Summoner Spells Back to Top

14.png More kill pressure and better 1v1. I almost always go ignite.
12.png Bigger map pressure and can be good if it is a very passive lane. However since the nerfs in patch 6.13 it takes a whole second later to channel so remember that.

3.png Can be good if you are up against assassins and it makes it easier to land skillshots.
21.png/7.png If you want to play very passively and be safe, however Ahri is already very safe so I don't recomment it.

Masteries Back to Top

Always get Thunderlord's.

Masteries you can switch:
Intelligence --> Precision
Oppressor --> Bounty Hunter
Natural Talent --> Vampirism
Feast -->Double Edged Sword
Assassin --> Secret Stash

Go for Assassin, Natural Talent and Double Edged Sword if you want to play aggressively.
Go Secret Stash, Vampirism and Feast if you want to play passively.

Oppressor is always good on Ahri because if you land Charm you will deal increased damage, it boosts her laning phase and is an overall safer mastery. Bounty Hunter is also solid if you know you will get many kills on different opponents. Bounty Hunter is viable but it can be risky, you need to kill 3 different opponents for it to be superior to Oppressor which shouldn't be too hard.

Intelligence and Precision is another prefence, I am a fan of cooldown reduction nonetheless if you want extra dmg go for it.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    I always start with this.
If you rush Morellos start with this.
    Vs heavy AP.
    Vs heavy AD

Core Items

    Always have these items.
    Vs heavy AD.
    Vs heavy AP.
If you feel safe and they have mixed dmg.
If they build some Magic Resist.
Replace Void Staff if they have almost no Magic Resist.
    Self-explanatory.
    Core vs low damage team.
    Core vs heavy mixed damage.
    Core vs heavy AP.
    Core vs heavy AD.

Situational Items

Not too bad but there are almost always better options.
    Vs Heavy AP and/or CC.

When facing a heavy AP midlaner like LeBlanc or Viktor the best options are to either rush Abyssal Scepter or build Negatron Cloak, rush Morellonomicon and then finish Abyssal. Rushing Abyssal gives you better dueling power while building Negatron Cloak and then Morellos give you better poke and more mana.

If you don't really feel threatened by anyone on their team rush Morellos and then Rylai's.

Vs AD champions always rush Seeker's Armguard, from their you can finish Zhonya's or build Morellos before you finish Zhonya's.

If they have a full damage team with mixed damage you can build Abyssal and Zhonya's, however don't go for CDR runes since you will get capped.

If they are tanky with much Magic Resist you should build Void Staff before Rabadon's for the Magic Penetration.

As you can see all the core builds I have listed are incomplete, that is because the last item is preference and situational. Personally I like to add a Lich Bane or a Luden's Echo.

VS

Anivia

Medium

She has some sick burst so be careful of getting stunned, especially pre-6.

Anivia is not very aggressive so you can rush Morellos. However if they have many AP champions buy Early Abyssal.

If you dodge her stun and don't stand in her ult like a noob you should be able to 1v1 her, beware of her egg though.

VS

Annie

Medium

Has better pre-6 than you due to her short cooldown Q and stun. Be careful of her Burst at lvl 6, thought if you manage to dodge her ult you should be able to kill her. Play safe

Rush Negatron cloak then Morello and finish Abyssal.

VS

Aurelion Sol

Easy

Can be annoying early as he can push insanely easy. However you can easily dodge his stun post-6 and should not have any problems. Beware of his roaming though.

VS

Azir

Medium
Azir is super annoying to lane against. He has longer ranger, stronger early game and pushes towers faster due to his attack speed.
Only harass when you are absolutely certain that you will get some damage off because otherwise he will just poke you down with his soldiers from afar.
He doesn't have a great lvl-6 which you can abuse but never try to dash through his ult. It won't work no matter how many times you try.

VS

Brand

Medium

Avoid fighting when his ult can bounce alot. Otherwise you should be able to dodge his abilities if you don't get hit by his stun.

VS

Cassiopeia

Medium

Counters you pretty well with her new "Grounded" ability and ult so be careful. If she poisons you she can spam E and kill you very quickly however she has low mobility and you have charm so she is vurnerable to ganks.

VS

Fizz

Hard

Can dodge even harder than you and probably oneshot post-6. Try to bait out his E if you want to fight. With fast reactions you should be able to dodge his ult unless he is in your face and if he is you are dead unless you are stronger already. Rust Negatron Cloak and then Morellos.

Try to poke him with autos early but beware of his lethality even before lvl 6.

VS

Karma

Medium

She has high dmg, a root, shield and movement speed enhancer so she is difficult to deal with and can be deadly early because she can wait for gank and root you pre-6. If you manage to dodge her Q however you should be able to 1v1, her MS can cause her dodge your abilities so be careful.

VS

Karthus

Easy

Can be annoying early with his Q poke but he is short ranged and shouldn't be a huge problem, and you can interupt his ult with your E.

VS

Kassadin

Hard

Kassadin is meant to be an AP-counter and is always a threat due to his low CD ult. He can also spam his Q a lot early with gives him a AP shield so try to auto him alot early. Rush Negatron Cloak.

VS

Katarina

Medium

She can spam Q on you but she is melee so you can poke her a lot. Remember that her E places her behind you. You can interrupt her ult with charm.

VS

LeBlanc

Hard

Skill matchup. She can kill you super fast but she is short-ranged so you can poke her with Q. Remember that her E has super long range once it has connected with you. Rust Negatron Cloak.

VS

Lux

Medium

She has some good burst and can easily harass you with E but she is skillshot reliant so you can dodge most of her abilites with your ult. She has longer range than you and don't underestimate her dmg.

VS

Morgana

Medium

She pushes really well and her Q lasts for three seconds but you can often ult out off her ult but her E makes her really hard to kill since your charm wont let you get some easy dmg onto her. I recommend to play passively.

VS

Orianna

Medium

She is not very strong early but has shield, speed ups and strong auto attacks so don't underestimate her. You are generally stronger at lvl and should have stronger 1v1.

VS

Ryze

Medium

You outrange him and he does not do dmg early so try to shut him down with jungler help early since he has no escape. He can root you and disable you from dodging his Q with your ult and gets a lot of burst later.

VS

Syndra

Medium

Has huge burst and low cooldown abilities so she can harass you very well. However she has no mobility so she is vurnerable to ganks and easy to kill if you avoid her stun with the help of ganks. Rush Negatron Cloak.

VS

Twisted Fate

Easy

You are pretty much always stronger 1v1 but he can easily set up ganks with his gold card and has great map control so communicate with your team and try to roam or push when he is away from lane.

VS

Viktor

Hard

Long ranged poke, shield and stun. He will make life difficult for you might be able to kill him if you dodge his E. Although try to roam and help your team instead of sitting in lane.

VS

Xerath

Medium

Has some good poke and cc but no mobility and only skillshots so if you don't eat his abilities you should be pretty good to go.

VS

Yasuo

Hard

High mobility, windwall and constantly good damage output. He is strong both pre-6 and post-6 so be very careful. Rush Seekers Armguard.

VS

Zed

Hard

You should be very careful against Zed but you can charm him after he ults and lands behind you. Poke him pre-6 and try to avoid his Q. Rush Zhonyas.

VS

Ziggs

Easy

Has some annoying poke but you are stronger 1v1, especially post-6.

Mid Game Back to Top

You can do very much with your ult up so try to get kills and roam around the map. When it is on cooldown however you should be careful and dont engage in large fights unnecessarily.

Ward important objectives like Baron and Dragon if they are unwarded.

Teamfights Back to Top

In teamfights you should be versatile and adapt to the situation. If your ADC is getting attacked nearby try to clear the threat, if you seen an easy kill on one of their carries try to execute that. Always try to do as much damage as possible even if it isn't to the most important target. Since you are squishy do not ult straight into the enemy team, always wait for your frontline to soak up some dmg if you want to go deep.

To take blue or not to take blue... Back to Top

As a midlane mage with pretty high mana costs blue is very effective on Ahri. However since you always build Morellos you dont generelly have large mana problems unless you have to spam abilities, therefore if your jungler too can be useful with blue you should not argue with him if he wants it as it gives him xp and a greater effectiveness around the map. However you are often more likely to use it better late game so I would recomment to take it later into the game.

Starting an arguement over blue when the jungler in most cases can use it even better than you is only unnesessary and can cost games. Even if you are Faker and your jungler is trash starting a flamewar is always bad, and flaming often affetcts the whole team aswell. It's smal things like these that make the League of Legends community so toxic. So be nice and you will win more games, I promise :D
