Summoner Spells Back to Top

Just...don't take anything else.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

This is standard carry for jungle Akali, if you're not going tank. I may list jungle Akali masteries at some point, but not right now. The CoC mastery was just nerfed and I have not tested it out. It may be better to use Grasp of the Undying at this point.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HOWEVER, TWO THINGS CAN BE INTERCHANGED
Fresh Blood  vs Expose Weakness
Fresh Blood is for high early kill potential to allow you to snowball. Take it if you are confident in early  ganks(Level 3 or 2 if you know what you're doing). I personally recommend Fresh Blood and level 3 ganks. Expose Weakness is if you feel better playing it safe. Jump in and E to proc it on several targets then let your team clean up. This works better on tank Akali. Fresh Blood for carry.
Runic Affinity  vs Assassin
This is purely preference. I take runic affinity due to the buffs being very useful and want to make the most out of them. Assassin will help for invading the enemy jungler and taking them out. I recommend taking runic affiniy unless you are certain you can crush the other jungler in their jungle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Reasoning for this 12/18

Sorcery: You don't need attack speed from Fury.

Natural Talent: You have enough lifesteal/spellvamp.

Bounty Hunter: You should be getting the kills. 3 kills make this worth more than Double-Edge Sword. Battle Trance is for prolonged fights, which is not for Akali. Get in, kill, get out.

Savgery: This really helps your clear speed. Don't be put off by the lower number, it adds up.

Merciless: If you want to take Meditation, then you should stop playing Akali. Merciless or riot.

Dangerous Game: This greatly helps your chance of surviving after jumping in and getting a kill or assist. Greenfather's Gift is a passive I'm still up on the fence about, but I believe it's only useful for poke heavy supports or Ivern. Bandit...not unless you like to sit next to a lane for long periods of time.

Precision:  Priority is burst over CDR. Precision gives hybrid "pen" as in lethality and magic pen. Akali works beautifully off of both of these. CDR is not that important as her energy won't be able to keep up with capped CDR.

Thunderlord's Decree: Burst. Burst burst burst. This is max potential burst. Stormraider's Surge helps you stay on a target, but you should be able to do that with just Shadow Dance.

Combo:  akalimota.png -> akalishadowdance.png -> akalipassive.png -> akalishadowswipe.png -> akalipassive.png

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
akalipassive.png
Ah, yes. Akali's lovely passive. One for keeping you healthy and one for crushing those who oppose you. Keep in mind that your first basic attack will HEAL you. The second one will DEAL BONUS MAGIC DAMAGE. Once you get gunblade, the first hit that heals you will restore a great amount of your HP. So you never have to worry about going back to base for HP. You can easily lifesteal from jungle creeps or minions back to full. The second isn't' much to really talk about, it adds extra damage for the hit. Go get them!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

akalimota.png
The real burst damage of Akali. However, it is better to level it after  akalishadowswipe.png due to it being able to fast clear the jungle while still providing the damage you need for ganks. Always  akalimota.png  first before using   akalishadowdance.png  , this prevents them from avoiding you proc'ing the mark on them. And in some case it will cause them to flash instantly.

MAKE SURE TO PROC THE MARK AFTER YOU GO IN FOR THE ENERGY!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
akalismokebomb.png
After the Assassin Update, this skill is amazing. This allows Akali a nice burst of speed for kiting and she can teleport over walls(or just short distances). This allows ganks pre-6 to work out compared to how she was before the assassin update. I did not include this in the combo, because it is situational. You could use it to initiate or you could use it as an escape. It can also be used after jumping in for jump to be able to kite around inside of it.
DO NOT FORGET YOU CAN TELEPORT SMALL WALLS WITH IT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

akalishadowswipe.png
This is your core ability for jungle Akali. This allows you to clear the jungle pretty quickly if you use it correctly. Keep in mind that it gains a reduced cooldown when you kill something with it. Lower small monsters to be able to kill them with it then you'll be able to use it again sooner. It's perfect for Krugs, as its cooldown is the time it takes for the Krugs to break into smaller ones. Early on in ganks, this will be your main damage ability. You will definitely want to hit enemies with it when you go in.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
akalishadowdance.png
Akali's glorious Shadow Dance. This is probably the only reason Akali can be viable. But what do I know? Anyway, this is both an engage tool and escape tool. You can use it on any enemy unit and jungle creep. And you can use it three times if you have it stacked up. You can also use it to simply get around quicker if you see a low HP target that you won't need three dashes for.
BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS AGAINST ENEMIES WITH ANY SORT OF MOVEMENT ABILITY OR IF THEY HAVE FLASH. IT WILL NOT BRING YOU TO THEM, SO IT WILL WASTE 1 CHARGE.
Items Back to Top
Starting Items
    Learn to kite jungle creeps with this setup.
    This should be after your first back.
Core Items
    This should be finish ASAP. Do not get anything else except for Boots of Speed.
    I recommend getting these 2nd. It helps you get around more and still adds damage.
    This is your baby. You absolutely want this right after Runic Echoes or Sorc Shoes. Accept no substitute.
    This is your 2nd favorite child. It doesn't know that, but you still love it almost as much as Gunblade.
Situational Items
    When you're against those pesky MR hoarders.
    If you're looking for a defensive item, look no further. You like to live, right? This gives you a second go at life!
    AD comp? You're the focus? Shine in style as your team beats them mercilessly.
    Here's your heavy AP comp counter or if you know that one spell is coming for you when you jump in.
    Oh man, you're feeling more confident than me. Grab this with Void staff and no one will oppose you!
1414.png3020.png3146.png3100.png3135.png3026.png
This is my standard build in order. I tend to build 3020.png before 3146.png due to need to get around the map faster and chasing down people.1414.png adds a nice luden's effect while giving you some nice AP and movement speed. 3146.png and 3100.png are you core damage items. 3146.png should be before or after 3020.png. Nowhere else. 3100.png is a nice follow-up burst item. It adds more movement speed along with a basic attack proc passive and more AP for MORE DAMAGE! There's no reason to not get this. 3135.png is an item I usually get 5th, because they might start rolling out some MR against me or my AP allies(if I have any). It adds a nice chunk of AP and allows you to get through whatever MR they have. Lastly, I normally build 3026.png  just to be on the safe side. If I do something stupid or my team is late to follow up, this saves me. It allows takes their focus to me while they wait for me to be revive, this allows my team to either jump on them or take an objective.
1414.png3020.png3146.png3100.png3157.png3026.png
Same as before, except Zhonya in place of Void. This helps more against heavy AD comps.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1414.png3020.png3146.png3100.png3102.png3026.png

Same as previous, except Banshe in place of Zhonya's. This helps more against heavy AP comps.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1414.png3020.png3146.png3100.png3135.png3089.png
This is if you're popping off and want to just annihilate anyone in your path, instantly. I would advise against this in ranked. Unless you're absolutely sure of what you're doing.
About Me Back to Top
There is nothing much to say about me. I recently picked up Akali again after a long time and decided to main her after playing her assassin update.
My unlisted main peaked at D3 in S4. D4 in S3. Plat in S2. Gold in S1.
I quit after S4 and sold the account.
My champs that got me to D consisted of:
Jungle - Evelynn and Vi
Top: Kennen
Mid: Syndra and Nidalee
ADC: Caitlyn and Ezreal
Support: Lulu and Leona
I am not a pro player by any means. I use this summoner to play casually.
Hope this guide helps someone out, as there are not many jungle Akali guides out there.
ALL FEEDBACK IS WELCOME. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW THIS WORKS FOR YOU OR ANY OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS YOU HAVE TOWARDS IT.
