Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png:10/10

FLASH! The Spell you need the most! Engage, disengage, kill secure, survival secure, take it every game

14.png: 9/10

Ignite is the second best Spell you can take. Zilean can't really secure kills all by himself due to the fact that his only damage ability is timebomb.png, so Ignite does it for him.

12.png: 7/10

TP is something you might need if you are getting pushed and want to get to your lane fast, plus is a free gank, TP on a ward of yours in other lanes and get a kill. Although you miss a lot of offense/defense by not picking spells like Ignite or Barrier. It requires you to play really defensively because you are missing 14.png to go all-in on your opponent laner

21.png: 5/10

Against CC and/or AD opponents, Barrier is your best friend, especially pre-6.
*EDIT*
I've been thinking about Barrier for some time, from my point of view, Barrier for Zilean post-6 is too much of a waste thanks to chronoshift.png and due to the fact that you might have bought defensive items like 3003.png by that time. Which means that, in other words, Barrier could be helpful only for the first 5 levels. With that in mind, I don't feel like getting a summoner spell for 5 levels is useful. You could just play the farming game and freeze the lane waiting for level 6, instead of getting a summoner spell that gets useless post-6 for a champ like Zilean. Of course you could use it post-6, but for me, Zilean's chronoshift.png and items you might have bought nulify its effect.

1.png: 5-10/10

Cleanse is a spell that brings alot of fights to the table whether it's good or not. The obvious question to answer to before you pick it alongside Flash is: "How much CC do my opponent mid laner / opponent team has/have?" It is considered a really good pick against opponents that start their combo with a big form of CC, like 1.png 103.png and others, and especially if their team comp also involves other champs that have enough CC to stomp you before you can even flash out or ult Cleanse should be your secondary spell. In another scenario in which your opponent laner doesn't have alot of CC but their team has as a whole, you can ask your Support to build a 3222.png later in the game, instead of you wasting your secondary spell against a lane opponent to whom it won't have an actual effect.

Masteries Back to Top

Of course you can adjust the masteries as you want, but that is my personal preference as for now. Let's talk about each mastery individually:

Ferocity

Sorcery: Quite obvious, the extra AP is much more needed for Zilean instead of the AS given by Fury

Feast: The health restored will help your lane problems quite much if you run out of pots early

Natural talent: This'll help your low damage AA problems a bit, and of course the additional AP is always helpful for a better timebomb.png or chronoshift.png

Oppressor: Using your timewarp.png on the opponent will amplify the damage you inflict to him with your AA's and timebomb.png. It will also work with your allies' CC

Cunning

Wanderer: This will help your roaming and getting back to lane problems

Secret Stash: That's a nice mastery to use to help your survival problems. Seems to be the best of the 3 in this line

Meditation:  Now that the mana pots are out of the game (R.I.P.) mana regen is really helpful

Dangerous game: This one may save you a lot of times in fights that you could have been dead otherwise. Might not seem much, but 5% on champion kills and assists is way too good

Precision: Better compared to intelligence since I am not the type of guy that wants to build CDR

Thunderlord's Decree: Possibly the best mastery in the game right now. It helps Zilean A LOT with his damage problems

With the old Zilean you had to max Q and choose from W and E to max second, BUT with the new one, you still have to max Q and then level up W and E EQUALLY, with only a slight advantage on W for the double bombs. The CDR that W offers and the slow % that E can give compliment each other very good and these 2 have to be leveled up together

Passiv.PNG

Zilean's Passive:

This passive allows you to reach higher levels easier to yourself and/or your ADC, in case you are playing as a Support
A nice example is level 2, you can reach level 2 easier while in the Mid lane, so you can get your W second and got for an all-in Q-W-Q with some AA's and possibly 14.png for the kill.
This can be done in the Bot lane too, if you get access to your level2 together with your ADC while the opponents are level 1, it is -almost- a guaranteed kill

Q.PNG

Zilean's Q:

This ability is Zilean's bread and butter, your only damage ability, which deals heavy amounts of damage and stuns if thrown twice with the Q-W-Q combo, max it first and poke everyone

W.PNG

Zilean's W:

This ability makes the double-bomb combo possible, and allows you to just E-W-E-W-E-W-E endlessly with only a small amount of CDR, especially in the late game, you can max this one second to go ham with the double-bombs and E even more

E.PNG

Zilean's E:

Zilean's E ability, is used to go offensive, slowing the enemies and allowing the double-bomb combo to be easier, or speeding up your allies to secure a kill or start a teamfight, it can also be used defensively to get away of the enemy chasers, choose if you want to max this one or the W second, maxing this will make the slow/speed up boost reach trumendous heights, like 99% at the last rank

R.PNG

Zilean's R (Ultimate)

Oh boy, Zilean's R is hands down at least one of the top-5 in the game. A free revive for a member of your team, including you. The best Ultimate to have in a teamfight late in the game, revive your ADC or whoever is the biggest damage dealer or just avoid a death in the early game, during the laning-phase. I love this ability so much!

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Most common starting items. The AP, Health, Mana regen and passive that the Ring provides are really useful for whichever AP mid exists right now
Can be used for dogding skillshots as most midders are AP and use skillshots. Not as good though, you will be behind with this start. By buying boots that early you are missing AP, which makes you invest heavily in farming and avoid fights at all costs
It has gotten some nerfs to be honest, but it is still viable. Frost Queen's Claim also offers a slow with its active, which might lead to a Q-W-Q combo in the slowed target. Furthermore, it offers 3 pots and not 2 like Doran's
The warding totem is the way to go. Really efficient, double wards, low CD, just go for it

Core Items

These should be your 1st back items. Well, not all of them. Tear is your go-to, then, if you have the gold needed, go for the Seeker's if against AD or the Rod if against AP, if you have less gold, go for boots
1st item: Finish one of these early depending on the game. Zed fed? Go for Zhonya's. If LB is fed go for Abyssal
2nd item: After your first item completed go for the boots. 99% sorc's
3rd item: In case you started with the Spellthief's edge, finish it as your third item or else go for Rabadon's
4th item: You can finish Archangel's as a 4th, no need to rush it. All you need of it is the tear early
5th item: the one you didn't buy at first
6th item: Raba in the Spellthief's start, Void in the Doran's Ring start
Frost Queen's Claim start recommended build
    Doran's Ring start recommended build

Situational Items

Rylai's is in fact a nice item to get, offers a decent amount to a rather squishy Zilean, and the slow it gives you makes it easier to hit your double Q combo
Luden's Echo is a solid item pick on ZIlean, as your double Q combos also get its effect, which means even more damage together with a stun
Actually, it's not a troll item on Zilean. Along with the stats it gives (no one cares about them :'( ) you also have its active. You might think "Zilean has his Ult dumbass". Well, in fact, by taking GA you can keep its active for yourself AND use your Ult in a teammate, because 2 revives are better than 1 in a late teamfight
Kind of a weird item, but Zilean can use it due to his lack of deaths, thanks to his E, R etc.
An alternative to the MP boots. I personally prefer the MP ones since I like maxing my damage as much as possible. The CDR is also helpful though if you want prefer spamming over damage. TL;DR personal preference between damage and spam

VS

Ahri

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Easy
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Hard

Watch out for her full combo starting with her E, the charm. Avoid the charm and you're cool. Her Q also deals heavy amounts of damage to each enemy along its path, if she missed either one go on and Q her

VS

Akali

Medium

Difficulty: Medium to Hard

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Hard

Harass her as much as you can pre-6 and try to get a kill as she is weak with a little help from your jungler. After-6, you still have the ability to kill her but she has to ability to kill you too, and she is really terrifying, leave your turret only if your jungler is close.

VS

Anivia

Easy

Difficulty: Easy to Medium

Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

Anivia is a cool lane, she isn't a high burst champ, try to not get stunned and blocked by her wall, give her some bombs in exchange and you are completely fine

VS

Annie

Easy

Difficulty: Easy to Medium

Farming: Easy
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

Similar to Ahri, watch out for the full combo, starting from her passive's stun. If you get stunned after-6, you might even not be able to Ult yourself if she is quick, try staying close to your turret

VS

Azir

Hard

Difficulty: Hard

Farming: Hard
Killing pre-6: Medium to Hard
Killing after-6: Hard to Very Hard

Annoying lane coming. Azir is pretty bad for you, his soldiers will deal MASSIVE amounts of DMG and he is difficult to kill, especially after-6, with his Ult

VS

Brand

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium
Killing after-6: Medium to Hard

Tough lane, if you go and Q him, he can stun you by E-Qing you and you will get heavy amounts of damage, play passive. At least he is easy to kill, he is not tanky.

VS

Cassiopeia

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium
Killing after-6: Hard

Cassiopeia is a pain in the back, she can harass you all game and can kill you after 6 easily if she ults you and you are unable to Ult yourself. Be really quick when Qing when because she is able to constantly harass you if you are in her range

VS

Diana

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium
Killing after-6: Hard

Pretty tricky matchup. Her tankiness disallows doing some true damage to her. She also has a pretty neat engage, try to stay back and ask help from your jungler

VS

Ezreal

Hard

Difficulty: HARD!

Farming: Medium to Hard
Killing pre-6: Easy to medium
Killing after-6: Hard

Big damage output, engage-disengage with E, he kills you before you kill him. But he is squishy as hell, probably squishier than you are

VS

Fiddlesticks

Hard

Difficulty: Medium to Hard

Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium to Hard
Killing after-6: Hard

Middlesticks... Engaging-Disengaging Fear, Drain, the best AoE Ult in my opinion, stay back and farm, don't Q him, he will get his HP back with his Drain

VS

Fizz

Hard

Difficulty: Hard

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium to Hard
Killing after-6: Pretty Hard

Fizz, bomb dodging, extremely big damage after-6, your Ult is your best ability against him

VS

Galio

Medium

Difficulty: Medium to Hard

Farming: Easy
Killing pre-6: Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

His passive converts 50% of his MR to AP. He will surely get MR against you, plus he has natural tankiness, so it's mostly in his favor. Try avoiding his Q and E

VS

Gragas

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

A pretty even matchup, dodge as many barrels you can, If he E's you after-6, you probably have to 4.png to save yourself, if you aren't already ahead

VS

Heimerdinger

Easy

Difficulty: Easy to Medium

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Easy
Killing after-6: Easy to Medium

If he makes the mistake to get the turrets close to each other, Q>W>Q them to quickly take them out. Can do damage to you, be cautious

VS

Karthus

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

He will always be Q-ing at you, care of it, your Ult can save you of his

VS

Kassadin

Hard

Difficulty: HARD

Farming: Medium to Hard
Killing pre-6: Medium to Hard
Killing after-6: EXTREMELY HARD!

Along with his ReWork, his R's range now is 450, rather than 700 that it was before, but don't let that fool you, he is still strong

VS

Katarina

Hard

Difficulty: Hard

Farming: Medium to Hard
Killing pre-6: Medium to Hard
Killing after-6: Hard

Big damage output, she is very good at engaging-disengaging, after-6 just stay back and have good reflexes as she can easily dive you with her Ult. Try to Q her without getting her Q in exchange

VS

Kha'Zix

Hard

Difficulty: Hard to Extremely Hard

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium to Hard
Killing after-6: Hard

Despite being very rare to see a Kha'Zix Mid-lane, he outplays you easily. Don't go anywhere near him. If you Q him while being away from your turret, he will E right at you and you are pretty much dead

VS

LeBlanc

Medium

Difficulty: Easy to Medium

Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium
Killing after-6: Hard

LeBlanc's kit is ridiculous, her damage output especially after-6 should be avoided, don't try to engage alone on her, don't try to chase her, you will just waste your Mana and time

VS

Lux

Easy

Difficulty: Easy to Medium

Farming: Easy
Killing pre-6: Easy
Killing after-6: Easy to Medium

She is way too squishy. Watch out only for the bind and the Ult after-6. Q her constantly, she won't be able to negate much of the damage.

VS

Morgana

Hard

Difficulty: Hard

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

She has a medium damage output but care. The duration of her Q is BIIIIIIG. And her Spellshield blocks literally everything. Ask your jungler to kill her

VS

Nidalee

Hard
Difficulty: Hard
Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Hard
Killing after-6: Same as pre-6 thanks to the newest patches

Earlier, Nida was easy pre-6 if you could dodge her javelins. Now, Nida has access to her cougar form pre-6 and it's pretty bad

VS

Ryze

Medium

Difficulty: Medium (possibly Hard)

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

This lane should be possibly in 13_64.png's favor, if he binds you you won't be able to do anything. Plus the fact that he can get really tanky with a3027_32.png and a 3174_32.png

VS

Talon

Hard

Difficulty: Hard

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium to Hard
Killing after-6: Hard

AD Mid laner against you, if he gets a hexdrinker, say bye to your lane. In case he E's you, you will have lost half of your HP in 2 sec

VS

Teemo

Medium

Difficulty: Medium to Hard

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium
Killing after-6: Hard

He is very annoying and he can deal some damage to you with his Q's pre-6. After-6, when he has his mushrooms it's kinda difficult. But, you know what? He is extremely squishy, your bombs will hurt him! A LOT

VS

Veigar

Easy

Difficulty: Fairly Easy

Farming: Easy
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

His ReWork finally made his Q a skillshot and now his E needs 0.85 sec to be able to stun, if you see it E immediately and possibly 4.png after-6 if you aren't full HP

VS

Vel'Koz

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

Skill dependant, he can be destructive but his skillshots CAN be dodged, especially with your E, try maxing it 2nd to be able to leave his range even faster

VS

Vladimir

Hard

Difficulty: Hard

Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Hard
Killing after-6: Very Hard

Q: Sustain | W: Bomb Dodging | Full Combo: High damage
If he goes the tanky way, no kills taken. You have to play passively, don't allow him to harass you

VS

Xerath

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Easy to Medium
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

Similar to Vel'Koz, he is destructive if played correctly, max E 2nd to avoid his skillshots, mainly his stun, if you get stunned, you will be in a pretty bad position.

VS

Yasuo

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Medium to Hard
Killing after-6: Hard to Very Hard

Yasuo is a risky lane, it can go either good or bad in the first mins. Land an AA on him so you can proc his shield and Q him right after so the full DMG of your Q will work. After 15 min and once he gets his Statikk Shiv, back off, you might have your Ult but yet, he is dangerous

PS: With the ReWork that 26_64.png got, his Q is not a PROJECTILE. His WindWall can hold off your Q's!!!!

VS

Zed

Hard

Difficulty: Awufully Hard

Farming: Hard
Killing pre-6: Hard
Killing after-6: Hard

His Q's and E's hurt a lot, he can also use his W to get double Q's and a higher range, 3157_32.png is highly needed

VS

Ziggs

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Medium
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: Medium

His skillshots can hurt you much, beware of this little yordle. But he is squishy, land some Q's on him

VS

Zilean

Medium

Difficulty: Medium

Farming: Easy
Killing pre-6: Easy to Medium
Killing after-6: DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!

Skill matchup incoming. Try to Q him without him Q-ing you

Welcome Back to Top

26_64.pngWelcome to my Zilean guide26_64.png

The point of this guide is to provide you with my knowledge of my favourite champ and make you understand him better. I'm gonna improve it in time, hoping to help as many summoners as possible and, my ultimate dream is getting this guide featured! :D

Solo-Q Tips Back to Top

ELOBOARD1244.png

For me, I like to think of ELO/skill level as a dartboard. The colors should be pretty self explanatory as the outer edges representing Bronze and the innermost representing Challenger. Obviously it's not exactly like throwing darts because a bronze player NORMALLY won't have a surge of brilliance and play like a challenger whereas a dart player can get lucky and randomly hit the center, but it's good to visualize this because it'll help you understand the point I am trying to make. This doesn't only focus on the wins you receive, it's more about how you play and can show the level of skill you display within different time-frames e.g. all throughout a match or in a span of 15 minutes.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

CHALLENGER1.png

This is what we all strive to become, Challenger/Master/High Diamond. The final frontier where the best of the best play. The pros and the streamers all dwell within these areas. You can notice that this board has all of the dots towards the center, not only that but they are fairly tightly knit together. This shows that the player is consistently playing at a high level, which also makes him/her accurate. Remember, accuracy is how close a measurement is to a true value (challenger/master) and consistency is how close a set of measurements are to one another. Now, for many of us this is far out of our reach but it's used as a healthy comparison to the next board.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

RANDOMWTF.png

Now this guy is all over the place. He's extremely inconsistent and has surges where his play is at a high gold level and other times he just feeds really hard and makes Bronze level decisions. This is the worst possible thing because it's harder to identify your problems if your skill level is going up and down like a roller coaster. Focus on improving a few areas, tightening your ability, and isolate your issues.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

CONSISTENT.png

This is better than the second because this player is constantly doing things that are Gold level. He is extremely consistent in his play and although he's still really far away from being the best, he repeats the same mistakes that keep him from Platinum but also repeats the same good decisions that push him away from Silver. This is much easier for you to locate which areas you need to improve in because your level of play is narrow so your errors become more apparent. By improving slowly on things that you are having trouble with ie. CSing better or Warding more often, then you'll be able to get to a higher consistent level of play. If you're throwing darts, then you just need to find out why you're striking to the upper right region. It could be the angle that your standing or the way your arm is positioned. With enough time and dedication this could very easily turn into the first board with all the hits being closer to the center.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

You can't change how your teammates play. Sometimes you'll just get a bunch of players that seemingly don't know how to do anything. You just need to worry about your own skill level, and improving yourself. You have 100% full control over every decision that you make and how it affects the game. There are an infinite number of scenarios and outcomes, but you just need to create the one where you win.

If you sharpen your consistency you'll have less "bad days" because while everyone else on your team is feeding, you aren't and you're still trying your best to win. Never give up, surrendering is for the weak. Yes there are appropriate times to give up, but USUALLY the enemy team is NEVER at that huge of an advantage where a surrender is warranted. Take note of that. Unless you are 2 inhibitors down with no nexus turrets and the score is 0-20 while the enemy has Baron, then you have no valid reason to give up like some quitter. Only the highest ELO players have an excuse because they actually know how to close out games properly. You lose 100% of the games that you surrender.

For the people that argue that you can get into a new game faster and have a better chance of winning since you are fitting in more games, then that's just really dumb logic. In terms of gaining LP? Yeah, it's smart to an extent due to probability. For the sake of getting better and strengthening your overall skill? It's retarded. You NEED to play those long drawn out games that you are behind in because they teach you the most. It trains your stamina/endurance so that you'll be able to go on longer without losing focus, it stretches your patience so that you'll be able to deal with your teammates in future games, it makes you learn how to play from behind because any idiot can win when they're massively ahead, but to win while in a gold deficit is an art. There's two sides of the coin: learning how to hold onto a game while losing teaches you how to keep a lead when you're winning, they're the same concept. You need to have the will to fight and the mental fortitude to make decisions to meet your goals.

You need to love the game. You won't get anywhere if you don't enjoy playing League of Legends. If you are getting better as a player but you're miserable and stressed out all the time, it's not worth it. Play for the sake of improving and out of your own enjoyment. A shiny border or Icon isn't an indicator of how good you are. Your own skill in-game is what demonstrates that, the borders and the decals are just things that come with it in time.

Don't flame, don't troll, don't rage, and don't dwell on the past. Stay calm and collected because you are mentally strong. The game isn't over until the Nexus is dead.

A REALLY BIG THANKS TO Ability Plant FOR ALLOWING ME TO USE THIS SECTION, I DO NOT OWN IT, THIS IS ALL HIS, CREDITS TO HIM, DO NOT CONGRATULATE OR CRITICISE ME ON THIS

Zil's Pros and Cons Back to Top

PROS:

- Low to mediocre skill cap (?)

- High mobility

- League's most teamfight changing champ

- Fun to play

- Master of Time!

- Boooooombs!

CONS:

- Too squishy against CC, or AD

- Mana reliant

- Somehow escapeless without Flash

- Difficult AA farming

- Mediocre range

Warding (Blue Side) Mid Lane Back to Top

Καταγραφή.PNG

1-2: Your most important warding spots to avoid roaming and ganking from your opponents, you can use your 3340_32.png on one side and your 2044_32.png on the other

3: This one is a nice replacement for No.6 because most of the junglers check the No.6 one and forget this. You can put a 2043_32.png here

4: If you want to have more control of their jungler and see him before he attemps a gank on your lane. A 2044_32.png is the best option here

5: In order to avoid getting counter-jungled by their jungler and to help yours, put a 2044_32.png here

6-7: The river-bushes, these 2 require a 2043_32.png to stop roaming and potential ganking, No.3 is a nice replacement for No.6 as said above to keep your 2043_32.png for more time, but it covers less area

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

In SoloQ, warding is everything! 1 more ward can stop roaming, counter-jungling, ganking and will allow you to do these with relative ease. Don't forget to buy wards throughout the game as your winning potential is certainly maximized by having them.

Early game 1-6 Back to Top

Early game can be be extremely good and can be extremely bad too. An early kill will help you a lot to get in front of your opponent in order to do more damage to him. But, if the opponent gets in front with an early kill the early game is gonna be bad for you. You must focus on farming and harassing your opponent with your Q ability and when the jungler ganks you must get a kill for your own good. Ask to have the second blue buff as you might as much need it. If your lane opponent out-ranges you, will tend to push the lane making it hard for you to farm, if that happens, you have to use your Q defensively, you might lose some of the minions, but it's better than nothing. If YOU are the one out-ranging the other, push the lane and force your opponent to waste his Mana in his abilities to farm making it easier for you to stay in lane. Be careful, pre-6 you are very vulnerable to ganks.

Mid game 7-12 Back to Top

Mid game... Your damage is starting to rise up and with 1 Mid lane turret down each team, you are starting to roam and get objectives like Dragon. Small teamfights will occur too. Your responsibility in Mid game is to get kills helping other lanes and saving your foes with your Ultimate. You do not need the blue buff that much in Mid game with your Morellonomicon or Athene's in hand. Generally, when I roam, I tend to simply run into the other lanes without knowing if they have vision, and sometimes I get caught, don't be like me, ask your teammates if they saw someone placing a ward and if not, proceed and gank them.

Late game 13-18 Back to Top

Late game is the best time a 26_64.png can shine. And especially, the teamfights. Your damage potential at 5 opponents when being full build in a teamfight is insane! What you have to do is to Stun as many opponents as possible in teamfights, at least 3. Also, you guessed it, YOU HAVE THE ULTIMATE!!! LOL'S MOST TEAMFIGHT CHANGING ULTIMATE!!! A free G.A. for a fed member of your team can win a teamfight and probably the game! Getting the Baron can be crucial in the game too. Encourage your team to go to Baron, and even if the opponents find out that you are there you can win a teamfight with you in it!

PS: Just want to clear out something to you. In the teamfights you might not be able to take many kills because the only damage you can do is with your Q and it takes 4 sec before it procs. In these 4 secs most members of your team especially if AD could easily take the kill themselves. Don't get angry if this happens! You are mostly a Support in the teamfights, either if you are going AP or Supp.

Chronoshift (R) Back to Top

26_64.png's Ultimate, Chronoshift, needs a whole section to fully understand it, so there it is

What is Chronoshift?

Chronoshift places a shield on an ally of yours, bringing them back to life if he dies withing the time limit the shield exists. In my opinion, Chronoshift is arguably the best Ultimate in the entire game, as it can change a whole Teamfight or just simply stop you and others from feeding

Knowing which ally to use your Ultimate to

There is not a specific ally that you must Ult, but mainly you want to Ult the ADC or the Mid laner if you are the support. If you must choose, Ult the one which lacks escapes. For example, if you are the Support, your Mid laner is 134_64.png and your ADC is 81_64.png, you should preferably Ult 134_64.pngbecause she has no escapes, on the other hand 81_64.png is more mobile, having his E to quickly get away of his enemies.

Which is the best moment to Ult someone?

This is kinda tricky, if you Ult too early, when your ally is at like 700+ HP, your enemies might see it and switch to another target, and the finish your ally off when the effect is over, and if you try to Ult late, your ally might as well die before you Ult him and you are gonna get flamed for the rest of the game. Myself, as a 26_64.png main, I can ult as late as it goes, when my ally is at 100-300 HP, but when it comes to new 26_64.png players, it might be difficult, so in my opinion, the best moment to Ult your ally is approximately, 200-500 HP

Team Synergies (Good synergies, bad synergies) Back to Top

When and why to pick Zilean?
You can pick Zilean pretty much all the time, especially if your team is squishy and can die easily, but it is not a good choice against AD opponents in the mid lane like 157_64.png238_64.png91_64.png

Good Top lane synergies
24_64.png86_64.png120_64.png
These are examples of the good top lane synergies. Why? Because they have the ability to jump right into the opponent's faces, you can speed them up and put a bomb on them

Good Jungle synergies
64_64.png54_64.png111_64.png
For the same reasons as said above, they have the ability to start teamfights easily, and even easier if you speed them up, also put a bomb on them while doing so to maximize the damage output

Good ADC synergies
104_64.png119_64.png236_64.png
These are Marksmen that if you save them with your Ult they will win the teamfight. Their damage output is HUGE and saving them will be crucial to the game

Good Support synergies
12_64.png53_64.png412_64.png
Supports with some kind of "hook", "grab", "knock-up" will help the team

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bad synergies
429_64.png98_64.png10_64.png23_64.png16_64.png
These champions can save themselves or others from certain deaths, and therefore making you waste your ult, avoid picking Zilean if these guys already exist in your team to avoid misunderstandings and bad plays

Zilean Back to Top

26_64.png is the master of Time! I like the concept, it's pretty nice. 26_64.png is one of the most rare champs and I want to play rare champs (aka 112_64.png 3_64.png aaand of course more) because I want to be unique. He is mainly a supp but I play him mostly mid due to his potential. Yeah, you saw right, 26_64.png has high potential to shine.  He isn't too difficult but not too easy either, he needs some time to master. I've been playing him for a while and I truly think I'm good enough. You just need some patience to learn him and there you go, you're the master of Time!

Zilean's ReWork Back to Top

THOUGHTS BEFORE THE PATCH WENT LIVE

Probably in patch 5.4, it is finally time for 26_64.png to get ReWorked. As far as I know, Q is now a SKILLSHOT, can be thrown in the ground and attaches to whoever stands on it first (!), double Q stuns the target (!), W DOES NOT lower the CD of Chronoshift (!) and E has a reduced duration (!). Chronoshift still does the same but with a slightly reduced CD due to the nerf on Zil's W (!)

To be honest, I did not like it, let's speak about every skill individually:

Q: It hurts a lot! But I can say that it is reasonable because otherwise you could do crazy amounts of DMG by selecting the target, now that it is a skillshot though you need a high skill cap to be effective. The double-bomb stun is actually fine, with Q being a skillshot I think that it is what should be done to even it.

W: ...I hate it. Yes, the change is good because you would have your ult every like, 20-30 sec by spamming W and that is VERY annoying for others, but as a 26_64.png main this brings tears to my eyes!

E: It had to be done, 55% slow for like 5 sec in the last rank was simply ridiculous, but as said, it hurts me like everything else does

R: Nothing serious, the CD reduction evened the heavy nerf on W

Summarizing, I didn't like the ReWork at all, but I guess that I cannot tell before seeing. I will wait until the next patch is released and I will effectively update the guide after testing the new 26_64.png.

THOUGHTS AFTER THE PATCH GOES LIVE

After testing out the new Zilean out live, I have to say that I was impressed. Let's talk about every skill individually after seeing them.

Q: It was/is difficult getting used to the new Q, it needs experience to be able to hit it. The Stun effect that is added is veeery good

W: Nothing to say, nothing really changed, will speak about the removed ability to lower the CD of your Ult in the Ult section

E: I liked the new E, the % of the slow , ESPECIALLY in the later ranks is ridiculous, 99% slow in the last rank

R: I was depressed about the thing that you couldn't lower the CD of the Ult anymore with your W, but the CDR that the skill itself got was good

All in all, the new Zilean is worth a look by everybody, personally even though I didn't like it at first, I found out that is is cool!

Q&A Back to Top

Q: Why Zilean?

A: My brother started playing LoL before me. I was enjoying seeing him playing. One night, after he won a game, we started browsing the Champion Pool. While browsing, I saw an old man named Zilean, I told him to open him so we can see him. I fell in love with his abilities, his skins, and so, I made a LoL account several weeks later, and Zilean was the first champion that I ever bought.

Q: Why do you enjoy playing Zilean?

A: Zilean, despite being underrated, is very fun to play. You have the ability to bomb people, literally, run like the wind, and revive your teammates from death. His kit is one of the best in the game for me

Q: Do you have a Zilean skin? And if yes, which is it?

A: Yes! I have the Groovy Zilean skin and i love it. The colors, the fact that Zilean doesn't have gray hair, and the little small clocks that he throws in his Auto-Attack Animation are finally visible!

Q: Which champions do you play, except from Zilean?

A:Top Lane: Nasus
Jungle: Rek'Sai, Nocturne
Middle: Yasuo, Annie, Nidalee
ADC: Sivir, Jinx, Urgot
Support: Nautilus, Janna, Shen

Q: Could you rank the roles by your ability or preference?

A: They should be:

Support > Mid > ADC > Top > Jungle
