Summoner Spells Back to Top

Ignite/Flash shouldn't need too much explanation; you're a squishy burst mage after all.

Clarity is something I was experimenting with for a while, with mixed success. The idea is that you can Q farm while keeping your mana low, allowing your passive to be at maximum effectiveness (since it scales off missing mana), but if you really need mana for a combo (eg if a jungler comes), clarity gives you that flexibility.

Standard AP mid runes with MS quints. Take armour against an AD opponent, and mana regen otherwise.

The second point in E allows for easier follow up to your stun. If your opponent has tenacity, you may need extra points in E.

Situational Items

1001_32.png + 2003_32.png x3 will be a solid opening for 90% of games. If you're against a particularly tough AD lane, you can consider 1029_32.png + 2003_32.png x5 into early Seeker's Armguard.

Ideally, you'll want to back around level 5-6 to refresh your mana pool and grab 2x 1056_32.png, as well as a ward or two. This will give you enough mana regen to Q farm while blue buff is down, as well as a bit of health.

Finish your 3020_32.png when you can, and upgrade to 3259_32.png early. These, in conjunction with MS quints give you 417 MS - a lot faster than anyone else will be going without movement speed buffs. This actually makes you very slippery, despite being squishy. If you're in a very tough lane, consider an early 1057_32.png, but if you can go without then just start building towards 3128_32.png. It doesn't really matter which component you buy first - just buy whatever you have the gold to get at the time.

At this point, you should be able to pop any squishy, and depending on how well you're doing, maybe even the tanks as well. If you're a bit behind, and people are just surviving your burst, pick up either 3089_32.png or 3135_32.png, depending on how much MR the enemy team is building. If you're quite ahead and have plenty of damage already, pick up 3102_32.png for the extra slipperyness. You'll want all 3 of these in just about every game, assuming they last long enough for you to buy them.

For your last item, you can choose just about anything, and once the game gets this far in, it should be clear what you're lacking. Most of the time you'll want CDR, so 3174_32.png or 3165_32.png can provide this - pick whichever you think suits best. If you need to be even faster, pick up 3100_32.png for additional damage, or 3023_32.png for a long range slow. 3157_32.png can be good, but often you'll simply be focussed as soon as the stasis ends; 3026_32.png has a similar problem.

VS

Ahri

Medium

Skill based matchup. Care for her charm; you'll probably want 3102_32.png immediately after 3128_32.png.  Be very careful with your stun placements; if you miss, she can catch and kill you with her ultimate.

VS

Annie

Easy

Your stun has a longer range than all of her abilities. Just be careful for her flash, especially after level 6, and you should be fine.

VS

Karthus

Easy

A better matchup for 30_64.png than most people think. If you miss a stun, he does have the damage to kill you. However, if you do everything right, you should be fine. You can instakill him at any stage of the game

VS

Kassadin

Hard

You can't really punish his weak early game, and once he hits 6 he's extremely difficult to deal with. His mobility makes it hard to land a stun, and his passive makes him annoyingly difficult to burst.

VS

Katarina

Medium

Her mobility makes it difficult to land a stun, so try to wait until Shunpo is on cooldown.

VS

LeBlanc

Medium

The lane will snowball one way or another. Pick up an early 1057_32.png.

VS

Lux

Easy

Her range is longer than yours, so movement speed is the key. Make sure you dodge her skillshots, especially as you go in for a stun.

VS

Mordekaiser

Hard

He'll be hard to burst with his shield up, and he can push you out of lane. You'll need to farm under tower.

VS

Morgana

Medium

Black shield, and high natural tankiness make her extremely difficult to burst. Just farm and avoid her dark bindings.

VS

Ryze

Hard

Tanky, and can punish you hard early game. Do your best to farm under tower.

VS

Twisted Fate

Medium

His constant push and omnipresence is difficult to deal with, but if he's in lane you'll be able to kill him.

VS

Veigar

Medium

This is easily the most fun and intense mirror matchup in the game. It's kill or be killed!

VS

Xerath

Easy

As with other longrange casters, movement speed is the key to getting in range for a combo.
