Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png 14.png         4.png 3.png         4.png 1.png         4.png 21.png

4.png 7.png         4.png 6.png         4.png 12.png

4.png flash
Always take flash. Don't really need to explain this.

14.png ignite
Take ignite if you think your opponent won't cause you any trouble in lane. Try to play very aggro and maybe you could pick up a kill with ignite.

3.png exhaust
Always take exhaust against high burst champions. This will lower their kill potential on you in the early phase and in teamfights. Take exhaust against zed, fizz, yasuo, etc, basically just take exhaust against assasins

1.png cleanse

I normally don't take cleanse, but it can be quite good against enemy teams with a lot of cc or enemy midlaners such as lissandra, lux, annie and veigar. Cleanse DOES NOT remove zed ult or malzahar ult. Most people probably already know this, but i will put it in here just in case.

21.png barrier
I'm not a big fan of barrier, but you could consider taking this against burst heavy champions, such as veigar and leblanc.

7.png heal

I would not recommend taking heal on TF. allthough it heals you for a decent amount, there are just other sums that work better on him. Also a lot of midlaners take ignite which cuts the effectiveness of heal into half.

6.png ghost

Ghost is normally the best summoner to take after flash. it provides you with a big movement speed boost so you can land your gold card easier on enemies trying to escape or it can help you escape out of a sticky situation. It's also decent if you are planning to splitpush.

12.png teleport
Teleport could also work on TF. It lets you influence side lanes more. You basically have 2 ults if you take teleport. Also a small tip if you take tp, try to tp from your base as it gives you a movement speed boost, so you can hunt down the enemy carries.

As you can see, there are a lot of summoners that could work on twisted fate, try to find the summoner you are most comfortable with.

But my recommendation is Flash and Ghost.

Masteries Back to Top

12/18/0

ferocity:

  • always take sorcery for more spell damage.
  • feast will give you more sustain so you can stay in lane longer.
  • natural talent gives you 10 AD and 15 AP. this is better than 2% spell vamp and lifesteal.
  • Take battle trance for more damage overtime. Just don't take double edged sword, as tf is already squishy enough as it is.

cunning:

  • savagery will let you farm easier. But you can take wanderer if you are comfortable with farming.
  • secret stash for more sustain.
  • take merciless because you don't need extra mana sustain, as you have blue card.
  • take dangerous game. It is insane how many times this has saved me from dying to ignite.
  • take precision for more damage.
  • take thunderlords decree for more burst damage.

destiny.png > wildcards.png > pickacard.png > cardmasterstack.png

loaded dice (passive) twistedfatepassive.png

  • you get 1 to 6 bonus gold for killing an enemy unit. you have a higher chance to receive a larger bonus.
  • This could get you about 1000 to 1500 bonus gold in the late game.

wild cards (Q ability) wildcards.png

  • throws 3 cards in a cone towards the target direction.
  • really good spell for clearing minion waves.
  • you can farm from a safe distance if the match up is tough.
  • can be devestating in teamfights, if you can hit as many targets as possible with it.

pick a card (w ability) pickacard.png

  • has 3 cards you can pick: Blue, Red and Gold. The cards also shuffle in this order.
  • Blue card deals the most damage and gives u mana back. this is generally used to sustain your mana. spam blue card as much as possible in lane.
  • Red card deals damage to nearby units and slows their movement speed. Red card is used for waveclearing.
  • Gold card stuns the target
Note: the way you can control pick a card decides whether u are an average tf or a really good tf. for example, if you can select a gold card as fast as possible under high pressure circumstances you could change the outcome of a fight. picking the wrong card in a fight will most likely mean your death.

stacked deck (e ability) cardmasterstack.png

  • Deals bonus magic damage on every fourth aa. (passive)
  • gives bonus attack speed. this can help you increase your dps. (passive)
  • whenever you ult to another lane, always try to have stacked deck up, as it will give u more damage.

destiny (r ability) destiny.png

  • best ultimate in the game. (totally biased)
  • gives vision of all enemy champions, including stealthed.
  • lets you teleport to target location.
  • you can carry very easily if you succesfully use your ultimate.
  • always try to push your lane before you gank a lane, as it will give you more time to get back to lane without missing any minions.

skill sequence:

at level 1 you put a point in w so you have more mobility.

at level 2  pick q against ranged champs and e against melee champs. The reason why I put a point in e against melee champs is so you deal more damage to them while harrassing.

afterwards you put points in R>Q>W>E

VS

Ahri

Medium
  • very high burst potential.
  • good at counterganking with spirit rush.
  • play defensive when she hits 6.

VS

Akali

Medium
  • Early game she is easy to deal with, try to harrass her as much as possible
  • once she hits 6, you have to completely change your playstyle. as she can 100 to 0 you very fast.
  • farm with Q only after she hits 6.
  • try to always have a pink ward for akali's twilight shroud.

VS

Anivia

Medium
  • When you are 6, try to gank bot and top as much as possible.
  • requires a passive playstyle, as her q has a higher range than your w.
  • when you hit 6 try to impact other lanes as much as possible. She won't be able to follow you up, and if she will she will lose a lot for it.

VS

Annie

Medium
  • try to pressurise her as much as possible. so taking ignite in this case could be good to burst her down before she can burst you.
  • if you are still a beginner, you should take cleanse or barrier to deny her burst.
  • build an early abyssal if you play defensive. standard build if you go aggro.
  • try to engage on her when she has just used her stun.

VS

Azir

Medium
  • Azir will constantly push the wave and try to harrass you. ask for help from your team to try and shut him down early.
  • once you hit 6, roam as much as possible. u don't want azir to keep on harrassing you.

VS

Diana

Medium
  • Try to harrass her before level 6.
  • once she is lvl 6, be careful, she can 100 to 0 you very fast.

VS

Fizz

Hard
  • Very hard matchup for twisted fate, as fizz e makes tf's w completely useless.
  • try to bait fizz' e by holding your gold card for a few seconds whenever you decide you want to get close to him.
  • once you hit 6, roam as much as you can.
  • take exhaust

VS

Gangplank

Easy
  • easy matchup for TF. gp can never follow you up when you ult.
  • has his w to remove your stun instantly.
  • you have to be careful, because gp gets a huge powerspike when he hits 2 items.
  • try to permanently keep the lane pushed. But keep aware of where the enemy jungler is ofcourse.

VS

Kassadin

Medium
  • harrass him before lvl 6.
  • his Q negates most of your damage if he times it well.
  • can oneshot you after lvl 6 if you get to close to him

VS

Katarina

Hard
  • just try to get kata banned. She is broken atm.
  • play extremely safe while playing against her. she has a lot of gapclosers and unlike the old kata, has good early game damage.

VS

LeBlanc

Hard
  • Really hard counter
  • can zone you out if she is played well.
  • if she makes life hard for you, try to lasthit with q.

VS

Lissandra

Medium
  • play safe, as lissandra has good synergize with literally every jungler.
  • if you see her e coming towards you, run as fast as you can.
  • cleanse would be good against liss, as it makes her ult useless

VS

Lux

Easy
  • Try to always dodge her q.
  • when she missed her q, that is your sign to run at her and gold card q aa her.

VS

Malzahar

Medium
  • Malzahar will push the lane hard.
  • before throwing your gold card you have to get rid of his passive, as it negates all magic damage and effects.
  • roam as soon as you can.

VS

Orianna

Hard
  • her ball outranges your w.
  • ori is very strong early, try to avoid trades.

VS

Ryze

Medium
  • don't ever try to trade with ryze, unless you are like 5-0.
  • don't stand next to minions, as ryze q can spread to nearby units and deal huge damage.
  • always be aware of ryze' realm warp.

VS

Syndra

Hard
  • Her harrass is really good
  • try to dodge as much as possible
  • when she hits 6, she can 100 to 0 you so play safe
  • try to gank other lanes, as you can gank better than syndra
  • because syndra has no escape, try to communicate with your jungler to burn her sums or kill her

VS

Taliyah

Medium
  • taliyah has a lot of dmg at level 2, so play safe at the start.
  • don't get close to her, as she can seismic shove you towards her to deal devestating damage
  • when you gank a lane, beware of the countergank potential from taliyah with her ult. Works over way round aswell ofcourse. try to followup when she roams.

VS

Varus

Hard
  • outranges you by a big distance
  • buy a lot of movement speed so you can dodge his q's
  • has no escape, so try to get your jungler to gank him
  • your ganks are a lot better than his, try to roam as soon as you can

VS

Veigar

Hard
  • he will oneshot you all day long when he is lvl 6
  • you most likely have to give up farm, dont be tempted to take like 1 or 2 minions if they bring you (to) close to veigar

VS

Vel'Koz

Medium
  • he wil most likely push every single wave with his void rift.
  • try to harrass him with q and w, however, if he lands his E, just turn around and run

VS

Viktor

Hard
  • Horrible matchup, as viktor is a huge lane bully.
  • don't even try to trade with him, as he deals more damage
  • he has no escape, so try to set up a gank

VS

Vladimir

Medium
  • take ignite
  • try to bait his w by holding your gold card a couple of seconds when running towards vlad
  • try to roam as soon as you can

VS

Yasuo

Hard
  • hard matchup, as his windwall blocks all your spells
  • try to bait his windwall by holding gold card and run up to him whenever you think you can kill him
  • take exhaust against yasuo
  • your only goal is to survive laning phase, so you might have to give up some cs

VS

Zed

Hard
  • Hard matchup
  • zed's death mark makes him invulnerable for anything, so he can dodge your W
  • try to bait his ult before throwing your w
  • take exhaust against zed. if it is on cooldown, dont go anywhere near zed

game stages Back to Top

early game

  • farm up as much as you can
  • if you think you can play aggro, play aggro and if you have to play passive, wait for ganks from your jungler
  • spam blue card as much as possible, as it gives you mana back
  • try to land some Q's on the enemy

mid game

  • mid game it's your time to shine
  • you need to have excellent map awareness so you and your team can get the best out of your ultimates
  • try to, whenever your team gets ganked, to ult immediately towards them, so you can countergank and turn the outcome of the battle
  • whenever You think that there is a situation where your gank will not turn out well, DON'T go, keep on farming and wait for better oppertunities to come

late game

  • This is were you become a hero or a zero. you will most likely oneshot all the enemy carries. So whenever you see a chance to catch somebody out, ult towards them and let your team follow up. A great tool for this is zhonya's as you can ult to somebody, throw your gold card and wild cards and immediately press zhonya so they can not kill you and let your team do the rest
  • if you feel like splitpushing is the only way you can win, then do it. tell your team what you are going to do and proceed to bait  all the enemies towards you and you ult away for maximum style points

Teamfighting Back to Top

  • positioning is key in teamfights, stay away from all the enemy damagedealers
  • try to catch the enemy with the most damage (mostly ADC)
  • spam Q as much as possible
  • spam your gold card as much as you can in teamfights
  • if you think you can make a pick, flash gold card the enemy and let your team do the rest

Pros and cons Back to Top

pros

  • Very good waveclear
  • Point click stun
  • huge map presence when u hit 6
  • Ganks can almost never fail
  • good at kiting
  • No mana problems because of blue card
  • good splitpusher

cons

  • A lot of champions "counter" tf
  • Has no escapes
  • is very squishy
  • hard to play against assasins
