Summoner Spells Back to Top

This classic summoner spell combination is hands-down the best combination for someone like Zed (or any assassin for that matter at the moment). Its blend of early kill pressure with ignite's true damage and constant play-making potential with flash's mobility make it the best combination of spells at nearly every stage of the game.

Ignite: A bit of extra damage in all stages of the game. This spell has made the difference between getting a kill and dying in a multitude of situations. Although it does not give extra damage to your mark, it does allow for its raw true damage to become a form of insurance if your mark doesn't finish the job.

Flash: Taken on everyone and Zed isn't different. Gives him an extra dash in addition to his W and R, making him that much more mobile throughout the game. It also allows you to set up some pretty nasty flash W or flash R combos, allowing him to get to his target or traverse the battlefield that much faster.

[6.22 Update]
Runes and Masteries Explanation
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ferocity
  • Sorcery - Zed, whilst autos remain an extremely essential part of his damage, uses primarily abilities to deal his poke/all-in damage. As a result, the increased damage to these sources of damage creates more damage for Zed throughout the game over Fury.
  • Feast - The reason I choose this over Fresh Blood is to provide a sort of safety net in the laning phase. There will come a time where you are poked to shit and need that extra bit of sustain to make it past the laning phase. This mastery can be switched out for Fresh Blood quite easily, this is just a preference.
  • Vampirism - Akin to the point above, this gives you extra sustain at all points in the game. Due to its increased efficiency on Zed than its counterpart (Zed doesn't use AP), this is the clear option between the two available masteries. In addition, the extra 10 AD at level 18 will be negligible in comparison to the life-steal and spell-vamp.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Battle Trance V.S Bounty Hunter
----
More than likely you will be roaming around the map, getting kills from all 3 lanes and jungle. This mastery provides better scaling as opposed to its counterparts, however it provides a less consistent time window in which to reap its benefits. Battle Trance on the other hand, provides Zed with 5% bonus damage over 5 seconds, scaling while he is in combat. For Zed this mastery seems to be the better option as you are nearly always in combat for this amount of time or more when going in the for the kill or even a trade engagement. Furthermore, you will always be able to use the bonus gained from this mastery, whereas Bounty Hunter requires a significant snowball (3+ unique kills) in order to acquire a similar damage boost. For this reason, Battle Trance is my current choice for best mastery in this tier.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cunning
  • Savagery - Helps with last hitting, although on Zed this is really negligible due to the help he gets from his passive. This mastery's counterpart is also a decent choice.
  • Assassin - More damage, role is in the name, what more could you want?
  • Merciless - More damage, other mastery is terrible on Zed because he doesn't use mana.
  • Dangerous Game - Saved my ass more than a few times in very close skirmishes. Amazing mastery all around and its counterpart is complete garbage on Zed. Consideration can be made for the third option, Greenfathers Gift due to its good burst. However, I feel as though Dangerous Game is too strong and too useful to opt for Gift over it.
  • Precision - Bonus penetration :^)
  • Thunderlords Decree - Provides insane burst early; in and out of lane. All around the best, go to keystone for Zed.

The Kit

zedpassive.png
Passive - Contempt for the Weak
This passive is one of the most practical passives in the game as it can be used for many different scenarios. This alongside Zed's attack animation make last hitting extremely flexible on or off tower. It also adds to his burst damage both with and without his ult and can make for some pretty surprising upfront damage.

zed-razor-shuriken.png

Q

Zed's Q is his bread and butter ability in and out of lane. In lane it can be used to harass opponents from cs, poke them down to low enough health so that you can kill them, last hit from afar, and/or wave clear extremely easily. Out of lane this ability can be used for extreme burst damage from multiple shadows, zone enemies from important objectives, and finish off squishies. As a result, you should be maxing this first as it provides insane damage and poke.

zedW.png

W

This ability is what makes Zed so slippery and annoying as an assassin. If things start to go downhill or you need to close the gap, just zip across the rift with ease. What makes this ability especially essential, is its extreme utility and offensive power. In lane this can be used to help poke your enemies more effectively, surprise them with an instant blink, and escape untimely ganks. Out of lane its passive allows for more AD (and thus damage). It creates some insane juking potential and it is what makes Zed so lethal. As a result of this ability's versatility, it is essential that you save it for the appropriate situation or you could find yourself out of luck.

zed-shadow-slash.png

E

While this ability may not be his primary damage or utility source, it still provides a fair bit of both. This ability offers a useful slow, an extra source of damage for your ultimate, effective wave clear and last hitting ability. This ability can be used with great affect alongside your shadow for some effective W-E-Q harass combos in and out of lane. His E's overall smoothness and practicality make for a weapon in your arsenal.

zedR.png
R
When you think Zed you think damage, you think POP, you think Death Mark. This ability is Zed's signature move as he dashes across the battlefield to burst that squishy. If left alone, this ability can reach upwards to 1000+ damage on a squishy target while also providing an extremely good escape and juking potential. While this ability can be countered by items (Hourglass come to mind), this ability is essential in Zed's kit.

Skill Order

Q provides more damage, more lane harass (if you can hit it), and better ranged farming with its reduced energy. Although it still provides less sustained damage, it gives more burst which is ideal for mid lane squishies.
Maxing E second improves wave clear and damage output. Albeit you do lose out on some utility from the W, you can make up for it with good W positioning and skill shots.

Great for late game ar pen vs healing champions
Great late game ar pen item vs tanky opposition

    Tanky Variant

Situational Items

An alternative first item (More AOE and waveclear, less dueling potential)
    Sustain and raw damage
A good defensive option late game
Great vs lots of magic damage/cc
Counter for sustain champions (Swain, Vlad)
    Snowball & lots of roaming
    alternative source of cdr
    potentially good, still testing
    Option for a tankier build

Starting Items...

Aggressive

Long Sword, 3 pot: The go-to start for Zed in nearly every situation now. Its sustain and damage are unmatched by other starting combinations.

Mobility

Boots, 4 pot: Essential against champions that heavily rely on landing multiple abilities to kill or harass you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trinkets

Yellow: Best starting trinket to combat ganks and help against early invades.

Blue: Get this as soon as you hit level 9, it is insane. Perma-wards across the map; great for scouting and defensive warding alike.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First Back...

With the changes to ghostblade longswords are the value item to get at the moment. Get as many as you can first back and then build into ghostblade from there.

                                                           1036.png1036.png1036.png2031.pngor 3133.png2031.png
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mid Game Core...

With the game in mind, you have to make a decision on build path. I will give two generic build paths vs majority AD/AP.
Standard
1001_32.png3142.png3071.png

VS Big AP Action
1001_32.png3156.png3071.png
The only discrepancy is the maw priority if there is a big AP threat on the enemy team. Otherwise, straight damage should always be prioritized, especially when snowballing. More damage = more pressure = more kills = more wins overall.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Items...
  • 3156_32.png Situational depending on the amount of magic damage your lane or their team brings. An early 3155_32.png may even be necessary against oppressive AP matchups.
  •
  • 3140.png Don't be afraid to by this item early if their team calls for it. Undodgeable CC and other hard CC's will take you out of a fight all together, so this purchase can make the difference between life and death in any situation (teamfight, 1v1, etc...)
  •
  • 3033.png or 3036.png are both good late game options for armor pen later in the game depending on the enemy composition.
  •
  • 3071.png One of Zed's bread and butter items so to speak as it provides all the stats he wants; armor pen, CDR, health, and attack damage. One of the best items to get on Zed ATM.
  •
  • 3153.png With the removal of 3147.png second pop, I feel like blade of the ruined king is the better of the two options at the moment. It provides good sustain, additional damage to your ult with its active, and gives Zed insane dueling potential.
  •
  • 3142.png Despite nerfs to this item I still feel as though it is the best first item on Zed due to its build path, raw stats, and still decent active for creating plays around the map.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Situational...
  • 3031_32.png  Really good option for snowballing and late game damage.
  •
  • 3748.png A good option for going a tanky variant of Zed.
  •
  • 3147.png Still testing this item's viability on Zed ATM.

  • 3123.png A good, cheap buy for champions who sustain a lot in lane (great counter item).
  •
  • 3072_32.png A go to for raw damage and sustain.
  •
  • 3026_32.png Late game defensive option.
  •
  • 3074.png An alternative first item to opt for more waveclear and and aoe in teamfights.
  • 3158_32.png Great for if you're going without black cleaver.

  • 3117_32.png If you find yourself winning your lane hard and feel the need to roam, these are the boots of choice. It also gives you great assassination and escape potential if you gain appropriate distance with his abilities.

  • 3111.png A good choice vs a lot of undodgeable cc or excess magic damage.

VS

Ahri

Medium
  • Care for her ahriseduce.png, don't risk getting hit by it for a couple creeps or some extra experience.
  • Follow her roams, you can 2v2 or 3v3 with most of your lanes.
  • Keep the lane in the middle or at her tower unless you are looking for your jungler to gank her pre 6. You don't want to be put into a position where you are on tower 24/7.
  • Harass until you are 6 and attempt to all in if you have a level advantage on her. Be careful when she's level 6 as she has 1 more dash then you at all times and will catch you out if you go in too deep.
  • Be mindful of her charm cooldown when ulting. A good Ahri will save the ahriseduce.png for right after your ult, where you position is more predictable.

VS

Akali

Hard
  • She's pretty vulnerable to your harass levels 1-5, take advantage of this.
  • Don't let her proc her akalimota.png on you if at all possible, as this is where a large portion of her damage derives from. The initial hit doesn't do much damage so you can trade favorably if you minimize the proc.
  • At level 6 be wary of her kill potential
  • Consider picking a  3155_32.png early on if you either don't have a significant lead or are losing lane early.
  • Buy 2043.png, don't be stubborn and say "maybe next back", get some asap. You will regret if you don't in a fight where she waits out your R proc in her W.

VS

Anivia

Medium
  • Early levels you have a harass advantage on her if you dodge her flashfrost.png
  • Try to poke her down but refrain from tower diving (dat egg).
  • If she gets a lead just wave clear and roam (she will be constantly pushing).
  • Try to deny her blue buff by doing a coordinated invade with your jungler, this will alleviate some pressure from constantly wave-clear
  • Post 6 don't try to get too close to her without your W or the intent to kill because her  glacialstorm.png + frostbite.png harass hurts and is painfully consistent.
  • An early gank may prove beneficial due to her lack of mobility.

VS

Annie

Medium
  • Annie is a lane matchup where you are going to spend the majority of your time taking harass and trying to farm the best you can.
  • Asking for jungle ganks is not a bad thing here because this is a lane that if you get an advantage early it snowballs outta control quite quickly.
  • Don't greed for minon waves if you're very low, a good Annie (or mid laner for that matter) will make you pay for your greed.
  • Try to dodge infernalguardian.png or her disintegrate.pngwith you zedR.png or zedW.png. This will negate a lot her potential damage.
  • This lane puts an emphasis on proper spacing than a lot of the other lane matchups. With proper spacing you can avoid much of her harass while getting a fair amount of minions.

VS

Azir

Easy
  • Early on his poke will be nonstop so attempt to stay healthy throughout the laning phase.
  • Try to harass back when he trades with you whenever possible in order to keep pressure.
  • Once he uses 2 of his azirW.png, his ability to escape is limited, abuse this.
  • Be mindful that your zedW.png has a strange interaction with his azirR.png so don't rely on it to close the gap with 100% consistency.
  • After level 6 you should be able maintain a lead in the lane and roam to other lanes.

VS

Brand

Easy
  • This matchup is much like Lux in the sense that he has many jukeable skillshots.
  • He's really squishy early game so consider trying to all in him early on if ever you get a level advantage.
  • Always try to never get hit by that Q, 2 seconds of stun hurts.
  • Only go for AA on cs when you know his abilities are down or you have the confidence to dodge it, you don't want to be taking free harass in this lane.

VS

Cho'Gath

Hard
  • Try to chunk him early before his sustain starts kicking in.
  • If you get silenced while ulting your combo is harshly delayed, be careful of this.
  • Ask for a gank early if you need the extra help.

VS

Diana

Medium
  • Very hard to trade with pre/post 6, use Q.
  • In sustained fights try to ult her Q to negate a lot of her ulty damage.
  • Since she is melee try to hit her with an E whenever she comes up for cs.
  • She will most likely look to roam post 6, be ready to respond to this with your own roaming.

VS

Ekko

Easy
  • This matchup actually goes really well for Zed due to Ekko being melee.
  • His ult can negate your ult damage so keep that in mind on all ins.
  • The rest of damage can be easily avoided if you space correctly so be mindful.

VS

Elise

Hard
  • Her poke is very effective and much easier to land than your so it is extremely important to respond to her harass with your own.
  • Her E can potentially negate a lot of your ultimate/damage in general, so keep track of its cooldown when optimal.
  • MR items can help such as 3155_32.png if you feel the need for extra durability.
  • Always try to dodge her E, if it lands she has free range to take a massive chunk of your HP.

VS

Fiora

Hard
  • This is one of the worst match ups for Zed and is often used as the ultimate counter pick if you attempt to pick Zed early in the draft phase.
  • Early on attempt to keep the minion wave in your favor as it will help if she attempts to trade with you early on (minion damage hurts).
  • Don't be afraid to ask for ganks as this lane will be especially difficult.
  • Post 6 always be careful of her diving you and try to stay healthy, her ult will allow her to dive you with ease and she can do a LOT of damage.
  • Instead of trying to get kills early in lane, attempt to farm out the landing phase and looking for roaming pre and post 6 in order to maintain a lead. 1v1ing her in most situations will prove futile.

VS

Fizz

Medium
  • Be careful of early trades and be sure to keep those health pots ticking.
  • If tries to shark you, don't try to dodge it with your ult. Instead take the shark, and as it ticks down use your ult. It will negate all the damage and act as a good baiting maneuver. *This interaction is currently bugged so you are better off just trying to dodge the fish*
  • Trade hard with him levels one and two as he doesn't have any real answer for your E or Q harass. Red pot might be a good start in this situation.

VS

Heimerdinger

Medium

  • Typically heimerdingers will start Q and put down 3 tower asap to shove the lane really hard, ask for a jungler gank in this case. Early game he will have no wards and your kill potenial on him is immense with pretty much any jungler.
  • He has a surprising amount of burst at his disposal now with his R W so be wary of this and try to dodge it. When ulting on him watch out for his R Q tower as it packs a wallop.

VS

Jayce

Medium
  • Jayce is a hard skill matchup in favor of Jayce in almost all situations vs Zed.
  • Watch for any mistakes he may make when harassing you in cannon stance, ie overextending over the minion line, AAing you while you have the minion advantage etc...
  • His Gate + Q combo is easily telegraphed by the gate and can therefore be dodged easily with your W.
  • Look for and keep track of his cooldowns and don't be suprised by anything he throws at you. Before you engage think through what you would do in every situation in your current lane.

VS

Karthus

Easy
  • You basically dumpster Karthus early (but so does everyone).
  • You can dodge his requiem with a well timed ulty.
  • Either shove and roam, or kill him if you get an advantage.
  • Start either boots to dodge his Q harass or Fort pot to kill him outright.

VS

Kassadin

Easy
  • He's very weak pre 6, so zone the fuck out of him.
  • Always keep wards at key locations cause they usually call for tons of ganks.
  • If at any point in the laning phase he ults on you to harass, ult on him and punish him.
  • You need to shut him down early and follow his roams or take his tower. He will exert astounding map pressure and you need to react to this.
  • With the removal of his silence (as well as his early game harass dmg) this lane will be even easier than before.

VS

Katarina

Medium
  • Since she is melee it should be fairly easy to punish her with your abilities as she comes up for cs.
  • Try not to take too much free poke as this can lower your ability to trade and acquire farm.
  • This is a really uncomfortable matchup for both parts because most of the time it will just be a farm/roam with no real 1v1 kill potential.
  • Early on in the laning phase it will be a war of attrition between her 1029_32.png 5x2003_32.pngor1001_32.png 4x2003_32.png vs your1036_32.png 3x 2003_32.png, so try to get good trades in with your superior dmg early.

VS

Kayle

Hard
  • If you get this lane try to kill her b4 she hits level 6.
  • Throughout the game be extra careful who you all in because kayle can negate all of it.
  • Try to cs and ask for ganks.
  • Out roam her post 6 as she has really lousy mobility and ganks.

VS

Kennen

Hard
  • HIS harass and usage of resources to harass is very much like yours, so its all about landing dem skill shots throughout the laning phase to attain lane dominance.
  • Learn from my mistakes and don't blow your R+E+Q load on HIM when HE is in HIS E (Lightning Rush thingy). Chances are you'll miss your Q and HE'll turn and fuck you.
  • HE'll be building Zhonyas early so always be careful when trying to all in HIM.

VS

Kha'Zix

Medium
  • Be wary of Kha's strong level 1.
  • Post 6 you have a bit more harass and power over him, use it.
  • Don't blow everything through invisibility as you might miss your combo.
  • Consider buying pinks if his ult is causing you problems in killing him.

VS

LeBlanc

Medium

  • When she goes for a combo or all in on you, make sure you ult at least one of her abilites to try and screw up her combo, i.e her first/second Q, W, or E.
  • Early laning phase (pre-6) shove her to her tower and make her farm on it. Her wave clear is very shitty especially early levels so take advantage of this and create a cs lead early.
  • Don't be afraid of her Q harass and just walk away after she hits you with it, make her pay for that harass and go in when she has her abilities on cooldown.
  • Now that she doesn't have a silence the matchup is much easier to deal with.

VS

Lee Sin

Medium
  • Throughout laning phase he will have more damage than you if he can hit his Q, use your minions to prevent this.
  • Keep your W ready for his flash kick in case of ganks.

VS

Lissandra

Medium
  • I find this matchup similar to Lux in the respect that she is relatively squishy early levels and her poke isn't nearly as bad as some other mid laners.
  • Hitting 6 first in this matchup can be helpful as it gives you immense pressure until she hits 6.
  • She will typically build 3157_32.png early and have her ult otherwise, so be careful when going all in.

VS

Lux

Easy
  • Lots of juking potential as all of her abilites are skillshots.
  • Her innate squishiness allows you to harass her very effectively.
  • Don't let her shove you to tower as she will harass the fuck out of you when you are trying to cs, instead try to shove her to her tower and ward accordingly.

VS

Master Yi

Medium

  • Even though his meditate isn't as strong as it once was it is still a strong tool against your ultimate damage, don't take it lightly.
  • His new Wuju Style and Alpha Strike AD scaling make him (in my opinion) extremely strong and deadly in a 1v1, as well as while he is pentakilling your teamates.
  • Hit him with harass as often as possible and always try to maintain a health advantage in lane.

VS

Morgana

Easy
  • Harass her all game, her shield doesn't block anything but your slow.
  • If you ult her chains right b4 they are about to stun you, you can dodge the stun.
  • Very easy to juke her abilites.
  • Try to always have the minions advantage and shove early, this aggression will allow you to roam more efficiently and will make it so you don't get shoved to tower 24/7.

VS

Nidalee

Medium
  • This matchup is actually one that I find really annoying even with the recent changes to her. When built AD she packs a huge punch early in the laning phase and she can splitpush really well. When built AP she doesn't have as much poke as she used to, however she still has some insane burst, sustain, and mild poke.
  • Try to press your advantage early and make her burn through her pots and healing.
  • Match her roaming in order to keep up with her throughout the game (you aren't going to win by farming and pushing tower all game vs her).

VS

Orianna

Medium
  • Same as with Lux, typical ap caster with an innate squishiness.
  • Her ult is typically easy to dodge with yours. Because of this try making it seem like she can kill you and remove a lot of her damage potential with your ultimate.
  • Take control of the lane early or she will harass you throughout the laning phase making it really hard to roam or respond to jungle pressure.
  • A good Orianna will be dificult to deal with as she will keep constant pressure on you in both cs and harass. Because of this you should not underestimate your laning opponent.

VS

Pantheon

Hard
  • His passive makes it difficult to gauge your damage on him (blocks your passive).
  • Try fighting him after 6 as he has no combat oriented ulty.
  • Sustain early and care for ganks (that stun).
  • Follow him on roams whenever you can as his can be especially deadly to your lanes.

VS

Riven

Hard

  • Levels 1-5 you are the bitch, unless she makes a silly trade without shield and takes a large amount of minions aggro.
  • DON'T BE AFRAID TO BURN FLASH This is especially true in this matchup because if she takes one kill you are going to have one hell of a lane.
  • Post 6 it is all about outplaying if your going in for the 1v1. Try to, before hand, harass her down or wait for her to use her abilities on the wave.
  • ROAM ROAM ROAM Roaming is essential in this matchup as you will now get many kills from her alone, You should be providing more pressure for your team than her to out scale her.

VS

Ryze

Medium
  • Attempt to dominate early, as his mid-late game is a nightmare.
  • If your unable to snowball the lane just settle with farming, DON'T give him any risky situation to capitalize on.
  • Shove and roam for this lane, his roaming is extremely weak.
  • Watch for if he took teleport as this is a sign you need to take advantage of his lack of a combat summoner. In addition you should look to counter roam on his teleport ganks as best you can.

VS

Swain

Medium
  • This guy's harass is a pain in the ass so try to either all in or farm from a range.
  • Try to all in him if you hit 6 first.
  • Harass him down until you can kill him, care for his regen when ulting in.
  • Ganks early are extremely helpful so be sure to ask for some to snowball the lane.

VS

Syndra

Medium
  • Pre-6 you are her bitch unless she lets you get close, try to farm as much as you can and ask for jungler ganks.
  • Level 6 changes the dynamic of this lane drastically as both of you are very much vulnerable to each others level 6 all in. Attempt to maintain a health advantage before ulting her.
  • Use your ult at the same time as you see her ulty animation go off whenever possible, this will prevent a large chunk of damage and could make the difference between life and death.

VS

Talon

Medium
  • Early game your damage output is higher than his so attempt to force trades often if you have the minion advantage.
  • At level 6 try to absorb some of his burst by ulting through one of his abilites, therefore you'll kill him before you die.
  • I would recommend roaming for an advantage rather than relying on lane kills for a snowball.

VS

Teemo

Easy
  • This one can be tricky early due to his blind but he is squishy nonetheless.
  • He'll try to aa you whenever you go for a minions so until the point where you can kill him I'd recommend farming at a distance.
  • If you can all in him early with an early xp advantage and/or red pot then go for it, it will save you loads of lane harass in the process.
  • Satan.

VS

Twisted Fate

Easy
  • Easy to bully in the first few levels, use this to your advantage and try to keep him pushed in as to limit his roaming potential.
  • Ult as he uses yellow card on you to dodge the stun.
  • Ganks are good in this situation as he has little mobility early game.
  • Try to pressure when you can't follow him for a gank by invading jungle, pushing tower, or ganking the other lane.

VS

Vel'Koz

Easy
  • Fairly easy to juke around his abilities and harass him in lane without much retaliation.
  • Be wary of early tower pushes and always try to keep the wave either in the middle of the lane or near his tower.
  • Mid/Late game he becomes much like Xerath in the sense that his lack of mobility makes him an easy target.

VS

Viktor

Medium
  • A standard farm lane but he can be a lane bully if played properly.
  • Through proper trading and farming a level 6 all in should be very possible.
  • Roaming is very optimal against him as he has minimal ganking options.

VS

Vladimir

Hard
  • Don't be afraid to trade with Vladimir just due to his sustain, if you do he will have free reign over your anus.
  • When looking to ult him wait for his pool so you can put as much damage as possible onto Vladimir.
  • You can dodge the damage on his ultimate with yours right when its about to trigger, making you deceptively tanky in a duel.

VS

Xerath

Hard
  • Xerath I find is now one of the hardest matchups for a majority of mid laners. His kit offers peel for him if you engage, harass if you don't, and mana regen if you try a war of attrition. For these reasons I find a skilled Xerath extremely hard to deal with.
  • You are going to need to roam post 6 as this is one of his weaker areas. When doing so be careful of his ult as he can get a consolation prize if you or your allies get too low.
  • When he is charging up his Q try to position yourself away from the minions so he must make decision between harass and pushing the wave. This also gives you more room to dodge it.
  • After level 6 you should press your advantage with caution, as all ins against Xerath can go south if not played properly. Try your best to dodge his E as it will easily set you up for his other abilities.

VS

Yasuo

Medium
  • A very skill oriented matchup with Zed having the slight advantage if played correctly.
  • Take exhaust for his ultimate and when he tries to all in.
  • You can use your ult and your shadows to dodge his knockup. Once dodged he is significantly weaker and you can dumpster him in terms of damage.
  • If he takes exhaust (as he should vs Zed) be wary of him exhausting him once you ult.
  • Past 30+ minutes you should win every 1v1 fight with him unless you get extremely outplayed.

VS

Ziggs

Medium

  • His poke is ridiculous, and he will probably will get you on tower. Its essential that you kill this little shit early before he claims the cs advantage.
  • Try going for kills on him 1v1 before he gets armor.
  • Roam whenever you get the chance, once he backs shove and roam, if he farms wraiths, farm and roam.
  • Follow him when he tries to go for an ult on other lanes, its an easy time to catch him off-guard.

VS

Zilean

Medium
  • This is one of the weirder lanes when playing Zed because the dynamic of the lane dramatically changes when you both hit lvl 6.
  • Pre 6 if you poke properly and respond to his bomb harass the lane should be fair game as to who is going to come out on top.
  • Post 6 however he attains an ult that counters yours with gusto so you either have to kill him quickly before he can use it or don't engage at all.
  • What makes this matchup more annoying than others is his late game rather than his laning phase, as his ult is a great countermeasure to your burst.

VS

Zyra

Medium
  • This lane is similar to that of Lux, although I find it genuinely more difficult.
  • Early those Q's are going to hit you hard so attempt to stay at a range to farm instead of walking up for every last it.
  • Upon reaching 6 (or close to) try to shove out and refrain from being pushed in.
  • Avoiding getting hit by her E (snare) as much as possible. This will save you a lot of harass and possibly the kill.
