Summoner Spells Back to Top

Hi, I'm a Jungle main in League of Legends since Season 3 as well as leader of a team that plays Mario Kart Wii competitively to this day via the Wiimm-fi server

Welcome to this guide.

My Ranked stats with Cho'Gath (as of 3/26/2016)

Runes Back to Top

  • 9x
+1.7% attack speed Greater Mark of Attack Speed
  • 9x
+0.16 magic resist per level Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
  • 9x
+1.33 health per level Greater Seal of Scaling Health
  • 2x
+4.5% attack speed Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed
  • 1x
+1.5% movement speed Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed
If you know you can get by your early game, scaling runes will pay off a lot in comparison to flat and can be the difference in many games. Otherwise you can run flat runes to increase survivability early game.

also you can incorporate CDR runes depending on what you're planning on building to maybe try to reach 40%

Masteries Back to Top

^^^ My preferred standard, safe masteries that can work for any build

You can max Q before W but this lowers the guarantee of your damage output

You can also raise the priority of maxing E/Q if you're looking to focus a little more on farming

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    standard start

Core Items

pick one and upgrade it to either runic or cinderhulk based on the rest of your build
    choose based on team comps
rush this and place it in a lane asap, it will give you health, mana and gold with every minion kill
buy if there's another mage on your team and enough magic damage from the enemy team
buy with red smite, helps you stick to enemies and slow everyone in fights
buy if enemy team has a lot of hp, preferably combined with rylai's
    snowballing and wanting to carry
    Example blue smite/mage build
    Example red smite build
    Example Tank Build

Situational Items

    all good
    level 9
usually only after full build (iron if you need tenacity or want to be super big)
you can buy this almost any game, sell it if you don't get enough stacks and upgrade it if you do
You can sell boots for this lategame
good way to protect your stacks
3512.png is a great way to get fed while maintaining pressure around the map, paired with the fact that it actives your passive chogathpassive.png you'll not only be getting gold every time your voidlings kill a minion, but also HP and Mana

Auto + E Build - 1414.png with vorpalspikes.png alone makes your auto attacks devastating, paired with the other items suggested above gives you a really good sustained DPS build and makes you one of the best duelists in the game without having to rely on landing all of your spells. Not only this but if you can land autos on their frontline in team fights (especially with feast.png stacks) you'll be doing a lot of damage to a lot of people.

If you think you'll get kited easily or you just want to build like a mage, blue would be the way to go.
If you're going tank you should probably go red or green.

Cons

- Immobile without 4.png
- Mana hungry if you plan to use rupture.png / feralscream.png often
