Summoner Spells Back to Top

Being Twisted Fate has no natural escape abilities cleanse and flash are your two best friends.
An optional choice would also be taking ignite and flash. You probably may want ignite if you're going up against some one with healing capabilities or if you want that kill secured. But cleanse is a must if there is CC/slows on the enemy team, you don't want to get caught out and die. Ghost and flash are great if you need that extra move speed early.

Masteries Back to Top

Being Twisted Fate has no sustained damage, you should focus on your burst which is why Thunder Lord's decree is a better pick, it's easy to proc, and helps you early. I have thought about DFT, but that's for more of a continuous sustain damage mages. As well as the 45% allowing you to spam your Wild Card and Pick A Card more often.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Normal start.
When needing to dodge early game.
    Disadvantage start.

Core Items

Lich Bane, Rabadons, and Boots are a must on Twisted Fate.
This item can be built first depending on the situation, see notes for more info.

Situational Items

These items are built after your core items, most of the time you're probably gonna build Morellos but if you're dealing with some tanky people who have to much MR go Void staff instead.
Last items you select between either Luden Echo, Zhonyas, or Morellos.

When selecting your last item choose if in these situations:
Ludens Echo if you need more Speed/damage.
Zhonyas if you need that invulnerability.
Rod Of Ages if you need to get beefed up to survive longer in 1v1/team fights.

VS

Ahri

Medium

With recent updates Ahri hasn't been to easy to lane against, Cleanse is still needed when going against her. Just farm, and poke her down. Make sure to dodge her Charm and Orb. When you reach six just avoid her and gank a lane, hopefully you get a kill. After that head back to mid, or recall then head back to your tower to prevent it from getting put down. After that rinse and repeat until fed and carry the game.

VS

Akali

Hard

Akali can be beaten, but this is a tough nut to crack. Against Akali you want to farm/keep a distance/and attempt to harass as well as kill her pre-six. When she reaches six be weary of carelessly going up to her. As it only takes her a split second to half hit or just fully nuke you in seconds. When shes low from being poked down at level 6 she will shroud, use your ult or a pink ward then finish her. If you're not snowballed stick to ganking lanes and fighting with your team until you're fed enough to hard carry.

VS

Anivia

Medium

Anivia doesn't really have to get all that close to you and if she stuns you be weary she will go in for her other abilities to hurt you. Your best bet is to poke her down then go in for the kill. During laning if you find you're unable to do anything against her, gank other lanes.

VS

Annie

Medium

Annie early pre-six can be bullied as well as killed. When she has ult be weary of her stunning you with her ult and attempting to go in for the kill, if you get caught; cleanse or flash out and keep a distance while attacking. Gank other lanes if you fail to snowball pre-6.

VS

Azir

Medium

Azir is more of a half/half situation. This solely depends on your ability to position, as you're probably going to be moving around a lot to avoid his soldiers. If anything get your jungler to give you a gank or two and with all that gold you'll be ahead. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Brand

Hard

After the rework, Brand become extremely hard for Twisted Fate to go against, his Pillar Of Flame will be your issue, as its radius is too high up and will destroy you. Should he get his stun off cleanse out of it and run. Don't expect to beat him in lane, if you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Cassiopeia

Hard

After the Cassiopeia rework, her Miasma became an extreme problem. Shoving the wave might be your death indefinitely due to the fact that the Miasma prevents movement spell casts such as Flash or any other dash abilities, which can pose such a issue for the immobile Twisted Fate, and will make you an easy gank for her jungler. Just gank other lanes with Destiny and play passive against her.

VS

Diana

Easy

Bully her early since she's weak pre-6, dodge her Q ability, and keep outta range if she does land her Q level 6, you don't wanna be caught close to her. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Fizz

Hard

Fizz will probably destroy you. Your best bet against him is to out farm him, and bully as much as you can pre-six (completely shut him down as in have the jungler relentlessly destroy his anus with a tent). And then at six keep tabs on him so if he ganks you follow and kill him; never let a FIzz get ahead, never. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes and get them ahead with Destiny.

VS

Heimerdinger

Easy

Farm early, and keep harass/poking him down till you can kill him. Easiest way to win lane against him. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Karthus

Easy

Karthus can be destroyed by you at almost all points in the game, just dodge his Q and keep killing him, simple.

VS

Katarina

Easy

If you're smart about this situation, don't let her freely poke you down with her Q, and always keep enough distance so you're capable of stunning her when she ults, your gold card is like super-mans kryptonite to her; it'll leave her open if you timed/did this all correctly. (distance is your friend remember this)

If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Lissandra

Hard

Lissandra has a gap closer, as well as CC/slow to kill you. Cleanse will be your best friend in this situation, poke her down, farm, and attempt to beat he pre-six as you will need a lead. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Malzahar

Hard

Depending on how well you dodge his abilities you should be able to beat him, the only thing you should be wary about is his ult; try to peel him, if he tries to ult you gold card him during this trade. If done correctly you will have stopped his ultimate. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Orianna

Easy

Pretty much dodging her and out running her is your best bet. She can be beaten if you can dodge and counterattack well. Bully her pre-6. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Veigar

Hard

Early game and mid game it'll be all about dodge his abilities and if needed cleansing out of his stun. Late game when his ultimate will destroy you due to it scaling off how many times he hits you with stuff, Zhonyas is your best friend against him. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Vel'Koz

Hard

Once Vel'Koz lands his knock up it's only a matter of time before he preps his laser of opness ult. Bully him early game, keep a good distance between you and him and poke in order to win. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Viktor

Hard

Cleanse, dodging, and poking are your only chances of winning. Attempt to bully early game as he is a mid/late game champion.

VS

Yasuo

Hard

Yasuo is a counter to Twisted Fate but don't panic. Be logical about this. His shield you want to take off with an AA attack, his Q is in a straight line so dodge going diagonally backward, his wind wall isn't really a wall, you can go around/or straight through it (depending on the situation of course), and his E is his gap closer (position yourself so he'll be at a disadvantage if he Es to you probably near your tower so you can just gold card and destroy him). For his ultimate this is solely on you, whether or not you dodge his tornado. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Zed

Hard

Zed has a ranged poked, slow, and a execution passive as well as a gap closing ultimate/escape. Zhonyas, dodging, jungle assistance, and poking are your only chances of winning. If you fail pre-6 gank other lanes with Destiny.

VS

Ziggs

Easy

With movespeed you can pretty much dodge his abilities and kill him. Ziggs is pretty shit at the moment, so just get your items and snowball. But if you some how manage to fuck up gank other lanes with Destiny.

Team Fights Back to Top

Stun key targets during team fights like the ADC/Mid laner/Extremely fed champion
(Yi for example)
Roam around upon reaching level six. (gank the squishiest lane with the most kill potential)
Stay mobile, and don't get caught.
Position your Wild cards to hit as many people possible.
And make sure to CS as Twisted Fate in order to snowball with his passive, farm it up.
