Introduction

Hi everyone, I'm Kmva, a Plat V support main who has played over 1000 ranked support games in season 5 climbing from Bronze V to Platinum V. I've been playing since Braum's release in May 2014. I played some ranked in season 4 but ended in Bronze.

Braum is one of my best supports and fits the role exceedingly well due to his massive slows and great peeling.

Flash is a standard summoner spell on anyone but for Braum it can be used for closing a gap to use

or just using defensively. Always look for an opportunity to save flash and use

as a gap closer instead!

I often switch between using exhaust and ignite, I look for their team comp first. If they have an assassin I'll usually always take exhaust. I suggest exhaust over ignite anyways because it's much more useful late game than ignite which gives kill pressure in lane.

If there is Mundo or Swain or someone who regenerates health quickly and you need the kill pressure I would take ignite. Ignite is nice because you'll almost always get a kill with it in a 2v2 duel. Especially in early levels as concussive blows and unbreakable can really tip the scales in your favor in a level 2 fight.

The new mastery changes greatly benefited Braum and many other supports. Strength of the ages just feels like it was made for Braum. Each siege minion you or a nearby ally kills grants you permanent health. Making you tankier and harder hitting

's for free!

This is used more of a jump than anything. It does give extra armor and magic resistance for a short time so make sure to use this on your carry when you are 2v2 dueling in bot lane. Remember you can also hop to minions and pets such as Annie's

This ability is great in the jungle because of how many closed areas there are. You can use this for zoning an escape as the slow stays until glacial fissure is gone. Very good ultimate especially with a strong engaging team such as

Bad matchups

Anyone with poke or uses frost queens. Examples below

- Good poke, polymorph.

- Good poke, a lot in her kit to keep her carry alive.

- Great poke, will give Braum a hard time. Go in on him when his abilities are on cooldown.

- Good poke, has a stun, speed up and revive.

- Though not played a lot I'll add her anyways. Strong poke.

- Poke and has a heal. This lane is doable if you engage early before being poked down.

- Poke, long range. Your

can block most of the damage from her abilities but she can poke a lot more than you can block.

- Arguably Braum's worst counter. Her

blocks a lot of your abilities and can stop the stun from

if timed right.

- Braum has the upper hand pre 6 but once he gets

it can be a challenge.

Good matchups

- Blitzcrank is very reliant on his

to be a threat. With Braum being a tank, if Blitz pulls you it's basically a free flash. Immediately go for the carry when you're pulled unless you are under their tower.

- Leona just throws herself out there leaving her with no escape, it's an easy lane just protect your carry. Block the damage and keep your carry alive.

- Thresh is an amazing support, usually always a safe pick but same with anyone else with a hook, Braum counters it.

- Hooks right into Braum though I would consider this a skill matchup.

Good synergy ADCs

- Possibly the best botlane you could get. Maybe even better than

and

. Your passives go so well together. Lucian's level 2 power spike gets a lot deadlier when added with

. I highly recommend finding a good Lucian player to do this with because this is a VERY hard lane to beat. I have a friend (Ebbing) who is a Lucian main who I play this lane with often and we almost never lose lane.

- Twitch does good damage but he is very fragile so you really have to look after him. Especially if there is an enemy assassin. I recommend taking

- Vayne is good with Braum because they create good burst together.

Works well with

when they both proc it results in good damage. She's also fragile with little escape so make sure to peel for her.

- Tristana goes well with Braum when she charges her

on someone with

stacks she can finish them off with

. This is a high kill pressure lane so I suggest taking

to dominate the enemy bot lane.

- Though Ezreal is a poke type and Braum is an all in type they do go together surprisingly well. His

- I love playing against a Jinx. She has multiple projectiles, you can block most of her rocket damage with

, it also blocks her super mega death rocket

though the AoE damage still occurs.

- Many blockable projectiles,

- No escapes, weak self peel, depending on the enemy support this lane should be fairly easy.

- Lots of projectiles

. Easy enough lane if you can reach her.

- Not the hardest counter to Ashe as she has good self peel to make up for her lack of escape.
