I prefer fervor because it works so well with her E. After a long fight with the enemy team (if they survive that long) you can recall all your feathers and it gets all the added AD from fervor which will make them nuke for even more than they already do.

I'm still experimenting with these abilities at the moment, I know for sure he E is the strongest ability but I'm not sure if the W or Q is stronger. I think the Q is more of a utility spell for setting up E rather than a damage source. Overall I would say E>W>Q is the best.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Your standard AD start is fine with Xayah, she doesn't have a weak lane phase so no reason to go a cull.
    Always try and back with your bilgewater cutlass on your first back, it's a very strong buy especially if your enemy doesn't get a B.F or a cutlass themselves.
    I like to start this against Cait/Draven gives you the extra pots to survive early lane phase and let's you get your lifesteal sooner.

Core Items

    Her core is going to be Blade of the ruined king and Hurricane. Hurricane is extremely strong on her because of how it works with her W.
    Build Ninja Tabi if they have a more AD orientated team. If not you can go with the normal (or not so normal as of now) Beserkers.
    Most of the time you're going to go a Lord Donminik's regards but you can also go mortal reminder if they have a Vlad or any other healer.
    This is an example final build, You may not have to go a defensive or may go a different one if they have not so scary hard CC. But this just an example.

VS

Ashe

Medium

This matchup is completely reliant on you dodging her ult or using your ult to avoid it. You can beat her early game with smart use of your feathers.  If you can try and fight her when her W is down to avoid her burst of damage. It's best to fight her before she is 6 because you can out trade her most of the time. Do not fight her in long fights she will win

VS

Bard

Medium

This is hard depending on if the bard is good, if he lands his stuns you will just get bursted down depending on what the enemy AD is. If you catch him you will just 100-0 him though to play an aggro support and get a snare and kill him.

VS

Braum

Medium

He gives you a hard time due to the fact he makes your passive almost useless when he has his wall up. If you're against Braum put extra emphasis on kiting back so that they run past your feathers and set themselves up to be bursted by your E. Other than that though he isn't too bad make sure you use your ult on his, shouldn't be too hard to dodge it has a pretty clear animation when he is using it.

VS

Caitlyn

Hard

This is hard for the same reason Caitlyn beats every other low range AD. She will just poke you down and it's almost impossible to trade back. The only way you can win this match up is a bad play by her or if you have a hard CC support that can hold her down while you burst her down. If not just wait until 6 and straight up fight her 2v2 with your ult for a snare and to prep some feathers for burst.

VS

Draven

Hard

This match up is very hard for Xayah, she has a hard time with his straight up burst due to her having to set up her feathers. If for some reason you can get some free autos off before he can auto back you can probably beat him. Your best bet is probably to just wait until 6 and CC and burst him with your ult.

VS

Ezreal

Medium

You do about the same amount of damage as him, both of you have a strong attack speed steroid. The main difference is all of his damage is based on him landing his Q's you have to land your feathers so basically the person who dodges/pays more attention to feathers wins.

VS

Janna

Easy

Very easy to kill her if you catch her out of position just Q and auto once to snare her then burst her down. She is very squishy so she shouldn't give you too much trouble depending on who your support is.

VS

Jhin

Easy

Pretty easy match up overall, you have a lot of time to stack up feathers because of his slow attack speed early on in the game. You should be able to stack most of your feathers and burst him with E before he can kill you with 4th shot.

VS

Kog'Maw

Medium

If you can juke his ult's this is a very easy match up early on, he doesn't have the DPS to duel you until later in the game so as long as you keep him down early on he won't have a chance going into the mid game. A shut down Kog'Maw is a useless Kog'Maw so playu hyper aggressive early on and keep him shut down going into the mid game for hopefully an easy win.

VS

Lucian

Medium

This match up is weird, you can easily out damage him but you have to wait until you he uses E and then line up your feathers and just burst him down. He does about the same burst as you so this one may come down to the supports. I've only played with Rakans so far and he seems like a great shut down for Lucian because you're able to get a bunch of free feathers set up before he can dash.

VS

Nami

Easy

She's an easy catch but if she is paired with a Cait/Ashe you're going to have a really bad time CSing because you're going to get out ranged and poked out of lane constantly. Try and get a healing support or an all in support to all in her because she is very squishy, Or just wait for a gank

VS

Soraka

Easy

Just try and catch her with a few feathers and you will be able to burst her down quickly and then kill the enemy AD. This match up is completely based on which AD the enemy picks but Soraka herself shouldn't give you too many problems due to most of your damage being all in rather than poke.

VS

Thresh

Hard

Due to your low range he gives you some problems paired with a high damage AD. If you dodge his abilities you should be able to chunk him for quite a bit of his HP. Just try and trade back when he walks up to flay you or misses a hook.

VS

Tristana

Easy

She doesn't have the damage to duel with you until later in the game and even then you can probably still beat her if you can get in range before she get's autos in. Play very aggro and get a lead early on.

VS

Vayne

Easy

I've went again Vayne a couple times and although none were particularly note worthy I've won lane every time. It seems you can just straight up out damage her, if she positions well and dodges feathers I think it may be a close matchup but otherwise you should just win by positioning your feathers well.

VS

Xayah

Easy

It's all about who uses their feathers better in this matchup.

About Xayah Back to Top

Xayah is a special case for a marksman, she if the first to be given an ultimate that will make her untargetable. This allows for so much outplay potential. It can be used to dodge ults, dodge a killing blow, and damage an enemy. If you have quick reactions and can use her ult to its full potential you can make many fights one sided. This is also why I believe she will be one of the best 1v1 champions in the game. But I'll explain more about that down below. Overall It think she will be quite powerful if you can get over her low range, and kite effectively.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
xayahpassive.png When you use an ability your next 3 autos will penetrate all enemies in the path. Don't forget that you can throw your feathers through a minion to harass the enemy.
xayahq.png Xayah's Q is quite simple, she throws two feathers in a straight line that penetrate all enemy's. Although some are maxing this I do not believe it is the correct thing to max due to the fact that when you use it most of the time you're going to be Q'ing through minions which lowers the damage. I believe this will be more as a tool to get your feathers from your passive rather than a reliable damage source.
xayahw.png Xayah's W is what I think will make her one of the best duelers in the game. Not only is it an attack speed steroid but it also increases the damage dealt and gives you a huge burst of move speed. This will allow her to kite the enemy for years if she is played correctly and you can dodge the hard CC the enemy throws at you. The 20% damage steroid also increases your crits damage which is why I believe the standard AD build of crit will work best on her, rather than the new Blade of the ruined king, Black cleaver build.
xayahe.png Xayah's E is what the champion seems to be built around, all those feathers you've been throwing out actually have a use, and it's quite a nice one. When she uses her E all the feathers you've been tossing around the map will fly back to you and pierce all enemys they encounter on the way. If at least 3 feathers hit an enemy they will be rooted. This ability will be your main source of CC and burst. You should always try and maximize the amount of feathers that will pierce the enemy, think kalista when you're playing Xayah, you have to think ahead of time "will my feathers finish off my enemy". If so simply press E and watch as they disappear.
xayahr.png Xayah's R is one of my favorite abilities in the game it has so many uses both offensively  and defensively. Most of the time you're going to want to save it to dodge the enemy's main damaging ability or hard CC. But it can also be used to line up your feathers for an easier root and burst of damage.
Stages of the game Back to Top
Early Game
Early game game is a very strong point for Xayah, your level 2 and level 3 are very powerful. Start Q and try and get some early poke in, as soon as you hit 2 all in with your Q>E combo (Q,Auto,E). Make sure your support is also on the the same page as you. That combo will be your basic combo for snaring the enemy throughout the game. Try not to spam Q too much in lane phase to conserve mana, it's much easier to harass with W and penetrate the minions to harass the enemy then call back the E for a huge burst of damage. Later in the lane phase try and pressure the dragon with your jungler and because you can do the dragon quite quickly by stacking feathers and using your E to burst it.
Mid Game
Team fighting with Xayah is where I think she shines the most. If you set up your feathers and call them back to the correct spot you can completely blow up the enemy team. Her penetrating auto attacks can completely blow up the enemy team and if you combo it with CC you have more than enough time to set up your feathers too. All of this starts with knowing how to set up your feathers though so that is where I will start.
Her'es a good example of knowing where your feathers are and using them correctly.
Knowing how many and where you feathers are can completely catch an enemy off guard if they're not paying attention to the ones you have. Teamfights are where you're going to have the most trouble playing Xayah, she is very long range so you have to pay attention to where they enemy is going and which hard CC spells they have used. Generally you want to wait for them to focus on your front line before moving up. Once you see they are committed to attacking someone else rotate your spells to get as many feathers out as possible.
Here is the combo you should be using when in teamfights:
xayahq.png---->AAx2 (At least)---->xayahw.png---->AAx5---->xayahe.png ORxayahr.png
If you're in a good position to ult after getting your 8 feathers out you can ult and increase the damage even more. This is the basic combo you're going to use most of the time. Sometimes you may use your W first but generally you want to at least Q and auto so you're getting as many feathers as possible.
Late Game
Going into late game is very similar to the mid game except that you do insane amounts of damage, at this point a few feathers is enough to kill any squishy. Just keep track of your feathers and play the fights safe and slow and eventually you'll have an opportunity to get a huge E and win the fight in just a few seconds. Make sure you're watching for things to dodge with your ultimate.
