Summoner Spells Back to Top

Get 14.png ignite for more aggression early and plan to win early.
Get 3.pngexhaust if they have more assassins and attack speed based champs. Also use it if you know you are going to be playing more passive and be pushed in, it's stronger for late game as well

I usually max flaythreshE.png for earlier trades and the cc is a lot more impact full, especially if you have no mana for anything you will still have your passive autothreshpassive.png which does a lot of damage.

Maxing hookthreshQ.png will just be more mana costing for you. Most think that maxing hook will be better to lower cd but you don't need to even land over 3 hooks to win lane, sometimes 1 will just be enough so your flay slow + auto damage will be more impact to the trades.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Standard rush usually first-second back, build into eye or FOM , then usually locket/frozen after

Core Items

Best two items to always have to maximize your cdr reduction. 90% of the time you will run this, can be replaceable if depending on their team
Eye is really good now because it is cheaper/easier to get. It also provides you more item optimization. You can still run FOM if its like ex: Zed or bursty

Situational Items

I usually don't run it often, ill pick it against morel poke comp or if i want to play passive farm lane/roam
If faced against heavy AD, if they dont have a lot of attack speed like zed, irellia, gangplank, you can replace frozen heart for randuins.
    Faced Heavy MR
Boots are mostly preference choice in my personal opinion. I Usually run mobis 90% of the time because you roam a lot more after laning phase , helps you ward quick and group

As a long lasting player and as a support main, most of the items are very situational, depending on my comp, enemy comp, gold advantage and disadvantage. I'll explain it the best way i can through every item that I usually run and my thoughts when I buy them. I feel like I have an incredible game knowledge when it comes to my support play style , which is why items can be very versatile and situational.

Gold buying:
Make most of your gold buying useful. The hard part for most lower elos they don't know what to do for around 350g or less. You should be buying boots and a potion if at 350, if you are behind , get pink ward and 3 potions. I'd recommend not buying more than 3 potions because it preserves you more gold and backing out phase should only take about 3. Now if you have a range between about 400g - 700g, you can still stick with boots and two-three potions and a pink , or ruby crystal or into targons and the same way that. Never go to lane with 0 potions, 1 is good but I'd recommend 2 for minimum . Even if you are spot on the dot , just let it go and you can obtain it next back. Usually early game is quite random a bit for me since what I buy is usually how i just feel like playing, but it has worked for my climb.

Boots3117.png:
Usually I will buy 1st - 2nd back for tier 1 boots, I will rush into tier 2 only if we have the advantage in lane/pushing lane. Depending on your gold adv/dsv. Mobis will help you roam and go for picks more but mercs and ninjas would be better for team fights.

Eye of equinox/Face of mountain2303.png3401.png:
I used to love face of the mountain for a very long time, it was a really good baiting tool/ last minute hitters to save my teammate. And it is still a good item so it's completely not unusable. I would still run it if there is ex: a zed or someone with more single target burst. The only problem with it is, it's not going to be super effective for late game, you won't to have the most hp/defense as you are defending/engaging. What makes eye better is, it gives you the early ward advantages, extra item slot, and it's cheap.

Locket3190.png:
Should always be your 3rd item , your basic core. If there is no magic damage dealer on the enemy team, don't bother getting this. Right after eye/fom you should rush locket.

Frozen Heart3110.png:
Recommend getting after locket, you will maximize your cdr reductions , if they have no attack speed based champs nor any AD champs, do not get this item.

The rest are situational on your entire game, your 5-6 item are just how the game is

Thresh and the current meta Back to Top

Thresh right now has a lower popularity and win rate for this current meta. The reason for this is because more impact supports have been playing a lot and provide less risk

Thresh is a risky because you have to make less mistakes as you do then most other supports in order to provide more for your team. This has to do with thresh's longer cdr than most other supports and he is a higher skill cap support. Though I wouldn't recommend playing him in higher elo rank at the moment, he can still be fun to play.

Tips and Tricks Back to Top

Solo Q vs Dynamic: Unless it's just for fun, I wouldn't recommend dynamic. I've seen many players go though always saying "my team sucks so i want to add players for dynamic to win", That's not going to help whatsoever especially self improvement. In order to improve yourself , you must blame yourself and your mistakes. Having the mind set thinking that dynamic is going to win more games, it won't. We all are good/bad players and we are in it together.

Quit blaming the team/adc
: We all have bad players in games, doesn't matter what team. As a support you must play on their worst. You must find a way to ward more, roam more,  position better to help you carry. It honestly doesn't matter having bad players, you in fact, are the sole purpose of winning your lane. Their mistakes are more due to your mistakes, this is a step to blaming yourself and think what you could do better if they get into a bad situation.

Counter picks lookup
: Don't think looking up counter pick champs is the biggest tool, think bigger. Counter pick champs were just a small kick for laning phase. You must pick champs that work well with your team and against your enemy team. This is more essential due to learning experience and what makes a good composition.

Skill knowledge

Multitasking: This is for more if have played the game long enough to know what happens and where you can be able to a lot more. An example I have is where you are charging an enemy with your team but another enemy is close by , so you know your team can get him , so you keep your eye on the ones who are not in the fight. This helps provide more impact to get more than what you get. This goes a long with everything though, like warding during a chase, using your actives, watching your mana and cdr. It does take a lot of practice but once you get it down this will increase your game knowledge a lot better.
