Summoner Spells Back to Top

This is necessary, take smite for clearing camps and flash for possible out plays. As trundle you are limited to soft engage, speed increase and the pillar. It's really easy for an adc to kite out trundle head on so you'll need flash for good 1v1's/outplays. Or escapes.

Masteries Back to Top

Starting with the ferocity page, I take expose weakness since I'll be frontlining for my adc for bottom lane ganks. This means that I'll be hitting multiple champions while my adc does increased damage to whoever I hit. I end at 12 points at oppressor since pillar will proc that ability for 6 seconds. Late game pillar is on roughly a 7 second cd, so use that to your advantage.

With the resolve page, we obviously go with increased healing as that is trundle's main way of dominating trades and clearing camps. Tenacity for so that you can build tabi and not have to worry too much about being cc'd. Summoner cdr reduction is always great for flash. Finally strength of ages to out scale in HP and become an early game tank menace.

Trundle's strength within the first 10-15 minutes is the shocking speed of clearing the jungle and leveling up. However when rotations begin to occur, particularly dives/jungle invades/warding. Your trundleE.pngbecomes the best possible option to max second. This is because is pillar is also one of the most creative abilities to toy with. It's a soft engage, disengage, obstacle, ward, knock up, and interfere's with movement casts such as Leblanc leblancslide.png, Vi viQ.png, Grag gragasbodyslam.png etc. Max trundleW.png last since trundleQ.pngtrundleE.pngout classes in utility during mid/early game.

Remember that trundleR.png steals armor/mr so use it on the tankiest enemy member. (Not the one with the most HP) If you are preparing for a long extended fight DO NOT trundleR.png FIRST. This is because trundleR.png heals you 20% of their max hp. If you trundleR.png first you heal basically nothing and only gain the stats. Trundle is great at holding down 1v2's and 1v3's because he can regen an enormous amount of health and stats in a really short time. Use this to buy your team time to press an advantage or win the fight you stalled for so long.

Ganking: When you gank it is really important to understand that your trundleQ.png procs a slow. This should be the first cc you try to land on the enemy champion. If I'm coming top lane, I will trundleW.pngfirst to speed myself up and trundleQ.pngto proc the slow. If the enemy champ dashes/or 4.png Use trundleE.pngto prevent escape. Save your 4.pngto finish kill if necessary.

Against crit/strong ad comp. Or against no %hp damage dealers.
    Against heavy AP/MR pen.
If you really need the early game damage

Your build can vary. I usually go warriors/cinderhulk depending on if my team needs the tanky stats. But concept stays the same. You want healing and HP early on, and then build into items with heavy armor/mr stats. (zzrot,GA)
