Summoner Spells Back to Top

Flash is really a must.

Some things to keep in mind while choosing your second summoner spell:

A good reason to pick barrier on twitch is because there is a little trick with barrier and twitch his ambush. Normally if you are fading into ambush and you get dmg the fade timer will increase to 6 seconds, but if you would block all dmg with barrier that wont happen and you wil get in stealth after 1.5 seconds.

Heal is reduced by 40% when ignited whilst barrier will still block for 100%
You can heal an ally for the same amount as yourself, healing for twice the amount as barrier will block.

Heal grants you and your ally an 30% movement speed boost for engage/escape, Whilst barrier enables the barrier-stealth trick.

the cooldown of heal is 30 seconds longer then the cooldown of barrier.

When you are ambushed you can still cast barrier/flash/cleanse and remaining invisible, whilst healing when invisible will break stealth.

In the end i always go for heal.

VS

Aatrox

Hard

he is hard to peel and he will jump on you.

VS

Ahri

Medium

if you are able to dodge the charm you should also be able to dodge q maybe a sideflash to dodge/kill her

Charm

  • The target will attempt to move toward the source for the duration.
  • If the target does not have vision of the source, they will instead stand still.
  • If the source dies, the effect ends.

VS

Alistar

Easy

can be real annoying if he headbutts you out of the teamfight while your ult is on but is really easy to lane against

VS

Amumu

Medium

His Q is a stun and his R an entangle

Stun

  • The target is unable to control movement, attack or cast abilities.
  • Will interrupt the channeling of abilities.
  • The duration is affected by crowd control reduction.
  • The effect can be removed by all cleansing effects.

Entangle

  • The target is unable to control movement or attack.
    • This includes abilities and summoner spells that move the champion.
    • This will not prevent delayed teleports that have already begun channeling, such as 20px-TwistedFateSquare.png Twisted Fate's 20px-Gate.png Gate. The target will arrive rooted, if the duration permits.
  • Does not interrupt the channeling of abilities.
  • The duration is affected by crowd control reduction.
  • The effect can be removed by all cleansing effects.

Countering

  • Keep your team spread out while engaging 20px-AmumuSquare.png Amumu to avoid his strong area of effect damage and disruptive effect of his 20px-Curse_of_the_Sad_Mummy.png Curse of the Sad Mummy.
    • Attempt to disengage from 20px-AmumuSquare.png Amumu as cleanly as possible after he uses 20px-Curse_of_the_Sad_Mummy.png Curse of the Sad Mummy, heal up, and attack his team again. It is a major source of his power, and if it doesn't lead to a large victory for his team that the enemy can't recover from while it is cooling down, 20px-AmumuSquare.png Amumu, and his team, are much more vulnerable.
  • Use your minions as a shield against initiation with 20px-Bandage_Toss.png Bandage Toss, but be aware that if he grabs a minion near you he can still initiate on you with his 20px-Curse_of_the_Sad_Mummy.png Curse of the Sad Mummy.
  • While 20px-AmumuSquare.png Amumu has very good sustained damage, it requires him to be fairly close to the enemy and he has no inherent methods to stick onto enemies. After he uses his 20px-Bandage_Toss.png Bandage Toss, he can be kited.
  • Amumu lacks an innate ability to heal himself and is most vulnerable to harassment as he cannot sustain himself.
  • Having 20px-Banshee%27s_Veil_item.png Banshee's Veil is an effective way to prevent from getting snared from 20px-Curse_of_the_Sad_Mummy.png Curse of the Sad Mummy. Another cheaper choice would be 20px-Quicksilver_Sash_item.png Quicksilver Sash.
  • If 20px-AmumuSquare.png Amumu is jungling, pick up 20px-Sight_Ward_item.png Sight Wards in your lane to help prevent a potentially deadly fight. If you don't have wards, another great hint that he's ganking is if the opposing team in your lane suddenly turns aggressive, especially in a situation that would put them in a bad position.
    • 20px-AmumuSquare.png Amumu is a champion that especially synergizes well with teammates - as a result, he is fairly weak alone, and he is fairly lacking in the regard of escaping. Many popular junglers are easily able to beat 20px-AmumuSquare.png Amumu in a one-on-one fight - gain control of the river and jungle with wards can allow your jungler to locate and kill him.

VS

Annie

Easy

take cleanse or barrier i often take barrier instead of cleanse if there is little more cc in their team because the burst of annie can be very strong and more often then not a barrier would save your life where a cleanse woudnt. Annies often take ignite in stead of exhaust so if its just annie's cc you are afraid about then id reccomend barrier, you can also buy a banshees veil vs her initiate or try a quick silver sash to escape the initiate. dont be afraid to use cleanse. when you ult you can outrange her easly.

range: 625
movement speed: 335

Her Q and W both have 625 range and tibbers has 600 range + 290 range aura stun(max 790 range)

Countering

  • All of 20px-AnnieSquare.png Annie's spells deal magic damage, therefore any form of magic resistance will mitigate her damage significantly.
    • 20px-Banshee%27s_Veil_item.png Banshee's Veil offers a spell shield to negate 1 spell from 20px-AnnieSquare.png Annie. Its magic resistance and health will help tremendously in surviving 20px-AnnieSquare.png Annie's burst, while also usually blocking Annie's opener, which is typically a stun.
    • 20px-Quicksilver_Sash_item.png Quicksilver Sash is a cheaper alternative, and allows you to block her stun specifically, instead of just one ability.
  • Do not underestimate the damaging aura from 20px-AnnieSquare.png Annie's 20px-Summon-_Tibbers.png Summon: Tibbers. The longer the fight lasts, the more damage you will take from it.
    • Avoid focusing her 20px-TibbersSquare.png Tibbers when attacking 20px-AnnieSquare.png Annie. 20px-TibbersSquare.png Tibbers has a lot of health and damage, and killing 20px-AnnieSquare.png Annie kills 20px-TibbersSquare.png Tibbers as well. Focusing 20px-TibbersSquare.png Tibbers allows 20px-AnnieSquare.png Annie to finish you off with her spells if she is ignored.
      • Do not disregard 20px-TibbersSquare.png Tibbers completely, however. Its attack damage and damaging aura can easily put a tense fight against 20px-AnnieSquare.png Annie in her favor if left to attack you.
    • Alternatively, use ranged attacks and abilities to kill 20px-TibbersSquare.png Tibbers while keeping out of range of Annie's spells, the advantage to this being that 20px-TibbersSquare.png Tibbers will most likely be easier to kill.
    • 20px-TibbersSquare.png Tibbers is considered a minion therefore 20px-Smite.png Smite and champion abilities that work on minions and monsters only (such as 20px-SyndraSquare.png Syndra's 20px-Force_of_Will.png Force of Will20px-NunuSquare.png Nunu's 20px-Consume.png Consume), will work on him as well.
  • 20px-ChoGathSquare.png Cho'Gath that uses 20px-Smite.png Smite and 20px-Feast.png Feast can kill 20px-TibbersSquare.png Tibbers immediately, and gain a stack of health.
  • Be alert for the visual effect that appears when the stun from 20px-Pyromania.png Pyromania is ready.
    • Because 20px-Disintegrate.png Disintegrate refunds mana when used to last hit minions, be cautious around an 20px-AnnieSquare.png Annie using autoattacks on minions. She is likely to have 3 stacks on 20px-Pyromania.png Pyromania and is waiting for someone to engage her. She will cast 20px-Molten_Shield.png Molten Shield, allowing her to stun on her next spell.
    • You can also see her debuff icon when you click on her.
  • 20px-Molten_Shield.png Molten Shield acts like a 20px-Thornmail_item.png Thornmail. Be careful when engaging her.

VS

Ashe

Medium

take cleanse for the easy initiated with the arrow and try to let the creeps block the volley. if her bow shines(or if she has the buff icon) her next attack will crit beware of that

consider taking cleanse if there is more cc

Range: 600
Movementspeed: 325

Countering

  • Beware of 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe's kiting capability. Her 20px-Frost_Shot.png Frost Shot combined with 20px-Volley.png Volley will keep you from reaching her.
  • Although 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe is a great harasser during the laning phase, her low health is a great disadvantage. Putting pressure on her can keep her zoned.
  • 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe is an unusual ADC, lacking any form of attack damage or attack speed steroid, however, 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe strength relies in something that almost every other ADC lacks or has mediocrity: Utility, 20px-Enchanted_Crystal_Arrow.png Enchanted Crystal Arrow alone packs a stun, something unique and very rare for ADCs, as well as having a sort of 20px-Frozen_Mallet_item.png Frozen Mallet in 20px-Frost_Shot.png Frost Shot .
    • Due to this 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe's ability to gank or assist in a gank is the best for any ADC in game, watch out if paired with strong gankers such as 20px-HecarimSquare.png Hecarim or  20px-NautilusSquare.png Nautilus as they will simply CC lock you until you die.
  • If 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe starts to chain attack you with 20px-Frost_Shot.png Frost Shot , you will most likely not be able to escape if you lack a dash or a blink (even with those, fear the 20px-Enchanted_Crystal_Arrow.png Enchanted Crystal Arrow).
  • Being tied for the lowest movement speed for champions in the game leaves 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe vulnerable to skillshots.
  • 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe has little to no defensive capabilities. Use this to your advantage. However, she can slow you constantly as long as she has mana, so wait before she is low before you go in to kill.
    • Gap-closers can quickly take advantage of this, since her slows cannot counter them.
  • Watch for when 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe uses her 20px-Hawkshot.png Hawkshot. This tells what part of the map her team has no vision of.
    • At the same time, beware for the inverse. You might be tricked into thinking an area is unwarded because she just used her 20px-Hawkshot.png Hawkshot, while it was just used to lure you there after the effects wore off.
  • The most unique part of 20px-AsheSquare.png Ashe's kit is 20px-Enchanted_Crystal_Arrow.png Enchanted Crystal Arrow , giving her a significant nuke and much appreciated hard CC (for an ADC this is extremely rare), simultaneously, she is quite dependent on her ultimate, so if you force her to burn it for an escape she is loosing a large portion of her power and ganking abilities

VS

Blitzcrank

Easy

positioning is key.  you can take a lvl in ambush early if he just walks at you to initiate. try to always position yourself behind a creep or let your teammate bodyblock his pull. you can also use your trinket to ward their side bush in lane.
if he uses his speed boost and runt towards you just ambush away

VS

Caitlyn

Medium

you have to survive until you have enough sustain to counter her poke or you need to all in her before she has poked you down you will get stronger after lvl 6 and you should use your ambush before initiated to close the range gap between you. try to avoid her skillshots/traps and aware of the headshot passive. if she starts to pokes you try to shoot back. expundge her before she gets an headshot proc and walk away. you will outscale her

you will get used to this matchup because 8/10 ppl pick cait vs twitch

range: 650
Movementspeed: 325

Root(E)

  • The target is unable to control movement.
    • This includes abilities and summoner spells that move the champion.
  • Does not interrupt the channeling of abilities.
  • The duration is affected by crowd control reduction.
  • The effect can be removed by all cleansing effects.

VS

Corki

Medium

he is squishy has tons of burst and has a lot of poke after 6. you can try to burst him very early with the right support but even then you should be aware of his sick burst potential.

his q will reveal you but only for 6 seconds.

you will have a stronger late game

VS

Draven

Medium

he has tons of dmg he will outtrade you if he has his axes up. try to learn the mechanics of his axes and let him drop them.

Dont go overly aggressive pick your fights and remember that if you go in you probably cant go back. late game you will do alot of aoe dmg he will have alot of single target dmg.

Range 550
Movement speed: 330

Knock Aside (E) + Slow: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40%

  • The target is made airborne in a direction tangent from the source.
You can save your low-health allies from being hit by 20px-Whirling_Death.png Whirling Death by intercepting the axes' path. This will cause the axe to return to 20px-DravenSquare.png Draven instead of continuing to move further.
The axe will also return when you are hit when invissible

VS

Fiddlesticks

Medium

you can win early vs fiddlesticks because he is very squishy.
you can avoid his ult by warding the side bushes.
but he will always be a pain whith his  seconds fear(if maxed reached at lvl 7) fiddle needs 3 lvls in fear to land ult .

oh yea and you get a debuff if you are in range of fiddle even if he is not in vision
cleanse and maybe tenacity boots/zephyr woudnt be  to bad

VS

Fizz

Hard

buy ga he will burst you thru the whole game

VS

Galio

Medium

tenacity boots will enable you to run out of ult before dmg comes(he can realease early though) and or cleanse could work. everything is dodge able and he can shield a person for 90 armor so keep that in mind

VS

Graves

Medium
Graves is fairly tanky for a aadc so trading early can cause minions to outdmg you.

Range: 525

Movementspeed: 330

Countering

  • One of 20px-GravesSquare.png Graves' strengths is his burst. Try to avoid his high burst and take advantage of his high cooldowns during the early game.
    • Also note that 20px-GravesSquare.png Graves' auto attack is fairly short (525 range), use this as your advantage.
  • Consider investing in early armor to mitigate his damage at early game.
  • Try to spread your team out, to minimize the damage from 20px-Collateral_Damage.png Collateral Damage.
  • Quickly move out of 20px-GravesSquare.png Graves's 20px-Smoke_Screen.png Smokescreen. The debuff only last when you are inside the AoE.
    • Also, save your spells until outside of 20px-Smoke_Screen.png Smokescreen as the vision loss can lead to the loss of your target.
    • If you are a champion that plans to cast a supportive ability on an ally, considering staying close to the ally so that 20px-Smoke_Screen.png Smokescreen cannot stop you from seeing them and thus casting onto them.
  • Avoid extended skirmishes with 20px-GravesSquare.png Graves as he gains armor and magic resistance as the battle rages on from 20px-True_Grit.png True Grit. The bonus armor and magic resist can change an expected kill to a close call.

VS

Janna

Medium

you can still shoot her when you both ult. she is squishy and you could try to burst her before taking to much dmg

VS

Jinx

Medium

evade his w(zap) it gives vision and does alot of dmg. his snares are not instant and if he tried to trade trade back you can win it if you evade zap. if tanky support let him body-block his ult while fighting. and if not don't stay to close. this is a skill lane / dependent on support.

Range 525 (q range increase: 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 / 175 )
Movement speed: 325

E Slow: 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70%

Root

  • The target is unable to control movement.
    • This includes abilities and summoner spells that move the champion.
  • Does not interrupt the channeling of abilities.
  • The duration is affected by crowd control reduction.
  • The effect can be removed by all cleansing effects.

Countering

  • Try to dodge her snare grenades as they are her only disengaging ability.
  • When laning against Jinx, try not to stand too close to your own minions. Your opponent will hit them with their rockets, damaging you for the same amount.
  • As against any global-range skillshot champ, don't stand in predictable places (just behind a turret) when teleporting back to base (from any lane) and avoid running back in a straight line.
  • If forced out of lane, immediately ask for assistance: Jinx can take a tower down from full health to zero in an extremely short period, even without high damage items (if Q is maxed first).
  • In teamfights, try and get your high mobilty, high damage champions like Kassadin and Ezreal to focus her down, but be wary of her snares and her fellow teammates.
  • standing behind your tank will help a lot, as most of Jinx's abilities are skillshots.
  • Because of her lack of mobility, a 20px-Randuin%27s_Omen_item.png Randuin's Omen is an effective way to counter her huge DPS. Paired with someone like 20px-LeeSinSquare.png Lee Sin, an assasin with huge chase potential, it becomes quite easy to kill her.

VS

Kog'Maw

Easy

You are worth more then him in any stage of the game.
care for the true vision he gives whith his ult

VS

Lee Sin

Hard

lee can grant vision on you while steathed.

VS

Lucian

Medium

Hard early, dont let im q dirrectly on you and dont let a minion stand between you(in other words; avoid his poke) try to cask him after his E or force him to E.

you will have a better late

Range: 500
movement speed: 330

Countering

  • Early game, 20px-LucianSquare.png Lucian's passive 20px-Lightslinger.png Lightslinger grants him a lot trading potential. Try to avoid getting hit when he has the effect ready.
  • Dodging 20px-Piercing_Light.png Piercing Light during the 0.35 second delay, with fast reactions or an ability like20px-VayneSquare.png Vayne's20px-Tumble.png Tumble, is a good way to lower 20px-LucianSquare.png Lucian's damage output.
    • Also, try to not stand in a line with allied minions and 20px-LucianSquare.png Lucian, as it denies him every chance to line up a shot.
  • Be careful when you are hit by 20px-Ardent_Blaze.png Ardent Blaze: now affected by the spell's mark, 20px-LucianSquare.png Lucian can easily engage with the bonus movement speed.
  • 20px-LucianSquare.png Lucian's only real escaping ability (besides summoner spells like 20px-Flash.png Flash) is 20px-Relentless_Pursuit.png Relentless Pursuit. Try to gank 20px-LucianSquare.png Lucian a short time after he uses the spell, since the cooldown gives a substantial timeframe in which he is vulnerable to ganks.
  • Remember that 20px-Relentless_Pursuit.png Relentless Pursuit will clean any slow on 20px-LucianSquare.png Lucian, keep that in mind before using powerful slows such as 20px-Wither.png Wither or 20px-Exhaust.png Exhaust.
  • Altough 20px-The_Culling.png The Culling's damage may seem to be terrifying, moving sideway can help dodging at least a few shots, because the angle of fire cannot be altered once chosen.
    • Alternatively, using any form of hard CC, such as a stun will cancel it.
      • However, a silence will not cancel it.
    • The extra damage on minions makes running behind them not a good strategy although will block a few hits.

VS

Lulu

Medium

She can ruin your ult by trasforming you and she will poke early alot.
she also has a vision skill.

VS

Lux

Medium

dont get caught and often if she is ap mid and you 1v1 you will only win by sideflashing her q/e and expundging her

VS

Miss Fortune

Easy

no escape and imo twitchult>missfortuneult> use the advantage you have over her, you can reposition while landing alot of aoe dmg. care for the grieves wounds and dont catch too many double upps

VS

Nocturne

Medium

when he ults you should ambush asap and run

VS

Sivir

Easy

dont expunge while her spell shield is up and you are fine.

range:500
movement speed:335

Countering

  • Sivir is fairly squishy in the lane. Putting a pressure on her can make her underfarmed or underleveled.
    • Keep in mind that she is very resilient to zone because of her 20px-Spell_Shield.png Spell Shield, and being too aggressive might make it easier for her to land 20px-Boomerang_Blade.png Boomerang Blade.
  • Sivir deals entirely physical damage.
  • Avoid taking free damage from her 20px-Boomerang_Blade.png Boomerang Blade, by moving out of its path.
    • If you can't dodge it, staying behind your minion wave will mitigate some of the damage.
    • Also, keep in mind that 20px-Boomerang_Blade.png Boomerang Blade will return to Sivir after reaching its max range. Being at it's max range could be advantageous in that it's a slow projectile, making it easier to dodge, but could also be a disadvantage due to the projectile hitting both the throw and return strike very quickly.
  • Wait until 20px-SivirSquare.png Sivir's 20px-Spell_Shield.png Spell Shield is on cooldown before activating your high-damaging spell. Bait her into using it by acting as if you're going to cast on her, but don't cast.
  • Sivir is often very attack speed oriented. As a tank, grabbing a 20px-Frozen_Heart_item.png Frozen Heart or 20px-Randuin%27s_Omen_item.png Randuin's Omen can be a very effective counter her, and champions like 20px-MalphiteSquare.png Malphite and 20px-GragasSquare.png Gragas, who can slow attack speed, are also nice counter-picks to her.
  • Although Sivir is a carry, she is still fairly powerful early game. Her 20px-Boomerang_Blade.png Boomerang Blade hits hard if she lands both portions on you exclusively, and her 20px-Ricochet.png Ricochet and 20px-Spell_Shield.png Spell Shield are specialized for one-on-one skirmishing. Taking her head-on without heavy armor or hit points can result in a long trip back from your nexus.

VS

Skarner

Medium

Be sure to buy QSS midgame

VS

Sona

Easy

Try to kill her early you will pnly need 2 aa's +cask and expundge depends on her runes but it wont variate that much. consider taking cleanse for after 6

VS

Soraka

Easy

VS

Taric

Medium

easy to hit stun, alot of armor, some sustain and armor reduction. learn his stun range and stay at max range so he cant get in melee range

VS

Teemo

Hard

annoying blind 1,5 seconds

VS

Thresh

Medium

keep sides warded and avoid being in direct contact whith him. always have someone bodyblock for you while trading or stand behind creeps. he is often too squishy and you can poke him down alot when he goes for souls

VS

Tristana

Easy

good disengage good all in and he applies grieves wounds so time your trades. he scales very good but you do too

VS

Tryndamere

Hard

hard to peel and very annoying BUT if you have 6 stacks on him when he ults he will die unless he gets some free lifesteal of aa's

VS

Twisted Fate

Hard

(ult)he wil vision you in teamfights, and if they have great communication in laning.
he can initiate with his stun.

VS

Urgot

Medium
dont get hit with his cask and you can win trades but its hard to disengage because of his slows he can also misposition you with his ult. try to avoid q and if he likes to ult you QuickSilverSash(mercurial scimitar) it and watch how a carry suppresses himself while his enemy keeps shooting.

Urgot s Q has a 1000 range ( 1200 when locked) on a 2 second cooldown. his
Auto attacks have only 425 range. they both prox his passive(Urgot's autoattacks and Acid Hunter reduce all damage that his target deals by 15% for 2.5 seconds.)
early game he will run out of mana quickly so try to keep track of his mana and engage when he is oom.
Be mindful of 20px-UrgotSquare.png Urgot's ultimate, as you or your team can quickly be pulled into danger. Prevent this by having spell block/cancel items such as 20px-Banshee%27s_Veil_item.png Banshee's Veil or 20px-Quicksilver_Sash_item.png Quicksilver Sash.

Suppression

  • The target is unable to control movement, attack, cast abilities or summoner spells (including cleanse).
  • Will interrupt channeled abilities.
  • The duration is not affected by crowd control reduction.
  • The effect can be removed by all cleansing effects, except 20px-Cleanse.png Cleanse (since Suppression prevents summoner spell use).
  • mikael doesnt remove suppression either

Slow

  • The target has reduced movement speed.
  • Does not interrupt the channeling of abilities.
  • The duration is affected by crowd control reduction.
  • The effect can be removed by all cleansing effects.

VS

Varus

Medium

he has hard poke and the snare helps him to stay in range. be aware that his e applies grieves wounds that means you get 50% less healing effects

Range: 575
Movement speed: 330

Root

  • The target is unable to control movement.
    • This includes abilities and summoner spells that move the champion.
  • Does not interrupt the channeling of abilities.
  • The duration is affected by crowd control reduction.
  • The effect can be removed by all cleansing effects.

Countering

  • Avoid being caught by 20px-Chain_of_Corruption.png Chain of Corruption. Fanning out from a caught ally in teamfights will break the tether and minimize the disruption it causes to you.
  • When Varus begins to charge 20px-Piercing_Arrow.png Piercing Arrow, he will slow down and draw his bow back. He cannot perform any other action while in this stance and his movement speed is reduced, so take advantage of this time to juke the shot or close the distance on him.
  • 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus lacks the mobility that many other AD carries possess, which means he is more vulnerable than most to errant crowd controls and gank attempts, and also means he has trouble fleeing from diving champions in teamfights. A single snare can be a death sentence for him.
    • Much like the case of 20px-JinxSquare.png Jinx who also lacks movility but compensates with very high steroids and nukes20px-VarusSquare.png Varus benefits from one of the highest burst among all marksmen and extremely long range damage. As his burst depends on skillshots keeping yourself constantly on the move will keep you safer.
  • 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus' lack of mobility mechanics also means he can have difficulty avoiding skillshots. Being a skillshot-based champion himself, he also has difficulty with mobile champions like 20px-EzrealSquare.png Ezreal, 20px-VayneSquare.png Vayne, or 20px-GravesSquare.png Graves as they all have the means to dodge his spells.
  • Once Varus has used 20px-Piercing_Arrow.png Piercing Arrow and 20px-Hail_of_Arrows.png Hail of Arrows, he will be unable to detonate 20px-Blighted_Quiver.png Blighted Quiver stacks for several seconds. It may be a good idea to engage him after you see him use those two abilities.
  • Being hit by 20px-Hail_of_Arrows.png Hail of Arrows reduces your champion's healing and regeneration, so save any healing abilities until you have exited the desecrated zone.
  • Although 20px-Chain_of_Corruption.png Chain of Corruption can be very disruptive to many champions, neither it nor any of 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus' other abilities will interrupt channels. Champions with powerful channeled abilities such as 20px-FiddlesticksSquare.png Fiddlesticks and 20px-NunuSquare.png Nunu can freely cast their abilities without fear of having their channels discontinued.
  • 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus's 20px-Hail_of_Arrows.png Hail of Arrows only deals damage once on impact. When fighting 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus 1v1, don't be afraid of standing inside the Desecrated Ground unless the reduced healing/movement speed will significantly hurt your capabilities.
  • Watch out for 20px-Piercing_Arrow.png Piercing Arrow when 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus fully charges it, especially if you have several stacks of 20px-Blighted_Quiver.png Blighted Quiver, as you will receive formidable damage.
  • 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus becomes more dangerous after he has scored a kill. If time and positioning permits, it is wise to let his passive attack speed bonus wear off before reengaging on him.
    • During the laning phase, wait for his bonus attack speed from killing a minion to wear off before committing to a skirmish with him. Doing so while his bow glows red can be a dangerous maneuver, as in tandem with 20px-Blighted_Quiver.png Blighted Quiver, 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus can quickly outtrade most other autoattacking champions.
    • In teamfights, it is easy for 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus to obtain a great attack speed bonus for scoring a kill or assist, signified by his bow glowing a light silver-purple. As a teamfight often does not allow a team to quickly disengage to let this bonus wear off, it strongly encourages good positioning and teamwork to avoid any deaths letting 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus snowball his advantage.
  • If 20px-VarusSquare.png Varus builds ability power, which is pretty rare, he suffers under an extremly weak early game as he has no real damaging ability besides the passive of his 20px-Blighted_Quiver.png Blighted Quiver. As the game proceeds, however, he will get more dangerous and can deal immense amounts of damage, especially to your tanks. Try to take him down immediatly after a teamfight started to prevent from him stacking his blight and detonating it with 20px-Chain_of_Corruption.png Chain of Corruption.
    • This is even more important when he posesses a 20px-Runaan%27s_Hurricane_item.png Runaan's Hurricane, as he can stack blight onto your whole team and trigger it with his ultimate, dealing high percentage numbers of everyone's maximum health as magic damage.

VS

Vayne

Easy

you can dominate him in each stage of the game if you can just avoid to be knocked back against a wall.

VS

Vi

Hard

VS

Warwick

Medium

his ult can be a nice initiate on you.
Try not to be under 50% or he will get an insane movement spike

Buying a 20px-Banshee%27s_Veil_item.png Banshee's Veil can force 20px-WarwickSquare.png Warwick to get closer to you in order to use 20px-Hungering_Strike.png Hungering Strike to break your spell shield before using his ultimate.

Try to use 20px-Executioner%27s_Calling_item.png Executioner's Calling or 20px-Ignite.png Ignite on him in every teamfight to counter his high sustain.

  • Also mikael crucible does not work vs warwick.

Quick-cast / smart-cast

I recommend the following set-up;

Q - Disabled

W - Enabled

E - Disabled

R - Disabled

D - Disabled (barrier/cleanse/heal)

F - Disabled (flash)

Trinket - Enabled

QSS - Disabled

*ps: If you havn't checked the [show range indicator's] checkbox in the keybindings menu then you should have everything on smartcast. I personally prefer to see the range indicators with smartcast and disable it for auto-attack modifiers or autocast spells.

*pps i actually have everything on other key bindings but this rule would still apply on other keys. If the spell is not targeted or a skillshot quick cast would only delay the cast because it would activate the spell on release not on pressing the button
