Summoner Spells Back to Top

Plain and simple, this isn't your average "Support Annie Guide." Instead it's an "Annie Support Guide--" meaning you will not be functioning within the Utility Sphere as much as other Supports, rather as a Utility Mage for your team.

That being said, you want to DOMINATE not bypass the early game and Flash + Ignite will be advantageous towards making sure you accomplish that.

If you want to take Exhaust because your team is telling you to take it--just ignore them and mute everyone, once the game commences. Remember, this is a "My ADC doesn't like me Goth Annie Guide," not an "I can only play Annie Support Guide because I don't know how to play any other Support Guide," and therefore I will try to be what I'm not--a Passive Support.

Exclaimer: If you end up feeding, do not blame me. You should be cautious as to when is the right time to all-in. don't just play blindly and wildly, it is still in your best interest to remember to poke--whittle them down--before all-in'ing.

I will provide an in-depth section as to how you should be trading with the enemy ADC and or Support.

Masteries Back to Top

The main reason we go 12-18-0 is for the purpose of maximizing your all-in potential.

We basically go for anything that will benefit us bursting them down as early as level(s) 1-3. If you want to get Mastery points in Resolve or focus on mana-regen, etc. from Cunning, this guide is not for you.

Edit: We take Expose Weakness because it helps out both your ADC and your team in team fights.

Want to maximize Q for single target burst (their ADC), and then W for mid-late game team fights. Reason we get E as 2nd point is because it helps us get our stun without sacrificing much mana.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Spellthief's Edge, 3 Health Potions, and a Warding Totem (Trinket). PS: Your Health Potions will be upgraded to Biscuits

Core Items

I would prefer going for the Fiendish Codex before upgrading to your Frostfang because it provides more AP and -10% CDR. But if you want to try and take an early tower you can just go for Frostfang. Whatever your preferences are, that's what you should go for. Boots are always essential, and a Vision Ward (Pink) early game will be key to ensuring your survival from Ganks.
Your Core Items are Frost Queen's Claim and Boots of Swiftness for the Utility and Much-needed Movement Speed.

Situational Items

In the Mid Game, Ruby Sightstone will provide you some HP and Vision Utility, whilst Zeke's Harbinger will provide your ADC or other Ally you bind with, a boosted damage output. Oracle Alteration would be beneficial in wiping out enemy wards mid-to-late game and help you take objectives much, much easier--like Dragons, Barons, or Rift Heralds.
Finally, as the game starts to close, you will need to pick up two more items--preferably Luden's Echo and Morellonomicon. Furthermore, switching your Oracle Alteration to a Farsight Alteration and buying an Elixir of Sorcery or an Oracle's Extract will also benefit you greatly.
Your End-Game Build should look something like this, which will provide you with a full -40% CDR for Tibbers and spamming spells--all whilst not taking away any vision, utility, slows, etc. your team might need from a Support.

You want to maximize on 40% CDR and some AP burst.

VS

Alistar

Hard

The reason why it's a bit harder laning against Alistar, is because his Pulverize or Headbutt can disrupt your burst combos and push you away. If that is the case, and you are having trouble bursting down the enemy ADC, you should just try and Flash his spells if you know you can pick up the kill on the enemy ADC--after you have whittle'd them down.

VS

Bard

Easy

You should not have a tough time against Bard since he has no real disruptions to stop his ADC from being burst down. However, it can be annoying picking up kills after the combos and stuns because of his E (Magical Journey) unless you too go through it and pick up the kills that way too. You can cast E when on his ADC as a means to reduce the damage he does to you whilst you finish up his ADC. At level 6, i would say try and flash his Ult to avoid being "Frozen".

VS

Blitzcrank

Medium

Pre-6 Blitz will be annoying because of his knock-ups and pulls. As for the pulls, I would say just try and dodge them, whilst for his knock-ups, i would say back off after you have combo'd the enemy laner because you will leave yourself exposed to them ganging up on you. The best way to go about it is: Wait for him to use his pull--and miss--, then Q + Stun the enemy ADC, W and E. If you get knocked-up, anytime during the stun duration, just back off and wait to go at it again. You don't want to fight the enemy laners when your stun is down, especially if you're ADC may not be all that good.

VS

Brand

Hard

Brand's objective is the same as yours--burst someone down. And unless you can dodge his stuns and his abilities, while you output yours on either him or his ADC, then continue doing so or just back off and wait for a better opportunity. You don't want him spamming his spells on you while you're trying to spam yours on his ADC because he could easily burst you down.

VS

Braum

Medium

This match up greatly depends in that whether or not you can get in behind Braum's Unbreakable. If you can bypass his kit you will be able to achieve what needs to be achieved. If you cannot, it will be a difficult bot lane.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Easy

Just dodge his cleavers, beyond that he has nothing that can really stop you from destroying the enemy ADC.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Medium

Annoying matchup, if anything, just burst him down instead--since he's so squishy.

VS

Janna

Medium

Pre-6, should be relatively easy to burst down her ADC. Post-6 should be semi-hard considering she has a disengage. However, if you position yourself so that she pushes you towards her turret instead of away from it--so you land in front of her ADC--you can easily capitalize on this match-up.

VS

Jarvan IV

Easy

Pre-6, you should just step to the side to dodge his Q+E combo when he uses E before Q'ing... if you're fast enough.

VS

Karma

Hard

Karma has the potential to burst you down, and or Mantra + Focus Resolve Lock you. Just wait out her Q then E to rid of some of her burst while you burst her ADC. Tough match up though.

VS

Kayle

Easy

Pre-6, not much that can stop you. Post-6 Burst down whomever doesn't have the shield.

VS

Lee Sin

Medium

Since Lee Sin--even in support--can output a good amount of damage, just try and whittle down their adc, back off--after combo'ing--and do it all over again until you can burst down their carry. Do not fight 2 v 2 unless they are both really low. Post-6, just reposition so that you don't get kicked away from them, rather further above them.

VS

Leona

Hard

Since she has a lot of CC, be careful when trying to burst down her carry. She can easily have you shut down and her ADC can pick you off that way. Try to fight a 2 v 2 at all times.

VS

Lulu

Medium

The only real disruption here is her Whimsy or Polymorph. The other would be her ult, Wild Growth which can disrupt your burst and save her ADC or herself. Other than that it should be a fairly easy match up--just annoying.

VS

Lux

Medium

Although Lux may not be as bursty as say Karma or Brand, she can however still output a good amount of CC and damage. Dodge her Q (Light binding), by pass her E (Lucent Singularity) and you should not have much trouble bursting her or her ADC down.

VS

Malphite

Easy

Malphite is not a pain in the ass as a support until post-6.

VS

Maokai

Medium

He can be pretty annoying and peel for his ADC fairly well--to the point of him stopping you from bursting his ADC down, but should not be that much of a problem until post-6.

VS

Morgana

Hard

Plain and Simple, ban out Morgana. Her Black Shield is the reason why you won't be able to stun her ADC. So then I would suggest instead to whittle down her ADC without having your stun up or do the quick E + Q combo to gain your stun and be quick enough to cast it before she casts her Black Shield.

VS

Nami

Easy

Dodge her Aqua Prison, burst down her ADC.

VS

Nautilus

Hard

One of the most annoying CC locking Supports. Be careful with this one. Just try to whittle down the ADC, back off, then burst down the ADC when they're low enough with Flash + Ignite.

VS

Sona

Easy

Although she may me annoying with her heals, you can either burst her down--cus' you can--or burst down her ADC when he's low enough.

VS

Soraka

Medium

One of the more annoying healers, try to burst her down before the ADC or try to whittle her down before all-in'ing on her ADC--that way she can't heal for much. Post-6 will be much, much easier with Tibbers.

VS

Taric

Medium

Try to get him to use his Dazzle on you before actually engaging as that can disrupt your combo or post-6, Tibbers both him and the ADC before spamming your spells.

VS

Thresh

Medium

Can be annoying with the amount of CC, but all you have to do is dodge his Q, stay distant from his Flay and burst down his ADC.

VS

Trundle

Hard

One of the more annoying supports that also deal a good amount of damage, try to Flash + Ignite his Pillar of Ice and stun lock then spam his ADC.

VS

Volibear

Hard

Volibear is a hardcore supporting champion. Best solution. Focus him or the ADC. If you go for the ADC there's a good chance he'll be able to 1 v 1 your ADC, so keep that in mind. If you go for him, there's a good chance his ADC will go for you or your ADC. Whatever the case, I would say focus down the ADC, get your ADC to Flash away, and then have your ADC re-engage once his ADC is down.

VS

Zilean

Medium

Pre-6, dodge his bombs. Post 6, stop focusing whomever has the Chronoshift on and wait it out, while you burst down the other.

VS

Zyra

Hard

Zyra has a good amount of burst, so if anything, try and kill her before her ADC because she can CC lock you as well. Post-6, you shouldn't really have a problem if you can Tibbers both of them.

Trading and Winning Bot Lane Back to Top

I think that it is extremely important to understand how you can win bot lane, and so I will go in-depth as to how we can accomplish this when playing Annie.

First of all, you must understand what you can do as Annie. With Annie, you can pretty much burst down anyone, whilst also stunning the entire enemy team with your charged up passive (Pyromania) and your ult (Summon: Tibbers). In the early game, unfortunately, you don't have Summon: Tibbers until level 6. Therefore, you will have to focus on bursting down only one enemy at a time--preferably the enemy ADC. I would go so far as to say, that you should not worry about peeling for your ADC until after the enemy ADC has been removed from the picture. Your main role is not to provide kills to your ADC, rather shut down the enemy ADC whilst giving your ADC an advantage from either picking up kills, or picking up assists and having a higher CS count.

when going about trading with the enemy laners, you will try and AA whenever you can--primary target should be the enemy ADC. Q (Disintergrate) whenever you can to begin charging your passive (Pyromania), and then try to stun and spam your spells unto the enemy ADC with your Q and W combo. Since you are only focusing on shutting down the enemy ADC, your main focus should be Q'ing the enemy ADC, followed up by spamming W and E to reduce damage to you once the stun is over with. After this, depending on how low they are, you can either back off and begin recharging your passive, or you can try to pick up the kill with Ignite + AA's and Q or W whenever you can.

PS: I would highly advise you not to waste your Flash to pick up kills unless it is for First Blood, because you should only use Flash for escaping purposes.
