Summoner Spells

4.png: Best summoner spell in the game. Helps you escape ganks or initiate fights. Just solid all around.
14.png: Damage over time that reduces healing. Greatly increases your killing power in lane and counters champions with healing abilities like 8_64.png or 36_64.png. I advice ignite if you're going assassin/AD. 
6.png: It's a mather of preference. It has a shorter cooldown than Flash and is better in long chases.
12.png: Increases your map pressure by alot and makes it easier to splitpush without losing teamfighting. Great for counterganking other lanes. Also let's you come back to lane early if you're getting poked down or to TP back up afther a roam with ultimate for getting the farm. I advice TP if you're going tank or AP. 
3.png: Can work in certain situation against autoattack reliant champions like 24_64.png or 5_64.png, but i'd stick with building a randuins or early warden's mail. 
7.png/21.png: Good at baithing dives and to survive harder lanes. If you're new to rengar against a hard lane like Darius, you can take heal or barrier to avoid getting dunked and survive laning. 
10.png: If you want someone to dodge.
11.png: If you're jungling. 
1.png: Outclassed by 3140_32.png in most cases.
13.png: NO!
2.png: Your ultimate is already a mini-cv, waste of a summoner.

Runes

Marks: Flat AD greatly increases your early game damage and still scales well into the late game while hybrid pen is when you want to build tanky and max W or go AP.


Seals: Since rune changes, I run armor per level, because at lvl 6, the armor value is the same as flat and it greatly outscales. You can also run flat health and rely on W resists.

Glyphs: If you need magic resistances, go MR per level since at lvl 6 it will be the same value as flat and 3 flat mr for early resist. If you don't need it, get 6 flat CDR for 5% cdr lvl 1 and 3 mr per level for little resists.  
Quints: Go 2 armor/1 hp regen vs hard AD lanes (Renekton/Darius), AP if you want to go AP and AD for easier lanes.

Standard 21 9. You get more CDR to spam abilities in lane, Ad to scale the damage on your  Q and E, some lane sustain, Damage on abilities/autos and Hybrid penetration to prevent armor/mr from shutting you down. 
9 defense lets you have a tanky early game with flat hp and reduced damage from auto attacks and decent scaling with the bonus armor//MR you'll get from W/items.


If you're planning on going tank, go 13/17 for extra tankiness and healing. Change to MR vs AP.

Passive: When in a bush, you can leap to nearby ennemies. Great in lane to zone or farm. It has a really short cooldown and allows you to stick on targets. Using abilties generates ferocity. At 5, you can empower 1 abilty. 


Q: Auto attack reset that does bonus damage. Max it 1st for better trading and to charge up ferocity easier when going AD.  Use this to destroy turret and to trade with opponents in lane. In teamfights, use it to burst down a carry.
Empowered: Bonus damage, attack speed and AD. Use empowered Q for all ins/longer trades. 

W: Aoe magic damage shout that increases your resistance of a few seconds. Max First when going tank.
Empowered: Same effect + healing.

Use this to push, sustain and poke opponents.

E: Throws a bola to slow the target and do some damage. Max it 2nd if you're going AD or Tank. 
Empowered: Damage + Snare.

Use this to poke, farm and set up ganks. 

R: Afther a short moment, turn stealth and gain bonus mouvement speed. Taking damage delays the stealth. Generates ferocity. Use this to gank,  engage or escape.

Situational

Starting items:


1055_32.png2003_32.png: Greatly increases your early damage and let's you bully lanes and have strong all ins without losing sustain from lifesteal/potion. Good vs weaker early games/ad focused build.
1054_32.png2003_32.png: Make you insanely tanky early on and increases your lane sustain to deal with stronger early game champions and when you want to build tanky.

Early core items:
3067_32.png or3134_32.png: Early on, you want to build a CDR item to use your abilities more and gank more often with your ultimate. If you are doing well, brutaliser will increase your damage and ignore a little bit of armor to build into 3142_32.png or 3071_32.png. The kiddlegem is better if you are even or behind to give the CDR you need without losing survivability. It can build into 3065_32.png for insane sustain and shutdown magic damage.
1057_32.png or 1031_32.png or 1011_32.png: Depending on match up, you might want one of these. Against heavy magic damage, get a negatron to build into 3065_32.png. Against heavy physical damage, a chain vest will shut it down and can build into randuins.
If you are dealing with hybrid damage, health will be your best bet and it builds into alot of good items like 3083_32.png or 3143_32.png.


Mid game core items: 

Once you have some cooldown reduction and some tankiness, build according to your needs.

If you want more tankiness, get:
3143_32.png: Shutdown auto attack reliant champions with AS slow, armor and alot of hp. The active is great in teamfight. 
3083_32.png: Become a unkillable lion that regens most of the damage done to you. 
3075_32.png: If the ennemie ADC is shutting you down and is fed, make him kill himself. 
3065_32.png: Shutdown APs and increase the healing on W while getting alot of CDR. 

If you want more damage, get: 


3153_32.png: Great item all around. Sustain, damage, utility and attack speed. Great at countering high HP champions and stick on a target. Good when you are building tanky since it does alot of damage over the duration of a long fight.
3072_32.png: Alternate option to BOTRK. It is wayyy more bursty, but less dps. It is better when building alot of damage to quickly kill a  high priority target fast rather than doing high constant dps with BOTRK. 

3142_32.png: Some armor pen, crit and damage. The active is like a mini ghost that gives attack speed. Great at killing squishies and turrets. Let's you stick easily on targets to pull off triple Q as well. Great for assassinating. 
3035_32.png: When armor is shutting you down, get this to ignore 35% of their armor and to be able to actually do damage. 
3074_32.png: Great item to splitpush with. The active is like a physical damage version of your W and adds some burst.

When you want a bit of both, get: 
3022_32.png: Allows you to stick on a target or protect someone by slowing opponents while giving alot of HP and some damage. 
3071_32.png: Tanky version of ghostblade but with bonus armor pen, but less damage overall. 
3078_32.png: If you don't like mallet and have more money to spare, this greatly increases your burst and mobility. Also great for killing turrets. 
3156_32.png3139_32.png: When magic damage is a killing you and you don't want to lose damage, get Maw. If CC is the danger, get QSS into Mercurial. 

 3146_32.png: I know this sounds weird, but if you plan on going tank, I think its the best offensive item you can get. The added AP let's you instaclear wave with W easier and do more damage in trades while the AD still helps your auto and q/e. It also provides good sustain and gives you a 2nd slow to stick on ennemies. On top, you Q and E resets it really fast, so it comes back up almost 2-3 times in a longer teamfight/trade. 
3050_32.png: Underrated item: Gives the most CDR for a item where you utilize all the stats.Great build components, and great item all around. A bit of damage, sustain, tankiness and CDR. With that + brutaliser and cdr masteries/runes, you get 40 CDR for really cheap. Great in teamfights too. 
Boots: 
3047_32.png: Best boots vs high AD teams and auto attack reliant laners like jax, tryndamere and darius. Buy afther sunfire for tankiness and mobility if you're going tanky.
3158_32.png : Best boots for snowballing as you get a lot of CDR to use more ultimates to do more picks/roams. Great in lane too if you don't need the armor or CC reduction for more sustain and dueling with lower cooldowns. 
3020_32.png: I prefer CDR over these, but if you're going AP or tank (Wmax + sunfire), mid game, getting some magic penetration can increase your burst and dueling. 
3111_32.png: Against high CC teams like Leona, Amumu or laners with magic damage and CC like ryze or lissandra, getting those let's you not get screwed over by their CC and take some damage. 
3006_32.png: Best boots for splitpushing, since it will let you take down turrets easier and duel people with ease. Good if you don't need CDR nor armor.
3117_32.png: Best boots for roaming and ganking a lot with insane mobility accross the map.

Don`t you think that BOTRK would be far better than Yomumu as a main? It is much pricier and you have to cope with another active, but you get quite larger burst and AS, which Rengar now lacks.

Botrk is only really effective vs higher HP target IMO. You can get the Tiamat before the ghostblade if you want, but with triple Q I normally deal enough damage to kill a squishy target mid game.

really loved your guide, my first 4 games (and counting) I've gotten first blood in all of my games using this guide, I'm not good enough to carry my team yet, I think I just need to roam after I get kills (6 in a row one game!)
