Ferocity (18)

- Take Fury because the attack speed it gives and your not going AP (i hope) so no need to Socerism
- Double Edged Sword because you it give you more damage and you don't need the sustain from Feast 
- Vamparism because you don't build lifesteal until late in the build
- Bounty Hunter because it allows you to snowball more 
- Battering Blow because your AD not AP
- Fevour of battle is just the best but you can take Warlords Bloodlust if you prefer 

Cunning (12)

- Wanderer over savegery because the movement speed is more valuable
- Secret stash because Assassin and Runic Affinity aren't really useful 
- Merceiless over meditation because it works nicely with your E and mana is not much of an issue
- Dangerous game over Bandit because Bandit is for supports and dangerous game can save your life in close fights

Abilities Breakdown

tristanapassive.pngDraw a Bead (Passive)

- As you level you you gain attack range, you start with 550 attack range and end with 699 which is the second longest auto attack range after Jinx. This allows you to scale well into the late game as you can auto attack from a far range. 


rapidfire.pngRapid Fire (Q)

- You gain bonus attack speed for 5 seconds  
- This is good for trading in lane and essential to team fights when you know you can get a few autos in, best to use after detonatingshot.png to maximize the damage from it as it enable you to auto faster. 
- Max this second as the bonus attack speed you gain from it is nice 


rocketjump.pngRocket Jump (W)

- Your escape/gap closer, you jump to a location dealing damage when land 
- The ability cool down resets when you get a kill, assist and max stack explosive charge explosions
- Use this ability to get kill after kill, once you get a kill look to jump near another target - don't jump too close to enemies however as they may turn on you, remember you have high range due to passive.
- Only jump on top of enemies if they are nearly dead as it applies a 60% slow
- This ability is key to team fighting as the position you W to will determine how a fight goes
- DO NOT USE W TO ENTER A FIGHT unless you can guarantee a kill or assist only use it after you get a kill
- Max this ability last as it the only significant benefit of maxing is the cool down reduction 

 

detonatingshot.pngExplosive Charge (E)

- Passively causes there to be a small explosion around the area when you kill minions/champion, helps for pushing waves
- Actively you place an explosive charge on an enemy which explodes after 4 seconds, explosion radius doubled on turrets
- After using Explosive Charge you want to get in as many autos as possible as the more autos you do cause explosive charge to have higher damage, after 4 autos it denonates instantly 
- This is a great tool for trades in lane as in extended trades you will stack up your autos onto your explosive charge, this should allow you to win the trade
- Remember to use on turrets as it does a lot of damage to the enemies around and is also effective in destroying turrets


bustershot.pngBuster Shot (R)

- Knocks back a target and does damage
- 3 uses for this ability:
- Finish of a low HP target
- Knock away a target who is threatening to kill you or an ally
- Knock a target into a bad area for them, e.g. Turret

    Get these before completing IE
    Get IE first
    Get Shiv second then finish boots
    Usually fourth
    Build after Bloodthirster
    One of these after QSS
    Turn QSS into Mercurial Scimitar

Situational Items

    If they have 3+ Tanks
    If they are stacking Armour
    If you keep dying
    If they are heavy AP
    If they keep one shooting you
    Drop these if building situational item

STARTING:

- Always start 1055.png and 2003.png as it gives you the best damage and sustain for your money 

CORE:
- Ideally on your first back you want to get 1038.png or 1037.png . These items give nice early damage and build into 3031.pngIf you can afford neither get another 1055.png 
- After you have 1038.png and 1037.png try getting 1042.png and 1001.png as these will give you some essential attack speed with will enable you to get out more autos in trades and some movement speed.
- Finish 3031.png next, this gives you 65 damage and 30% crit chance. This is your first damage spike and if you get if before your opponent look to trade. 
- Next get 3087.png as it is the best attack speed item for Trist ATM, it increases your crit to over 50% and will help clear waves. After this build 3006.png for more attack speed.
- Your fourth item should be 3072.png this gives you a lot of attack damage as well as an over shield so you can take more damage, it also gives a ton of life steal so you can heal up in between fights. 
- Next build 3140.png unless they have literally no cc however you should build this nearly every game, the ability to get out of a cc is so valuable, especially towards mid/late game .

- Your fifth item should be 3094.png or 3085.png or 3046.png unless you are going for one of the situational items, this is when you should build and situational item. 
- Finally finish 3139.png get this item every game as it provides life steal. lots of damage and a cc escape with the active. 

SITUATIONAL:
3153.png build this if they have lots of tanks such as 36.png 54.png
-3036.png build this if they are stacking armor which you are struggling to get through, i rarely build this item
3026.png build this if struggling to survive in team fights
3156.png build this if they are a heavy ap team or just have one fed ap champion like 7.png, i build this item regularly
3053.png build this if your getting one shot by someone like 91.png

Medium

- She doesnt't have that long range so you should be able to trade effectively with her by using detonatingshot.png and rapidfire.png

- Avoid her asheW.png by hiding behind minions then look to trade
bustershot.png can be used to knock her away if she is chasing you down by using her slows
rocketjump.png can be used to dodge asheR.png however you have to be ready for it 

VS

Caitlyn

Medium

- She can poke you a lot early but once you get a few levels it should be fine due to your passive increasing your range

- You should beat her in early trades as you have detonatingshot.png whereas she mainly auto attacks
- However Caityln scales harder than Trsitana so she may be stronger in the late game, your advantage over her in the late game is your superior range, try to use this

VS

Corki

Easy

- For him to use his ggun.png on you he has to be close range, if he comes close to use this you can use detonatingshot.png then rapidfire.png  you should win the trade you can stack uo the damage on your detonatingshot.png

- When he gets 3078.png you need to be a bit more careful as at this point he is stronger than you 

VS

Draven

Easy

- You both have high damage early as you have detonatingshot.pngrapidfire.png and he has dravenspinning.png however you should win these early trades as rapidfire.png speeds up your autos so will will get more autos in and win the trade, this is assuming you have used detonatingshot.png before you use rapidfire.png

- Later on if you dodge dravenrcast.png using your rocketjump.png and use detonatingshot.pngrapidfire.png then bustershot.png to finish off you should win the fight
- You also have a large range advantage later on in the game
