Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png
As Yasuo, I recommend taking flash every game. It is great for escaping, either from a gank, either from a though situation in a teamfight, it can be also great to surprise your enemy, like stacking your Q and then flash and knockup your enemy in lane, or a surprise knock-up in teamfights. However we put it, it's an essential spell for Yasuo.

14.png
You'll pick this most of your games, except for some situational matchups. Ignite works really well with Yasuo thanks to his early surprising power with his E and Q skills, which in combination with this spell can allow to pick a kill and maybe, just maybe snowball the lane.

21.png
I really don't pick this spell a lot on Yasuo, but it can be very helpfull against a certain set of Champions. For example 99.png or 7.png. If Lux snares you she can use all of her skillset on you and there's a pretty good chance she will kill if she has her ultimate. Thus having barrier at that time could really come in handy.

3.png
This is a situational spell. I recomment picking Exhaust against some melee champions or champions who have to get in close range in order to deal with you. It is a very usefull spell against champions like 238.png,91.png and a bunch of others, I'll go into more details in the machups section.

Masteries Back to Top

As I said, I was still working on the masteries and after a few tries I decided this is my favorite route. If you want you can replace Warlord's Bloodlust with Fervor of Battle.

Alternatives:

Ferocity tree:

dang.png

Cunning tree:

Thunderlord's Decree is pretty much the only viable skill for Yasuo on this tree.

dang2.png

Or:

dang3.png

I don't recommend spending 18 points on the RESOLVE TREE, as the main final skills on this tree aren't so good for Yasuo.

yasuopassive.pngWay of the wanderer:

This is a jewel of a passive! It's what allows Yasuo to go in and out fights especially with yasuoR.png since the ultimate instantly regenerates the shield upon use. As you know, it also doubles your critical strike chance but reduces your critical strike damage by 10%. In lane, your enemy will try by any means to disable your shield with a basic attack or ability before attacking you, so stay alert and also move around a lot so your shield gets regenerated.

yasuoQ.pngSteel tempest:

This skill is very usefull. It's a great farming tool, it can help you poke and kite your enemy. As you know, after a succesfull 2nd Steel tempest strike, upon the next few seconds you can cast a whirlwind out of your steel tempest which will knock-up hostiles and allow you to use yasuoR.png. Use this ability to poke and kite your enemy and combine with your yasuoW.png so you get a substantial advantage.

yasuoW.pngWind wall:

This is a very interesting skill and also a very unique one. This skill was the first of its kind before Braum's braumE.png. As you know the wind wall blocks incoming enemy projectiles(ranged basic attacks, skill projectiles like Lee's blindmonkqone.png, Nidalee's javelintoss.png, Annie's disintegrate.png , etc.), which makes it an insanely good ability. This is a core ability, use it wise, as it can turn a fight in your favor with ease.

yasuoE.pngSweeping blade:

This is a nice ability, it can help you make outplays, it can help you escape though situations like ganks or messy fights. I've seen some players max this ability first instead of yasuoQ.png, I don't think it's a bad idea, but personally I prefer yasuoQ.png over it. Allright, so i changed my mind a bit about this ability: after a few tries and tests, i made up my mind. I like the idea of this ability being maxed first. The damage scales well on levels, it's also magic damage, which you kinda lack on Yasuo, so it's a great a spell to max first. Let's also keep in mind that your yasuoQ.png scales with your total attack damage and has good ratio, so I recommend maxing out this ability first. If you still prefer the yasuoQ.png route, then at least take yasuoE.png as your first level spell, because you could actually pick up a kill at level 1 thanks to this spell.

yasuoR.pngLast breath:

Guys, I will apologize for what I will say, because I simply have to say it. THIS ULTIMATE IS MAJESTIC AS FUCK. You cannot deny it. This ultimate is, in my opinion, the ability that decides if an Yasuo player is good or not. It can turn fights in your favor but it can also kill you. Now, Yasuo isn't as strong as he used to be, when this he was released this ultimate was devastating, it dealt more damage and his passive back then gave you a lot more shield, so you could easily use this to go in and out of fights. As I said now, the risk of using this ultimate is MUCH higher as it can get you killed, it does regenerate your shield upon use but the shield is not enough. Use it wisely, try using it in a manner, so you can surprise your enemy and don't use it, unless you are certain you will not die. Also, very important, this ultimate makes Yasuo synergize well with a variety of champions that have knockup skill
Example:54.png's ultimate combined with this is a devastating combo againt the enemy team, 254.png's ultimate combined with yours can easily put down a carry at your choice and there are a bunch of other combos that can make your enemy's life harder so keep this in mind. Also Last Breath gives you a boost for the next 15 seconds
(Yasuo ignores 50% of the enemy's BONUS armor), which in combination with 3036.png or 3033.png can make you a deadly weapon.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

This is a typical starting item, gives you decent stats. The lifesteal won't be very usefull early but it'll prove itself a bit later in the game.
I really like this item because Yasuo is a very good farmer thanks to his skillset. Take this item if you don't have a hard matchup and you're sure you can take down your enemy or in case it's a farming lane.
I don't really go this route, but if your enemy relies a lot on skillshots and you need mobility this is the way to go.

Core Items

These are pretty much your core items, good damage and 100% critical chance.
You can take Phantom dancer instead of shiv in some cases, it's up to your choice. Especially if you play top or tanky Yasuo, as this item makes you a great duelist.
You will start with Warding totem and then upgrade it into Farsight Alteration and in some cases you can take Oracle alteration.
Pick one of these, depending on the enemy team composition.

Situational Items

If you have to deal with a lot of CC.
    Damage and lifesteal.
If you have troubles with tanks.
Great items for Yasuo in my opinion. Take them if you need health.
If you have troubles with the ADC.
    Great choices for MR items.
Great item if you need some armor.
I rarely pick these items, but they can be a decent replace for lifesteal item.
    #SWAG
Even though the new trinity doesn't give critical chance anymore, I still think it is a great item for Yasuo.
It's really good if you're being focused a lot, offers high resistances and it's really cheap.

Allright, I'm gonna give some examples of full builds here:

This is a standard all-around build for Yasuo:

3031.png1320.png3087.png3072.png3742.png3102.png

Tanky route:

3031.png1315.png3087.png3143.png3053.png3102.png

Against AD team:

3031.png3087.png1315.png3143.png3742.png3022.png

Against AP team:

3031.png3087.png3156.png1320.png3102.png3139.png

Against CC team:

3078.png3087.png3139.png3102.png3053.png1320.png

Against tanky team:

3031.png3087.png1315.png3153.png3143.png3036.png You could try to replace 3153.png with 3071.png, it's up to your choice.

Let's discuss the items a bit:

BOOTS:

3111.png Pick these if enemy team has a lot of AP damage and CC as they give tenacity and MR.
3047.pngGreat item against heavy AD damage and if enemy ADC is giving you trouble.
3009.pngCan be a good pick if you need the extra mobility and you have to deal with slows.
3006.pngDon't pick these, they are just not worth it. The others are far better in my opinion.

JUGGERNAUT ITEMS:

3022.pngGreat item, gives the slow effect on your attacks, gives a decent amount of bonus AD and A LOT of health.
3053.pngAnother great choice for Yasuo, since you have to go in fights you will likely take quite some damage, the shield and health this item gives are perfect for Yasuo.
3748.png*On second thought, this item can be a pretty good pick if you play Yasuo top and you go the tanky route.
3742.pngAnother great item for Yasuo. Gives you health and armor to make you a bit more tanky and the passive works well with the skillset. The movement speed bonus will allow you to regenerate your shield.
3083.pngNot the best pick for Yasuo, Mallet, Sterrak or Deadman's plate are far better picks.
3071.pngThis can be a really decent item on Yasuo. I would recommend this against tanky teams.

Ok so as you know, juggernaut items came pretty much this season and I think they are a perfect pick for Yasuo. They give a bit of tankyness that is very necesarry to us as full damage Yasuo doesn't work anymore in my opinion. But the core items combined with these can make you a real threat.

Core items:

3031.pngVery good item for Yasuo without any doubt, gives damage and critical strike chance and a passive that boosts critical attacks, on which Yasuo relies.
3087.pngAnother jewel for Yasuo, gives a lot of critical strike chance, attack speed and the passive deals magic damage and can crit which is quite a good advantage.
3078.pngRight now I recommend this item for tanky routes or defensive builds. Now it gives 20% CD reduction instead of crit chance, which allows you to use your yasuoW.png and yasuoR.png more often.
3046.pngYou can take this as a replacement for Statikk shiv, It gives more attack speed, extra mobility and makes you a greater duelist.

Situational items:

The juggernaut items are included in this, but I wanted to make a special section for them.

3072.pngGreat lifesteal choice, gives a lot of damage and the passive works well with your yasuopassive.png as it gives a shield too.
3153.pngAnother great lifesteal choice, i usually pick this against tanky teams. It gives you more attack speed and an active that will give you a generous boost.
3074.png and 3812.pngAs I said, these are not my favorite items for Yasuo, I think BOTRK and Bloodthirster are better choices, but it is up to your choice.
3033.pngI usually take this one against champions that heal a lot. For example if they have 16.png or a fed 8.png I think this item is a must-have.
3036.pngThis is my armor penetration pick against really tanky champions thanks to its passive. However, 3033.png might be more useful if you have to deal with a tank that heals like 106.png,58.png or 122.png.
3139.pngA must-have if you have to deal with a lot of CC. You can get QSS first and upgrade it later into the game. However don't forget that the item can't stop knock-ups or knock-backs. Also it will not stop some certain abilities 254.png's viR.png.

Update: This item can actually negate 127.png's lissandraR.png, noticed in one of my games.
              It doesn't block 238.png's zedR.png since patch 6.9.
3143.pngGood item if you're against AD team or if you have trouble with the enemy ADC. It gives health, armor, reduces critical damage and a passive that will reduce attack speed upon being attacked which is great against champions like 67.png,236.png,11.png and a bunch of others.
3156.pngGood MR pick thanks to the stats it gives and the passive that gives the magic shield. It is highly recommended to take against heavy AP burst champs like 1.png,134.png,127.png.
3102.pngI really like this item. It can save you a lot of pain thanks to the passive it gives and the stats it gives are amazing(lots of health and MR). A must-have against heavy AP teams and can also prove usefull against CC teams.
3026.png*This item has got my attention once again. It's very cheap for the stats and the passive it gives. Also they buffed it a bit for champs that build health. If you are being focused down a lot, BUY THIS ITEM, it's great.
3147.pngI haven't really tried this item on Yasuo. But technically it could work, especially if your main objective is to focus down a carry. This item is exclusively for assassins, problem is Yasuo isn't exactly an assassin, he's more of a fighter.
3089.pngFor the SWAG. It's driving people nuts(literally if you pick this in ranked).

TOP YASUO

So, quite a few patches ago people started playing Yasuo top and with each update it became more and more popular. To be honest, I'm quite a fan myself. He is a great pick at top right now because of his skillset, the current items in the game allow him to build both fighter and tank. As tank Yasuo works pretty well, he even has some pretty great utility thanks to his yasuoR.png and yasuoE.png, which actually allow you to be a great engager. I have started to add matchups for top lane too.

Build: 3087.png or 3046.png are still gonna be your core items in this lane. You must pick one of these, no mather what.
3031.png however, is a situational item, because it depends on what you must build. You build this if your team needs damage.

Tanky builds for top:

My favorite right now: 3046.png3078.png3111.png3022.png3156.png3026.png (You can replace 3111.png with 3047.png, depends on the enemy team picks)

I really like this build because it gives a lot of damage and utility, while it also makes you really durable. It pretty much makes you a bruiser.

3087.png3053.png3111.png3742.png3748.png3026.png (another all around tanky build for top)

Full tank Yasuo: 3087.png3742.png3111.png3102.png3075.png3022.png (If your team already has the damage, and they really need a tank and an engager)

Yasuo is a very versatile pick, you can generate a lot of builds. I'll talk a bit about the other items you can build on him as a tank:

3065.pngIt can be a decent item on him, especially if you have taken the Warlord's Bloodlust mastery. However, I still prefer Banshee over this.
3068.pngI usually prefer 3742.png over this, but sunfire can be a pretty decent item too, thanks to the fact that you're a close range fighter, you can easily use the passive on this item.
3075.pngGreat pick for tanky Yasuo and if the enemy is full AD or the enemy ADC is giving you a lot of trouble.
3190.pngTake this if the enemy team has a magic damage nuker like 63.png,55.png,99.png and if your support doesn't buy it first ofcourse.
3025.pngThis item is really really great. It's a cheap item, it gives a lot of armor, but it also gives the Sheen passive and an AOE slow. However, the 500 mana it gives it's a real waste on Yasuo. I still pick this sometimes though on bruiser Yasuo, as it works really well with yasuoQ.png.

Wind wall blocks: aatroxE.png

Recommended starting items: 1054.png2003.png1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png3.png or 4.png12.png

There's nothing really special about this matchup to be honest, it will most likely be a farming lane. You can't really kill him, but he can't really kill you neither, unless he's bad.
I recommended 3.png because this spell it's a great pain in the ass for him, as he is a close range melee trader and you might just kill him if you have this. If you go 12.png however, I suggest to play passive, farm and try to gank other lanes. Since he is exclusively melee, his aatroxE.png can be blocked and his aatroxQ.png easily dodged, you should abuse your yasuoE.png a lot to win some extra trades. As far as I know he will most likely max aatroxW.png first which either heals him or gives bonus damage every third basic attack so keep this in mind and try to avoid getting hit by it. Also I don't recommend trading with him if he uses aatroxR.png, just get away from him with your yasuoE.png. You can get 1083.png for this lane.

VS

Ahri

Easy

Windwall blocks: everything(lol)

Recommended starting items:1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png (she relies on skillshots a lot)
Recommended spells:4.png14.png

This matchup is not really hard thanks to your windwall. However even if windwall can block all of her abilities you will most likely not block them all. Ahri's ultimate ahritumble.png will give her a lot of mobility and a smart Ahri player will use this in his advantage. She can dash through or around your wall and use her ability in a manner to reach you. Your main objective is to dodge or block her ahriseduce.png, never get hit by this thing cause she can kill you, especially if her jungler is nearby. Since she has so much mobility, in order to kill her i recommend to using the yasuoE.png+yasuoQ.png combo to knock her up and use yasuoR.png since she can dodge the whirlwind with ease. In teamfights it's pretty hard to focus her, just remember to dodge or block her ahriseduce.png and try to yasuoR.png her or the adc. You can farm your 1083.png on this lane if you are cautious.

VS

Akali

Hard

Windwall blocks:akalimota.png

Recommended starting items:1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells:4.png3.png

I've played Akali for quite a while and I know where this is going. She's not as strong as she used to be but she can still mess you up real bad. Before 6 it's not really hard, you might actually get to kill her with a bit of help from the jungler. You really need the jungler in this matchup to shut her down early. Buy 2043.pngand get 3364.pnglater for her akalismokebomb.png. Post 6 she's a pain in the ass, you can hardly kill her but she can kill you quite easily. Also, she will roam a lot, so stay alert and warn your team when she is missing because her ganks are very strong and she can get fed. In teamfights she can be quite a monster howerver with 2043.png and if your team is alert you can focus her down easily. Farming 1083.png in this lane is pretty hard because she will bully you, so I don't recommend buying it.

VS

Anivia

Medium

Windwall blocks:flashfrost.png,frostbite.png

Recommended starting items:1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells:4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

Update: It's pretty much the same to be honest, just don't get stunned by her flashfrost.png and try to stay out of her glacialstorm.png

I've played against a few Anivias lately (not necessarily with 157.png). It seems that her damage at the moment is kinda broken. However, you can turn this match into your advantage early, try to kill her pre-6 as she is not so strong, but don't even think about diving her unless her aniviapassive.png is off. I recommended 21.png too for this matchup as her frostbite.png can deal an insane amount of burst damage but it's up to your choice. 3009.pngare a choice since she relies on slows as her frostbite.png deals double damage on slowed targets. She is pretty easy to gank, despite her crystallize.png, if your jungler can help, shut her down before 6. After 6 getting close to her is kinda like suicide (yeap, no jokin') if you don't have your yasuoW.png up, thanks to her ultimate. In teamfights block her projectiles and most importantly don't get stunned by her flashfrost.png and you should do just fine. You can farm 1083.png on this lane.

VS

Annie

Hard

Windwall blocks: disintegrate.png

Recommended starting items:1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png21.png

Update: Ok, so the new Annie is even more fucked up than the old one. Just try your best to not pick Yasuo against this champion. Her stun seems like it got buffed, because she can charge it faster, and her Tibbers will completely destroy you because you're melee. You rely a lot on your jungler on this matchup. The tings i wrote down still apply.

I hate this champion, you hate this champion, we all hate this champion. What will Annie do? She will 4.png and she will use infernalguardian.png and she will stun you and will kill you (simple, right?) . This matchup is a pain in the ass (literally this time). I really don't recommend picking Yasuo against this little monster. However, if you get countered by her, pick 21.png as spell. You need your jungler on this one, you really need your jungler. Try to shut her down early with his help, and if you get a little advantage try to snowball her. Ofcourse then she might just infernalguardian.png, stun you and with help from her jungler you're dead, so watch the map, be sure her jungler isn't nearby. Try playing defensive, don't take free damage, the problem with annie players is that they are predictable, if you're low hp she will use 4.pngdisintegrate.png to stun you and 14.png to secure you, so keep this in mind(I have enough experience with Annie to know that this will happen). In teamfights try to stay a bit away from your teammates because she will use infernalguardian.png to stun as many people as possible. My advice would be to go for the ADC as she will be probably too hard to take down because of her 3027.png. Don't take 1083.png on this lane because you won't be able to farm it.

VS

Aurelion Sol

Easy

Dafuq is dis shiet? Not enough games played against him, I will be back with an update.

VS

Azir

Hard

Wind wall blocks:azirQ.png,azirR.png

Recommended starting items:1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells:4.png14.png

Azir isn't played that much anymore, but in case you encounter him here's what I think: he counters you. He can be very annoying thanks to his azirW.png and the fact that you are melee you will likely take quite some damage when farming. It's really hard to trade damage with him cause if you go into him he can use azirQ.png+azirE.png to deal more damage to you. In my opinion he has a better laning phase than you thanks to his skillset. In teamfights it might prove a bit difficult to catch him thanks to his azirR.png and azirE.png but with a well placed yasuoQ.png whirlwind you can get him. Don't try to yasuoE.png+yasuoQ.png into him because he will just push you back with his ultimate. Don't get 1083.png because you won't be able to farm it in this lane as he will always bully you with his soldiers.

VS

Blitzcrank

Easy

Wind wall blocks:rocketgrab.png

Recommended starting items:1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells:4.png14.png

I had the opportunity to play against 53.png mid a few times. It's pretty easy since your wall can block his rocketgrab.png. Don't underestimate this guy, he has insane damage and CC. If he grabs you with his rocketgrab.png after 6 he's like to kill you. His ultimate staticfield.png deals a lot of damage and has very low cooldown, about 20 seconds. The idea on this lane is to stay behind minions and farm and whatever you do just dont get grabbed. Watch for his jungler too. In teamfights I don't really recommend to go near him as he has his powerfist.png and staticfield.png and with his team he will likely kill you, try focusing the ADC and make him your second target, also block his rocketgrab.png with yasuoW.png so he doesn't surprise any of your teammates. You can farm 1083.png on this lane.

VS

Brand

Medium

Wind wall blocks:brandblaze.png,brandwildfire.png

Recommended starting items:1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells:4.png21.png
Update: The new Brand is pretty much the same old Brand, what I have writen down still applies for this matchup. Everything is about dodging his brandblaze.png and brandfissure.png and most important to not get stunned.

Here's Brand in four words: insane amount of damage. This guy has one of the most powerfull nuke set in the game. In laning phase it's pretty much a skill matchup. If you want to go in him always block his brandblaze.png with yasuoW.png so he doesn't stun you and try your best to dodge his brandfissure.png because this is the spell he usually maxes. You can't really do much about his brandconflagration.png, it's a on-target spell, it's not a missile so you can't block it. Thanks to your mobility you have a chance to beat him in laning phase as long as you don't get stunned, if you get stunned ... RIP. Use your yasuoE.png and juke around, go in, go out, in order to trade with him, it wil lbe hard for him to damage you because you move around a lot. Past 6 he gets his brandwildfire.png which can be blocked but you most likely will not be able to block his brandwildfire.png and brandblaze.png at the same time, so your priority is still to block his brandblaze.png so you don't get stunned and dodge his brandfissure.png. He won't be able to kill just with brandconflagration.png and brandwildfire.png(Unless his ultimate will bounce off minions on you, be cautious). In teamfights he is a really strong champion, he is a "natural born nuker". This guy will set your team on fire, so try to block his brandwildfire.png if in open field so it doesn't hurt your team too much. He is somewhat easy to reach in teamfights as long as you dodge brandblaze.png. He will though most likely get 3116.png and slow you with brandconflagration.png but you can still reach him. I don't recommend 1083.png for this lane.

VS

Cassiopeia

Medium

Wind wall blocks: cassiopeiamiasma.png,cassiopeiatwinfang.png

Recommended starting items: 1001.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells:4.png14.png or 4.png21.png
Update: Pretty much the same thing with new Cass, dodge her cassiopeiamiasma.png(it works different now and it's easier to land) and her cassiopeianoxiousblast.png. Things I wrote down still apply.

I recommend starting with boots against Cassiopeia as you really need to dodge her cassiopeianoxiousblast.png, otherwise you will take insane amounts of damage. Your main objective in lane is as I just said to dodge cassiopeianoxiousblast.png. If you take 14.png you can go yasuoQ.png+yasuoE.png into her and kill her and after that you can snowball her. You can abuse this lane early but be carefull with her jungler. After 6 whatever you do don't get stunned by cassiopeiapetrifyinggaze.png because she will use cassiopeianoxiousblast.png+cassiopeiatwinfang.png combo and will kill you. Try turning your back when she uses ulti as it will not stun you and just slow you. In teamfights she is easy to reach as her cassiopeiamiasma.png is easy to dodge. Her cassiopeiapetrifyinggaze.png is what makes her a bit hard to kill, try using yasuoR.png on her and kill her fast. Don't get 1083.png on this lane.

VS

Cho'Gath

Hard

Wind wall blocks:vorpalspikes.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

It's extremely hard to play against this guy. He is really tanky, he has insane sustain from his passive chogathpassive.png. It's hard to trade with him. Try dodging his rupture.png at all cost, as for feralscream.png, you can't do anything about it. Your only chance is to get a kill pre-6. You can outdamage him a bit in early levels and kill him if you have 14.png. I also recommended 21.png for this match because he has insane damage with his feast.png. In laning phase you should ask help from your jungler and you might just put him down. In teamfights he will most likely have his feast.png stacked and armor, so he'll be a monster and you won't be able to do much about it. Try going for the ADC if you can, there's no point in focusing him first. Don't get 1083.png on this lane because he will most likely bully you.

VS

Diana

Medium

Wind wall blocks: dianaQ.png,dianaW.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells:4.png14.png or 4.png21.png or 4.png3.png

To be honest, I think Diana's pretty broken at the moment. She doesn't do big deal before 6 and you actually have a chance to kill her if you get a good gank. After 6 she becomes a monster though. Use your yasuoW.png to block her dianaQ.png or dodge it so she can't ulti you twice. You can go 14.png if you wanna be agressive and kill her early game, you can go 21.png if you wanna play defensive as she has A LOT of burst damage and you might as well go 3.png which is a great spell against her, because she has to come near you in order to deal damage and this spell gives you great duel potential. Watch for ganks from her jungler as her dianaE.png can make you an easy prey. In teamfights she acts like an assassin, so she will try to kill, either you, either your ADC. If she goes for your ADC you shuold go for their ADC too as it is not your job to protect your ADC and if she comes for you, it's pretty much who kills who first. I don't suggest 1083.png for this lane.

VS

Ekko

Medium

Wind wall blocks: ekkoQ.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png3.png

This is a fair matchup, the best player wins. Pre 6, if you want to trade with him your main objective is to stay out of the area of his ekkoW.png so you don't get stunned (it's easy to do this thanks to your yasuoE.png) and then block his ekkoQ.png with yasuoW.png. You will obviosuly outdamage him if you do this as his ekkoE.png won't be enough to win the trade. Post 6 is pretty much the same thing as with his ekkoW.png. His ekkoR.png spawns a clone that follows him. Whatever you do, don't stay near that clone, when he activates his ultimate he will heal himself and teleport and deal damage in the zone where the clone is (once again use yasuoE.png to get out). You can go 14.png if you want to play aggressive and maybe get an early kill but you can as well go with 3.png as he needs to be in close range to deal damage. In teamfights he can be very usefull, he can go into your team, deal quite some damage and then go out thanks to his ultimate, he also has his stun on ekkoW.png. He will most likely go for you or the ADC. He's kinda hard to catch in teamfights, I suggest to make the ADC your primary target. And remember stay out of his ekkoW.png and ekkoR.png. You can get 1083.png on this lane.

VS

Ezreal

Easy

Wind wall blocks: everything(huehuehue)

Recommended starting items: 1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

This is an easy matchup because the only thing that's stoping you from killing Ezreal is his ezrealarcaneshift.png. You can kill him early game with your ignite and then snowball him. Remember that your yasuoW.png blocks each of his skills. You should focus on blocking ezrealtrueshotbarrage.png and ezrealessenceflux.png (if he's ap) or ezrealmysticshot.png (if he's ad). If he's AD he will likely get 3025.png which will make this more annoying, a bit harder to kill him thanks to the bonus armor and to catch because of the slow. In this case stay behind minions so he doesnt hit you with ezrealmysticshot.png. Still, my advice is to kill him early levels with your 14.png.
In teamfights he will mostly stand back and poke your team with everything he has. Your priority is blocking his ezrealtrueshotbarrage.png. He's a bit hard to reach thanks to his ezrealarcaneshift.png, but with the right positioning you can ulti and kill him. You should get 1083.png because you can farm it with ease.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Medium

Wind wall blocks: fiddlesticksdarkwind.png

Recommended starting items:1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

This is rather an annoying matchup as you have to deal with his terrify.png. However, you can pick a kill or more early as he is very squishy. You should prepare your 3rd yasuoQ.pngand knock him up while he drain.png you then ignite and kill him. Block his fiddlesticksdarkwind.png if you're going into him because he will silence you. If he dissapears from the lane post 6 watch out, he will likely come out of nowhere with crowstorm.png and all-in you (he can actually kill you with this) or he will gank other lanes so warn your team. In teamfights he will usually stand in a spot waiting for you team so he can use crowstorm.png, you should look around and try to find where he is and kill him before he uses it, or if you can't do that don't stick together and try to be cautious. You can get 1083.png on this lane.

VS

Fizz

Easy

Wind wall blocks: fizzmarinerdoom.png

Recommended starting items: 1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png3.png

As Yasuo I find this matchup easy if played right. Before 6 you win most of the trades if you hit your yasuoQ.png. Try not to duel him while his fizzseastonepassive.png is on. Usually I take 14.png for this fight and try to kill him early, though 3.png can be a good pick against him as he is a close range champion. Post 6 you still have the advantage thanks to your yasuoW.png because it blocks fizzmarinerdoom.png. As long as you block his ultimate he can't do anything to you (in case you don't block it and it actually hits you, you are most likely dead). Also, his fizzjump.png makes things a bit harder as he can dodge your knock-up so try to use your yasuoQ.png while his fizzjump.png is on cooldown. In teamfights he will try to focus one of the carries, he is an assassin after all, block his fizzmarinerdoom.png, you could focus him first if he comes into your team but he will must likely dash away, as long as you block his ultimate you and your carry are pretty safe. You can get 1083.png on this lane and farm it pretty easily.

VS

Galio

Easy

Wind wall blocks: galioresolutesmite.png,galiorighteousgust.png

Recommended starting items: 1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

You shouldn't have problems with Galio if playing Yasuo. You're a counter to him because his passive gives him a lot of magic resist which makes Galio a good pick against mages. In lane you can get a kill early with your 14.png and perhaps with a good a gank. Galio's harass are galioresolutesmite.png and galiorighteousgust.png and they are skillshots so they can be dodged and not only, they can actually be blocked. His galiorighteousgust.png gives him bonus movement speed and galioresolutesmite.png gives a pretty good slow and decent damage so try to dodge it. These skills with his galiobulwark.png make him pretty hard to gank but in lane you shouldn't have any problem killing him in 1v1. You should look though for his jungler, as he can CC you and kill you. Post 6 things get a little messy. He is likely to get 12.pngand go to other lanes and use galioidolofdurand.png to kill your team mates. Post 6 he will try to roam a lot so try to warn your team mates, push your lane, follow him. In teamfights his ulti is very dangerous because it can turn games. You might wanna get 3139.png just in case. You should try to dodge his ulti and go for their ADC. You can get 1083.png for this lane and farm it pretty easily.

VS

Gangplank

Easy

Wind wall blocks: parley.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png or 1054.png2003.png(shield can be a very good choice against Gangplank)
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png3.png

I have played against a few Gangplanks mid lately and had the luck to play Yasuo. I won pretty easily. The secret to win this lane is to dodge his raisemorale.png, don't stay in the blast radius, they hurt like hell. You can kill him pre 6 if you have 14.png and play it right. His removescurvy.png doesn't help him a lot since your only CC is a knock-up and it cannot be removed. You should try to deny his farm with parley.png if you completely want to destroy him. Post 6 all he gets his cannonbarrage.png which, unfortunately is global. He can get some pretty nice assists of it. However if he chooses to duel you with it, just get out of the area (with your yasuoE.png) and you shouldn't have troubles. 3.png can be good against him as he is melee and gives you quite an advantage in a duel, but I usually take 14.png(it reduces the healing from removescurvy.png). In teamfights he will spam his raisemorale.png which hurt like hell so try to dodge them, you can easily kill him if he doesn't build a bit tanky. However your main target should be the ADC if you can reach him. 1083.png is a good choice for this lane.

VS

Heimerdinger

Medium

Wind wall blocks: h28gevolutionturret.png(attacks and laser),hextechmicrorockets.png,ch1concussiongrenade.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

This fight can be a pain in the ass thanks to Heim's h28gevolutionturret.png. However you can still turn this into your favor. Destroy his turrets and use your yasuoE.png to harass him, go in, do some damage, go out and eventually you might even kill him. Pre 6 you can easily pick a kill with 14.png because he is squishy, just remember to dodge or block ch1concussiongrenade.png in order to not get stunned. Past 6 things get a bit tricky, his upgraded turret is insane so dont even think about staying near it when he uses ulti, it slows, it deals enormous damage and heim will stick around it. The other upgrades upgrade!!!.png on hextechmicrorockets.png and ch1concussiongrenade.png can be blocked with yasuoW.png. In teamfights just stay away from his turrets, I don't think you'll be able to kill him since most Heimerdingers rush 3157.png and his team will probably protect him too. You should try going for the ADC first if you can. I don't recommend 1083.png for this matchup because you'll have a pretty hard time farming if Heim is good.

VS

Karthus

Easy
Wall blocks: nothing(still easy though lol)
Recommended starting items: 1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

If this Karthus is good you probably won't kill him early because he will play def and farm from distance. However you can still have a pretty good chance to pick an early kill with your 14.png. You should watch where his jungler is because his wallofpain.png gives a pretty good slow and its not exactly hard to land(a well placed wall and a gank from enemy jungler can result in a kill for them). You should dodge his laywaste.png too as it can give critical damage if you're the only one it hits. His defile.png should is an advantage against you because you're melee, but it is really weak early so don't worry. In case you don't manage to shut him down early 3155.png is a must-buy in this game. In teamfights I don't suggest focusing him down first thanks to his passive karthuspassive.png and instead you should try to reach their ADC if you can. 1083.png is a really good item on this lane.

VS

Kassadin

Easy

Wind wall blocks:nulllance.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

If you play against Kassadin you shouldn't have any problems as Yasuo. It's a very easy lane before 6 and I highly suggest killing Kassadin before getting riftwalk.png. He can deal some decent damage with his netherblade.png+forcepulse.png combo if you get close to him so be cautious. You will outdamage him however early and you should be able to take him down with your 14.png. Post 6 things get a little messy, he still shouldn't be able to kill you, but he will start roaming and he has very potent ganks thanks to his riftwalk.png and forcepulse.png, so always alert your team when he leaves the lane. In teamfights he's an assassin and a very good one, he can even kill you if he gets ahead, with the right items your ADC will be piece of cake for him, so shut him down in lane phase. 1083.png is easy to farm in this match.

VS

Katarina

Easy

Wind wall blocks: bouncingblades.png,deathlotus.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png3.png

As a Katarina player I can say this match-up goes mostly in your favor. Pre 6 you totally outdamage Katarina problem is you can't really catch her prior to her shadowstep.png and killerinstinct.png. However if she burns shadowstep.png you might be able to kill her if you have 14.png.
Post 6, while you still have the advantage, she can still outplay you, it's all about positioning. Thanks to your yasuoW.png you block her main damage ability deathlotus.png, but don't forget her shadowstep.png allows her to position better, so just keep your yasuoW.png exclusively for her deathlotus.png. Also don't forget she can dodge your 3rd yasuoQ.png with her Shunpo so keep that in mind too. If you want to knock her up its better to go yasuoE.png+yasuoQ.png combo. In teamfights, she can still be a pain to your team thanks to her deathlotus.png. A good Katarina will wait for the right moment in a teamfights, she will hunt for someone with low hp and will go in. You probably won't reach her in teamfights  because she is  positioning behind. Try goin' for the ADC first, but keep in mind, at the right moment, she will attack, so be ready for her. You can get 1083.png for this matchup.

VS

Kayle

Hard

Wind wall blocks: kayleQ.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

Allright, so what makes this matchup really, really hard is the fact that your yasuoW.png does not block her kayleE.png. Pre 6 is your only chance to win this matchup. Take 14.png, wait for her to burn her kayleE.png, block kayleQ.png if you have yasuoW.png on and try to take her down. Call for help from your jungler and try to shut her down early. After 6 this matchup is insanely hard. She gets her kayleR.png which is a pain in the ass. YOU HATE THIS ULTI ... I HATE THIS ULTI! There's nothing else we need to know here. In teamfights you can't do scrap to her, unless you're ahead and she burns her kayleR.png, but even then she can escape thanks to her kayleQ.png+kayleW.png. You really need your team on this one, go for the ADC if you're sure Kayle won't use kayleR.png on him. This match is just ... ugh, DON'T TAKE YASUO AGAINST KAYLE, at least that's my advice. Don't get 1083.png cause you have a really hard time farming on this lane.

VS

LeBlanc

Medium

Wind wall blocks: leblancchaosorb.png,leblancsoulshackle.png,leblancmimic.png(if she mimics Q or E)

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png21.png or 4.png14.png

The secret in winning this matchup is not dying early. Leblanc has an insane ammount of damage early and she can burst you down with ease around level 3 or 4. If she gets a kill or two early she will most likely snowball you. You can go 21.png in this matchup since she has a lot of burst, or you can go 14.png because, even though she has a lot of damage, she is also really squishy and you can pick up a kill in the early levels as long as you can predict her attacks. Blocking leblancchaosorb.png and leblancsoulshackle.png with your yasuoW.png will save you a lot of damage and will give you an opening to go into her.  Also care with her leblancslide.png as it leaves a marked spot where she returns after the dash, so she can outplay you pretty easily. After 6 if you played it right you should be able to kill her, especially if you have 3155.png. Remember that leblancslide.png leaves a spot where she returns after the dash, sometimes you can aim your 3rd yasuoQ.png for that spot so when she returns she returns into a knock up and then you can yasuoR.png and might kill her with ease since she is squishy. In teamfights, if fed she deals insane ammounts of damage and will most likely kill one of the carries with only one combo, so try not feeding her. She is hard to kill her thanks to her jukes from leblancslide.png and leblancmimic.png, so if she burns them you can take her down, else try going for the other carry. Don't get 1083.png for this match because she will bully you for sure.

VS

Lee Sin

Medium

Wind wall blocks: blindmonkqone.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png3.png or 4.png21.png

This one is troublesome. Lee Sin has insane damage early and mid game. His blindmonkqone.png and blindmonkrkick.png are devastating if they hit you. However, you can still outplay him a bit. Before 6, whatever you do don't get hit by blindmonkqone.png, block it or dodge it. Don't trade with him directly, try to kite him a bit with your yasuoQ.png as he doesn't have big range. When trading with him stay behind minions so he cant land blindmonkqone.png. I don't suggest 14.png for this matchup as I don't think it will help you a lot. 3.png is great because lee has to come near you to deal damage, 21.png works too because he has a lot of damage with his blindmonkqone.png+blindmonkrkick.png combo. Post 6 we can say things get harder because his blindmonkrkick.png is a big problem, he can go blindmonkrkick.png+blindmonkqone.png combo which will allow him to actually hit the blindmonkqone.png, because his ulti will get you out of position and you most likely won't have time to block the wave with yasuoW.png or dodge it, so keep this in mind. In teamfights, you are more usefull in my opinion, all he can pretty much is "Insec" on of your teammates into his team. If you have a good support he won't be able to kill your ADC solo or you. You shouldn't focus him in teamfights, you should rather go for their marksman.
1083.png can be farmed in this lane if you're cautious.

VS

Lissandra

Hard

Wind wall blocks: lissandraQ.png,lissandraE.png

Recommended starting items: 1036.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png21.png

This is one of the hardest matchups for yasuo, if not the hardest. Lissandra has everything she needs to shut you down. Pre 6 you can't really do much thanks to her lissandraW.png which will keep you in place if try to get close to her. She can also kite you pretty bad with her lissandraQ.png. You will most likely need help from your jungler, but problem is that lissandra is hard to gank, not only because of the lissandraW.png but also because of her lissandraE.png which will allow her to teleport. Post 6 you really can't do anything to her thanks to the lissandraR.png, she will either use it on herself and it will act like a zhonya and will also heal her, or she can use it on you and if her jungler comes you're done. There's really nothing much you can do in this matchup. Just play defensive, farm and try to roam. ROAMING is your only chance. In teamfights, once again you cannot do anything to her, you can barely get close to her, so try going for the ADC. You could try to get 1083.png to get a little advantage from farming, even though she will likely bully you in lane.

VS

Lulu

Hard

Wind wall blocks: luluq.png,luluw.png,lulue.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

This is a really annoying matchup, but it can still go in your favor, at least in lane phase. Pre 6, Lulu is really squishy, so you should try to trade with her a bit and then try to kill her with 14.png. Whatever you do, don't dive her. Also, watch out for her Pix lulue.png, as it has an annoying range and it deals a lot of damage. Post 6 she gets lulur.png which gives her a lot of health, at this stage, you can only kill her if you're ahead, unless you should try to farm and roam. In teamfights she is better than you thanks to her ultimate and the stupid pokes from her skillset. It's pretty hard to go focus someone because she will use lulur.png. Try not taking Yasuo if enemy team has Lulu mid. Still, your best shot is the ADC, so try going for that. 1083.png is really hard to farm in this matchup because she is a bully.

VS

Lux

Medium

Wind wall blocks: luxlightbinding.png,luxlightstrikekugel.png,luxprismaticwave.png

Recommended starting items: 1001.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

You may think this matchup is easy, but to be honest, you will be having a difficult time against a Lux. I hate this champ (seriously). Even though you can block a lot of her skills, a good Lux will be a pain in the ass. You can't always have yasuoW.png up to block her skills and if she luxlightbinding.png's you she can kill you easily if jungler is there or she will deal a lot of damage to you. I recommend 1001.png exclusively for this matchup as she relies a lot on skillshots and her luxlightstrikekugel.png is really hard to dodge (it has an insane AOE and it moves really fast). In early lane phase it's pretty much a skill matchup. Since she is squishy you might just kill her if you have 14.png. Harass her a bit, then try to go into her, blocking luxlightbinding.png being your priority and try to kill her. DO NOT DIVE HER! After 6 things get tricky. Her luxmalicecannon.png is really painfull and you cannot block it a full combo of luxlightbinding.png+luxlightstrikekugel.png+luxmalicecannon.png can surprisingly get you killed so watch out! In teamfights she is really hard to reach thanks to her stupid enormous range on all of her skills. She will just stay back and use her skills to harass and pick up kills. You can try to reach her but her team will most likely protect her. However, killing her is very usefull for your team, so if you're sure you can do it, don't hesitate. You could get 1083.png, but it's really annoying to farm in this lane thanks to her luxlightstrikekugel.png and she will very likely bully you.

VS

Malphite

Hard

Wind wall blocks: seismicshard.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells:  4.png21.png or 4.png3.png

Another great matchup for Yasuo. This guy is a rock, literally. He counters you well thanks to his malphitepassive.png and landslide.png(this one slows your attack speed which will also make the cooldown on yasuoQ.png longer). How do you win against this guy? Pray for a miracle! My advice is to try to kill him pre 6 with help from your jungler as he is not that strong. Getting 14.png and trying to kill him early probably won't work as he is really hard to trade with. 3.png or 21.png are better for this matchup. Exhaust could help a lot, because he is a melee fighter and most of his damage is dealt in close range. Also 21.png can help you with his ufslash.png because this ultimate will likely get you killed with a little help from his jungler. Try to roam a lot, because you can't really deal with this guy. In teamfights, his ufslash.png is gamechanging, try not to stick too close to your teammates, because he will try to catch more in this AOE ulti. Don't even think about focusing him, just try to go for the carry. 1083.png is really hard to farm on this lane, so i don't really recommend it.

VS

Malzahar

Medium

Wind wall blocks: NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

UPDATE: I haven't yet played against the new malzahar and haven't seen him too much since he is banned like almost every game now, as soon as I will though, I'll come with an update.

In this matchup, pre 6 is a piece of cake even though your yasuoW.png doesn't block anything. If you play it right you can kill this guy easily with 14.pngalzaharcallofthevoid.png is really easy to dodge and the only tip I have is to care with his alzaharmaleficvisions.png, since it goes to another target if it kills the previous one. Post 6 it gets a little harder thanks to alzaharnethergrasp.png. You should be carefull because he can kill you at level 6 if he uses all set combined with 14.png or if his jungler ganks. I recommend getting 3140.png for this match, also 3155.png helps a lot too. In teamfights he can be reached easy but will probably be a little harder to kill because he gets health items like 3027.png,3116.png or 3151.png. He deals a lot of sustained damage and towards late game his alzaharnullzone.png becomes very potent. Focusing him down isn't a bad thing but their ADC might be easier to get. 1083.png can be farmed on this lane because he will push a lot and you farm well under tower.

VS

Morgana

Medium

Wind wall blocks: darkbindingmissile.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

This can actually be a hard matchup if Morgana is good. Early game she pushes like a monster thanks to her tormentedsoil.png, which by the way, try to not take damage from it.  You should try to pick an early kill with 14.png because she is really squishy. If you try to get close to her she will use darkbindingmissile.png (WHICH LASTS FOR AGES, GOD! DON'T GET HIT BY THIS THING), so block it with yasuoW.png. After 6 she gets soulshackles.png. This isn't necessarily an advantage for her. You can dash out of her ulti easily if there are minions nearby with yasuoE.png. An important detail about this matchup however is her blackshield.png! This spell will negate your knock-up on the 3rd yasuoQ.png. Early it doesn't give so much protection so you can probably destroy it with your stacked yasuoE.png and the passive from 3087.png since they both deal magic damage. In teamfights, whatever you do just don't get caught in her soulshackles.png or darkbindingmissile.png because you will most likely end up dead. Focusing her isn't exactly easy thanks to her skillset and the fact that she rushes 3157.png first. So try going for the ADC, but remember that she can use blackshield.png on him, so proceed with caution. 1083.png can be farmed on this lane.

VS

Nidalee

Easy

Wind wall blocks: javelintoss.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

This matchup should be pretty easy. Nidalee relies a lot on her javelintoss.png, so as long as you block it with yasuoW.png or dodge it you shouldn't have any big problems. In lane phase is all about dodging the spear and also don't get hit by bushwhack.png because they apply her passive debuff nidaleepassive.png on you. The passive gives bonus damage on her Q in aspectofthecougar.png and a much longer range on her W (the jump). You should be able to kill her early with 14.png. Don't dive her, cause she might outplay you thanks to her leap(W) in aspectofthecougar.png form. An extra tip: most Nidalee's go out of vision in lane in order to land their javelintoss.png, so if she goes missing, you should be expecting a spear out of nowhere or she's probably roaming so warn your team because her ganks are strong. In teamfights her poke with javelintoss.png is really strong and besides that she acts like an assassin she will try to apply her nidaleepassive.png on one of the carries and hunt him down. She is pretty hard to reach thanks to her primalsurge.png,aspectofthecougar.png and the fact that the passive gives her bonus movement speed in bushes. However, she is squishy and killing her is really useful for your team so if you have the opportunity, take her down. 1083.png can be farmed easily on this lane.

VS

Orianna

Medium

Wind wall blocks: orianaizunacommand.png,orianaredactcommand.png(target won't get the shield)

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

This is a medium-hard matchup. To be honest I don't really like enjoy playing Yasuo against Orianna. You can start 1001.png on this matchup because she relies a lot on her orianaizunacommand.png which is a skillshot that can be dodged with ease if you have enough speed.Pre 6 you could try to kill her early with 14.png, though she is hard to reach because her poke is strong and she also has her which will shield you. Her poke is strong mainly because of her orianadissonancecommand.png which can either slow you or give her movement speed, depending on who she wants to use it. Also, her passive oriannapassive.png gives bonus magic damage on her basic attacks, so you won't exactly have an easy time on this lane. Post 6 she gets orianadetonatecommand.png, which is a big deal actually. If she catches you in this ulti and her jungler is present you are 100% dead, unless you have 21.png. I think barrier is a better choice for this matchup because the chances to kill her early with 14.png are low if she's good. In teamfights, her main objective will be to catch as many as possible in her orianadetonatecommand.png, so try to not stick to close to your teammates. She is hard to reach and harder to kill if teammates protect her. You might wanna focus the ADC on this one. Don't get 1083.png on this lane because you won't be able to farm it thanks to her passive and aggressive playstyle.

VS

Pantheon

Hard
Wind wall blocks: pantheon_throw.png
Recommended starting items: 1029.png2003.png or 1054.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png3.png or 4.png21.png

THIS IS SPARTA! Seriously, in this matchup, the lane belongs to Pantheon. He's a perfect counter for Yasuo. Pre 6, his damage is insane so don't even think about trading with him. The fact that you can block his pantheon_throw.png doesn't help a lot because unlike yasuoW.png it has a low cooldown. What makes this lane REALLY HARD is his passive pantheonpassive.png which blocks basic attacks and spells that apply on-hit effects like your yasuoQ.png(and yes, it will BLOCK your whirlwind and will negate the knock-up). And if that wasn't enough, his gap closer pantheon_leapbash.png will instantly refresh his pantheonpassive.png (usually this spell refreshes after he uses 4 basic attacks or spells). Your only hope is to roam, but if he manages to follow you in time, he has the potential to stomp you all. Post 6, things actually get harder, because of his pantheon_grandskyfall_jump.png you won't really be able to roam anymore, unless he uses it somewhere else. I recommended 3.png because his damage is in close range and you could kill him on an engage if you place yasuoW.png right and you don't use your 3rd yasuoQ.png while his pantheonpassive.png is on. However, if you don't like this idea, you can go 21.png too, which can help a lot because he has quite some burst early and mid game. Late game he falls really hard and you might be able to duel him if he's not far ahead. In teamfights he will try to kill one of the carries but he has to come close to your team in order to do that and Pantheon dies pretty easily if he's CC'ed. Your best shot is still the ADC, so try to reach him if you can. Getting 1083.png is probably one of the worst ideas for this lane, so don't.

VS

Riven

Medium
Wind wall blocks: rivenfengshuiengine.png(Wind slash part)
Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1029.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png3.png

Yasuo has special taunts for this champ, in case you wanna know.

This matchup isn't exactly what you want, but it can go in your favor if played right. Pre 6 you shouldn't duel her and especially don't trade with her in melee range. The secret to win is to poke her a lot with your yasuoQ.png. She has a lot of dashes thanks to her riventricleave.png and rivenfeint.png, so don't let her get too close. Post 6, you might have an opening if she's not ahead you can kill her, poke her a bit and if she engages with rivenfengshuiengine.png, use 3.png on her and duel her and VERY IMPORTANT: block her rivenfengshuiengine.png (Wind slash). This might prove a bit difficult to do with your yasuoW.png because you will fight her in close range, but remember that you can actually dodge her ulti with your yasuoE.png, after that knock her up and kill her with yasuoR.png. In teamfights she's pretty predictable, she will go for a carry, but in order to do that she will have to get close to your team and if she is CC'ed she can go down with ease. However, I suggest trying to focus the ADC down. 1083.png is not that easy to farm because she will stick close to you and she will try to bully you a lot.

VS

Swain

Hard

Wind wall blocks: swaintorment.png,swainmetamorphism.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png3.png or 4.png14.png

You will most likely have a hard time in this matchup, especially if Swain is good. Pre 6 he can hurt a lot, even though you can block his swaintorment.png (he usually maxes this first). If he catches you in swainshadowgrasp.png he will deal a lot of damage, so do your best to avoid it (it's also why i recommended starting 1001.png for this lane). You could dodge this with your yasuoE.png and try to engage and kill him with 14.png. However, that is not very likely. After 6 he hurts even more thanks to his swainmetamorphism.png. The fact that you can block it with yasuoW.png, doesn't help a whole lot because he can stay for quite a long time in that form. What makes this matchup even harder is the fact that he rushes items like 3027.png and 3157.png(these are his core items) which will be a pain in the ass for you and along the game he will build tanky items like 3116.png and 3065.png because he is a sustained damage mage and he needs them. You can take 14.png for this match to reduce his healing from the ulti but I would go for 3.png as he needs to come close to you in order to take you down. You can rush 3123.png for his heal, since it's a cheap item. 3155.png helps a lot too in this matchup. In teamfights he acts like a CRAZY TANK (yeah, just like that), he comes in with his swainmetamorphism.png and will try to deal as much damage as possible to anyone and he will obviously use 3157.png (his ultimate deals damage when he is in STASIS!!!). I highly recommend to go for the ADC as he is really hard to take down. Don't get 1083.png on this lane because he is aggressive and will likely bully you in lane.

VS

Syndra

Medium

Wind wall blocks: syndraW.png,syndraQ.png+syndraE.png combo (blocks the ball), syndraR.png (THANK THE LORD!)

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

This is a easy-medium matchup. Your strongest advantage in this lane is the fact that your yasuoW.png blocks her syndraR.png. Pre 6 she is really annoying because of her spammable spells: she will spam syndraQ.png all around the place because it has a low cooldown and it deals quite some decent damage (it's a skillshot so that's why I recommended 1001.png too because it can be avoided easily with speed), her syndraW.png that also a applies a nice slow so she can land her other spells easily and her syndraE.png+syndraQ.png combo, in which if you get hit by a ball you also get stunned. She is really squishy early, so try to engage her with yasuoE.png and block syndraE.png+syndraQ.png combo (block the incoming balls) and try to kill her with 14.png. If you're not very used to this match or if you think you will have problems than you might as well take 21.png because she has a lot of burst. Post 6 she gets her syndraR.png (it's single-targeted and it's a point and click spell), which deals massive damage so it's your priority to block it with yasuoW.png. As long as you block her ultimate you shouldn't have problems dealing with her. In teamfights she is very squishy but will stay a bit behind and poke with her syndraQ.png and syndraW.png. She is not that hard to reach if she burns her spells, and she is quite easy to kill if CC'ed. You should try to block syndraR.png even if she doesn't target you with it. 1083.png isn't the best choice for this match because you will be busy dodging her balls.

VS

Talon

Medium
Wind wall blocks: talonrake.png,talonshadowassault.png (only the blades that struck the wall)
Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png3.png

This matchup can pretty much go in your favor thanks to yasuoW.png. Pre 6 you can win most of the trades if you block his talonrake.png (he usually maxes this one first but if he's a smart Talon he will max out talonnoxiandiplomacy.png against you). You should go in and trade with him only when you have yasuoW.png up, try to kite and poke him a bit too with your yasuoQ.png. If you play this right you should win most of the trades. Post 6, he gets his talonshadowassault.png which can be a pain in the ass. Get items like 2043.png or 3341.png to detect him while invisible. Even though yasuoW.png blocks some of the blades from talonshadowassault.png he can outsmart you. He can use taloncutthroat.png and get behind you and your wall and use talonshadowassault.png so you can't block it, so keep this in mind. As most Talon's do, he will roam a lot and his ganks are very strong, both pre 6 and post 6, so STAY ALERT and warn your team if he goes missing. In teamfights, he does what most assassins do, he comes in, tries to take down a carry and then tries to go out. Remember, you need vision in teamfights, so 3364.png is a must-buy. He can be put down easily if CC'ed and if he's not fed. 1083.png can be farmed in this matchup.

VS

Teemo

Medium

Wind wall blocks: blindingdart.png,toxicshot.png (it's a on-hit effect), bantamtrap.png(when he tosses it)

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

As on old saying told us: "the Devil has many faces."; well, Teeto is one of them. This dwarf can be a pain in the ass to deal with sometimes. However, your greatest advantage comes from yasuoW.png. The key to win this is to block his blindingdart.png which applies the BLIND debuff (this debuff negates your basic attacks, but not spells with on-hit effects like your yasuoQ.png). He is really squishy early so try to go into him with your yasuoE.png, BLOCK his blindingdart.png and try to kill him with 14.png. However this may not be that easy thanks to his movequick.png, which allows him to run away, so you might as well wanna knock him up. Post 6 he gets bantamtrap.png, which makes him an absolute jerk, he can plant these all over the map. Someone should carry a 2043.png or 3364.png and destroy them because you dont wanna have a teamfight in a barrage of these things. In teamfights he will most likely stay a bit behind and poke, and ofcourse he will plant his bantamtrap.png all over the area. He will likely use blindingdart.png on your carry to blind him. If you try to chase him, good luck, he will kite the hell out of you with his bantamtrap.png+movequick.png, however he is squishy and if you can reach him and avoid being blinded by his blindingdart.png you could kill him. Don't get 1083.png because it's hard to farm thanks to his aggressive play style.

VS

Twisted Fate

Medium

Wind wall blocks: wildcards.png,pickacard.png,cardmasterstack.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

This matchup depends a lot on how good and how experienced is the Twisted Fate player. Even though you can block most of his spells he can still be a pain. Pre 6 try to kill him with 14.png if he pushes, since he is really squishy, and block his pickacard.png (gold card) with yasuoW.png so he doesn't stun you while you try to reach him. His skillset allows him to kite and poke you pretty easily so keep that in mind. He deals a lot of damage if he manages to land his full combo on you (usually pickacard.png gold card + wildcards.png + cardmasterstack.png) so try to always block his GOLD CARD. Also be careful with their jungler as the stun on the gold card is pretty long and if he manages to land it on a gank it might result in a kill for them. Post 6 things get messy cause of his ultimate destiny.png. His roams are powerfull thanks to his pickacard.png and his teleport. He can surprise enemies, though he can teleport straight from mid to another lane, he has to go a bit out of vision, so STAY ALERT and warn your team if he's missing. As I said before, this guy is a piece of cake as long as you block his pickacard.png. In teamfights, if he gets 3100.png (which he will), he deals insane damage, try to block his card so he doesn't stun you or your carry and then try to kill him (but beware, he can kite really really well if he's good and pickacard.png has a low cooldown). The best thing to do is to shut him down early game because if he gets to farm or to take a few kills he becomes a monster late game. He can kill your carry only with pickacard.png+wildcards.png if he doesn't have any MR. This guy needs to be focused down because he deals a lot of damage and besides that he has a lot of utility. You can farm 1083.png on this lane.

A sample video for this matchup:

It's not really the best video, but I'm still working on this things. I'll also come with commentaries in the next videos. Remember! I'm a beginner :D.

VS

Varus

Easy

Wall can block: everything

Recommended starting items: 1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

Varus mid seems to be a thing now. This is a really easy lane for you, however. If you play a bit aggressive pre 6 you can totally kill this guy. He has no CC to stop you, except for his varuse.png which can be blocked or dodged easily with yasuoE.png. Just go into him and kill him with 14.png. Ofcourse, try to watch for his jungler too if you play aggressive. Also, try to not get hit by varusq.png because it deals a lot of damage. Try to stand behind minions too if he uses this because it reduces damage if the arrow passes through more enemies. Another tip: his varusw.png applies 3 stacks, which can be detonated by his other spells; each stack deals a percentage of your max health as magic damage, so you might wanna avoid that. After 6, he gets varusr.png which can be easily blocked by yasuoW.png or dodged with yasuoE.png. He is really easy to deal with through the whole game as long as you block his spells. He's doesn't have a strong kite and he also lacks an escape mechanism. Prior to these facts, in teamfights he will stay behind and use varusr.png when the time comes and will also spam his varusq.png. He is pretty easy to reach in teamfights and also to kill if he's unprotected, so take your time. Get1083.png. No need for explanations.

VS

Veigar

Easy
Wind wall blocks: veigarbalefulstrike.png,veigarprimordialburst.png
Recommended starting items: 1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

Haven't seen any Veigar's lately. However this should be an easy matchup for you. Pre 6 it's pretty easy, he can't really do much to you unless he stuns you with veigareventhorizon.png. Try to avoid getting stun, it's not that hard and if you're caught in the middle of it just move around and don't touch the walls. It's easy to pick up a kill on this guy, especially when his veigareventhorizon.png is down. Go in with yasuoE.png and take him down with your 14.png. Also don't let him farm his veigarbalefulstrike.png, cause he gets a lot of AP from it. His veigardarkmatter.png deals massive damage, but it's really really easy to dodge it. Post 6 he gets his veigarprimordialburst.png which deals a lot of damage. His only problem is that yasuoW.png blocks it. So, you still have the advantage. Stomp this guy early, don't let him farm and he won't be a big deal later. In teamfights his veigareventhorizon.png can be pretty usefull for zoning. If you played right he shouldn't be a big deal, however if he managed to farm and maybe get a kill or two his burst can be insane, so try to block his veigarprimordialburst.png at all costs. He is easy to kill cause he has no mobility and no escape mechanism. Get 1083.png for this lane.

VS

Vel'Koz

Medium

Wind wall blocks: velkozQ.png,velkozW.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

I haven't really play this matchup with Yasuo, but i can predict the way it will go. He usually maxes out first velkozQ.png which is a good thing for you cause you can block it. However, he can kinda trick with this spell. It's a trick shot, it splits in two when it reaches it's max range, so he could use it in a manner to still hit you even with yasuoW.png up. Keep this in mind. Also, as far as i noticed, he is really squishy early so try to get an early kill. Go in with your yasuoE.png and try to block velkozQ.png and velkozW.png and dodge his velkozE.pngotherwise you won't be able to reach him. However if you do these you should be able to take him down with 14.png. His velkozE.png can't be blocked, but it is a skillshot and it's not that hard to dodge it. I also recommended starting 1001.png on this matchup because he relies on skillshots. After 6 he gets velkozR.png, which is a pain in the ass. You cannot block it with yasuoW.png, and it's kinda hard to dodge it or to get out of it's action range because it slows the hell out of you. It also helps him stack his passive faster on you velkozpassive.png, which, by the way, it deals true damage. Keep these things in mind. If you managed to shut him down pre 6, you might be able to kill him again. In teamfights, he stays back and pokes the hell out of everything. Besides the damage he deals, he also has quite some utility: powerfull slows from his velkozQ.png and velkozR.png and an AOE knock from his velkozE.png. He doesn't really have any escape mechanism, so he shouldn't be that hard to reach, but his teammates will probably protect him. He is squishy, so killing him is an option, since it also helps your team a lot. 1083.png can be farmed on this lane if you're being cautious.

VS

Viktor

Medium

Wind wall blocks: viktorpowertransfer.png,viktordeathray.png

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

This is pretty much an even matchup, the best player wins. Pre 6, it's pretty hard to kill him thanks to his viktorgravitonfield.png and viktorpowertransfer.png (shield). However you could try to kill him early with 14.png. You should block viktordeathray.png+viktorpowertransfer.png with yasuoW.png (try blocking viktorpowertransfer.png this first) and if he uses viktorgravitonfield.png use your yasuoE.png to escape. Don't take free damage from viktordeathray.png, try to dodge it because it has a really big range and it's also his main harass tool (he maxes this first, usually). Post 6 he gets his viktorchaosstorm.png, which is a pretty strong spell, however you have an advantage because you can escape the storm by dashing with your yasuoE.png. You will still take the initial damage though so be carefull. The most dangerous thing about this guy is probably his viktorgravitonfield.png, just don't get stunned in this thing, because you will take a lot of damage and you could actually die. Just use your yasuoE.png to dash out of it. In teamfights he will probably be poking a lot with his viktordeathray.png and when you try to reach him he will use viktorgravitonfield.png+viktorpowertransfer.png and in extreme cases even viktorchaosstorm.png. He can be pretty annoying because he can kite you all day-long, especially if  he gets 3116.png. He is not a bad pick if you wanna take him down. Him, or ADC, it's up to you. Don't get 1083.png because it's hard to farm on this lane.

VS

Xerath

Medium

Wind wall blocks: xerathmagechains.png

Recommended starting items: 1001.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png or 4.png21.png

This matchup can be really really annoying. I recommend starting 1001.png because he is all about skillshots and it's gonna be all about dodging. His main harassing spell xeratharcanopulse.pngcan really hurt and you cannot block it (it's also pretty annoying when it comes to dodging). However, early he is squishy, so I think you could pick up a kill with 14.png. Just dodge his xerathlocusofpower.png and xeratharcanopulse.png by walking around or with yasuoE.png and, very importantly, block xerathmagechains.png (because it will stun you if it hits you) and try to go into him and secure him. I also recommended 21.png if you wanna go a safer route because his damage has quite some burst. Post 6 he gets xeratharcanebarragewrapper.png, which cannot be blocked, but it's relatively easy to dodge, especially if you have something around to use yasuoE.png on it. In teamfights he is not that hard to reach, as long as you block his xerathmagechains.png, you shouldn't have troubles. In fights he will stay back and poke a lot with his spells, because they have a huge range, so taking him down is a pretty good idea. You can farm 1083.png on this lane if you're cautious, but still i prefer the 1001.png start.

VS

Zed

Hard

Wind wall blocks: zedQ.png,zedW.png (it doesn't destroy it, but it can't go through the wall)

Recommended starting items: 1055.png2003.png or 1083.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png3.png

Another fair matchup for you. The secret to win this matchup is to not give Zed kills early. Zed needs kills, otherwise he falls pretty bad later and won't be able to do a lot of things to your team. Pre 6, he will be passive till around level 3 when he can gets all of his spells, and then he will start harassing you with combos like zedW.png+zedQ.png+zedE.png. Dodge or block his zedQ.png because it deals quite some damage (he maxes this spell). Also this shuriken deals more damage if you're the first target it hits, so keep that in mind. You can duel him pretty well with your yasuoQ.png, can even poke him a bit as long as you dodge his combos. I recommended 3.png exclusively for this matchup as it can fuck him up pretty bad. It gives you an amazing duel potential against him. Post 6, things get tricky, he gets zedR.png. If he tries to go in you with this, use 3.png, but that will probably make him reactivate zedR.png and teleport back. If he's smart he can actually trick you. He can use zedR.png, you use 3.png on him, he teleports back while exhausted and then he comes in again with zedW.png, so be carefull. Zed players are full of surprises. Also, rush 3140.png, so you can completely destroy him. In teamfights he will try to assassinate one of the carries, he will come in deal some damage and then juke around to escape. He can poke pretty well too with his zedW.png+zedQ.png+zedE.png. Chasing him is not the best idea, try going for the ADC if you can. You can farm 1083.png on this lane.

UPDATE: I changed this matchup to hard since with the new patch, Zed's ultimate cannot be negated anymore by 3140.png, which makes him a real pain in the ass, even if you have 3.png. While your exhaust is down, his damage is really high and if he's a good Zed i strongly recommend to not duel with him, because he can outplay you with ease and his damage is pretty insane at this moment.

Still no voice recorded, but as I said I'll get this fixed asap.

VS

Ziggs

Easy

Wind wall blocks: EVERYTHING (HUEHUEHUE)

Recommended starting items: 1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

This matchup is pretty easy, or at least it should be. This guy is pretty squishy early and you have a pretty substantial advantage with your yasuoW.png. Pre 6, he will spam his stupid ziggsq.png over and over again, which is not that hard to dodge. It can be blocked, but it's not that helpful because it has a low cooldown. You can go into him and secure him with 14.png, however that's not that easy because he has his ziggse.png which will slow you down and his ziggsw.png which will allow him to escape. Blocking these two at the same time it's not very likely. However, the idea in this lane is that he can't really kill you, so you can farm pretty easy. If he burns ziggsw.png don't hesitate to go into him. Post 6 he gets ziggsr.png, which is a good ulti, but it's not a big deal because your yasuoW.pngblocks it RIGHT WHEN IT LANDS. Even though it has a big range, it's not that much of a big deal, because the longer he throws it, the more time it takes to reach the destination (which makes it really easy to dodge). In teamfights he will stay back and poke a lot with his spells. He is not easy to reach thanks to his ziggse.png+ziggsw.png. Try blocking ziggsr.png at all costs. If you manage to kill him, it's pretty helpful for your team. You can get 1083.png on this lane.

VS

Zyra

Medium

Wind wall blocks: zyraE.pngzyraW.png (ranged plant basic attacks), zyrapassive.png

Recommended starting items: 1083.png2003.png or 1055.png2003.png
Recommended spells: 4.png14.png

You don't really see Zyra mid nowadays, but if you happen to encounter her, here's what I think. What makes this matchup really annoying for you, it's her plants, because you are melee. Pre 6, she is really squishy, so you might be able to pick up a kill if you play it right. Try to go in, block her zyraE.png with yasuoW.png, dodge her zyraQ.png (easy with yasuoE.png) and try to secure her. She will probably use her plants though to make your life harder. Post 6, she gets zyraR.png which is a pretty potent ultimate to be honest. If she casts this when you go near her, get out as fast as possible, because not only it will knock you up, but her plants will deal more damage to you, so try to run away, preferably with your yasuoE.png. In teamfights she's gonna poke, try to root you or the adc, she will spawn her annoying plants to deal damage to you and your team, however she is pretty easy to reach, so if you get the chance, take her down. She doesn't really have any escape mechanism. 1083.png can be farmed on this lane, you might, however, have some troubles dealing with her plants if they are near minions.

Team composition and synergies Back to Top

As you may know, Yasuo is a pretty versatile champion, as he doesn't work in any team composition or in any situation, so I'll give you my thoughts  about when to pick Yasuo and when to not pick Yasuo. Yasuo's yasuoR.png can only be applied on knocked champions, so that's the first thing you gotta think about. Here's a few champs that work really well with your yasuoR.png:

54.png 10/10

This guy's ufslash.png works wonder with yasuo's ultimate, it's like they are made for each other. The Malphite-Yasuo combo is pretty well know as being quite lethal. This combo can create a very powerfull initiation for your team.

62.png 10/10

Pretty much like Malphite, his AOE knock-up ultimate monkeykingspintowin.png in combination with yasuoR.png can create a deadly initiation, especially because this guy can sneak in with monkeykingdecoy.png and also surprise them.

267.png 9/10

Nami's ultimate namiR.png can work very well with your yasuoR.png, as the spell has a huge AOE knock-up, however the wave is pretty easy to dodge and sometimes it can be really predictable. Also you can ulti on her namiQ.png too.

254.png 9/10

Allright, even though Vi's viR.png is a single target knock-up, it can be really deadly in combination with your Last Breath. Her viR.png cannot be stopped by 3140.png and it's really usefull if you have problems with a carry like 67.png,236.png as you can easily put them out of the game with this combo.

12.png 9/10

Another good synergy for Yasuo, as this guy can use pulverize.png to knock a few people up and leave on open spot for you, he can also help you focus a carry thanks to his headbutt.png+pulverize.png combo. You can initiate good initiations with this guy, as his knock up is instant and he is really really tanky with his ultimate ferocioushowl.png.

61.png 9/10

Orianna's orianadetonatecommand.png can go really with your yasuoR.png, as it will not only knock enemies but will also deal massive damage. Problem is you don't really get to see Orianna and Yasuo on the same match, unless she is support(which is not really played a lot anymore), or you're Top and she is mid.

154.png 8/10

Zac can make quite a decent combo with Yasuo thanks to his zacE.png and zacR.png. He can use his slingshot to go into enemy team and then initiate with his ultimate and knock them up, and that's also were you come up too with your yasuoR.png.

53.png 8/10

Decent pick with Yasuo, even though his knocks are single-targeted. This guy can help you focus a squish down with ease thanks to his rocketgrab.png and powerfist.png. It's a fine combination because you can turn a team fight into a 5v4
thanks to his hook.

64.png 7/10

A versatile champion for versatile plays. This will be mainly focused around his blindmonkrkick.png, so he can either Insec a carry or a squishy into your team, or he can kick one of the enemies into their team, knocking them and this is where your yasuoR.png comes in.

40.png 7/10

Janna can be decent in somewhat situations, but problem is most of her knocks like howlinggale.png and reapthewhirlwind.png are used for disengages and I doubt you would wanna go in with your yasuoR.png. However she can go aggressive too and make a play with her ultimate in combination with 4.png to knock a carry or a few people towards you.

266.png and 31.png 6/10

These guys can put up some AOE knock ups thanks to their aatroxQ.png and rupture.png, however, problem is they are pretty easy to dodge.

Don't pick Yasuo if your team doesn't have any KNOCKS at all. Even though you have an in-build knock up, that's not enough sometimes, so I really don't recommend taking Yasuo on teams that lack this kind of CC.
Also if you don't have any of the champions listed up here but maybe have some other choices like: 131.png with her dianaE.png, or 14.png and hiscrypticgaze.png, or anything similar, it can be allright to pick Yasuo, depending on the enemy team and if you have at least two of these knocks in your team. However some of this knocks can happen really fast like 412.png's threshE.png, so try to be really alert if you wanna use yasuoR.png and, maybe, even spam R.

A second condition on picking Yasuo would be, like many other champions actually, the enemy team picks. For example I don't recommend picking Yasuo against strong disengagers like 12.png,201.png or 268.png. Also don't pick Yasuo against heavily tanky and CC teams with champions like 36.png,33.png,106.png ,89.pngbecause you can have a really hard time against them. If it's only one of them in the enemy team, sure it is ok, but if they are two or more, that might be a problem. Even though you can get a lot of penetration from 3033.png or 3036.png and your yasuoR.png's passive, you might still be put in a difficult position.

About Back to Top

Yo! I'm Kenshi and I bring you my Yasuo guide. It's my first guide, so don't be too harsh with me, also the work is still in progress. I've been playing LoL since the end of season 1, however I've started playing ranked in season 2 and my highest ranks since have been Diamond in solo queue (season 4) and Challenger at 3v3 teams (season 5). To be honest this isn't really my season, as you can see I'm in gold. I'm still progressing ofcourse, but I'm having a hard time getting used to all these changes and itemization. LoL keeps changing each season, LIKE A LOT.

I have been playing Yasuo since he was released, at the end of season 3, if I'm correct. He immediately shined into my eyes, because I really liked the champion, the idea behind him. I like his lore, the way they designed him (badass mofo) and, not ultimately, the skillset. I was amazed by the idea behind yasuoW.png as it was the first ability of its kind and I was like "HOW COMES NO ONE EVER CAME WITH THIS BEFORE?" and let's not forget his yasuoR.png, which was really interesting, mainly to the fact that your enemy has to be airborne in order to cast it (AND IT'S MAJESTIC AS FUCK, one does not simply forget that). You see, Yasuo is a really interesting champion, he is a Mid ad caster. You cannot consider him an assassin, he is more like a semi-assassin, a combination between assassin and a sustained fighter.
However, nowadays I feel like Yasuo is a bit weak, he's really hard to play with, even if fed. You will have a hard time carrying with this champion. I don't think he is the best pick in these moments, since he was nerfed a lot (I know he was OP, but I think they went too far with the nerfs, but ofcourse that's just a personal opinion). Yasuo can be shut down pretty easy because, think it like this, you have to go into an entire party with your yasuoR.png and you don't really have a great escape mechanism, since yasuoE.png won't help you in all situations. Yasuo is also very dependent on team comps, so think carefully when picking him.

Also, I'm thinking about starting an YouTube channel, I'm recording videos playing LoL. Most of them are kinda lame (:D), but I'm a beginner after all. I'm probably gonna post the channel when i feel like it's ready.

Oh and if you wanna say something/discuss something feel free to mention it in the comment section.

WORK IN PROGRESS! Back to Top

The guide is not finished yet, I still have to polish some things and maybe add a few more sections. I'll keep you updated, however.
