Summoner Spells

The summoner spell I have been using with Ahri is 14.png Ignite/ 4.png Flash.


4.pngFlash: is handy when your Spirit Rush is on cooldown or the other way around. It is also good to secure a kill by flash and land a auto attack or put Ignite on.

14.pngIgnite: I use to get 5 extra AP from Summoner's Wrath, to secure kills after a team fight or on a Yi using his heal ;)

Other spells

12.pngTeleport: is really good for Roaming and teleport back to mid.

6.pngGhost: is also a good spell for roaming and catching up to your enemies.

Runes

Pretty standard Mid Runes. Ability power quits are really great and will give you a lot of AP in level 1. The Magic penetration runes are a great way to generate more Damage.


The mana regen runes are good to poke out your enemies, BUT they gets quite bad after gaining some levels or get blue buff. These can be replaced to your own choice.

OFFENSIVE TREE

Summoner's Wrath: I take a point in this, since I use 14.pngIgnite. This point will give me 5 AP when 14.pngIgnite is on cooldown. This is the best way to spend your first point.

Sorcery: The next four points I spend is on Sorcery which will give me 4% Cool Down Reduction. This is awesome and really good for Ahri.

Blast: I take this to unlock Arcane Knowledge and I will also get a little more AP.

Arcane Knowledge: This is one of the best points IMO, this point will give you +8% Magic Penetration. Which equals more damage.

Havoc: Increases damage dealt by 2%. 

Mental Force: This will give you +6 AP and will generate more damage.

Archmage: Increases your ability power by 5%! Really good for more damage!

Executioner: Increases damage dealt by 5% to targets below 50% health. Really good for roaming to lanes with low health and Execute your enemy really hard ;).

UTILITY TREE

Summoner's Insight: I pick this to buff my  4.png Flash.

Wanderer: I pick this because I use MP5 runes and it works fine for me, this is also really good for roaming around ;)

Improved Recall: This one have saved me many times when I have been roaming around and have to recall back to base fast, really good for roaming, less good in lane.

Artificer: I just started to play with this due to 3128_32.png Deathfire Grasp Activation.

Runic Affinity: This is a really good spell if your manage to get Blue buff. It will give you more duration time on the buff, which is really great.

Note: This is just my thought of the talent tree and the Utility tree is more for personal preferences (when it comes to mid lane). Please try other specs if you like ;)

Situational

Starting ITEMS

The only think you can die from before lvl 6 is gankers. Don't forget to buy wards!

This is the normal starting items for Mages, and it works good for Ahri to.

The bottle is a good regenerate item for farming and poking out your enemy in early game. You only need to buy 1 ring if you don't get denied or killed by jungler.

The Hextech Revolver is one of the best early game sustain items for Mages. Get this before your ring if you survive the jungler, other way buy this after the 2 rings. The hat is the second item you should buy, after you bought all of this you should have around 350 AP which will be really great for Roaming and the upcoming team fights.

Well this is normally the boots you will buy, it gives you a lot of magic penetration and this is good for Ahri. Situational you may have to buy more tanky boots but this is NOT recommended since Ahri is suppose to burst not tank.

This is a must for Ahri, since she has so low base health this will make you survive more and you will also gain a lot of AP and a slow. This slow will let you get to your enemy and slow them down every time you hit them. Really good combo with Spirit Rush.

The tome is a upgrade of The Hextech Revolver and will give you even more sustain and Ability Power.

At this point you have come to the Situational items. And there will be 2 ways you can go from here, the more survival way, or the more BURSTY way!

This is the Bursty build and it will be good if the other team is getting CC by amumu, nunu or galio. This will burst all of the enemy team to the ground if they are all together.

Deathfire Grasp is in season 3 a GREAT item. This is a Activate item which will give you a extra burst, please key-bind your first item slot so you can use it easily on the enemy carry.

Void staff will give you some AP and a great boost of Magic Penetration, this is good for bursty Ahri, you may have friends that will tell you to buy Abyssal Scepter. But the Scepter is only good if the enemy team got under 100 MP and a really bursty AP.

This is the more tanky build, it will give you almost the same AP as the previous but you will lose the magic penetration. Instead you will get more survival ability.

Abyssal Scepter can actually be better than Void Staff. Only swap out Void Staff for Abyssal Scepter when the enemy team has less than 100 magic resist and an AP carry that is doing better than you, if they don't have magic resistance or an amazing awesome AP carry Abyssal Scepter would be more ideal.

Zhonya's Hourglass is a great item. If the enemy team does not have an AD champion that is being a pain in your arse you can get Athene's Unholy Grail instead. Example of the on use ability: Amumu's ult, Nunu's ult, Fiddlesticks's ult, and during a situation that you would want to be un-targetable, save your self a couple seconds then flash out or unload your vengeance ;)

Athene's Unholy Grail, is what I use when I solo que, when I'm not getting blue buff like I should. If you are able to control blue buff, you can swap this item for something else, I suggest Zhonya's Hourglass or something defensive, depending on the majority of your enemy team and if their AD or AP carry is kicking your toosh. If you decide to go this route, I would suggest getting the Chalice of Harmony first, so you can benefit from the AP resist.
