Standard choice for all situations. Helps with positioning, escaping ganks, and setting up offensive plays.


Exhaust

Your go-to secondary summoner. The best choice for increased damage and kill opportunities. Saves you from potential dives early levels

Was your go-to secondary summoner. Replaced by Exhaust which creates more utility in your kit.


Good Alternatives:
12.png - Teleport is good for setting up TP ganks or general map control/back-dooring.
21.png - Barrier is good for more defensive play or if you're worried about a potential mismatch. 

Note: You will generally not get as much out of these as you would Ignite.

Max Q first

because it's your most effective poke ability. 

Second max ability should be E followed by W

Reasoning:

1) the CD of E is totally huge
2) Since CD of Q is low.. then you can use Q too lower the CD of your skills!
3) Q goes pretty well with Lich Bane!


First, let me explain the full Ezreal's combo for maximum damage 


(Great when being chased):

2nd Combo (Surprise combo):

If your target is still not dead after that, you can Mystic Shot and try to secure the kill with another Arcane Shift+Essence Flux and/or auto attack down.

Rising Spell Force(Passive): 

Hitting a target with a ability of Ezreal's increases his attack speed by 10% for 6 seconds and stacks up to 5 times. The uses here are pretty straight forward. Use it to last hit under tower.

Mystic Shot(Q): 

Ezreal fires a bolt of energy,dealing physical damage that applies on-hit effects. Ezreal's cooldowns are reduced by 1 second if Mystic Shot hits a target. 

This is your primary farming tool. This will fix any mistake for last hitting in the early stage of the game. 
This later on does great damage with3100_32.png.

Essence Flux(W): 

Ezreal fires a wave of energy that damages all enemy champions it passes through for magic damage. Allied champions hit by it have their attack speed hasted for 5 seconds. 

In team fights be sure to hit as many enemies or allies in team fights, refer to E for my reasoning on skill ordering.

Arcane Shift(E): 

Ezreal teleports to a target nearby location and fires a homing arrow at the nearest enemy unit, dealing magic damage. 

Why do I upgrade E over W? Harassing the opponent is a good idea with W but having E is better with the lower cooldown and it has more damage in the early stages. When I see that my opponent is open I go in with a E --> Q combo which is a great harass tool.

Trueshot Barrage(R): 

Ezreal channels for 1 second to fire a barrage of missiles dealing magic damage to each unit it passes through. However, it deals less damage for each unit it hits. 

This is your primary damage in team fights since you should about 3-4 champions if hit 5 great! Make sure you use Q as much as you can since  so you can get your ultimate sooner due to Mystic Shot's passive.

Why rank Q a 2nd time at level 4? Because it ensure you to last hit better under tower since it takes 2 auto attacks to make sure you can kill a minion after 1 tower shot while using mystic shot you kill it after the tower shot. When you have blue buff in lane, spam your ult. You will be doing insane harass and pushing their wave. Your cool down will be below 30 seconds with constant Q's.

Starting Items

    Standard trinket. Switch with blue trinket at level 9 for safer warding and greater pick potential.

Core Items

    Standard mage pick, great since you don't need anything the other boots offer.
    Blue trinket is a strong trinket for Ez. Switch from yellow trinket as soon as you back after hitting level 9.

Situational Items

    can sub out morello for muramana
    Pick this up whenever you have the gold after finishing lich or cap your damage goes through the roof with this damage spike

Since her range is a bit bigger than yours and has better mobility after 6 you should be careful make sure you farm safely.

Since 84_64.png is assassin with burst you shouldn't confront her alone after 6. Make sure you farm safe. Grabbing 3028_32.png Will help against her damage and grabbing 2003_32.png.2043_32.png can help against her when your jungler comes to gank.


Harrassing early can help in efforts to make sure she gets no farm which can be risky since junglers can gank if pushed you're pushed mid to far.

Standard way of playing against anivia be sure to stay away from minions cause they can creep block you and anivia will take her chance to stun you when she gets the chance to harrass you for free.

Hard

Pre 6 you can poke her out of lane and since you can AA then Mystic Shot(Q)  you harrass easily. Make sure you counter gank if she leaves lane she can kill your adc fairly quickly.

She can take you on very easily and since in Spider form she can Rappel(E) she can dodge your ultimate if you shoot with her having sight of you. Make sure you are safe after 6 since she has all her spells and probably will commit to diving.

very difficult to engage on since he can use trickster to avoid your e damage. What you can do is try to harass early since you are ranged and he is melee yes this puts you in a position where he can q you but if you react fast enough before he tricksters out you can arcane shift about the same time and out trade him for the damage and make him overextend

Easy
30_64.png Is fairly easy in the early stage. His mana costs are too high so he has to focus on farming mainly since you have Mystic Shot(Q) you can harrass from afar and if he over extends you can go aggressive with Ezreal's Arcane Shift(E).

When you see him glow orange that means hes gonna approach you to cast his Q the silence. Make sure you cast q and e fast enough then you can beat his harrass and get more trade damage fairly.

Before 6 you can easily dominate her in lane but after 6 since of her ult you would have to surprise her so she wont block all your damage.

If you auto attack him early and force him to back off and deny farm you will be fine but be sure to not overpush i know you have your e but i think using to escape is wasteful for damage. Grabbing 3191_32.png will prove to help a lot against the damage

Her combo ensures easy damage so avoid being hit with q at all costs and if possible make sure you throw your w when she tries to approach you for free damage

Since you have a longer range poke you can lower her fairly easy with Mystic Shot(Q). Her (Q) is short unless it hits a target and splashes behind farther so if you position yourself safe from that and farm you will have a fairly easy matchup.

Dodge the spells and you will be fine be sure to outfarm since she has a better wave clear than you

Since 90_64.png has his (E) he can clear the waves fairly easy and it causes harrass easy aswell so you have to be safe around your own minions and farm from afar and make sure you are't out of position.

Since 82_64.png has a lot of wave clear be sure to stand in a place where he cant get his shield so much cause of his passive based on the amount of damage dealt to targets. so doing this you can bait him out of the minion wave using Arcane Shift(E) and Mystic Shot(Q) combo which will prove to be successful. Do not engage alone since he does have a shield to cancel out your damage unless you can get your standard combo he will drop quickly.

Make sure to dodge spears. Basic things really she is fairly easy unless she gets ganks from jungler like any other mid.

When i play against 8_64.png he usually buys 1029_32.png2003_32.png since he thinks im going ad mid. Forcing him out of lane is usually a good idea but since he has his Transfusion(Q) he has better sustain. Causing you to lose trades until you get 3057_32.png/3100_32.png.

Do not challenge him alone be sure to poke him down low enough so you can burst him. Grabbing 3191_32.png will slow him down on harrass

Hello there I have been playing AP Ezreal for a very long time. I love Ezreal he is by far my favorite champion in the league. I love playing ADC Ezreal but I feel his potential in teamfights isn't that great so I decided to play AP Ezreal due to his ult and W damage in teamfights to burst fairly quickly.

Pros:

  • Global Ultimate
  • Long Skillshot Range
  • Can Escape/Chase with Arcane Shift
  • Strong Poke
  • Insane poke for zoning
  • You make people go "WOW"
  • Insane burst
Cons:
  • Hard to master
  • Squishy
  • Doesn't have natural CC
  • Focused a lot
  • Has to be mentally prepared to play
  • Missing skill shots can take a toll
  • Disliked in champion select
  • Bad wave clear early

Tips and Tricks Back to Top

Tips and Tricks: (Smart casting preferred)

  • Using your Ult when you are about to be CC'd by (54_64.png,90_64.png,64_64.png,72_64.png,34_64.png) you can cast your Ult it will not be interrupted which proves to turn the outcome of the fight
  • Use your Ult and W before team fights to maximize your damage output
  • Q to check fog or brushes
  • E over ledges and walls
  • Hit Q to lower CD of abilities
  • Use Q after an AA to maximize damage

Late Game:

Team fights: 

Your ultimate is you most valuable tool. If you can hit an ultimate on all 5 members of the enemy team with a full AP Ezreal build, Jungle fights are where typically everyone bunches up, try to get in those fights. 

Late game DON'T arcane shift in, unless you know you can get out of that exchange safely. The only time you should E into a dangerous situation is if their adc is low and you need to execute them for sure. Shift into their carry and proceed to 4.png out. 
Your Cooldowns should be very low at late game, just sit behind your tank(s) and spam abilities. Shift to the side, not forward into their team, to send out damage and not kill yourself. 

Late game is Simple, you will wreck team fights.

The champions that work great with Ezreal so you can have a good lineup or team with you.
21_64.png - She's pretty good with ezreal their ultimates can do massive damage if used correctly.
110_64.png - Decent if lands ult and clears wave with Q
51_64.png - Just perfect
104_64.png - Works just as well 
119_64.png - Strong Ults before/during Team fights
22_64.png - Can do some major damage if catches enemy Marksman
15_64.png - (yet to play with one yet)

67_64.png - Really bad.(Sorry to say but she doesn't do that well whenever i play with her)

The following items grant Spellblade:

3057_32.png Sheen - Basic attack deals bonus Physical damage equal to your base attack damage.
20px-Lich_Bane_item.png Lich Bane - Your basic attack deals bonus Magic damage equal to 50 + 75% of your ability power.
20px-Iceborn_Gauntlet_item.png Iceborn Gauntlet - Basic attack deals bonus Physical damage equal to 125% of your base attack damage to surrounding enemies and creates a field for 3 seconds that slows enemies inside by 35%.
Notes:
In the event you own multiple spellblade items, the order of priority is: Lich Bane, Trinity Force, Iceborn Gauntlet and Sheen.
The area of effect slow is not considered part of the "Spellblade" effect, and is instead classified as Icy. If you own both Iceborn Gauntlet and a higher priority Spellblade item (i.e. Lich Bane and Trinity Force), you will trigger the higher priority's damage component while still triggering the area of effect slow.
Abilities that apply on-hit effects such as 20px-GangplankSquare.png Gangplank's 20px-Parrrley.jpg Parrrley and 20px-EzrealSquare.png Ezreal's 20px-Mystic_Shot.jpg Mystic Shot can trigger the damage and slow effects when the ability hits.
