Summoner Spells Back to Top

14.pngIgnite is crucial for zed to finish off/execute a target whether it is with his ultimate combo or with a standard shadow combo. Ignite is a must and what you should be running on zed ALL the time.

4.png- If you aren't running flash then you are setting yourself up for failure. FLASH IS A MUST ALWAYS.

New Runes Back to Top

Electrocute.png?width=32- Electrocute is pretty self explanatory, it is very similar to last season's thunderlords decree 6362.png. Zed's kit revolves around his burst damage from W E Q W auto attack combo which will activate Electrocute and deal serious damage. Other Domination keystones are fun to use but electrocute is the most consistent and effective.

Sudden%20Impact.png?width=32- Sudden Impact is great with Zed because most his W and his ultimate will activate this rune and give him the extra leathality that he needs to burst down squishy targets.

Zombie%20Ward.png?width=32- Zombie Ward is needed for laning and split pushing, this will allow you to have vision in potential gank panths for lane and cut off points while you are split pushing later in the game. This rune is good for a melee burst champion to prevent overextending and being vulnerable.

Relentless%20Hunter.png?width=32- Relentless Hunter is good for roaming since zed isnt very mobile without his W. If you use your W while roaming it will cut your kill potential on a roam down significantly so having the extra movement speed is good for quick roams and helps snowball. Along with roaming it is good to chase down an overextended squishy adc or midlaner.

Triumph.png?width=32- Triumph will help a zed survive a very close trade kill in lane or an escape in teamfights after picking someone off. Restoring your health after a kill is crucial considering in lane trades and fights will be a close call so having this extra health will save you from dying and snowballing the enemy. Plus 25 gold is always nice too.

Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32- Having the 7% extra damage while an enemy is below 40% health has great synergism with his passive which gives 10% extra damage on his next auto attack when an enemy is below 50% health. Having these 2 on top of a duskblade 3147.png passive creates serious damage.

zedq.png- Always start your Q for early lane poke or safe farming. Combining both of these things will lead to early lane success. Maxing your Q will help your trades with your ultimate or your shadow combo because more times than not especially with your standard shadow combo, you will be hitting 2 Q's more times than you will be hitting 2 E's. Your E is designed to help you set up landing your Q's when you do this combo. Like I said you will throw your shadow and follow it with your E and then throw your Q's, keeping this in mind you will be aiming for your character and your shadow Q's to land which will rarely leave you in range to land your character E's. If any of this confuses you, comment below and I can elaborate more in a personal way through a message.

zedw.png- I will take W as a 2nd skill and max it last. The only time I wont take W is in an aggressive melee lane that I am confident I can trade well with. If you can trade well with your opponent at level 2 then take your E ability zede.png 2nd and use it for a quick trade with your Q and an auto attack to activate Electrocute as well. Otherwise, taking your W 2nd allows for safety in lane in case of level 2 cheese ganks.

zede.png- I take E as my 3rd ability and max it 2nd. Another situation in which I take E 2nd is if my lane opponent is shoving my lane and i need the extra damage to setup my minions under tower to farm properly.

zedr.png- Level whenever you can (lvl 6,11,16)

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

STANDARD START. Refillable pot saves you money in the long run especially in poke lanes. Longsword starts your core and gets you your hexdrinker or durk whenever you go back.

Core Items

DOMINATING SNOWBALL. These items are in order of how they should be built. If there arent many AP threats then you can rush all 3 of these items.
If there are is an AP lane and Jungle then you can take this setup rushing maw first into your duskblade then finish your merc treads and continue to your ghostblade. If there is heavy CC then after maw go into your mercs then duskblade then ghostblade.
VS AD LANE. I will rush my duskblade and take tabi's into a lane that is AD oriented like talon or yasuo. Followed by ghostblade and cleaver for max cooldown reduction and penetration
HEAVY SNOWBALL. If you are snowballing like an animal (3/0 before first item) then get cooldown boots and ghostblade to rush some cooldown reduction to take the game into your hands and make everyone on the enemy team fear your damage and low ultimate cooldown.
Example Late Game Build- This is for heavy ap and cc compositions that will keep you alive while doing heavy amounts of damage to tanks and squishy champions.
Example Full Build- This is vs heavy AD compositions, this is great for surviving fights and dealing damage to tanks and squishy champions.

Early Lane Back to Top

  1. Generally speaking you shouldn't play too aggressive until level 3 and 6 (keep in mind of jungler presence during level 3 since ganks happen around then) . Your lane phase is pretty good because you use energy for your abilities and that is a crucial part of your sustain. Keep looking for standard shadow trades when you can because they are very safe combos that dont put you out of position. If you use your shadow aggressively in lane, then you need to play back and potentially give up farm while it is down.
  2. Scuttle control is very important so just in case you will lose priority by using your shadow combo early on then save it to look for pressure on scuttle vision.

Mid Game Back to Top

  1. You need to start roaming and pressuring tier 1 towers in side lanes once you take mid lane's. Once you start roaming with Zed in the mid game you will snowball and take objectives if your ultimate is up and mid lane is pressured.
  2. Always pressure your lane if you want to leave and go to a side lane.
  3. With your core items you will always get summoners or kills whenever you roam to a side lane because your kill pressure is very high and not something to neglect.

Late Game Back to Top

  1. You are practically full build if you arent already now you need to be focusing on your map and checking where the carries and tanks are, you need to be able to pick off the carries before during or after a team fight.
  2. Try to find a flank for the back line if they are grouping down a lane and pick off the one of their carries.
  3. You cannot be in the front line soaking damage, you have to find a gap and hop onto the adc or squishy enemy.
  4. If you are all behind then instead of looking for a pick in a fight you need to be pressuring side lanes to stall out the game

Tips to keep in mind. Back to Top

  1. If you Q flash E towards a low target, it deals great burst damage especially if you throw in an auto attack and ignite, its a great way to stumble a target if your ult and shadow is down and they think you have no kill pressure.
  2. If your W is on cooldown and you cast your ultimate on someone, if you hit your E on that target it will lower your W cooldown by about 2 seconds. This is crucial when you dont have shadow up when you ultimate.
