Summoner Spells Back to Top

Using flash + Tibbers (with stun) on multiply targets usually garantees winning  a team fight or getting your ADC fed bot lane.

Use14.png with your fast burst, kill your lane faster, much preferred spell.

3.png is strong against adcs that 100% rely on attack speed or assassins in general. Use if you want to shut them down in team fights.

New Runes Back to Top

This is the basic set up for early game damage cause you want to dominate lane. This season most Adcs have a weak early game and these runes make Annie very strong for the early game. So take advantage and melt bot lane.

Annie's Q pokes are very strong. So start q if you want to start aggressive.

So tradearrow-10x10.png alot. Annie is there to bully that bot lane. Stun with Q or W and your adc can lane free damage onto your opponents .

If you want a passive level 1, start W and charge up your passive at start game at the fountain  . At level 1 save that stun to counter any level 1 engage the opposing bot lane may try. Always try to get the level 2 advantage and engage first, from there you gain lane dominance.

Sometimes if you feel like bot lane is very aggressive put another point in Q at level 3 for some extra damage and take your E at level 4 instead. This will help win at level 2.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Your best start. Spellthief's has 5 ap and does 10 addition damage will spells and basics ,so makes it the best item for early aggression
You wont usually pick Annie to play passive , but in case you are just sitting around and waiting for level 6 to go in you can start coin for the sustain it gives.

Core Items

Your first 2 items to complete before anything else. once you get sight stone switch your yellow trinket to sweeper and upgrade at level 9
(Engage Items). Either 1 of these is usually your 3rd item ONLY IF YOU WANT ENGAGE. In team fights your job is usually to engage as annie. You can only get one of these items. Talisman is more reliable for your entire team as every one gets the speed buff so your team can follow up. If you team is a wombo team definitely go talisman . Frost Queen's claim is another way start fights. You can slow down targets out of position with your ghosts for a easy pick. If the enemy team is bringing the fight to you then don't build either of these
I go Peel Build a lot in Solo queue. The Health helps to survive longer in teams fights and Cool down reduction to spam more spells. Has been working out for me in Season 7,especially playing against tanky compositions. All the benefits of this build: Slow debuff, cooldown, survivability, grievous wounds against health regeneration, damage over time.

Situational Items

Either you or your junglers get this if needed. The active is really good at reducing aoe damage. In competitive games where games usually end fast you may not get enough gold to reach a 4th item as support so your jungler can pick it up early.
(Peel Build). These 2 item have really good synergy together. Beside damage enemies get hit by your spells would be slowed constantly. Remember after you spawn tibbers in team fights, let him keep chasing enemies and rylai's would apply a constant slow. Rylai's gives good peel for your team.
More synergy and good option if you want to go damage. The luden's passive applies the passive of these 2 items. A perfect ult and stun on a grouped up enemy team, luden's passive would then hit every one for a burn and slow.
If you want to win the game by the next team fight or you are just full build , might as well do more damage
If you want even more engage
Other items I consider if I still need a 6th Item.

VS

Alistar

Medium

He's melee you can harass him at level 1. Hes not a threat till he has his q+w  combopulverize.pngheadbutt.png. Also watch out for his flash Q 4.pngpulverize.png and then he will W headbutt.pngyou backwards. Its better to just focus on the adc and avoid his spells.

VS

Bard

Medium

He can actually trade even damage with you when his passive auto attack is up. He has health packets bardW.pngto heal up after. He can win the lane by sustain. You can play passive or just wait for the right time to all in. Be careful of your position so you don't get stun by his QbardQ.png.

VS

Blitzcrank

Medium
Landing pulls early makes blitz effective. So just avoid his pulls and manage your trinkets early on to keep the side bushes warded so he doesn't blind pull anyone.
Poking down Blitzcrank  early  would make it risky for him to pull someone if hes too low. Your adc should be the one doing most of the poke onto him so you can save your mana and spells for the opposing adc.

Try to keep minions in the center of the lane or a bit closer to your tower.
Blitz can 3.png overdrive.pngpowerfist.pngrocketgrab.png to set up early ganks. You dont want to be far away from your tower so you can escape.

VS

Brand

Hard

Brand is already a hard counter pick against Annie in the mid lane and just as hard to play against in the bot lane. His Wbrandfissure.png has a wide range for zone control. Dont get hit by his Q brandblaze.png while ablaze cause it stuns. Honestly dont get his by any of his abilities. His passive burns down your health. His Rbrandwildfire.png is point and click and you want to avoid it bouncing against your teammates .

This lane is just fire vs fire. Ham vs Ham. Who ever snowballs first wins. So you need to win lane get more Ap to out damage brand in the early stages. Later on a Locket of the Iron solari 3190.pngwould be good on Annie or your jungler preferable in this case since you may not get the gold fast enough.

Having a early game adc with burst would be better if you want to win lane.

VS

Braum

Medium

This matchup  depends on the skill of the bot lanes.

All things to consider:
- Avoid Braum's QbraumQ.png ( 1 Q from him can be your death). If he misses you easily turn around the fight
- Careful he uses a minion to jump braumW.png closer to you.
-His shield braumE.png cooldown.
-Annie stun needs to be ready at all times.
-You can bait his shield with a spell putting your passive at 3, then run pass him to stun his adc. Dangerous plays but like I said skill of the bot lanes.

VS

Caitlyn

Medium

Adc with the longest range , hard to get close to her . Its not a hard match if u play safe but as Annie you want to go in alot. Regardless your lv6 all in is still good

VS

Fiddlesticks

Easy

This lane can seem hard if you play it wrong, but its pretty easy. Hopefully your partner knows what hes doing.

-Dont stand next to each other when fiddle uses his E fiddlesticksdarkwind.png so it doesn't bounce off each other and take unnecessary damage.
-Save your stun for when fiddle uses his drain drain.png. If you dont have your stun there is nothing you can do about him stealing your hp bar. Once you stun him here you can easily kill him.
- At level 6 ward bushes so he does surprise you with his ult crowstorm.png.

VS

Janna

Medium
Playing against Janna is simply to work with her shield cooldown, its a pretty even lane depending on the strengths of the Adcs . Playstyles: Trade when her shieldeyeofthestorm.png isn't up/poke Janna down in lane/ make her waste her shield on herself/ note you can also break her shield with enough combine damage which makes her ally who she shielded lose the bonus AD.
Care for ganks if you are pushed up because Janna can slow sowthewind.png you to buy time for her Jungler to come in

Tip: If you engage on Janna with stun she wont be able to use her abilities to save herself if you burst her fast enough

VS

Karma

Hard

This can be a difficult lane. She can poke you out of lane with Qkarmaheavenlywave.png.  If you try to walk up to her she can just throw Qkarmaheavenlywave.png in front your face again.

If you don't have your stun then don't be close to her. She can lock you down with her Wkarmaspiritbond.png and use her speed from her Ekarmasoulshield.png to make sure you don't escape. Then you become a squishy and easy target.

VS

Leona

Medium
If you want to win this lane by fighting,
Start Q and poke her or her carry as much as possible lv1. Someones going to die lv2 or lv3 so hopefully you brought a Adc that has the damage for the all in. Pop your pots with no time to waste. When health bars are dropping use your ignite and you can also use your flash to run when you have done all you can. Using your flash like this can bait them into using summoners to try to kill you, this can cause enemy Adc and support to split up in a bad way cornering themselves to receive more autos from your Adc.  A level 1 or 2 gank from the jungler would be devastating depending on who is on the receiving end. Who ever gets snowball most likely wins lane hard. So maybe ask your jungler to gank if you going aggressive from lv 1 to lv2 for the extra help, so time that stun /maybe a double stun with W for your jungler to come in.

VS

Morgana

Medium
Ward the side bushes, so you don't get caught by  bindings. Not being able to see Morgana in the bushes would create too much pressure in the lane especially since her W can hard push the lane.

Try to have 3 stacks on your passive to bait her shield. You can also press E after you use your Q to get another stack on your passive, which is unexpected sometimes. This also applys for playing Against Sivir since her shield works almost the same

VS

Nami

Medium
I assume Nami would start W, so you won't be able to trade lvI since her W would poke for damage and heal her or her Adc at the same time. So all ins at lv6 is usaully the best option.
You need to see the side bushes so she doesn't poke you for free

VS

Sona

Easy
Side bush control needed so you dont get poked for free.
If Sona plays safe she out pokes you and has sustain . Trading damage isn't a problem for Annie but sustain is a major problem . All in on Sona is her weakness though. Try at lv 2 or 6

VS

Soraka

Medium
Unless you are going to focus Soraka or all in the ADC, just let it be a farm lane because the heals are too much. Soraka's ADC will always befull health.
Dont waste your effort and mana on their adc

VS

Tahm Kench

Hard

Very similar to playing against braum, just a bit harder. 1 Q tahmkenchQ.pngcan result in a easy follow up for his passive. He is tanky, heals up when he takes damage and has a self shield to block alot of damage. If you try to stun his carry he would just use his WtahmkenchW.png to save them from further damage.

VS

Taric

Easy
Easy lane , he has a stundazzle.png, you also have a stun with more damage. Harass him easy cause hes melee. If he stuns your carry then stun his

VS

Thresh

Easy
Ward for side bush vision, so you see those hooks coming. Avoid his CC and this is a easy lane. Poke him down. Watch out for flash flay and exhaust 4.png threshE.png 3.png threshQ.png, he might do this if his jungler is coming in.

A cool tip against thresh, when he does the wind-up animation for his Q threshQ.png you can throw tibbersinfernalguardian.png right in front of him. He would hook tibbers, he would get stunned at the same time if your passive is up. This work against blitz rocketgrab.png too but you have to predict it since his hook comes out immediately.

VS

Zilean

Easy
His poke is just as good as yours but you have a stun which makes him a sitting target for your carry. Just avoid getting hit by 2 of his Q's timebomb.png rewind.png timebomb.pngin a row so you dont get stunned.

VS

Zyra

Medium
Avoid her cc and her plants they do alot of damage. She a squishy target also easy to kill also

ADC+Annie Synergy: Back to Top

Annie is good with any Adc because of her damage and lock down. Her damage allows you and your Adc to win tradesarrow-10x10.png and her stun allows for more DPS (Damage per second aka more autos) from your carry. While she works with almost any Adc I will give reasons why she is good with certain Adcs.

So depending on the strategy you want, weather in lane or your overall team comp, your Adc can pick 1 of the following:

  • 15_64.png
Sivir Annie is for the Ult combos. Annie gets speed up to land her Tibbers ( same concept as Righteous Glory here)

  • 51_64.png

Caitlyn is a lane bully due to her long range. Adding Annie to equation gives a double bully lane. Use this to your advantage to set the opposing bot lane behind and also you can fast push towers

  • 18_64.png 29_64.png 429_64.png
The whole concept here is 'Stacks'. These three champs are very similar. Stunning a target will give these carries more time to apply stacks giving a ton of kill and lane pressure. Pushing for the level 2 advantage will most likey result in a easy first blood.
I believe that Kalista Annie is 1 of the strongest lanes ever

  • 236_64.png 104_64.png 42_64.png
With any of these 3 carries you can do an easy lv2 all in most of the time due to thier high burst along with Annie's

  • 222_64.png
The concept with Jinx Annie is to stun enemies then follow up with traps. Also Jinx is similar to Cait, having good potential to bully the lane with her Q range.

  • 67_64.png
While Vayne is a late game champion that can sometimes get bullied out of lane due to her weak laning phase, Annie is a good way to counter pressure. If you can simply zone out your enemies in lane, Vayne can get to farm easy for her late game. This makes most Vayne players happy. Note that Vayne Annie can be really strong in lane also.
