Summoner Spells Back to Top

You have 2 options for summoner spells with Thresh.

You want to go with 3.png if you want to play relatively safe in lane, and go for that late game. Exhaust is also a good priority if the enemy team is heavily based on ad, and specially if they have late hyper carries.

The other options which is 14.png, is mostly for aggressive laning phase. Let's say the enemy botlane has a Soraka, Sona or Nami (squishy champions/champions with heal) u can easily burst them down with ur adc. And ignite also reduces healing done for a short amount of time, which also plays a huge factor for the 2v2's. So normally u go ignite, when you are against squishy champions, and when the enemy team don't have lot's of ad.

Masteries Back to Top

Alright so.. I have been running this rune page for my entire Thresh life! I know a lot of Thresh players run Courage of the Colossus, instead of Stoneborn Pact. But let's set things in a perspective!

First of all, we all know that a supports job is to peel and protect the adc right? If we look at Colossus first. It gives yourself a shield, when you flay enemies. And has a 30-45 second cd... Whereas Stoneborn Pact has a lot more imPACT(haha pun in a bun), because your adc will get some of your hp, when he/she attacks the target(s) you have branded/attacked. Is that what a support is there for? I think it is! :D

I call this abilitytree the 420flayit!

Maxing threshe.png gives you a huge passive AD bonus, which goes well with the ad marks! Every time your e passive is up, you can walk up to the enemy adc/support and poke them. Or eventually flay them back for a lot of good dmg onto them. Flay is great ability to either engage or disengage, which is very important early on. threshq.png Is the second ability you are going to max. Simply because you can hook more often, which allows you to make lé plays! Coming up 3rd is threshw.png, which is pretty obvious. I don't see any particular reason for maxing a lantern. And always upgrade your threshrpenta.png when possible! (lvl 6,11,16)

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

You always want to start with this.

Core Items

When you have these items, you are ready to run around the map to get that vision, and make those plays. You are fast, you have wards, you can clear wards, and you got a shield.

Situational Items

This build is probably THE best build. It's the build that i always run with. You have a lot of peel and protectiveness. The locket gives you an extra shield, cause you already have that face of the mountain. Redemption gives your team a huge teamfight potential! A lot of healing coming in there. And at last the frozen heart gives you that 40% cd cap, and also contains a lot of mana! So this build gives you basically all you need.
You want to go with this build, if the enemy team has a lot of ad. Ninja tabis coming in, for the 10% reduced damage. Frozen heart slows their attack speed, and randuins omen slows their movement speed. Though, you still want to have that redemption for the healing, and the locket for the maybe 1 ap mage, and of course the shield.
You want to go with this build, when the enemy team is heavily ap based. Again, you still want the redemption for the heal, and locket for the little extra armor you get(Yes.. they have an adc). Mercury's coming in for the 25 mr, and reduces effects(stuns, slows, taunts etc) on you by 30%. I like the adaptive helm aswell, because when you take damage from a spell, it will reduce all the subsequent magic dmg from that spell by 15% for 4 seconds.

VS

Alistar

Medium

The matchup against alistar is a bit tricky, but you can manage to do well if you do it right. If you are fast enough you can flay him away, when he uses his w(charge against you) which will mess up his combo.

VS

Bard

Easy

I find Bard pretty easy to play against. Bard doesn't really have any counter spells against you. If you hook and flay him, he doesn't have any way out. Except if he is near a wall, or has his flash of course.

VS

Blitzcrank

Medium

Playing against Blitz can be annoying. But to be honest, you have have great trade potential. Let's say Blitz hooks you, and you are in the middle of the enemies. First thing you do is, you flay them back, hook whoever is near you and lantern your teammate. Because when blitz has hooked you, he doesn't have anything left to offer.

VS

Brand

Hard

Brand is one of the harder matchups. He is a really strong early poke damage kind of guy, which you have to respect. Though he is kind of squishy, so if you manage to hook him, it might be your lucky day. But it's important to dodge all his poke, or else you will have a really hard time.

VS

Braum

Medium

Braum is a 50/50 matchup i would say. You both have great trading potential, but if you peel your adc right and can keep your adc away from braum, you win the fight. Eventally flay braum away :)

VS

Janna

Medium

Janna can be annoying with all those shields, which also gives her a whole lot of trading potential... I would recommend playing aggressive against her with ignite, so you can shut her down early and not let her become a "hyperpeeler" later on.

VS

Karma

Hard

Karma is straight out hard to play against. She has great mobility, which makes it hard for you to hook her. The best way to sort things out here is, to walk up to her, flay her backwards for the slow, and then hook her! But be careful.. she has lot's of shielding and damage!

VS

Leona

Easy

Leona isn't that tough. You are a big counter to her. When she uses her e you can "just" flay her back and then hook her. Because if you mess up her e, she can't stun you or your adc. So keep your eyes open, and be ready to counter her play.

VS

Lulu

Hard

Lulu is a lil' annoying gurl :D Just like Karma, she has a lot of mobility, shielding and damage. Play carefully, and wait for jungler!

VS

Morgana

Medium

Playing against Morgana requires that you are aware of certain things. You need to notice when she uses her spellshield, so you know when to hook. And if she spellshields her adc, just go 100% on her and burst her down with ur adc. She is pretty squishy!

VS

Nami

Medium

The damn fish has a lot of healing and peeling for her adc. Make sure that you play ignite vs Nami, to reduce the healing coming in from her. Though she is pretty squishy, so maybe you should consider focusing her.

VS

Rakan

Medium

Rakan has 2 jumps. If you can manage to flay him back, and hook him when he goes on you, you have got yourself a ticket for a kill! Otherwise it's a pretty even matchup, and definitely a skill matchup.

VS

Sona

Easy

Sona is VERY squishy. When she walks up to poke you, your job is to hook her and flay her back, so your adc can burst her down. And make sure you play ignite against her.

VS

Soraka

Easy

Soraka, like Sona. Very very squishy! Make sure you play aggressive against her, so she can't spam her q and regenerate her health. Play with ignite !

VS

Tahm Kench

Hard

Tahm Kench is really annoying to lane against.. If you hook him, you must be aware of that he can lick you and eat you, and after spit you out in his advantage. He is very tanky aswell, and can save his adc if u decide to go all in on the adc

VS

Taric

Easy

Playing against Taric shouldn't be your worst nightmare. He is not very mobile, and does not have any escapes if you hook him.

VS

Zyra

Hard

Zyra is a real lane bully, and has a lot of damage throughout the whole laning phase! She counter's you with all those plants she can place, so you might hook them instead of her.. Though her weakness is her squishyness! If you somehow manage to land a hook on her, make sure you go in on her and burst her down. If it's to hard, and she creates a lot of pressure in the lane, i would recommend that you wait for your jungler. Make sure to play ignite against her.
