's basic attack winddown animation.

What less Teemos know, is that Q can be used to cancel shroom toss animation, for AA/R/Q->AA combo, that takes the same time to cast. Mastering this will help you greatly to deal will lane aggression from champions like Irelia etc. Not only you deal more damage quickly that way, planting a shroom becomes much less visible, making it harder to dodge.

Pros:
  • It's very flexible. It gives you good kiting, splitpushing, burst, DPS - depending on needs. If you need to, it's easy to put in tankier items, PD's damage reduction and sustain from gunblade pairs well with them. If you need to, it's easy to increase your tankbusting. Item order can vary, according to needs(i.e. if you need better damage, you can go for earlier IE, if you need splitpush, you can invest in Shiv or Hurri first)
  • All stages of the game are similarly strong: Teemo is always good in lane (unless in a really bad matchup), in midgame Shiv and Hurri grant you great splitpushing, and in lategame it has good teamfight presence due to high damage output and safety provided by it's components.
  • It grants one of best damage outputs in the game, I believe. Most marksman can't afford to skip boots for a 6th slot, Teemo can do it. Because Zeal items are so cheap, and because you usually never upgrade boots, your full build doesn't even come much later compared to typical marksman build.
  • Damage is almost perfect 50-50 hybrid, making it hard to itemize against.
Cons:
  • usually, you will be squishy, which might be a problem. However, as I pointed, it is easy to make it tankier. Great burst, sustain, Lament mittigate this problem - if enemy assassin isn't very ahead compared to you, you can often just kill them when they jump on you( ! ). Works best on Zed's.
  • shrooms deal little damage

I'm plat Teemo player, so not very high ELO yet. I hope to get to Dia before season ends, if I find enough time to play. If you are some high-end Teemo, and you don't find this build good, you might as well be right, so please, point all weaknesses you found, I won't be mad.

If I get some positive responses, I'll might add matchup section. Right now I just wanted to share my way of playing Teemo, as this kind of build doesn't seem popular. It works for me great until now, and it's sure tons of fun with all that juicy damage ;)
