Summoner Spells Back to Top

SUMMONERS:

THIS IS MY SUMMONER. THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT, BUT THIS ONE IS MINE.


4.png: ALWAYS take Flash. 412.png has no escapes, so therefore, you need to get one. Oh what? You can 4.png over walls and ESCAPE? Perfect! You can also make some plays with your kit (specifically threshQ.png and threshW.png).

3.png: Exhaust is situational based on who your lane partner is. If you are with a lane bully like 236.png, you may as well go 14.png. However, if you are with a hyper-carry such as 222.png3.png is a MUCH better summoner to help survive lane, as well as reduce the damage the enemy ad is doing in trades.

14.png: I take Ignite most of the time now, since the 3.png nerfs. It gives you a lot of kill pressure in lane, however, past laning phase, you wont see much purpose for it. You sort of slap it on an enemy carry and hope it kills them. It also is good at negating heals (looking at you 16.png).

Masteries Back to Top

MASTERIES:

MASTER YOUR MASTERIES, MASTER YOUR ENEMIES.

***NOTE*** Yes, I am aware you can do MANY other things with masteries, however, these are the masteries I believe are the best on Thresh overall.

CUNNING:

Most of the masteries Ive chosen are fairly self explanatory (Secret Stash, Bandit, Intelligence), however, I will explain the few I feel you can take either/or.

Wanderer vs Savagery

If you are looking to roam often, take Wanderer. More out of combat movement speed, faster roams, quicker you are back to lane. If you plan on staying in lane, take Savagery. It will help you get stacks off 3302.png, since the interaction of this item with 412.png is sort of wonky.

Merciless vs Meditation

If you want more damage, take Merciless. The damage might help you finish off a kill or two, however, the only issue is 412.png has a fairly bad mana problem. This is where Meditation comes in. It will help you sustain your mana in the early game before you can get any mana items (3110.png3800.png).

TLD vs Windspeaker's Blessing

If you choose to go 0/18/12 (which as of 7.9, I do NOT recommend) For the most part, you should take Thunderlord's but if you want to have a stronger shield on threshW.png (for some reason) and you feel like 3107.png just isnt doing enough healing for your liking, you can go Windspeaker's Blessing. You never know, it might save someone.


RESOLVE:

Recovery vs Unyielding

This one is personal preference. Unyielding synergizes well with your passive, threshpassive.png, however Recovery gives you better sustain in lane. All your preference though.

Explorer vs Tough Skin

Much like Wanderer, it gives you more movement speed, but this time, in brush and river. Good for roaming. Tough Skin is better when staying in lane. Both are good on 412.png, more of a preferential thing, once again.

Insight vs Perserverance 

WHAT? YOU CAN 4.png MORE? SCREW BASE HEALTH REGEN!

Courage of the Colossus vs Stoneborn Pact

If you are duo'd with an AD or you are high(er) elo, Id STRONGLY recommend Stoneborn Pact. The lifesteal in trades from this mastery are too good to pass up. However, if you are solo and your ad is boosted (much like me), CotC is likely the better mastery.

ABILITIES:

WHERE ALL THE MAGIC HAPPENS... WAIT, NOT THAT MAGIC!


MAX ORDER: R>Q>W>E (threshR.png>threshQ.png>threshW.png>threshE.png)

Some of you might be confused with the skill order. However, allow me to elaborate. Obviously, we will max our threshR.png whenever we can, however, some might want to put a few extra points or even max threshE.png first. I believe that maxing threshE.png is BAD. I'm not saying putting an extra point in threshE.png will make you lose Worlds, but the only benefit to maxing threshE.png is damage. The cooldown isnt reduced, and there isnt any cc to write home about. This is why I max threshQ.png first. The damage is increased, the cooldown is lowered, and the CC on threshQ.png is definitely more worth talking about. Max threshW.png second, as you can open up more opportunities to save teammates who are caught out. Max threshE.png last since the damage is always there ANYWAY, but the mana cost increase and no cooldown reduction is the reason we max this last.

Starting Items

    Default start for Thresh. Start this EVERY game.

Core Items

    Ruby Sightstone is more health. More health, stronger heal from Stoneborn. EZ
    GOTTA GO FAST
    Zeke's is in a pretty good spot, a good 2nd or 3rd item, but can be rushed if you are playing the peel role.
    Scales with max hp now, so a good item to pick up later, but still provides a nice shield vs AoE in the early stages.
    Pick this item up if you like your AD not getting blown up.
    There is no reason to build this, as it sucks if you arnt taking Windspeaker's.

Situational Items

    These are other options for boots. Ionian for more cdr (however with the core build, you wont need these). swifties are rather a worse version of mobi's. merc's for when the other team has a lot of cc.
    If it gets a little late, get this. drinkable health. sounds good to me.

Alistar

Medium

Normally, Id say 12.png is a fairly easy match-up for 412.png, since his range is far greater than that of 12.png, its more of a skill math-up, when I think about it. Alistar's all in is devastating, if played poorly, though if you know how to play the match-up, lane should be fairly easy. Watch for engagements from 12.png later in the game, use threshe.png and threshw.png to get your teammates to safety. Engage AD > 12.png.

VS

Annie

Easy

Annie support is very popular anymore, and it is fairly weak compared to the likes of Zyra or Malz. Very squishy, can be easily disposed of with a nice threshq.png. Engage 1.png > AD. TAKE EXHAUST. Post-6, watch for 4.png+infernalguardian.png combo.

VS

Ashe

Easy

Ashe Support is only good with 21.png. Abuse early game, as that lane is squishy. Post-6, play around ultimates (enchantedcrystalarrow.png+missfortunebullettime.png), if theirs are down, aggress. Engage 22.png > AD.

VS

Bard

Medium

Skill Match-up. Avoid walls/minions. Abuse ANY lane positioning error. Engage AD > 432.png.

VS

Blitzcrank

Hard

Blitz, the more all-in Thresh. His rocketgrab.png is on a shorter cooldown that your threshw.png, so you cannot get hooked. Stand behind minions AT ALL TIMES. Blitz has no real peel tools, so use that knowledge wisely. Play around his cooldowns. Engage AD > 53.png. TAKE EXHAUST.

VS

Braum

Easy

Fairly easy matchup, as you will outdamage Braum if you avoid being hit by his passive. Braum has great peel tools, so you will have to rid of him first to get to the ad. Engage 201.png > AD.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Easy

A surge in fiddle players has made me happy, as this scarecrow cannot and will not defeat you. Can cancel his crowstorm.png with threshq.png or threshe.png, which is most of his damage. EXTREMELY SQUISHY. Engage 9.png > AD.

VS

Galio

Easy

Havent play VS Galio support much, but I can imagine its brutal for Galio. Can threshe.png out of taunt (out of range, as well), and can threshe.png his only escape. Watch for lv. 6 all in, as Galio's galior.png gives damage reduction. Engage AD > 3.png.

VS

Gragas

Medium

The Smoothie special. Very disruptive with gragasr.png, but can be abused for a fairly weak lane. Get ahead, there is no looking back. Gragas is pretty tanky, and wont likely be killing him with his AD around, so the ad can go first. Engage AD > 79.png.

VS

Janna

Medium

Janna's disengage is a tease with howlinggale.png and reapthewhirlwind.png. Difficult to stay on AD after 6, so you must get a lead early, or you'll never see then opportunity again. Engage 40.png > AD.

Karma

Hard

The poke from Karma karmamantra.png + karmaq.png is quite annoying and it does damage, so you need to make sure you do NOT die in this lane. Karma can spin the game out of control if she wins lane. Vs her, it is a MUST WIN lane. Engage AD > 43.png.

VS

Leona

Easy

Leona's hardest counter. With threshe.png, you can cancel her only form of hard engage, leonazenithblade.png, land an easy af threshq.png, then proceed to watch as she dies instantly as your whole team collapses on her. Engage AD > 89.png.

VS

Lulu

Hard

This is likely the most annoying lane champion in League, in my opinion. With a 1.25-2.25 second polymorph in luluw.png, your ad becomes useless for a large portion of the trade. I recommend playing passive in this lane, or until an opportunity arrives (gank, misposition, etc.) Engage 117.png > AD.

VS

Miss Fortune

Easy

Only decent with 22.png. Abuse early lane. Engage AD > 21.png.
