Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png So flash, of course always essential, especially nice on Yasuo as it allows for one more layer of depth to his kit, so more big plays. This is also very useful for escapes as yasuo is very vulnerable to ganks, because he has very short range and will often push the wave out when trading, as your E will cause for the wave to be pushed hard.

1.png  I like to take cleanse in match ups or against comps with high cc, which can't be blocked with your wall. For example lissandra and shen. Not required against lux or tf as windwall will easily deal with their hard cc. However cleanse requires good reactions and is definitely the hardest summoner spell to use effectively because if you use it too early, you will get no bonus from it apart from the tenacity after.

3.png Exhaust is good against laners which can easily out burst you, so assassins. I would recommend it against fizz, zed and talon, but it isn't essential as a large amount of their burst can be easily avoided with perfect wind wall. This is very risky however so don't rely on your ability to out play as if you misplay and fall behind in these match ups it will be devastating.

14.png I recommend taking ignite in comfortable match ups as it allows for an easier snow ball to start early. The grievous wounds component also gives you increased duel ability against champions with large heals such as Volibear and Dr Mundo.

12.png Teleport should only usually be taken top as a lot of the match ups can be tough and Teleport allows for increased map presence. Yasuo has very good TP roams to lanes with knockups such as nami, kalista and alistar. A well timed teleport can easily turn a double kill for the enemy team into a huge advantage for you. Make sure you learn to time it well with a lot of practice as mistiming can cause for the situations to get worse such as an enemy triple kill, or your team missing out on a kill as you scared them away with your teleport.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

Ferocity

Fury:The attack speed is very useful as it reduces Q cd and yasuo is AA based.

Feast: I often like to take feast in some of the more challenging match ups, as I think it's much more important to be able to survive the laning phase than to deal that extra damage from double edge sword.

Double Edge Sword: As yasuo is melee and is all about big damage this allows for  great mid to late game, but feast is better if you want to survive lane.

Vampirism: This allows Yasuo to survive through the laning phase and the crits give you decent heals even with only 2% lifesteal, as Yasuo has very few ap scalings so natural talent isn't too useful.

Bounty Hunter: On yasuo you should be trying to kill as many people as possible and he has very little CC so gains close to nothing from oppresor in lane and bounty hunter scales better

Of course armour penetration is better than magic peneetration, unless you want shiv proc and sweeping blade to deal tons of damage........

I personally prefer fervor over warlords as fervor offer so much damage and yasuo can get full fervor stacks very easily, this is 114 ad on hit at level 18,  which is close to 3 bf swords. This damage also applies on the first target hit by your Q but doesn't get amplified with crit. This allows for very good tank killing and huge sustained damage but isn't as good as thunderlords for bursting down targets.

Warlords allows yasuo to easily sustain through poke heavy lanes with a couple of dorans blades, warlords, vampirism and feast, so very good against hard lane match ups. It also means that you don't need life steal in your build if you still want to be able to sustain. This will make you harder to kill as long as you are auto attacking and using your Q, but Walords offers no damage.

Cunning

Wanderer allows for better roaming and yasuo has no problems last hitting.

Assassain gives you good damage boost in duelling situations.

Dangerous game allows you to easily finish off targets with a kill combo

Penetration is far better on yasuo than cdr as only his R and W scale with cdr and penetration allows you to deal with tanks even more easily

Thunderlords gives you great burst and synergises well with static shiv if you want to snowball hard and get some early kills. This will be better in match ups which I have marked as easy in the match ups section as it is the worst of the three keystones late game.

Resolve

Recovery gives you some nice regen allowing you to survive the laning phase a bit better, unyielding can however be better to have a few points into if youre not too worried about laning phase and plan on building afew tanky items

Tough skin allows for you to take less damage from irritating laners and unless you plan on really roaming alot explorer wont offer too much.

Runic armour synergises very well with afew things on yasuo as they either offer shields or regen such as: passive shield, bloodthirster, steraks gage and afew others

Neither perseverance insight have any particular synergies with yasuo, so its your choice either flashier plays, or improved regen

Swiftness is essential if youre going down this far into the resolve tree as CC is one thing which really destroys yasuo so if you can reduce that then its a great advantage

Grasp of the undying is really nice top and provides some nice sustain and damage during the laning phase, it also procs off of your q is a champion is the first target. I like to take this if my team a lacking a tank or i will be needing some help trading against my laner, in match ups such as trundle or maplhite

Yasuo's abilities

In this section I'm not going to say what each ability does, I'm going to say more detailed strengths and weakness and how they affect Yasuo as a champion.

Passivepassive.PNG

The first part of Yasuo's passive is double critical strike chance with reduced critical strike damage. I know so broken waa waa, this allows Yasuo to have these crazy mid game power spikes but stops him from ever doing as much sustained damage as a normal ADC.
The resolve shield acts as a buffer if used correctly in early trading as it can block a substantial amount of damage and if used correctly can give easy trades against even the toughest match ups, it also protects you well against high burst champions.

Steel Tempest (Q)

q.PNG
This is Yasuo's main ability, the samurai sword. As awesome as this ability is I usually only recommend maxing it second. When you first play Yasuo I think it is better to Q max as it's a far easier ability to use than E and you will have enough to worry about with caring whether E is on a .5 or .1 second cooldown. Yasuo only requires 56% attack speed at level 18 to have the cooldown capped. In lane ensuring that you have tornado up for as long as possible will give you maximum lane presence, as the enemy laner will have to respect the long range poke and/or ult. Play passive just after using the tornado as this is when it will take the longest amount of time for you to be able to ultimate your target again with out your teams assistance. Try to use the E + third Q combo as it allows for you to easily knock up your target without your knockup being side stepped.  It also is a partial basic attack reset so AA then Q.

Wind Wall (W)

w.PNG

Everyone's favourite ability. I've not got much to say just wait to use it, make sure you don't spam it at any old Volibear or Jax as the enemy and allies will know you have potato brains. It is only crazy strong when placed in the correct place at the right time. As very little is gained after one point, max this last.

Sweeping Blade (E)

e.PNG

This is one of the hardest abilities in the game, I know its just one ability but mastery of sweeping blade is only found among the Yasuo gods. Just because it has 60% AP scaling doesn't mean you should build Luden's Echo... or any other AP item for that matter. As the damage and cool down gets better with more ranks it is best to max this ability first and it allows you to go so fast in the minion wave. Try to dash to the enemy champion late as possible so that the damage has been amplified. A standard combo in lane is 'E' to a melee minion then AA, Q the champion then 'E' caster minion then AA champ then E champion. This gives max stick potential and damage.

Last Breath (R)

r.PNG

The coolest ability in the game, when done with a well placed steel tempest it is devastating for everyone stuck inside, apart from Rammus, and maybe Malphite. This ability will launch you to the target nearest to your cursor, and will attempt to place you outside the towers. This allows for excellent tank killing and is great for everything, just be wary of going into the middle of the enemy team as it is very easy to be baited in to your death. Don't just do it for banter as you will get destroyed because of it. Make sure that if a target is near you, you basic attack them whilst they're in mid air as this allows for some big damage. Quick fact, as this is a suspension, the duration of the knockup is reduced by tenacity.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Standard start, take against most lanes
Good against early single target poke such as Annie, Kayle and Kennen
Strong against high early game damage, for example Riven and Renekton

Core Items

High damage spikes, buy one, not both
Second items, IE is more damage but tri force is safer
Depending against mostly AP or AD

Situational Items

Against point and click hard CC
    Against lots of AD
    Against AP
    Against mixed damage and burst
    Big damage
    A bit of banter
    Against move speed based champs
    My phantom mallet build
3087.png Statikk Shiv allows for some crazy damage once it's complete, very good if you want to snowball really hard and make the most of your first item powerspike. It also allows for some really decent wave clear so if you want to stop enemy sieges this is your item.

3046.png Phantom dancer allows for you to have great duelling potential due to the spectre's waltz passive. PD also gives more attack speed than shiv at a tiny bit less gold so i would recommend getting this if you want to split push or just want to bee a bit safer.

3031.png Infinity Edge: damage and some more damage. This item amplifies your damage enormously and if you can get some boots shiv/pd around 20 minutes into the game you will do more sustained damage then nearly any other champion in the game, it doesn't offer much else though such as kite or defence. Get this if you are doing well and went to do huge damage mid game.

3078.png Trinity force can be a good third item after IE, it works especially well against a squishy team. You may also want to get trinity force first if you want to go for the trinity/frozen mallet build which gives you good utility and defence.

3047.png Ninja tabi are great for dealing with auto attackers and give a nice bit of armour, so you should usually get these if you are going to be doing a bit of split pushing, or if the enemy are auto attack dependant.

3111.png Mercury's treads give some very nice tenacity which allow you to get round Yasuo's biggest counter, hard CC. The magic resist is also nice against AP match ups.

3139.png Mercurial scimitar is essential, well QSS is against champions or comps with point and click CC. Main examples are Lissandra and Malzahar and maybe so tanks such as Amumu and Maokai, but it isn't as important against these tanky guys unless you are often caught out of position.

3053.pngSterak's gage is very good if you are ahead as the enemy will be focusing you, making the shield proc easily. However this is also very good with trinity force as the base AD scales with sheen. This isn't too good if you are needing  a lot of defence as it only offers 400hp for pure defence. The shield is 30% of your max hp so i like to pick this up later on, if i already have some defensive items.

3022.pngFrozen mallet is very rarely bought on yasuo(editors note: not anymore) but I think it is highly underrated as an item as it gives a huge amount of stats, 650hp and 40AD. As your Q applies on hit effects and will be on a 1.3 sec CD and its a 1.5 second 40% slow. This makes it nearly impossible for move speed based champs to stay near you, Shyvana and Udyr will become no issue as when combined with phage passive you will also get a large move speed boost, this will ensure that you are constantly able to keep them in Q range but they can never auto attack.

VS

Ahri

Easy

This is a very fun match up as ahri has a lot of skill shots, so predict charm and q and either dash to the side or use wind wall, but be wary as windwall has a much higher cooldown than her abilities.

VS

Anivia

Medium

VS

Azir

Hard

Azir is, in my opinion, the hardest champion in the game so I will be giving advice for playing against bad to good azir players, as I don't know the best ways to beat a very good azir player. Try  to farm at long range using your Q and be very cautious of ulting azir when he's near a tower as he will most likely push you back into it. Try to split push and make picks as azir will always have better teamfighting than you. You should be able to duel him after your first and second item with ease but it will be much harder to play against him the later the game gets.

VS

Darius

Hard

Darius is one of the main reasons why Yasuo top is hard. He will out damage you in long trades and can easily ensure that gets his long trades as he is very hard to get away from due to his apprehend (hook) and intense slow on crippling strike. You may be able to out trade him at level 2 as if played correctly you will be able to use your dash to ensure that he doesn't hit you with the out edge of his Q. It is essential to make sure Darius doesn't get 5 stacks of his passive on you as he will receive as huge AD bonus and the DOT is devastating. You have a very small trading opportunity if he uses his Q on minions but make sure you keep the trades short if you do go in. Try to farm under tower and look for roams and ask for ganks as Darius is very immobile, just make sure he doesn't get a double kill.

VS

Diana

Medium

Diana will do a lot of damage in a very short amount of time and will be able to block a significant amount of your damage with her W, however this match up can go easily in your favour if played with some thought and skill. At low levels you are able to poke her down using your Q and when she uses her W dash back away through the minions. You can block her Q with windwall but this shouldn't be required as if you move towards her and to her left it will be very hard for her to land it. You must buy some magic resistance as otherwise she will one shot you. Go aggressive if she uses her Q on minions and has just used her passive. This is a fun one :D.

VS

Ekko

Easy

Ekko is also melee so will be vulnerable to poke from your Q at early levels. Try to block his Q if you are being hit by the end as the return damage is very high and allows him to easily proc his passive. Try not to let him proc his passive and make him chase you through your minions if he wants to proc it with an AA as lots of players get greedy for the proc. Trade when he has just used his Q or has no stacks on you and be wary of the spooky ghost as if he catches you out it will hurt.

VS

Fiora

Medium

This is a fairly easy match up as long as you don't just go in thoughtlessly. If she riposte's your tornado you must dash to a minion to dodge the stun. When she ults you you must try to disengage by dashing through the minion wave. It's very important that she doesn't get the full ult activated as the heal is very large and here ult does a lot of damage.

VS

Fizz

Hard

Fizz out bursts you, get an early hex drinker and take exhaust to stop his all ins. Exploit his poor early laning by Q stabbing him when he goes for CS and try to dash away from the playful trickster (troll poll).

VS

Gangplank

Medium

You will always be able to beat Gankplank in a 1 v 1 situation, unless he out plays you super hard. Don't let him get free farm as his mid to late game is far better, well his late game is. Play aggressive but try to block his Q with your W and extend the trades as his first AA will apply a burn so it will deal more damage than your first AA. Aggression is key, kill this guy before he kills your team.

VS

Gnar

Easy

Mini Gnar is a marksman, which is what Yasuo's kit is adept at killing as you are able to block all of his damage, apart from his hop. Mega Gnar is it a bit harder as he will out trade you if you try to fight however this is easily avoided due to your high mobility allowing you to get out of his area or to avoid his abilities as they have a long wind up time. Play aggressive when he uses his hop in mini Gnar and avoid getting close to Mega, unless of course you're very ahead.

VS

Graves

Easy

This is  a nice match up as all of Graves' damage is projectiles, just make sure that if he dashes to the side of the wind wall you move in response. You can dash through the minion wave to avoid the return damage of his Q and easily get out of his W. Play from level 3-6 as this is when you will not have many items and he has very high base damage. It is easy to destroy graves in 1 v 1 situations after your first item.

VS

Irelia

Hard

This match up is highly dependant on the skill of the Irelia, if they don't play much Irelia it will be fairly easy but for this I will assume that they can play Irelia well. You are able to poke her down at level 1 and 2 as she won't have her full skillset. Try not to trade unless you have a notable advantage such as she just used her W or E on a minion. Irelia will outsustain and damage you and is also very hard to outplay as she will also be able to dash multiple times in the minion wave. You will be stronger then her at level 10 or 11 or around 1 and a half items. This is because she gains more from levels in her w than you do from your e. So past level 9 you will start to catch up and outscale her.

VS

Kassadin

Easy

Kassadin is one of the few champions who is weaker than Yasuo during the entire laning phase. You are able to easily trade with him, just make sure you extend the trades to maybe 3-4 seconds early game. This is because after he does his abilities he is fairly useless for the next 6 seconds. You have good kill pressure at all points, it is especially easy to kill Kassadin is he buys tear as it offers no combat stats. If you feel uncomfortable just go for all ins at big power spikes and farm.

VS

LeBlanc

Medium

Leblac can be very hard to dash away from and is very mobile so it easily able to avoid the wind wall and tornadoes. Get some early magic resist if struggling. Go aggressive after she uses her W and try to farm as you outscale her a lot.

VS

Lux

Easy

Nice match up, you can block all abilities except her ult. You can easily exploit her low mobility and skill shots, be wary if you get caught by a binding you can get destroyed.

VS

Malphite

Medium

Play aggressive in lane and dash out using the minions when he has applied his E attack speed debuff and when he has his W active, then when these are on cooldown you should easily be able to trade, you have slight kill pressure after completing your first item as long as you play it well. Be wary of diving him as his ult can be a pain. You will be able to fight him after completing you first item until he get thornmail, then he may come out slightly ahead.

VS

Malzahar

Hard

The ultimate evil, no abilities can be blocked, silence all in, point and click suppression, (DON'T TAKE CLEANSE, IT DOESN'T REMOVE NETHER GRASP) Malzahar has all of Yasuo's nightmares. However if played with skill and thought this can go in your favour. He's immobile and his silence has a delay which means it can be avoided. Go for early trades, dash away from the silence, and buy a QSS after one item as Malzahar can turn late game Yasuo into a wet towel.

VS

Orianna

Medium

Her sustained damage is hard to deal with and she is able to follow your dashes with her ball if played properly. Go for early trades and try to dash out of her ult as most Orianna players can be very predictable and there is a moderately sized delay, doing so will give you a huge advantage.

VS

Poppy

Hard

Poppy is really not what yasuo likes to play against, her W will make it very hard for you to dash through to their back line meaning that unless you have some good consistent knock ups there is really no point in trying to team fight without getting a flank. She will out damage you quite significantly in the earlier level once she has a few points in her Q. You will be stronger at level 1 and 2, just make sure she doesn't hit you with both parts of her Q or get a stun with her E as you will guaranteed lose the trade. After an item you will be slightly stronger, unless she has D shield, Tabi and sunfire. After two items you will win an all in no matter what but it will be close. After the core you must then choose if you want to kill poppy more, so bork and lord doms or try to help out and kill other people so mallet and bt. Once you get a life steal item you will always be able to 1 v 1 her but it will take a very long time. If you fall behind in this match up play passive and beg for ganks because it will be a rough game.

VS

Rammus

Hard

This is very similar to Volibear, just don't trade apart from very early and look for roams, Rammus has less kill pressure but scales better into late game.

VS

Riven

Medium

Riven out damages you early by a lot, after one or two items you will outscale. This usually happens earlier due to the complexity of Riven's kit, so if they don't play riven well you may be stronger than them earlier on. Play safe early, block her windslash and go more aggressive after shiv or PD but you must always play smart, for example go in when her riventricleave.png Broken wings is on cooldown.

VS

Ryze

Medium

This match up is highly volatile due to you both being fairly short range and having the ability to hugely chunk the opponent, so if you aren't sure whether to go all in, it is probably best not to as if he gets a kill on you he will be able to get a free lane and easily out scale you. Go aggressive when he has no passive stacks up as when his passive is up, he will hugely out damage you. After one item you will be able to easily all in him but he will outscale you. This might not apply for you as Ryze is incredibly difficult, so they will often not be able to play him properly, in lane or in team fights.

VS

Talon

Medium

You have the advantage early because of Talon's high mana costs and short range, apart from his W. You are able to Q him when ever he goes for a CS and will be able to win trades easily if you block at least one part of his W and if you keep the trades a bit longer to compensate for his higher burst. Zone him and poke early, take exhaust if you want to be safe but it isn't essential and also be wary of his high burst after 6, especially if your W is on cooldown.

VS

Twisted Fate

Easy

Easy peasy. The ultimate champion to play against. He's immobile, weak early, full projectiles. Smart trades against TF will always bring you out on top, just make sure you ping enemy missing when he roams and try to follow as you will have a much larger impact after arriving in a fight than he will.

VS

Veigar

Medium

I wasn't sure whether to put this as easy due to you being able to easily block or avoid his damage. However as i expect you are aware, Veigar can easily one shot any one late game. Play aggressive during lane especially after he uses his e as it has a fairly long cooldown. Buy some MR later and keep trying to kill him before he kills your team.

VS

Volibear

Hard

This is horrible. Don't ever attempt to trade or all in as he will always out damage you unless you get ahead, some how. Look for roams and don't get baited in by his passive. It's on a 120 second cool down so quite low. You may be able to trade a little at levels 1 and 2, possibly 3 but for you to come out on top you must try to auto attack him while kiting back through the minions. His bite does tons of damage when you're low. Enjoy!

VS

Xerath

Easy

This is a nice match up as all of Xerath's abilities can be stopped or easily avoided by using your E. He is highly immobile and is lacking much hard CC. You are able to go hyper aggressive at level 1 and 2 but before you have a zeal he may be able to out damage you. At level 6 and when you have zeal you will easily be able to beat him in all trades as long as you don't get poked down a lot.

VS

Yasuo

Medium

Of course a skill match up, try to use the EQ combo when going for all in as otherwise you can just block the others tornado, farm hard as this will be the deciding factor if you're similar skill.

VS

Zed

Medium

Due to the repeated previous nerfs zed has received this match up is now a full skill match up. You have the advantage early as you are able to poke him your Q during the lower levels and you are able to block his shurikens with your wind-wall. I strongly recommend exhaust to reduce his all in potential and try to make sure that he doesn't use his death mark to dodge your tornado. If he ultimates you then you go throw your tornado behind you so you can ultimate combo to further reduce the damage from his ultimate. I strongly recommend buying some armour as if you go full damage he will one shot you when you don't have exhaust up.

Play style, strengths and weaknesses Back to Top

Play style

Yasuo is a fairly different champions to most as he combines components of ADC's, assassins and a little bit of Tryndamere. This could be one of the reasons why lots of people find him so hard to pick up as he play style and mechanics is not like any other champion, however this is also why he is so rewarding when played well.

Assassin: Yasuo can be played as an assassin, looking for chance to knock up the enemy back line and then get some great damage off onto multiple targets. This play style can be done fairly easily if you have a long range knock up on your team such as Malphite, Wukong or Orianna, your team mates assistance isn't essential as if played correctly and done at the right time you will be able to dash through the tanks, charging up your Q allowing you to get to the backline. Doing this is requires a lot of practice and is incredibly difficult but can be extremely rewarding.

ADC: Due to Yasuo's high sustained damage and 50% bonus armour penetration Yasuo can be played as an ADC, sitting art the back of the team just auto attacking and using your Q to kill the enemy tanks. This isn't ideal for Yasuo but can be very useful if you have other assassins on your team, as they won't be able to kill the tanks as well as you can.

Tryndamere (split push Yasuo): Yasuo is a good duelist and is able to duel 85% of champions when he gets a couple of items and if played correctly. This when combined with trinity force can make you into a split pushing, tower killing monster. This should be done if your team have a worse team fight, maybe because they have better tanks or a wombo combo.

These are the three best styles for playing Yasuo but for you to become very good you must be able to recongnise and easily switch between them, executing each one perfectly. The first two methods can be done easily in one team fight and I suppose it is possible to do all three at once if you TP into the fight after split pushing.

Strengths

Damage: Yasuo is able to dish out huge amounts of single target, AOE, burst, sustained damage. Yes he can do it all, but he requires one or two items before he is able do start doing this so make sure you play slightly passive before your first big item

Mobility: Yasuo's situational mobility is enormous, if inside the enemy minion wave or around jungle camps you able to move huge distances to both escape and engage on the enemy team. This is highly situational so make sure you are fighting where you have the advantage. Make sure you don't just mash E as it will stop you from being able to dash when you might need it and this will be time when you're not auto attacking or using your Q which do a huge amount more damage. Don't be a trashuo mashing E, please :D

Weaknesses

Hard CC: I know hard CC counter every one, apart from Irelia. But hard CC will make Yasuo's job impossible. Yasuo is squishy who likes to be in the middle of enemy team... so if you aren't able to use your E or W to protect your self you will die instantly. Silences are very good against Yasuo as it stops him from being able to defend him self and getting away.

Burst: Yasuo is squishy who requires the write circumstances and some time to get off his damage. High burst assassins can stop you from doing anything and can often kill you before you have time to return damage. Champions which can easily 100 to 0 you will nearly always focus you down as you will be much closer and easier to kill than the ADC. This is why a lot of people are starting to build a few defensive items. Examples are Zed, Fizz and Rengar

Hyper tanks: Even with the 50% bonus armour penetration, these guys will not care. You will do a noticeable amount of damage but they will be able to hit you back harder and a thornmail can make your life horrible, it will take you so long to kill them as well that the rest of your team will probably have died. Examples are Malphite, Rammus and Mundo. To get around this issue look for flank to try and get to the enemy back line and avoid these tanks, leaving your ADC to kill the tanks.

Duelists: Yasuo is so versatile as stated earlier, that any champion which is dedicated to that one thing, this being dueling it will give Yasuo a hard time. They stop you from being able to roam around looking for picks and can sit next to their backline in a team fight and woop you when you come to them or they can just split push against you, alot of Yasuo's kit is also designed for killing squishy projectile based champions and most duelist are neither of these. They just make the game a bit harder. Afew of the main examples are Fiora, Shyvana and Tryndamere. A good rule is if they're melee and have a move speed buff they probably out dual you, this is most the time.

Combos and tricks Back to Top

The difficulty of these mechanics starts off easy then gets harder

The sneaky Q

During last breath yasuoR.png you are able to use your Q yasuoQ.png so that once you have finished your ult animation, make sure you still hit it though and try to hit as many targets as possible

The Q flash

During your QyasuoQ.png animation you can flash which will mean that you finish your Q animation at the end of your flash, this works with the tornado and standard QyasuoQ.png

W-Q animation cancel

If you cast your Q yasuoQ.png during the animation of your W yasuoW.png it will cancel the animation, often allowing you to catch your opponent off guard, this works with both forms of Q

The all in kill combo

Get two stacks of gathering storm so that your next yasuoQ.png is a tornado then yasuoE.png
Dash to the target and basic attack them once
Ultimate yasuoR.png them after the basic attack
Q  yasuoQ.pngthe target during the ult animation
With shiv and IE this will do most of the targets HP (side note this combo requires around 1.0 attack speed at least)

Wall dashing

This video is not made by me but does show how to do it far more easily than I would be able to tell you, enjoy
playbutton.png

The late flash

If you flash whilst doing the EQ
so you press yasuoE.pngyasuoQ.png4.png in quick succession it will cause you to flash mid q animation allowing you to catch your opponent off guard

The EQR animation cancel

This is pretty complicated and very few players know about this trick and far fewer ever use it.
If you hit a long range tornado and have the Q cooldown capped you will be able to do this.
EQ a minionyasuoE.pngyasuoQ.png and then just before you start the spin animation press RyasuoR.png.
This will finish off the Q yasuoQ.png animation underneath the target you are ultying allowing you to get 3 lots of damage, this additional QyasuoQ.png then the RyasuoR.png then the standard follow up QyasuoQ.png. This is very complicated and I am aware that it might not be explained so if you would like some further explanation let me know :)
