Summoner Spells

Summoner Skills:

  • 12.png Teleport: Teleport is amazing on Malphite because a quick teleport to bottom or middle lane can easily turn the tides of the game and give you a solid lead/advantage.
  • 4.png Flash: Nothing to say other then the obvious. Can help you escape/engage into so many different situations and can change the outcome of the game easily.

Runes

Versus Bruisers take:

Greater Quintessence of  Swiftness
  • Gives you increased movement speed to get in/out of situations faster, and to allow yourself to get to and from lane faster.
Greater Mark of Alacrity
  • Once you use your E to slow the enemy and close the game allows you to get more damage off over time keeping the harass up.
Greater Seal of Armor
  • Pretty standard, more armor to negate some of the damage and give you the extra sustain and life span in lane giving you a better chance in trades.
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
  • Again same as the armor, pretty standard and allows you to sustain more damage and get a potential advantage in trades versus magic based attacks.

Versus Everything Else:

Replace the Greater Mark of Alacrity with Greater Marks of Incite
  • Makes your magic based attacks a lot stronger with the lack of resistance.
Replace the Greater Quintessence of Swiftness with Greater Quintessence of Insight.
  • Much like the Marks of insight just allows your magic based attacks to become stronger due to shredding the opponents magic resist.

Versus Bruisers your skills should take this priority:
  • R - Unstoppable Force - Great for Initating and also being used in a defensive way for protecting your team.
  • E - Ground Slam - Allows you to push hard / shove the lane back along with doing a strong amount of damage versus the enemies.
  • Q - Seismic Shard - Use to harass the enemy champion. When going for a trade early game initiate with this and then close the game to auto attack / Ground slam.
  • W - Brutal Strikes - Take one level early game however leave this till last to max. Gives you the AoE damage on Auto attacks and increases your over all damage. Also helps with split pushing late game.
Your goal against bruisers is to harass them out of lane by shoving/harassing with E and auto attacking them for more than they can attack you back for.

Versus anything else:
  • R - As said previously: Great for Initating and also great for being used in a defensive way for protecting your team.
  • Q - Seismic Shard - Use to harass the enemy champion. When going for a trade early game initiate with this and then close the game to auto attack / Ground slam.
  • E - Ground Slam - Allows you to push hard / shove the lane back along with doing a strong amount of damage versus the enemies.
  • W - Brutal Strikes - Take one level early game however leave this till last to max. Gives you the AoE damage on Auto attacks and increases your over all damage. Also helps with split pushing late game.

Items

Start With
Core
Situational

General Start:

  • Boots, 3 Pots. Boots for movement increase for dodgy skills and pots for sustain.
  • Dorans isn't as viable as gives you a lot less sustain then this.
Core vs Bruisers:
  • Ninja Tabi - Great for the armor and helps with sustain during the lane.
  • Frozen Heart - Really good for armor, that extra bit of mana for laning and cooldown reduction is brilliant.
  • Randuins Omen - Really good for the armor/regen. Also great for getting in there and shutting the enemy AD Carry down.
Core vs Everything else:
  • Sorcerers shoes - Most of your abilities are Magic Based which having the magic pen from the boots gives a nice bit of extra damage.
  • Haunting Guise - Good for that early bit of health and the magic pen once again is great with the scaling from your abilities.
  • Abyssal Scepter - Grants good ability power scaling with your skills and nice magic resist which is always good versus the enemy's AP mid. Also with Malphite being a close ranged character the passive from Abyssal plays nicely on this character.
Situational Items:
  • Warmogs - Good amount of health and life regen. When you're being poked can help relieve a bit of the damage and give you a bit more tankyness.
  • Runik Bulwark - Gives a good amount of Health/Magic Resist/Armor which allows you to be quite tanky and have a stronger presence in the middle of a team fight.
  • Ohmwrecker - Allows you to be a lot more aggressive especially with tower dives which can be great for the mid to late game. With Armor/Health/Mana the item has a nice variety of stats which can be really great on Malphite.

NO,no,no,no... I'm sorry but I cant understand why a 2177 elo player playes a really Tanky Top without having any Tenacity... The game lets u have 50% Tenacity... and you have 0% with your guide... I dont mean that Ninja tabi is a bad choice but I think that you should have Tenacious (mastery) at least...

@Nofx He plays both on al Zekent and Kromaticize so it would make more sense if you counted the 100% Malphite winrate on the second account. But what would _really make sense is only take win rate into account at some point when he made a big number of games with that champion, and not at the beginning of a new season.

Win rates aren't entirely that important. The fact that he plays against opponents who are 2000 ELO+ means that anything he says is more valuable than the vast majority of lesser ELO players.

actually what you say is wrong... partly... you know High elo players are asked to promote new masteries/spells/items etc... So dont think that what they say is what they do in their games...

His strategy doesn't seem to work ~80% of the time. Diamond players too tough? lol
(Thanks for the guide!)

It's a good guide, I had the same story with my guide. It was almost perfect but people didn"t like it cause they think they know better... elohell players.
