Summoner Spells Back to Top

I personally prefer 12.pngover 14.png because it offers a good map presence and also helps you return to lane quickly after a forced recall. But 14.png is also viable if you are really confident and you are up for an easy matchup.

Masteries Back to Top

These are the masteries I usually prefer to use when playing 114.png. Of course other options are possible. For example you can choose 18/0/12 and choosing either Fervor of Battle or Warlord's Bloodlust as your keystone. In my opinion since fioraq.png procs on-hit effects Grasp of the Undying provides some extra poke and sustain. Below I'll include details on what masteries to prefer on every tree.

Ferocity

Fury over sorcery since you don't benefit at all from bonus ability damage.
I prefer double-edged sword over feast since I don't feel like the sustain from feast is very usefull compared to 3% bonus damage
Vamipirism over Natural talent since your Q procs on-hit effects and thus procs lifesteal.
Opressor is good since your E applies a slow so you can boost the damage of the critical strike from it.
Buttering blows over Piercing thoughts since 114.png is a physical damage oriented Champion.
Warlords bloodlust is good when you need lane sustain, whereas Fervor of Battle is good in lanes where you want to fight your enemy a lot.

Cunning

I prefer Savagery over Wanderer since it can help you farm in lane
I like to take assassin since while you're playing toplane you are mostly alone so the 2% bonus damage helps a lot
114.png doesn't have mana problems so merciless is a lot more helpfull than meditation
Dangerous game can help you a lot in lane as well as in 1v2 situations.
You don't really need the 5% bonus CDR and I think the bonus penetration from Precision is more helpfull
I don't think stormraider's surge is usefull on Fiora. The only viable keystone from the Cunning tree in my opinion is Thunderlords Decree.

Resolve

You don't really build a lot of armor/mr as Fiora and you can make good use of the bonus HP regen in lane, so i prefer recovery over Unyielding
Though skin over Explorer since I don't think the bonus movement speed from Explorer helps a top-laner much
Always take Runic skin over Veteran's Scars since it boosts your passive's healing, your lifesteal as well as HP regeneration.
Insight over Perserverence is my personal preference and can be changed.
Swiftness over Legendary Guardian since it can help you in lane as well as in team-fights especially against enemies with lots of CC
The only keystone I personally like from the Resolve tree is Grasp of the Undying. It offers good poke as well as sustain. In combination with your passive it can help you a lot in lane.

fiorapassive.png- Duelist's Dance (passive) This is, in my opinion, the ability that makes 114.png very strong in all stages of the game. Since it deals true damage based on the enemy's max HP it helps you deal damage to any enemy during a teamfight no matter how tanky they are. Never risk too much in order to hit a vital and if while you are in the laning phase a vital appears in a bad spot ( for example behind the enemy laner) you can simply walk away. The vital will expire and a new one will appear when you aproach the enemy again.
fioraq.png- Lunge (Q) Lunge is Fiora's most important ability and learning how to use it is very important. This ability provides poke during the laning phase since it can help you easily hit vitals facing you. Also it applies on-hit effects so it can proc grasp of the undying as well as items such as Ravenous or Titanic Hydra and Sheen. It is also a usefull disengage and engage tool since if it hits an enemy it's cooldown is significantly reduced. Use Lunge to dodge enemy projectiles or get into a better position during teamfights. Note that this ability prioritizes Vitals first then Targets that would die and then Champions. This ability can also hit (and proc vitals on) invisible targets.
fiorariposte.png- Riposte (W) This is undoubtedly Fiora's strongest but also hardest to learn ability. Riposte's potential is amazing since it can block literally everything (except turret shots). You should always look for the best opportunity to use this ability because it can turn the tides of a fight around. Blocking a 122.png or 86.png ultimate during a fight in lane can easily give you the upper hand and get you ahead. Remember that riposte also reduces the movement and attack speed of enemies it hits.
fioraflurry.png- Bladework (E) This ability is pretty straightforward. Your 2 next basic attacks have 25 bonus range and 50% increased attack speed. The first attack cannon crit but applies a 30% slow while the 2nd attack is guaranteed to crit. This ability is also an auto-attack reset so you should abuse that.
fioradance.png- Grand Challenge (Ultimate) Easily my favorite 114.png ability. This ability can not only turn a 1v1 fight around but a whole teamfight as well. It helps you easily take care of tanks since ,just like your passive, it deals true damage, and the heal you get if you proc all vitals or if the enemy dies after you have at least proc'd one is huge and can help you win the game. You should always be careful about the person you use this ability on.

You max Lunge fioraq.png first first since that way u can have the biggest possible damage output. Then you max Bladework fioraflurry.png to increase the crit damage. Lastly you max Riposte fiorariposte.png since you don't really get any benefit from maxing it earlier. As with all ultimates you should put a point in Grand Challenge fioradance.png at levels 6,11 and 16.

Note that the ability u put a point into at level 2 totally depends on the lane opponent you are up against. Agaist a champion who has a stun that can be predicted ( e.g 92.png) you can take your W second instead of E.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Aggresive start. Start with these items when you are confident or against an easy matchup.
My favorite starting item right now. Corrupting potion grants you nice sustain and its passive helps a lot in trades.
This is pretty straightforward. Warding totem grants you with vision in order to prevent ganks and generally have a view of your surroundings

Core Items

Choose one of the 2 depending on the enemy team's composition. if they have a lot of magic damage and crowd control you should go for mercury's treads. if they are more ad oriented you should go for ninja tabi
You should rush this when against an ap laner
This is a standard ad fiora build. you can replace maw of malmortius with sterak's gage or randuin's omen when against ad opponents. the 6th item should be a situational defensive item
More tanky build if your team needs a tank. randuin's omen and spirit visage are once again situational and depend on the enemy team's composition.

Situational Items

You can rush lord dominik's regards when against tanks. you can also combine it with a black cleaver for even more armor penetration.
These items are situational (check notes)

VS

Akali

Hard

I actually don't have much experience on this matchu-up but I included it because it can get extremely annoying. If akali takes Deathfire touch as her keystone she can easily poke her down with her Q which has a really low cooldown. Play safe and ask for ganks. Warlords bloodlust or Fervor of battle could be good in this case. Be careful of her level 6 powerspike.

VS

Cho'Gath

Medium

Really annoying lane. Cho'gaths's spikes can deal suprisingly high damage in the early game. His Q on the other hand is pretty easy to parry, so you can use that to stun him. Late game if he builds a lot of hp he probably won't have a lot of damage so you can take him down using your fioradance.png

VS

Darius

Medium

This lane can vary from really easy to really hard. A good 122.png will not let you farm or generally get near him witout using his dariuscleave.png on you. If you see his animation starting and you know that you can't get away, the best thing you can do is fioraq.png right onto him so that you will be hit by the handle of his axe and not the blade. That way you receive less damage, he doesn't heal and doesn't apply his passive on you. Use your fioraq.png to safely poke his vitals if they are facing you. If you see him approaching you, you can expect him to try and pull you with his dariusaxegrabcone.png. If you time your fiorariposte.png right you can parry it and stun him, leaving him vulnerable. If during a fight he manages to get 5 stacks of his passive on you, you can try and predict his ultimate and parry it with fiorariposte.png, thus giving you the upper hand for that fight. In my opinion this is a skill lane. I prefer to start with a corrupting potion for the sustain and wait for the right moment to fight him. In this matchup I take 12/0/18 masteries with Grasp of the undying.

VS

Malphite

Hard
54.png is the champion I completely hate laning agaist as 114.png. He has both an attack speed and movement speed slow so you can't easily fight or chase him down. He stacks armor and even though you have true damage he is really hard to burst down. Play safe, farm and ask for ganks. You should start with corrupting potion and use Grasp of the undying as your keystone. I advice against picking 114.png if you know that their top-laner is 54.png. The only chance you have to get a kill in this lane is in the early game by constantly poking him and then going all in. His ultimate is hard to predict but if you manage to parry it he doesn't really have kill pressure on you.

VS

Nasus

Medium

You have very low kill pressure on 75.png since he can just slow you and run away. Unless you ask for a gank it's doubtfull you will get a kill on him early. Focus on farming and wait till the late game where ( if his slow isn't off cooldown) you can use your fioradance.png on him and burst him down. I don't really sugges picking 114.png against 75.png

VS

Pantheon

Hard

Annoying. He can easily poke you down while you don't have a way to poke him. His passive shield can block your Q and his stun is hard to predict. Start with 2033.png and take Grasp of the Undying. Ask for ganks and try to get ahead early.

VS

Riven

Easy

SKILL MATCHUP. Against a bad 92.png you can have a lot of fun. Bad Rivens tend to weave their stuns in their combos the same way all the time, making them really predictable and easy for you to parry. In this lane you can start with a Doran's Blade and use Fervor of Battle as your keystone. Put a lot of pressure early and try to predict her stun. Remember that her 3RD Q is a stun as well as her W. Her Q is easy to predict and parry as it is pretty telegraphed. When against a good 92.png I don't advice on trying to parry her W since it is pretty hard to predict.  At level 6 you both get a big powerspike so try to make full use of your Ultimate and you can fights.

VS

Xin Zhao

Medium
5.png indeed deals a big amount of damage. Whether he is top or jungle you should be aware of his suprisingly high damage output. On the other hand, his third Q is really easy to predict and parry with your fiorariposte.png giving you a free stun. If you manage to stun him you should use your fioradance.png on him and try to take him down as fast as possible.

About me Back to Top

Hey guys. My name is Jopapadam and I've mained 114.png for quite a while now. I started playing League of Legends back in 2010 when 99.png was released, but then I played really rarely since my then PC coulnd't handle the game. I actually started playing mid season 3. I used to main mid as well as Jungle for a while and tried different things. I finished in bronze in season 3 then in silver in season 4, gold in season 5, and I am currently gold 3. My main roles are Top and Support while I rarely play Midlane especially in Ranked games.

I first started playing 114.png a while after her release and completely fell in love with her playstyle. I used to play 114.png top, jungle and even mid.

When I first heard that 114.png was going to get reworked I can't say I was happy. But then I checked out her new abilities and tested her in the PBE  server and I was surprised about how good this rework was. They actually turned 114.png into a Champion than when in the right hands can turn a whole game around.

About this guide (WORK IN PROGRESS!!) Back to Top

This is the first guide I actually got myself into and it's still in an early stage and a lot more additions will be made. Make requests in the comments about specific matchups and other stuff you would like to see in the guide. I plan on adding a lot more matchups, item routes as well as notes for every item specifically, and generally more tips.
